Rather annoyed by the notion that the ‘mastermind not being seen’ or ‘not being a player’ in the case of an Ouma twin situation means that it ‘wouldn’t work’ and is ‘just the same as bringing out Kaede’s twin at the 11th hour’

I mean... no? In a case like this ‘not being seen’ is the entire point (yknow just as Tsumugi sitting around doing basically fuckall is seen as the entire point of her, but when she does it it’s ‘cool and meaningful to her character’). And it’s not like there are no clues evident: to name but a few, Ouma’s lab not being present in the Survivor Perk, the hatch, monitors and the vault clues, the history book just lying around in his lab along with that (that’s going to be turned into ‘fiction’- like that in itself isn’t threatening?), Angie’s ‘god’ knowing peoples’ ideals as a ‘background force’ thing, the writing on the stone tablet matching the ‘this world’ speech from Monokuma, Ouma's whole mastermind-persona coupled with foreshadowing the ending in his FTE... need I go on?

It’s one thing if you personally don’t like it, that’s not what I’m taking umbrage with. What I’m taking umbrage with, is: how are you gonna sit there and compare all of that to the sheer asspull energy of bringing out Kaede’s or Kaito’s (? WHAT?) twin when neither of them ever even connect anything to such a persona? I just . How??

i think the thing with jamie though, in all seriousness, is that he's super flexible in terms of setting? the first season of outlander is based in mid 1700s scotland, the second season is based in pre-revolutionary paris, the third season is based in the mid 1700s caribbean ( and i have and will continue to be flexible with that so that he can meet all the pirates ), and anything from s4 onwards fits the revolutionary america era. the show/books are just huge in their historical scope, and the nature of jamie starting in the clan culture of highland scotland (which aligns perfectly with any medieval/fantasy setting), and then shifting to the colonial and seafaring scope of the caribbean and america just means that i have so much space to play around in? so who needs canon compliance/diana putting her characters through unnecessary sexual trauma when you have such a big playground

My version of the wardrobe template! yay!! I had a LOT of fun doing this and feel like I could elaborate a bit more on each of those.

It's already linked up here, but here's once again a > link to the post.< Anyway! More about these designs below!

So first, for WKX's template! - Chapter 2: Grey robes I had already made my design of those for the full TYK lineup I made a while back. I really, really like those, and took inspiration from some of the robes SHL!WKX wears in the show for the shapes. - Chapter 69: dark robes with dark red belt I expected to like that style for him, but not that much! I had seen a tutorial on how asymetrical hanfus were worn by archers in the past and that inspired me, purely on a fashion level of course. I like how intimidating he looks with those and enjoy the touches of blue in the inner layer of the robes. - Chapter 75: dark red robes The GVM robes! which I also designed a while back when researching for the illustrations of the Mt Fengya battle scenes that I wanted to make. I reworked them just a little bit and got rid of some details that I didn't like anymore. I tremendously pleated skirts for WKX so I went at it once again. I also used shifts in hues to make it look like it could have been drenched in blood. - Extra 5: deep red robes For the reminder (since apparently some people are not aware of extra 5's existance), this extra is set 5 years post-canon. I wanted WKX to wear something that looked comfortable for traveling but also practical and fashionable. The teal jacket is of course another nod at SHL since the red and teal combo was an absolute banger. Let's say I didn't want WKX to just sport an all-red look. Furthermore, the teal really works to adorn the red hues. - My personal favourite I actually don't really know whether those are my actual personal favourites, but I've come to LOVE WKX dressed in red and white thanks to @kwehxing's designs. I think it really suits him and on top of that it avoids the question "is this Hua Cheng" LMAO--okay jokes aside, I combined most of the shapes that I really like for WKX (wider shoulders, wide sleeves, and long robes with pleated inner robes) and I find him very elegant like this. Now, for ZZS! - Chapter 1: sapphire blue scholar robes Those had already been designed before as well! They're my go to generic TC!ZZS robes, haha. I was a bit extra with the blue colour here, but oh well. I'm quite obsessed with the silver brocade cynching his waist, haha. - Chapter 2: stolen farmer robes A classic as well as far as I'm concerned--of course, inspired by his hobo fit in SHL because it was quite efficient. I'm forever fond of my scruffy hobo!Xu and his toes poking from his sandals. - Chapter 18: luxurious robes from the Gao family Those were a new design! Which I had a lot of fun coming up with. Putting ZZS in a different colour scheme was also really nice. For those who don't remember, ZZS feels quite ridiculous when he sees himself in a mirror wearing those fancy robes while being so emaciated and still sporting his hobo mask. I wanted to give this "out of place" feeling; and also work on a very "wuxia" style for the robes, since this is jianghu and they were provided by Gao Chong. - Extra 5: black robes I'm incredibly fond of this design. I worked quite a bit on it, since I wasn't sure of where I wanted to go. My main guidelines were: practical and cool. I really like ZZS having a lot of room to move so ideally not too much fabric in the way, and I think he also needs arm braces to be rid of annoying sleeves. Of course, him looking much healthier and having a dynamic ponytail really works to "complete the look", and I find that he looks really cool there haha. - My personal favourite This one has been refined over the months, but it's definitely, overall, my favourite look for him in terms of shapes and construction. I like that the robes are short, I like the more fashionable jacket. I'm especially into the "pants tucked into the boots" silhouette, as well as the little ribbons keeping them tight around the ankles. I'd say that this leg shape + short robes + a bun (or sometimes a ponytail) is THE ZZS design combo for me, haha. It looks practical and fun and adventurous, just how I like it.

