A son of the desert who grew up in the rainforest, Cyno heard of stories regarding the Aranara but he never thought they'd be real. But as far as he is concerned, you're as much a citizen of Sumeru as he is

So Cyno quickly rolls with the punches and treats you accordingly with respect. Talk about a win!

But as far as you being a travel companion? Cyno isn't entirely sure since his work concerns apprehending wayward scholars and their affiliates. It's dangerous, so unless you can prove yourself to be sturdy enough to protect yourself, he'll tell discourage you from following him

Of course, he can't rightly force a creature of Dendro and dreams from doing that anyway if you stubbornly continue on with him

Thankfully, you can set his worries aside when you show not only are you adorable, but resourceful, using your powers of Dendro to apprehend criminals attempting to flee the scene when Cyno arrives (all while staying hidden in the realm of dreams. You're not trying to put a target on the back of every Aranara after all)

That aside, you don't really have any troubles with Cyno. When he rests by campfire, he will make sure you stay a comfortable distance from the flames and will teach you about GI TCG and will even tell you a joke or two (or three)

Cyno is a reliable companion. He'll protect you if you are under his protection but he doesn't make you feel less than because you're not human either

But when he isn't in work mode, he is very sweet and even let's you wear his headdress from time to time as long as you are careful with it. In return you place flower crowns atop his head

Is another protective companion. As one brought from the desert to the rainforest for the sake of experiments, Cyno knows what could happen should those at the Akademiya find out that Aranaras are more than just a tale for children

So he always makes sure you aren't sighted by those he cannot trust

Kaveh

Meeting Kaveh was a bit of an accident as you had to help disentangle from a mess of vines

For someone blessed with the power of Dendro, he isn't really one who naturally has an affinity for plants

As such, he is embarrassed when you find him in this situation. Embarrassed and quite amazed to find out that Aranara aren't just stories. One getting him out of a mess like this isn't really how Kaveh ever imagined meeting one back when he was a child

That aside, Kaveh straightens himself out, thanks you and honestly he tries to be polite about it but he has plenty of questions about your being an Aranara that you can't really answer outside of lore you got from the game

You tell him that you'll look out for him when he is prancing about the rainforest so he can avoid these sorts of mishaps in the future which he insists is unnecessary

But you're not trying to be stuck living in nature forever, you want to make sure you have guaranteed safety. It also helps that if you're going to attach yourself to a human in the game, they aren't just some random NPC. A player character comes with a certain level of stability you appreciate

Kaveh's too good an opportunity to pass up and Mehrak is quite cute too. Win-win situation

Out of everyone here though sadly, Kaveh treats you most like a pet. Something no one wants to get from a hot guy even if you understand why he treats you so

You barely registered the movement of Albedo's arm pulling you closer to him. All you could focus on was the way his eyes reserved an overwhelming amount of affection for you; the smirk crawling on his face when he knew he managed to pull off a successful surprise—

—the aggressive valberry pink and mint blue paint that stuck out on his face like a sore thumb; alongside Klee's giggles carried by the wind in the background.

"I knew making paint bombs with the two of you would be a mistake." You managed to stammer out. Albedo leaned his forehead against yours and laughed lightly. Precious.

"Big brother! Big sibling! Let's make more paint bombs!" Klee rushed to another room, presumably to get more paint.

Once Klee was out of sight, Albedo softly rubbed off the paint off your cheeks. "You have something over here..." He mumbled.

"And you have something everywhere." You chuckled, reaching over to his hair that somehow got stained with green paint.

Albedo watched you close your eyes to kiss him, his hand automatically reaching to the back of your head to kiss you deeper—

You followed her instructions, Ayaka cutely clapping in the background when you pulled it off successfully. "Yes! Great job!"

"Now move your arm around my waist, and I'll rest mine like this..." Ayaka demonstrated her instructions.

"Are you sure I should come to this banquet? I can barely follow your movement when we spar, much less when you dance. How can I learn how to waltz when I can barely do the previous two?"

Ayaka frowned at your lack of self-confidence. She lowered both your arms as you both stood in silence.

You were always the one who dispelled her worries when she was overthinking. You were always there to support her decisions and give your opinions about them, knowing she values the perspectives of others. You were always there to give her boosts of support when she was worried about being too uptight with the Traveler and Paimon; too formal and stiff with Thoma; or too shy to invite her brother to Komore Teahouse.

It's her turn now. This time Ayaka will do her best to become a pillar of support for you.

You yelped when Ayaka pulled you into a tight embrace. "A-Ayaka?"

