Will Solace is an age regressor

ok ok here me out...

He's under a lot of stress and he feels like he has to be in charge because he's afraid that if he relinquishes control to someone else, they'll screw it up and people will end up hurt.

But he's a doctor, and sometimes, when you're a doctor... Sometimes, your patients die. Especially if they're demigods. And when that happens, he feels guilty and scared and angry, like he's no good for anything and everything is spiraling out of control and he can't even feel any of those feelings out because he has to push them down and move on to the next patient. Especially not now that he's 25 and works in a mortal hospital.

He wasn't even able to process the deaths of his older brothers, because he was a war medic and had to save as many people as he could.

But when he gets home, he can fall apart all he wants. And he wants to fall apart. Maybe he even wants to hurt himself, but he's learned not to.

So what does he do instead?

He regresses.

Regresses to a time before he knew death, before he understood what it meant.

And at first, it's not the cute, calming age regression that gets shown off on social media. It's heartbreaking to watch, this poor man who's had to act like an adult since before he was even a teenager, curled up on the floor, sometimes sucking his thumb, sometimes rocking back and forth, hugging his knees, other times kicking the wall and throwing around soft things made for throwing, always crying and screaming and tearing his hair out, having the kind of meltdown that isn't socially acceptable for a grown man to have, no matter how understandable it is.

But Nico knows what to do when he gets like this. He smells the death radiating from him, wafting through the house, he hears the crying, the high-pitched yelling that he can't do anything right and that it's all his fault and he should just die already so he can stop killing the people he's supposed to save. It tears his heart to shreds, even after hearing it a million times.

He gathers up his weighted blanket, and his stuffed cow, and his paci, and he kneels with him on the floor, lovingly wrapping the blanket around him and holding out his comfort items. He always asks if Nico washed it before putting it in his mouth, because even in littlespace, he's still afraid of germs. And Nico says yes, because of course he did. He washes it every night when Will hands it over to sleep, and every morning before Will leaves for work, just in case he needs it when he comes back home. Will puts it in his mouth and relaxes almost instantly, melting into Nico as he fully sinks into littlespace.

If he's verbal enough and awake enough, Nico has him do vocal affirmations once he's willing to take his paci out of his mouth, 'repeat after me, ok? I did my best, I am loved, I am worthy, I deserve to live, I deserve to be happy.' And sometimes Will can't get through them all, and he just bursts into tears again, and Nico comforts him and says it's ok if he's overwhelmed and they can try again after he's calmed down. But sometimes he can do it, and Nico keeps telling him how proud he is, that he did a good job and he knows it's hard saying those things when you have a hard time believing them, even though inside, he's breaking apart, because to him, Will is the most perfect person in the world, and it's so unfair that he feels so unloved, so worthless, that those words, that are supposed to be comforting, instead make him cry. But he'll put those emotions aside, just for a little bit, to take care of his little. He can cry it out later, when Will's big again, or with someone else who's not in such a delicate, tender headspace. For now, he'll make Will macaroni and cheese and let him change out of his big boy clothes, and when he has to go to bed, Nico will read him a story or sing him to sleep, and he'll snuggle next to him, one of the few times he's truly happy.

Sometimes, he'll regress all the way to infancy, before he could talk, but he'll still be awake. And it's up to Nico to tend to him, to make sure he's clean and fed and comfortable. Try to interpret his whines for attention to figure out what he needs.

But most of the time, he'll fall asleep in Nico's arms, before being able to change out of his bloody scrubs, or even relinquish the paci, waiting to be picked up and carried to bed and tucked in. It's exhausting being a nurse, after all, death or no death. Nico knows that he'll panic when he wakes up and sees blood all over his clothes, but he's not gonna strip him while he's asleep. He knows how to calm him down when he's little. So instead he just admires him for a while, how peaceful he looks when he's asleep, still suckling on his paci. And his empathetic, clawed-apart heart will heal once more, seeing his little one soothed and comforted and undistressed, hugging his stuffie in his sleep.

PJO Agere Headcanons (Part II)

Characters: Nico di Angelo and Will Solace

Nico di Angelo

I think Nico is a flip, with a heavy caregiver lean. He’s a relatively strict yet caring caregiver. And when he does regress, he’s very quiet and reserved and pretty independent.