To conclude the whole post, I had more fun doing this than I even expected, and needless to say that I'm very excited to see other versions of them following this template. It was a good opportunity to try and project what the characters look like throughout the book, and a fun design exercise as well. I actually don't really like doing character design usually, but for characters I'm obsessed with, it's of course a much nicer experience. Anyway, thank you for reading!

Meanwhile William's side of the family are arguably equally as insane as Sherlock and Liam so they're just a horde of weirdly rich crazy uncles that take Ron out on questionable adventures, Sherlock's side of the family aka John, Mary and Ms. Hudson is relatively normal in comparison but still dote on Ron - Mycroft repeatedly says that he can't believe his little brother is now responsible for taking care of a child, pretends he doesn't give a shit and yet somehow always ends up visiting his nephew.

Sherlock is still a free-lance private detective/consultant for the police force who takes cases whenever they come around, and when Ron asks him why he's usually home he jokes around that he's a kept man/housewife because William was rich when he married him, to which Liam laughs and asks if he even knows how to boil water without burning it -

It can be up to you whether or not William was or is in crime or not, I can imagine in a modern au he could've been the leader of an organized crime group for whatever reason, eventually decided to get out etc. etc.

And then Ron still meets Toto and brings home his cop boyfriend to meet his batshit crazy parents and one of them is a former CRIME LORD LMAO

seeing a "Mike is completely oblivious to his feelings and doesn't know he's in love with Will" take float on my dash from the wild and... i'm sorry i hate this interpretations so much. everyone can see things differently, but Mike having no clue of his own feelings makes absolutely no sense with what we see on screen to me. none

if this is ranty ignore little old me, i just need to complain today lmao

not only does Mike pause to look at Will's lips multiple times, which you could maybe argue he just doesn't realize anymore (doubtful since it's not something he's always done, it only started in s3 which is less than a full year away from s4 canonically)

there's also the whole fact that nothing else of his s4 conflict would make sense anymore. if Mike didn't know he didn't love El, what was he worried about telling her then, that she wouldn't like the truth of? it can't be that he loves her because he knows she would like that. Mike has to consciously be aware of something he knows he should tell El, but can't, because he's scared of how she'll take it

the same also goes for the sbp scene where Mike looks back at Will, shocked or conflicted, because Will is pushing him to confess to El. the initial shock would be inappropriate if Mike was already planning to tell El he loved her anyways and had no idea he actually loved Will

it also means that Mike didn't intentionally lie during the monologue with is almost more egregious because we saw Mike talk to the other's about sending El to Pennhurst with 0 concerns. he didn't know El overheard that so it might be something he thinks El could believe. but he himself would remember that he didn't "fall in love with her that moment", saying otherwise just makes Mike look like the dumbest, most unaware character in the whole show by far. not even just the show, it would probably make him one of the most oblivious characters out of Any show i can think of right now actually

it would also make no sense why we're completely barred from Mike's inner feelings during the monologue. if Mike genuinely believed what he was saying we'd be allowed to know his thoughts, since they wouldn't spoil anything yet. but alas, not only does Finn keep his lips sealed, even the rough drafts from three years ago skip over his internal feelings or thoughts completely which is extremely unusual for an emotional monologue of this importance and magnitude

everything else aside, the idea that Mike would just. not realize. he's queer and in love with his best friend is kind of bizarre to me. it really plays into the fanon version of Mike who is inhumanly oblivious and stupid. because canon Mike is actually not that bad with feelings, he can articulate himself if he wants to and he can pick up on and explain complex emotions he himself feels all the way back in s1. saying that Mike is genuinely too oblivious to realize his feelings isn't at all in line with his canon characterization

and besides it not making sense for his character. it's also a nonsensical choice from a writers perspective. if Mike would genuinely be unaware of his feelings for Will and his queerness; Byler would be rushed. i'm excited for Byler as much as the next person but this would be a horrible way to go about it. because s5 would then need to include:

Mike realizing he's not in love with El

Mike realizing he's queer

Mike dealing with the consequences of being queer in the 80s/coming to terms with said queerness to the point he feels comfortable acting on it

Mike realizing he's in love with Will

Mike and El finally breaking up

Mike and Will confessing to each other and getting together

that is an absurd amount of things to cram into a single seasons and essentially a character 180 in 8ish episodes. and all these points also need space and time to breathe to sit well with the audience. having Mike realize he's not in love with El and realize he's in love with Will would need a significant pause in between to feel good for the audience, but there's only so much time left. that will feel rushed no matter how well you write it. if they just revealed Mike being queer and in love with Will to the audience while having him already be aware of it we'd skip steps 1-4 on this list. the audience getting new information and recontextualizing things that already happened takes significantly less time than having a character go through the realizations first hand since that takes more development time

at this point, there's no way to write Mike realizing he's queer from scratch well with only one season left. there just isn't. especially with the amount of plot we need to cover in s5, the action, and all the other characters that need solid endings. opening a whole new can of worms for Mike is counterproductive. last seasons close character arcs, they don't kick new one's up that would take forever to properly flesh out

the thing that just really bothers me about this whole, "Mike doesn't know yet, he's oblivious" narrative, besides making little sense from a writer's pov and directly contradicting his canon character. is also that most takes just read extremely belittling. because a lot of people who say this seem to be aware that there won't be time to properly explore Mike's character or feelings like this. and they're fine with it because Mike will just be "Will's boyfriend", and only Will needs to come to terms with his queerness, Mike doesn't need an arc. and it's weird. the idea that Mike will have his whole queer realization in s5 hinges on the fact that Mike's character isn't important enough to get a fully fleshed out arc/time to naturally move from point A to point B, and that he'll just go from one relationship to the next with no problems

Something that I always think about when I see people arguing against those in the aroace community that want them to stop ignoring Alastor's identity is...what are you stanning?

Certainly not canon Alastor. As far as I'm concerned, as a writer and artist, a character's sexuality is part of their character itself, no matter if it's explored or treated as another trivia about them, it's still part of their character and partly influences their actions.

By erasing his aroace identity you take away part of his character, a big part too. So you're only simping for the sexualised romanticised version of him the fandom has created, because in actuality Alastor would never act that way.

At this point just pick another character who is actually open to these things and leave the one spec of rep we have alone

Miguel was a hard working man, and sure that was great, it meant that the universe stayed the way it should, canon events happening at the right moments, millions alive because of him, but sometimes, he came off..a bit much. While you knew you were nothing special, occasionally, he would glare his fangs at you a little less than the other workers in the building if you ever suggested some carefree criticism.

As of maybe two days ago, Your boss/lover..kind of, a man that you had slept with countless times but he refused to deeply talk with you, had just 'failed dramatically' in the words off Jess. No one had seen him since, despite constantly asking Lyla for information, she had nothing and you took it upon yourself to knock on his door nervously, your ankles rubbing together as you stared at the ground. To your dismay, you heard no reply, just the same banging and clashing that had been ringing through the building since he went in there.

With a sharp inhale, you pushed the door open and peaked in, the place was a wreck, he was hunched over his desk, his hands gripping at the corners as his chest heaved, his suit looking ripped in various areas. "Sinceramente no peudo mas, no peudo mas" He stood straight, pinching the bridge of his nose and pacing back and forth, his large back flexing under his suit. "maldito" He mumbled.

Suddenly, you cleared your throat, looking around at the rubble that once was furniture. He finally acknowledged your presence, eyes wide, pupils blown and eyebrows knitted into a tight frown. "What?" He asked, shaking his head in confusion, his tone passive aggressive.

You opened your mouth to speak but grew nervous under his dark glare through his lashes, his eyes shining a darker red hue than usual compared to the dim lighting of the room "God- Fucking damnit! Qué quieres chica?!" He yelled and you put your hands up in defense, not wanting to piss him off "Shit Miguel, I'm just checking on you" You choked out.

