Is it me, or are we seeing a lot of castle houses up for sale lately? This one, built in 1975 in Barrington, IL has 5bds, 6ba, $1.75M. Well, let's see what this one looks like. So far, I see a statue mooning us.
The grand hall entrance.
Modern gray and white castle. This is disappointing. It looks like a McMansion.
Next to the living room there's a game room. A game room should have color, cool stuff, and neon.
Oh, look, the dining room is greige. The rooms are so big and hardly have any furniture, which makes them look cold.
I would imagine that this is meant to be an open concept kitchen/family room. You would think that a $1.75M home would have a backsplash in the kitchen.
There's a little bar area in the corner. There's an exhaust hood over the stove, but that bare wall is going to get so splattered.
The way to the indoor pool.
Very large space and it's all stone and glass. It must be very costly to heat.
This sitting room with an oddly small, fancy fireplace is at the end of the pool.
The primary bedroom has a terrace.
It also has a seating area and doors to a large rooftop deck with a fireplace.
And, of course there's an en-suite bath.
Plus a closet.
There's no dedicated home gym, they're using one of the bedrooms.
Really, this is the best room in the house.
Very nice bath, at least it has some color.
Part office, part bedroom.
Another lackluster bedroom. No architectural details, and bland gray.
A large deck surrounds the house. It looks like a chunk of cement came off that cone shaped piece.
The land measures 6 acres.
The exterior looks very castle-like, but the inside is disappointing.
This home is gigantic- look at the size of the unfinished basement.
The upkeep has to be astronomical.

Castle House
Brumley, Missouri
In 1812, with various buildings on the property, the current home wasn’t built until around 1850 by Dr. Walter Dixon. This was when it was called the Castle House due to its unusual style.
One Saturday, Mrs. Dixon was preparing for her a large party but passed away before her guests arrived. Her husband found her body at the head of the stairs. In 1862, Union troops camped near the house. After Confederate troops attacked, a truce was called, and injured soldiers from both sides were brought to the Castle House for treatment. Later it was sold to Dr. Myron D. Jones in 1912. He also had his office in the house. In 1918, when the flu pandemic hit Brumley, he put tents in the yard to house the hundreds of sick patients.
Multiple reports of a woman in an old fashioned party dress lingering at the top of the stair have been reported. There have been reports of disembodied screams on the second floor as well. There was a field hospital set up on the south side of the house. It is said that there are at least 20 known graves on the property, which are thought to be casualties from this skirmish. The rest could be the victims of the flu epidemic. Most are unmarked, found by cadaver dogs.
Beginning in 2013, Castle House was restored with the intent to run it as a bed and breakfast until the paranormal activity began. The Castle House is for sale, Can be yours for $119,900 dubbed the most haunted house in the midwest.

Found a 1929 castle house under $1M. This one is in St. Louis, Missouri, has 4bds, 3ba, and is for sale for $640K.
The entrance hall is very nice and kind of reminds me of a Tudor style home.
There's the castle knight. Gotta have a knight. I like the iron gates.
Nice sitting room with leaded glass windows, view or the porch, and more railings.
This is nice- large archways, a sunken living room, and steps with railings. Gives the home architectural interest.
This is lovely- a raised dining area, and more stairs and railings.
The kitchen is a modest size, I don't really like the cabinets and tile counter.
This is the formal dining room. It doesn't really look like a dining room, if it wasn't for the table & chairs.
The formal sitting room has an impressive fireplace.
The main bedroom is large- look at the size of those armoires.
Love the en-suite bath. Very art deco. Looks like the pink tile's been renewed, but the green plumbing fixtures are fantastic.
Oh, look at the en-suite bath with the home office. Lilac fixtures.
2 more bedrooms are decent sizes.
The basement looks partially finished and is nice and bright.
This porch is so cozy.
Nice patio in the garden.
Plus a 3 car garage.