When he’s a caregiver, he does better with littles who are slightly older, mainly because he does a lot of stuff and he needs to be able to trust you whenever he has to take you on his little adventures.

When he’s a little, he’s a slightly older kid himself, around 8-10, depending on the day. He’s independent. He likes coloring, playing outside, and playing with his Monster High dolls.

As a caregiver, he likes to call you “Gattino”, “Amore Mio”, etc. The nicknames make you giggle and blush and he thinks they’re adorable and very fitting.

As a little, he thinks it feels weird to call you a parental term, so he calls you a shortened version of your name, just your name, or some sort of other nickname.

He loves spoiling you. He comes from a rich family and his dad is the god of wealth. This boy has a LOT of money. He’ll buy you whatever you need or want.

He’s surprisingly pretty good at comforting you if you ever have a meltdown or a PTSD episode, mainly because he has nightmares really frequently and knows what it’s like to be so afraid and vulnerable.

He is insanely protective and kind of strict. You have to go to bed at a specific time, if you’re regressed you have to sleep in the same cabin (he does not care that that’s technically not allowed), you have to eat enough food at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. He will threaten anyone who dares make fun of you.

Will Solace

I think he’s a caregiver! He’s a very sweet, playful, and energetic caregiver. He has rules to keep you safe and healthy, but there aren’t many.

He goes great with littles of all ages, but he loves how playful and hyper toddler regressors are. And he also loves how easily amazed and pleased they are. It’s really amusing to him.

He loves calling you “Sunshine”, “Darlin”, “Baby”, etc. He babies you SOOO MUCH, constantly calling you sweet little nicknames and telling you how much he loves you.

He LOVES playing with you so much, mainly because it makes you so happy! If you’re coloring, he’ll color with you. If you’re playing with your dolls, give him one, he’ll play with you. He just loves making you happy and spending time with you.

He spoils you as much as he can. Sometimes, his mom will send him money, and then with permission from Chiron and Mr. D, he’ll leave Camp and just buy a bunch of toys for you.

He’s also extremely good at comforting you and calming you down during and after episodes. If you don’t want him to touch you, he’ll just calm you down with his words and his voice. If you do want him to touch you, he’ll hold you so tight and just snuggle with you and kiss your little face. :(

He’s not too strict, but he does have rules that you must follow. He sets a bedtime, you have to eat enough food everyday, he makes you shower every other day, you have to brush your teeth twice a day everyday, etc. Just rules to make sure you’re healthy and taking care of yourself!

hiii I think that Annabeth Chase and Bianca di Angelo are regressors!!! Percy and Grover are regressors post-chalice of the gods, because I think a bit of the Hebe stuff lingers. Also because I can hit percy with the agere beam.

Thalia is a caregiver, and specifically a big sister caregiver to Annabeth!! She takes care of Annabeth whenever she calls, and will absolutely drop her hunter duties in a heartbeat for her. (taking care of her reminds her of the old days, and also of taking care of Jason)

Annabeth's favorite comfort items are her Teddy Bear (canon) and Thalia's old leather jacket, which Thalia gave her before she was turned into a tree.

Annabeth is really good with her younger siblings, and super close with them!!

I don't have many regressor hcs for Bianca yet, but I do think that she wouldn't let Nico see her regressed.

Aurelia Luther:

⚡️ Daughter of Zeus, and currently the only occupant of Cabin 1.

⚡️ Trans woman, lesbian, uses she/they pronouns.

⚡️ Arrived at Camp when she was twelve, just a couple months after Thalia was “revived”. Currently fifteen years old.

⚡️ Immediately clung to Thalia. She was and still is her biggest role model.

⚡️ Also alternative like Thalia, but not punk! She’s more so cybergoth.

⚡️ She has blonde hair with dyed bright blue bangs, a septum piercing, an eyebrow piercing, and a vertical labret. All of which she did herself. Just for fun.

⚡️ Used to have a fat crush on Rachel; was extremely disappointed when she found out that Rachel is not allowed to date.

⚡️ Got along pretty well with Jason when he was alive lol. Aurelia may be chaotic and a bit immature, but she’s also a leader and can step up when needed, which is something that Jason admires.