He strode over, his large frame towering over you more and more as his feet padded against the floor.His cheekbones were a little more defined than usual, his eyes were sunken, his lips were dry, a small line of old blood on one side of his bottom lip, you wanted so desperately to clean him up, help him rest but you knew the stubborn, emotionally cut off 6,9 man wouldn't allow it. "oh yeah? Get out, I'm fine"

He scowled and turned away, standing next to a half broken chair, he placed his large hands on the edge of it, gripping so hard his knuckles began to turn a lighter shade, his eyes squinting. You could see a gash in his back, his suit ripped perfectly around it, both dry and wet blood surrounding it. "Your still here, cariño" He grunted, The chair simply shattering in his grip, in fright, you jumped, eyes widening, but he was still, it was uncanny how nonreactive he was.

"I-i can't just leave you like this, Miguel-" A few droplets of deep red spilled onto the floor, directly from his palms and you gasped "fuck, your bleeding! Please just let me help you" You apprehensively sauntered over to him, this time he said nothing, his head straight down. "Come to my room? I have a first aid kit, you wont have to go to medical" He hated medical. He inhaled roughly and looked down at you with undignified eyes, groaning with a nod.

With concern, you pulled him to your room, hand on his forearm as he held his palms upwards, blood pooling in the lines of them but luckily, it wasn't that far, and you were able to get there quick and unseen, for his sake. You let go of his arm to unlock your door, pushing t open and he took in another deep breath, you assumed out of anger control or nerves but deep down he couldn't handle being this close to you and your personal life, your room smelt so strongly of you, everything matched your personality, even the mess draped on the floor.

You mumbled an apology before tugging him into your bathroom but he just shook his head "Idiota, no me importa" he murmured, leaning on the bathroom counter. His eyes followed your frame as you grew frantic at how much he was bleeding. He tilted his head and watched you in amusement, you could feel his red orbs burning into you but you refused to look, knowing he would distract you. You held out a towel, lifting his hands and making him squeeze the towel between them, he flinched slightly, not because of the pain, because of the feeling of your dainty hands attempting to cover his large ones, he couldn't help but long for more of your touch as you pulled back to look for a first aid kit.

"keep that there please, Miggy" You pleaded, pulling out the kit and he nodded, rolling his eyes "Yes boss"

Your soft hands came into contact with his calloused, slender ones again, gently removing the towel, wiping the area clean with ever so much care and focus. He didn't care about the light sting, his eyes were entrapped on your frame. "I forgive you, Miggy, now turn your ass around, you can't hide that gash from me" You ordered, removing your hand from his and pointing. He groaned, turning around, you aw the injury but the barrier of his suit and cleared your throat. He groaned again, dliding the suit off his shoulders till they it hung low on his waist, revealing his bare, tanned back. You gulped and inhaled after what felt like forever before sitting on the counter to match his height.

Gently, you began to wipe the long but not to deep cut that danced over his back muscles, with every flinch, he flexed his back muscles and you found yourself staring, taking time with him. When he began to mumble Spanish cuss words under bis breath, you finished up, pressing a kiss to his shoulder and dropping the bloody cloth in the sink. He sighed and turned around to face you, standing between your legs, his hands resting on either of your thighs as he ducked down to kiss you, his lips molding against your own in what felt like a desperate kiss. You moaned lightly and wrapped your arms around his neck, he snickered into the kiss, his tongue brushing against yours, the kiss tasting of both mint, like always and a hint of blood from the small cut on his lip.

One of his large hands slid up your waist, squeezing at your skin and pulling you close to him before he pulled back enough to press a few gentle kisses to your jaw "thank you, pretty thing"

Imagine a happy, go lucky boy who isn’t afraid of anything. He smiles brightly and does his best to improve his swordsmanship. But the worst moment of his life, the scarring “canon event” that shakes him to his core.

He cannot bring himself to enjoy horror movies like they do. He’s scared of Xenomorphs and Necromorphs make him stay awake all night. Supernatural horror makes him ready to beg Jing Yuan to call a priest or something. And don’t even get me started on the games. He’s wrapped like a burrito as his S/O snuggles him while they play horror games. With his back against his s/o, it’s easier to feel safe. But he always flinched at jump scares and hides his face.

BUT I absolutely adore old rpg horror games like "Mad Father", "The witch's house" and "IB" (I'm obsessed with them, please tell me someone else out there is too-), so thank you for this request! It's honestly pretty tame in comparison to the other Yanqing angst I've been getting.

Yanqing was taken very much off-guard by your love for horror, as you didn't seem like you were into things like that at first. He didn't think much of it either, mainly as he just saw it as something you really loved. And so, when you asked him if he wanted to see a scary movie with you, he obliged. He was confident that nothing could scare him anyways... or so he thought.