Your voice quieted down when you saw the look in her eyes. "Yes, I'm sure you should come to the banquet! Unless, you don't want to, I can go by myself. We can just learn how to waltz for fun." She reassured you. Ayaka quickly picked up your hand so that both your arms were raised in the air.

"This will be exciting. Trust me."

Your face heated up. How can you not try for her?

"My, my... this is why I told you to be careful." CANDACE gently reprimanded you. The children just a few steps behind you celebrated another victory of "defeating the almighty adventurer in a race to success."

"Ack! Ugh, is that... it's Celestia! Is that a beautiful guardian I see that will guide me to my eternal rest?" You collapsed from sheer exhaustion—which was just falling into Candace arms as she shook her head fondly— further encouraging the children to run off and brag to their parents.

"You're great with kids." Candace whispered into your ears, lowering both of you onto the sand.

"Actually," You started. Candace lips curved into a smile. "They are devils. One of them was about to cry when I ran ahead of them by an inch. An inch."

Adoration crept onto her skin while watching you ramble on and on.

There was never a day where you reminded her how she was both the sun and moon. Spreading warmth and resurfacing the happiest memories; becoming a guiding light during the darkest times and representing hope like a shining beacon.

But to Candace, you were the sunrise and sunset. Fleeting moments that connected time and wind. Foremost, was the Guardian of Aaru village— but above that she was your Guardian. She promises to cherish you and cherish you and cherish you and cherish you—

"—obviously I'll feel guilty if I make a kid cry." You finished. You glanced up only to see Candace spacing out. "Uhm, you there?"

"Hm? Ah, p-pardon me."

Now if only there was a way she could picture your cute expression once you started accusing her of spacing out.

"My, my~ I knew my charms would make you all cute like this." HEIZOU would melt his body against yours, pecking your neck with satisfaction. Heizou's eyes would naturally close after hearing your bashful chuckles, his demeanour relaxing.

Languidly, his head would fall to your chest, trying to match the steady beats of your heart. (Quite foolish for the Shikanoin Heizou, but can you really accuse him when you're acting so squishable like this?)

He lazily threw one arm over your waist, attempting to bring you closer to him. You lifted his arm in the air in return and instead slung your leg over his body— dropping his arm back onto your thigh.

Heizou cheekily squeezed your thigh and chuckled when you hit his chest. "Heizou!"

"Yes?"

"You're usually touchy today." You couldn't help but comment.

"Could you really blame me?" He mused, charmingly raising one eyebrow.

You scrunched your nose in annoyance, pinching the side of his torso. A sense of satisfaction filled you after hearing him yelp.

"What was that for?"

"I love you~"

"That doesn't answer my question." Heizou hugged you tightly.

You didn't answer, only laughing airily.

Your hair was all over the place despite staying curled up in his arms the whole evening. Heizou was pretty sure he saw drool fall on the side of your mouth, but you're still such a beauty.

A lot of people claimed that you were lucky to have Heizou as your lover. But he knew better.

Heizou was, if not, the luckiest person in the entire universe to have you as his significant other.

"My, my... Who knew you had this fighting spirit in you?" KAEYA heaved his chest for breath. His back landed on the rough surface of the training grounds, some stray blades of grass tickling his cheek. "This is, quite surprising..."

You pointed your weapon towards him in triumph, beads of sweat rolling down the side of your face and neck. "Yield." A charming smile appeared on your face.

Kaeya subtly shivered from the cold his vision emitted. "Oh, you're still up for another round of our evening spars?" You teased.

The Calvary Captain's eyes soften. Your usual humble self, now standing proud and confident under the moonlight. Beams of Teyvat's moon filtered through the crevices and gaps of Mondstadt's walls, giving him a perfect view of you under the spotlight.

He closed his eyes in satisfaction. "I yield. I yield." He patted your leg.

You lowered your weapon beside him with a thud, and slowly sat down beside him. "Something on your mind?"

Then, he opened his eyes. He struggled to accept the soft feeling of your hands running through his hair; the way you looked down on him with a kind expression.

His mind then travelled to the memories of you helping him with his studies before becoming an official knight, taking care of him despite his tendencies to drink too often, inviting him for dinner— then he realised.

"—Yeah." That's what's on my mind.

"Care to share?"

Kaeya's voice dropped an octave lower. "You're amazing."

"My my... It seems that all I need to do to make my lovely dove go timid is to do this..." KAZUHA smiled against your back. He swayed you both side to side, his smile growing more prominent when you held his hands.

"Oh? Is it, disturbing you?"

"No, not at all."