⚡️ Flip with a caregiver lean! When she does regress, she’s even more hyper and chaotic, and her little ages are around 4-6 years old. When she’s a caregiver, she’s more of a big sister or a cool aunt!

Indra Pruitt:

🌊 Son of Poseidon, and also currently the only occupant of Cabin 3, as Percy has left for college in New Rome.

🌊 Arrived at Camp at eleven years old. Is currently fourteen years old.

🌊 Gets along relatively well with Percy, although he wishes they were closer. Percy just hasn’t had time to really get to know Indra because of how busy he always is.

🌊 He likes grunge music and grunge fashion, but is often too lazy to actually put any effort into his outfits.

🌊 Has dark brown, short, straight hair, tan skin, sea green eyes, a septum piercing, and has a seashell necklace that his dad (mortal dad— mpreg is canon in this universe LOL) gave him.

🌷 Daughter of Demeter, camp counselor of Cabin 4. Although she’ll stay at Camp Jupiter for weeks at a time occasionally, so someone else takes over for her often.

🌷 Cisgender woman, pansexual, uses she/her pronouns.

🌷 Got to Camp Half-blood just two years ago, but she’s a year round camper and really likes it there. She’s sixteen years old.

🌷 Loves gardening, as you can imagine.

🌷 She’s also a huge stoner, and she grows her own weed. Chiron and Mr. D have definitely caught on but, to be honest, they have better things to do than to worry about a teenager doing average teenage bullshit.

🌷 Gets along great with her siblings! She acts more like a mom to them than an older sister. They come to her for advice a lot.

🌷 Dresses kinda indie, but not too overboard. She’ll wear like. A green crop top, overalls, a headband, and some Kandi bracelets or something.

🌷 Had a really big crush on Leo, but was way too scared to confess. And she felt silly about it. She’s still really close to him, and often Iris calls him. Also might still have that crush on him.

🌷 Has long, dark brown, afro textured hair that she usually keeps in bohemian braids. She has light brown skin and hazel-green eyes.

🌷 Best friends with Hazel Levesque! First met her right after the war with Gaia, when the seven were all at CHB (minus Leo for obvious reasons 💀) and they immediately clicked. She confessed to her about her crush on Leo, because Leo’s “death” really broke her heart and she needed to get it out to someone.

🌷 Whenever Hazel visits or she visits Hazel, she does Hazel’s hair. Just because she likes to. Also does the hair of the other black girls at camp.

🌷 Little!! Biggest baby ever. Her age range varies, but it’s always somewhere between 0-4. She regresses harder the more stressed she is, but she’s almost always in at least the toddler stage.

🌷 Hazel and Frank are her main caregivers. She calls them “mama” and “dada” and both Hazel and Frank think it’s super adorable.

🌷 There was this one time, Frank and Hazel were talking to Leo when Leo was visiting Camp Jupiter, and Floraline was SUPER regressed. She just shyly waddled up to Leo, handed him a little pink flower, and then waddled away as quickly as she possibly could.

🌷 Hazel and Frank started laughing. Leo was mildly confused but flattered!

Petra Hansley:

🩸 Daughter of Ares, camp counselor of Cabin 5.

🩸 Demigirl, bisexual, uses she/they pronouns.

🩸 Arrived at Camp Half-Blood four years ago. Is really close to Clarisse. Or at least she was.

🩸 Petra has bad BPD, and Clarisse was the only person she had for a while, so Petra became super attached to Clarisse. But when Clarisse went off to college, Petra saw that as Clarisse abandoning her. So Petra became distant and closed off and stopped Iris messaging her.

🩸 Gets along fairly well with her siblings. She actually likes them, even though they are kind of assholes.

🩸 Instructs the sword fighting and Pegasus riding lessons. Whenever there’s a newcomer, she’s use them as a “demonstration” during sword fighting. Just to embarrass them. She’s mean like that.

🩸 Likes punk fashion a lot. Her and Thalia bond over this sometimes. Her and Thalia have a love-hate relationship. One moment, they’re each others biggest supports and hyping each other up. The next, they’re each others biggest haters and are shitting on each other LOL.