Go Goa
Goa is the paradise of South Asia! It is not only a state, but also an emotion, hence we must visit at least once in our lives. It has stunning beaches, vibrant nightlife, colonial architecture, and an emotional appeal for everyone.
Now let's talk about my first time in Goa.
My husband and I were supposed to come here for our honeymoon back in 2012, but in reality, we arrived on our 11th wedding anniversary with our 6-year-old daughter Mahi and Shinzo , our furry companion . We set out from Hyderabad at 2:30 a.m. on March 4 ,with a lot of enthusiasm and a fresh mind. After crossing ORR, we took the Bachi-Raichur highway. My man took couple of brief naps as we started too early, but it paid off later as we were able to reach our pet-friendly resort, Castle House, at around 4.30 p.m on the same day. Yes, we didn't take any hault, and didn't waste much time except the nature's call . It was a pleasant, smooth journey throughout.
We didn't stop for breakfast or lunch Since we had enough comestibles—10 liters of water, cake, biscuits, juice, oranges, cucumber, wafers, chocolates, chips, nachos, badam laddoo, etc. Here, one might want to make sure to have enough food since, until Belagavi, you won't always be able to locate a decent location to eat on the highway.
Some even take haults in Belagavi which is simply 2.5hrs ( 108km) away from north Goa . At the Goa police checkpoint, authorities scrutinise all documents, including PUC and insurance; Therefore, make sure to carry all the paper work you require.
Our lodging, Castle House is a pool resort that welcomes pets and is located in the heart of the city, being at a walking distance from Calangute beach and Baga beach. We fell in love with Goa right away because of its vibrant churches and colourful houses. .
The next day, we left early for a boat ride in Calangute beach, where one can see playful dolphins and do scuba diving under the sun. We went to Baga beach to unwind with a highly recommended foot massage. After enjoying a complimentary and delicious breakfast, we set out to Aguada fort ,the Tibetan market, and Mama Louka cafe for dinner. At Mama Louka, which is close to Anjuna Beach and where Goa's nightlife can be experienced, you'll think you're in Greece.
The next morning, we set out for South Goa Palolem Beach following superfluous breakfast. The road is smooth and beautiful. Our drive to Pacific Sunset View Resort in Palolem took approximately 2.5 hours. We had a magnificent and captivating view from our cottage on the first floor, of the monkey island, hills, and the entire sea beach from the courtyard. Palolem is a rocky beach where we saw the little black crabs work incessantly on the rocks.
The charming cottage inspired me to record a reel where I danced to the song "Calm down". We relished Goan prawn masala and chicken xacuti, which are coconut based local dishes for lunch , followed by a beach walk on the sun kissed Palolem . Numerous tourists from diverse countries were basking in the sun and taking pleasure in the salty water. The overall clean and noise free beach is a bliss for the perfect relaxation .
The next morning we took the dolphin trip boat ride which covered Monkey island , Tortoise rock , Honeymoon beach and the Butterfly beach . Goa, undoubtedly, is incomplete without a Tequila shot . Later in the evening we headed to Agonda beach to witness the sunset and to have coconut water , followed by candle light dinner on the beach with butter roti , egg curry and butter chicken .
By this time, I was little disheartened as our trip was about to come to an end . Nevertheless , after breakfast with paneer paratha , we left for North Goa , to not miss the foot massage on the Baga beach and enjoy the festival of colours "Holi". We stopped at Benaulim Beach and the Basilica of Bom Jesus on the way. I decided to get a permanent tattoo of a fairy on my right arm, which will also serve as a souvenir of this trip . On the last evening in the vibrant city , we had the famous Vada Pav along with Harman Tea. Later in the evening , we walked towards the Tibetan market and bought dream catchers , fridge magnet and tortoise shape bag as a remembrance of this beautiful place . The Goan Cabo had to be packed in the backpack before leaving on the return trip.
The next morning, after a healthy breakfast with aloo paratha , we started towards Hyderabad at around 9.30am in the morning . We took Amboli Ghat road this time and thanks to apple map , the GPS directed us to a short cut and made us reach home around 10.30 pm at night . On the way, we could see few monkeys , cashew plants and the beautiful Amboli waterfalls .
A BIG Thanks to my life partner who made this trip a truly "Trip of the year " which was nothing less than an international Phuket trip .

Continuing the tour upstairs, we have this long (and very green) hallway, which splits off to numerous rooms.
At the end of the hallway furthest from the stairs is Barrett's office. He has it locked at all times, even when he's alone in here, working on secret projects.
Then we have his and Letitia's bedroom, which has the balcony over the front porch, complete with telescope for Barrett to look for aliens and for Letitia to keep an eye out for wolves. 🤣 (Lost count of how many times I laughed when she kept rolling that want!) There's also an ensuite bathroom for them.
Next door along is the doorway to Alfie's bedroom, up a ladder (of course)
Down on the first floor and next to Alfie's bedroom entrance is Serena's bedroom, who has an ensuite as well (forgot to picture)
Then the last room on this floor is a small hobby room, which'll probably become Cyril's bedroom when he's older.

I won't lie, renovating these past two houses have made me want to create my own little batch of characters that may or might not be similar to the ones created by @antisocialbunnysims. 🤔😊😇 It might just be for my own gameplay, I haven't really decided yet. If you'd like to see that, by all means let me know.