"So... you wouldn't mind if I do this?"

You were about to ask what, until his fingers slowly crawled to your sides. Hearty chuckles escaped the ronin while you guffawed.

"Stop— STOP! PLEASE HAHHAHAHA!"

"Should I stop? Or should I not?"

—Kazuha's vermilion eyes could put the canvas of Inazuma's sunsets to shame, and his platinum hair makes the first snow look inadequate in comparison.

He was gentle in nature, like the long kisses he leaves on your cheeks. At the same time, Kazuha was courageous, standing up for what he believed in despite the impending chance of failure.

Yet, your eyes could reflect mirages of past lives Kazuha swore he lived with you. He would melt into pools of wonder when you leaned in to give him a long, loving kiss right on the lips. Kazuha always finds his hands slipping inside your garments, rubbing sensual circles on your body. (His hands felt perfect on you as if he did this a thousand and thousand times again.)

You were shy, yet so breathtakingly amazing and funny once you opened up.

You yelped when he flicked your forehead. "Don't apologise, it's just an accident. We can clean it together, no?"

You agreed and quickly knelt down to gather the papers. Tighnari kneeled down beside you, collecting the sheets on your opposite side.

Usually, he would sigh at the small inconvenience when he would clean up messes. But not when he did it with you.

Tighnari was familiar with the mundaneness you brought into his life; a refreshing atmosphere compared to the hectic schedules and adventures he's grown used to.

He vividly remembers the strong scent of food that would waft through the air if you prepared meals— only for him to join you and admire the concentrated look on your cute face while cooking. The times you would hum tunes in the shower as he stops his work and closes his eyes, momentarily relaxing at your unique voice.

"Alright, we're done." You sighed in relief. Quickly, you pecked his cheek as a thank you.

"Save that for the evening." Yelan rolled her eyes. "You're fortunate." I love you.

You leaned forward slightly and closed your eyes. Yelan followed after, giving in to the temptation. Just a peck—

"Yelan! We found something! Bring (Name) and come here!"

—Yelan pushed you back lightly with her forehead, and sliced the rope that previously trapped you both. She landed elegantly; you on the other hand fell butt first with a disgraceful "oomph"

"We're coming!" Yelan picked you up by the arm and briskly walked away.

You stood there, dazed, then screamed "I know you're flustered!" You picked up the pace to match her long strides.

Aether and Paimon didn't question why Yelan had a small quirk on her lips.

#CANDACE

Candace found you when a sandstorm had kicked up in Aaru village, with riftwolves roaming on the village grounds. You were desperately battling against the sandstorm whilst trying to avoid the riftwolves' jaws, and you would have become riftwolf chow had she not stepped in to save you. Like a true warrior of the Great Red Sand, she repelled the riftwolves' attacks with practised ease before offering a kind hand to you once they were taken care of.

Like any sane person would, you didn't hesitate to accept the protection she was willing to provide your seelie-turned self. Candace wouldn't mind you following her back to the inner part of Aaru Village since you're just a harmless little, albeit strange creature in her eyes - and she would be pleasantly surprised upon realising that you want to stay with her.

Candace would instantly warm up to you. How could she not, when all you've done is be cute give her and her people valuable companionship? She starts looking forward to seeing you play with the children during her morning patrols; now that you're here, Aaru Village is suddenly bursting with life as joyful laughter rings in the place of silence.

She appreciates it whenever you attempt to help her solve a dispute between two people, or decide to accompany her as she patrols the village to repel any threat. Although she commends your bravery, she'd be a little hesitant about letting you tag along when she's heading out during a sandstorm, worried that you might get hurt while she's fighting the monsters.

As Candace possesses an innate nature for taking care of others, you'll no doubt be living your best seelie life if she's the one you've chosen to stay with. You'd have your very own cushion to rest on in her room, and she'd even make a pouch that's big enough for you to hide in when there's danger. It'll eventually become a habit for her to call out to you whilst holding the pouch open, expecting you to pop inside every time she's about to go out.

She'd sometimes leave you in Cyno's or Dehya's care on her busy days. She trusts no one else but those two to take good care of you, and would make them promise that they won't let you stray from their sight. If anything bad happens to you while she's away... Well, they wouldn't want to find out.

Until you find a way to tell Candace your real name, she'd call you Iti, which means "moonlight" in Sumerian. After all, you are the silver light that made Aaru Village bloom in the darkest hour.

#KAVEH

Kaveh first met you when he was locked outside of Al-Haitham's house one night. As he was despairing over the fact that he's missing the spare key his roommate had given him, you floated up to him from behind with a familiar jingle which caught his attention. Earlier, you had come across Al-Haitham looking at Kaveh's key, and immediately snatched it out of his hand with the intention of giving it to Kaveh once you find him.