He died inside when the first jumpscare came in and felt his soul leaving by the end of the movie. He was practically unresponsive for a good 10 minutes afterwards, since he didn't expect it to be this bad... or well, bad in his terms, as the movie wasn't scary at all to you after all. You thought that it would be a good starter movie to ease him into the genre, but were clearly in the wrong.

Which is why you decided that video games might be a better way to introduce him to your love for horror. Who doesn't like games, after all? And surely that would be more fun than just watching a movie. Yanqing for some reason foolishly agreed once more out of his deep love for you and ended up wrapped up in endless blankets, leaning against you, as he anticipated the game to start. It was just a game anyway, how scary could it be?

Very scary, is the answer. Next thing you know, he was slapping his hands over his eyes and letting out screeches of terror. You didn't even get through the first level either. You decided to give him the controller, thinking that if he had more control over the game and, that he'll maybe enjoy it and find it less scary. But that resulted in your controller learning how to fly.

Alright, so, Movies didn't work... games didn't work... perhaps fake supernatural TV shows could? They weren't scary anyways and were all staged, so surely, surely, he'll finally begin enjoying something. And it started off fine enough. He didn't seem concerned, maybe found it even a little stupid and funny, when the actors were being obviously very fake with their reactions. But then the paranoia got to him and he began believing that every little creak and sound in the house was a result of ghosts haunting you two... A very grumpy Jing Yuan was definitely called in panic at 3 am that night and he was NOT happy about it.

Yeah... it's safe to say, that you've given up on trying to make him also love horror as much as you do. But that's okay, because he'll support your interests at all times, with all of his heart... from very far away.

Hollowed Minds Progress Update 5/08/23

Hi! I know I failed at making a progress update last month, so first of all, apologies for that! Things have just been busy tbh and life has been too stressful that at some points I just couldn't write. It's why I've been a bit inactive here as well, and why I've been barely answering the asks I've been receiving.

I cannot report yet how many words I've written for the update so far because I haven't really taken a look at it myself, but I will do so at the end of the month if there's still no confirmed schedule by then. My eye health has just been very consistent at making my life harder as well until recently, and here's hoping I'll at least be able to function properly for a whole month🤞

Some things that will be in the next update:

For Chapter 2's Part 2:

Everything still goes as planned, except now both routes are expected to be fast-paced and action-oriented, though one is still more intense than the other.

This will be a massive one, not because of the word count but because of the variations that will play out. There won't be much issues in arranging the transitions to Chapter 3, so there's at least that, but your choices will matter a lot. So you might have to be careful with them.

One of the routes gets Alonzo actively involved, but please be assured that this doesn't mean you have to romance them. I actually encourage you all to check out both routes once they come because you'll gain more discoveries that way. 👀

Alonzo's route will be so memeworthy, I have to admit. Please try it.

There's an info dump in Chapter 2's Part 1 that I'm not really a fan of, so I'll be moving some of those to this part instead if needed.

For the overall IF:

Alex will now have a set skin tone if a lighter one is chosen for the Ripper. I will discuss this in detail soon, but I just wanted to emphasize that Alex and Ripper's mother are canonically PoC.

You will have options for your Ripper to wear contacts or glasses (or neither ofc).

You'll be able to bring a weapon with you in Chapter 2 depending on your choices so far.

You might remember a section of Chapter 1 where you can choose what your Ripper had been doing for the duration of the five months. I might reduce it to a few, just so I could have them properly recognized in the story.

There will be a couple of changes in the character descriptions in the game's stats page, with plans to make them shorter, too, for easier readability.

I will make sure you'll have saves at the end of this. So please don't be surprised if there'll be more page breaks in the future, as well as more choices (that are still as meaningful.)

In connection to above, I also plan to make the in-game descriptions snappier and easier to read while still maintaining the quality they should have. Your feedback will be very important for this, and this also applies to the beta testers (sorry I've been so silent. I swear I'll get back to you all soon lmao)

Not really too related here, but I also plan to be more consistent with my updates in the future. It's just that my irl schedule is still a huge mess, and it's very hard to be consistent when that happens.

Just a last piece of my mind. Some anons have been very aggressive with harassment the past few months, and I really have no interest for more drama right now. So if you have issues, if you think you can back your own words, send them through a DM or at least turn off anon so we could have a proper conversation.

It's honestly tiring. Being an Asian in this community can already be so tiring, so I am begging people to be mature and responsible with their words. After all, I've repeatedly said that you can always come to me with your concerns or whatever you have against me. As long as we can actually talk about it.
