Ship Asks

1 - How do they fall asleep? Wake up? Any daily rituals?

Cuddled up to each other and wrapped up in a blanket. They usually switch with who’s the little spoon. Gil usually wakes up sprawled out, but still holding onto Matt in some way.

Well the two get up around the same time and will stay in bed for a few minutes and just cuddle. But then Gil has to get up to get his morning jog in. Matt stays in bed for a bit before heading to go make breakfast for the two of them. By the time Gilbert gets back and they both eat.

5 - Nicknames? Pet names? Any in-jokes?

Canada likes to call Gilbert Gil, babe, dear, and if he really wants to annoy Gil, he’ll call him Pooh Bear.

Gilbert’s go to nickname is birdie, but also sometimes babe and schatz.

10 - Who drives? Cooks? Does the handiwork? Cleans? Pays the bills? Handles the public?

They take turns driving. Matthew primarily does the cooking while Gilbert does the handiwork (but they will occasionally switch if the time calls for it. They both clean, but Gilbert is very particular so he’ll often go above and beyond and even redo areas Mattie already did. They usually split bills. Gilbert handles the public because Matt is not the best at public speaking and dealing with crowds.

11 - Do they celebrate holidays? Anniversaries?

Absolutely. Though for holidays like Christmas, if they don’t do a big celebration with both their families, they’ll celebrate together the day before and celebrate the actual day with their families. Also, for holidays like Easter and Christmas, Matthew will go to mass with Gil though Mattie isn’t really religious.

They also celebrate anniversaries and Gil seems to have an anniversary for everything: first kiss, first date, first time they said i love you, when they first got together, etc. Mattie finds it sweet.

Made a little 2 page comic based on the Krampus!AU.:)

In wich Gilbert familly is “cursed” to have one of their familly member changing into a Krampus during most of the winter and having to play the role in the region. Gil bro left home to go live with his boyfriend and so hearing that Gil would be alone this year, matthew decide to go surprise his penpal friend (Crush) for the holiday because he is alone too this year.

Sadly when Matthew got there no one was home since Gil was spooking kids in the woods and so he waited by the door and fell asleep. (No worries Gil will make him a warm drink to go with the explanation of why he has hooves and a long tail.XD)

44 (Angst): "What am I in your life? Because as of lately I feel as though I've been nothing to you."

Matthew watched expressionlessly as Gilbert dusted some spotless shelf, only God knows what he saw there that needed cleaning. He threw the tissue he had used in the trash, then turned to Matthew with his usual grin, the one that Matthew once loved but now struck an ache in his heart. The grin then fell at the lack of expression the other wore. "Mattie, is everything okay?" He asked this with genuine worry, and Matthew couldn't fathom how. "What do you think, Gilbert?"

A multitude of emotions ran across Gilbert's features, ending in one that was now both confused and extremely concerned. "I don't think it is… What happened?" The question was again, genuine, and it just ticked off Matthew even further, however, he kept his next words calm; "What am I in your life? Because as of lately I feel as though I've been nothing to you."

Those words made Gilbert freeze and stare at him with wide eyes, and stumble on his reply a bit; "What do you mean by that? What did I do wrong? I did something wrong, right?"

"You barely pay any attention to me."

"But I-"

"No, shut up for once in your life." The look of hurt made Matthew regret what he said, but he knew he had to continue with this if he wanted to get anywhere. "You barely pay any attention to me. You're always doing other things. I'm not saying you should spend your whole life just with me, I know you have other things to do, but can you really spare me no more time than maybe an hour a day if I'm lucky? We're in a relationship, Gilbert. Generally, you make some effort to spend time with these people."

There was a thick silence afterwards, neither of the two saying anything for a good while, before Gilbert swallowed thickly, his expression now unreadable, and said; "I can't. I do my best Matthew, I swear I do, but I have studies, and I have work, and I have a brother-"

"So do I."

"Well you don't have to work until nine PM."

That made Matthew stop and stare. Why did Gilbert have to work so late? He voiced that question.

"Because… I just really need the money." Gilbert looked away, folding his arms, telltale signs to Matthew that there was something Gilbert wasn't telling him. "What're you not telling me?"

"…I'm kind of broke." He muttered, as though ashamed of the fact. With that statement, it all made sense. It explained why Gilbert seemed to have no time for Matthew, why he refused to buy many things or eat out, and why his sleep schedule had clearly gotten even worse.

Immediately, the earlier slight guilt Matthew felt returned, and redoubled. "I'm-I'm so sorry, Gil, why didn't you tell me?" He moved over to stand closer to Gilbert, an instinctive move. "Because then you'd want to help, and I don't want you to get problems because you're helping me, and y'know… Shit like that…" Was the response, and that made Matthew give a sigh.

"Gil, that's the point of a relationship. I love you, so I'd want to help you even if it gives me problems. We're supposed to help each other. Please tell me next time, I thought you maybe… Stopped loving me or something."

"No, obviously not! I don't just stop loving people." Gilbert said quickly, and Matthew nodded, relieved, and pulled him into a hug. He felt so bad now. "I'm sorry." He apologised again.

"Nah, that one's on me, I mean, I guess I should've told you." Gilbert returned the hug with those words. "I'm sorry too."