Kaveh has no idea what type of creature you are and felt slightly awkward when you held his key out with a tiny paw. At first, he doubted that it was his but when you insisted by shoving the key into his hand, he relented by taking it. He was surprised to find the door unlocked after he tried the key, and wondered how you knew it was the key to Al-Haitham's house and that he was looking for it; nevertheless, he was grateful to you. Kaveh didn't expect you to follow him inside however and when he noticed, he tried to shoo you away; he only stopped when you flew around the house and helped him tidy the spaces up (read: putting Al-Haitham's hard-to-read books back in their shelves) to the best of your ability. Huh, maybe having you around wouldn't be so bad, he thought, subconsciously petting you with a smile.

Kaveh gets another (mini) roommate. It'd take him a while to get used to living with a pet seelie, and once he does, he'll wake up expecting to see you sleeping adorably on his pillow, or balancing a fresh cup of coffee on your head by his bed. If you're still sleeping when he wakes up, he'd cuddle you like a teddy bear until you've roused yourself from your slumber. The little things you do for him would put him in a better mood than before, and Kaveh would also find himself smiling more often, especially if you're with him.

It'll be a plus if you've studied architecture, civil engineering or interior design back in the modern world. You'd be able to help him with his work and once he realises how intelligent you are, he'd teach you the common language of Teyvat so that the two of you could communicate better. Kaveh will eventually see you more as a companion instead of a pet, and he'd start introducing you as his assistant to his colleagues. Al-Haitham can go ahead and think of him as a lunatic for treating you like a human for all he cares.

Since Kaveh doesn't know what seelies are, he wouldn't know that you don't need to eat in order to live (more that you can't since you don't have a mouth...). He would try to share some of his food with you, but when he discovers that you can't eat, he'll feel a little bad about eating in front of you. He'd describe the taste of the food to you instead, and would occasionally make comments about you trying a certain dish out if you ever get a chance to be a human. In his free time, Kaveh would sometimes browse through the books on strange creatures in the Akademiya's library in hopes of learning more about your race.

Kaveh would feel absolutely betrayed if you show signs of favouring Al-Haitham over him. He won't hesitate to march up to the Scribe and pick a fight with him as he accuses Al-Haitham for trying to steal you from him; you're his seelie and assistant, so Al-Haitham should go get his own!

Later on, Kaveh would make a miniature Mehrak for you. It's not as advanced as his, but it has a text-to-speech function built in; it can scan texts and read them out loud for your convenience. He'll stick a matching feather accessory on you as well so that others will recognise you as his seelie, and it'll also allow him to track you down if Al-Haitham takes you away he ever loses you.

#WANDERER

While you were vibing with the aranaras, a Fatui pyro agent suddenly grabbed you out of nowhere. You didn't know why you were getting kidnapped when you're just hanging out with Sumeru's vegetables, and it wasn't until you heard him mention Dottore's name did you realise that he was one of the Doctor's subordinates. Fortunately for you, Wanderer happened to be passing by and ended up beating the pyro agent to oblivion as he reminded the puppet of his Fatui past, thus becoming your unconventional hero.

Although Wanderer would be silently questioning why you're following him, he wouldn't try to drive you away; he'd take you to Nahida and ask her about you. As the God of Wisdom, Nahida would know what you truly are after observing you for a bit, and tell Wanderer that you're a human who was cursed to take on this form. Wanderer is surprisingly a good babysitter (or seeliesitter?). He keeps you safe from the Fatui and allows you to seek refuge under the shade of his wide-brimmed hat when it gets too hot during the day. If it becomes too chilly for you at night, he'd let you tuck yourself in his kimono. At one point, Wanderer laid himself down beside your slumbering self on the grass as he covered you with his hand.

If you try to fly off to chase after Aether or your favourite Sumeru character, Wanderer would block your path with his Anemo powers or stop you by grabbing your tail-like part. Don't get mad at him now, he's only trying to look after you like Nahida had asked. He's definitely not afraid of you abandoning him...

Nahida would be very happy to see Wanderer getting along with you, and would ask you to be a good friend to him as she also promises to find a way for you to regain your human form. It just so happens that Wanderer is thinking of the same thing - of helping you become human again.

Note: I already started with Sumeru characters, I might as well finish them all before I go to the next region. After this there will only be two more post for the Sumeru characters which will hopefully have Wanderer, Layla, Kaveh and Faruzan. Also this one was not my proudest work. Hopefully I will either re-write this or make better stories for these two, they deserve the world. Spoilers for the story in Tighnari's section. Anyway, enjoy.

Tighnari

Tighnari was known for being self-sufficient. He made his elixirs and medicine for not only others but for himself as well. At this point everyone was certain that he could have easily got the title of a doctor if he pursued it, however, as humble of a person he was, he refused to be a forest ranger stationed at Gandharva Ville. Which leads to you now, feeling useless.

  You, unlike him, actually had the title of a doctor. You were also stationed at Gandharva Ville alongside the team. However, at this point, almost everyone tended to go to him for help rather than you. You still got your pay but was it worth it if it meant you would have to always be second to him? It was humiliating, to say the least.

  You tried to not let it get to you. You were a doctor, it was your job to attend to those when they needed it and you knew even if they didn’t like you, you couldn’t refuse service unless deemed otherwise. So anytime someone had shown displeasure of having you treat them rather than the saint of the forest rangers, you just suck it up and try your best. You wouldn’t say your abilities were lacking either, especially since you were trained to do this for almost years. Tighnari praised your abilities constantly. However, Tighnari himself had such a great reputation, a couple of good words couldn’t replace the original.

  Even if the group never acknowledged you as the official doctor, in the written agreements you were considered to be one, therefore you always had to be near at least one active team at all times. This usually meant you were patrolling with Tighnari. He made sure you kept your distance, which meant it was usually you trailing behind him, watching him be cool and in action while you sat on a log counting how many boar shrooms go past you during that time.

  Tighnari also being so perfect at taking care of himself, even if he was hurt he already had the tonics made to heal himself after battles, rendering you once again useless to the team. The last straw was when he decided that he wanted to try random mushrooms around the Sumeru forest, against your better judgment, and somehow managed to live through it without your assistance. At this point you decided that maybe you were not needed in this team, beginning to write your official request to change teams.

  Only mid-way through writing your letter, you were taken to Pardis Dhyai for another request. It seemed one of the scholars, Haypasia was infected with a maddening disease and now had to be taken care of specially. You sighed, shoving the half-written letter into your pocket to follow Tighnari to the location.

  When you met her you were certain she must have caught a horrible disease. She kept going on and on about contacting the divine being and you couldn’t wrap your head around the rest of the nonsense she kept spewing out. To keep both you and Tighnari’s minds at ease, you conjured a sleeping tonic to rest her mind.

  “Efficient as always. Hopefully, she will calm down after she wakes up.” Tighnari praised you. You let out a light laugh, a sudden guilt in your chest. He never said anything bad about your work, it felt wrong leaving just because others couldn’t see your effort. However, he was the source of why you were having such an issue so you weren’t sure what to do about it.

  Sudden noises began to be heard outside. You watch Tighnari, his ears up and alert, watching the door attentively. “Keep away from the main entrance, I need to get rid of some unwanted guests, “ He said on his way out. You nodded even though you knew he couldn’t see you.

  It was now just you and an unconscious Haypasia in the building. You sat at the edge of the bench she lay on, pulling out the letter once more. You began to finish off your letter.

  “Dear Grand Sage,

It has come to my attention that the forest patrol at Gandharva Ville is sufficient enough with staff that they do not need my services in the area. Therefore I would like to transfer to a patrol station in another area that may require my services.

If evaluation or proof is needed, I will be happily willing to provide a date and time for it.

I hope to hear from you soon.

  Just as you were about to sign off your letter, you heard Haypasia stir in her sleep, mumbles of panic in her voice. You immediately stood up, dropping the letter in your hand. Either she was suffering ailments from the disease or the medicine, either way, you needed to get her a soothing medication as soon as possible.

  You looked around for your medical bags only to realize that Tighnari must have taken them with him to meet his “guests.” You bite your lip, hesitantly looking for anything you could do. 

“I’ll try to come back as soon as possible, stay strong.” You whisper to Haypasia, before running out of the room to find supplies. You hoped nothing wrong would happen during that time.

  You were only gone for a couple of minutes at most however the minute you returned the only view your eyes laid on was now a stable Haypasia and an injured Tighnari. He sat on a mechanical crab, wincing horribly. You decided now wasn’t the time to question the crab, and immediately rushed to him.

  “Are you alright?! What happened?!” You yell out. For once he wasn’t preparing something to cure his pain, which meant it must have been something severe or incurable. He let out a slight chuckle, trying not to cringe from the pain.

  “Our guests just gave me a present. Not a pleasant one but they insisted I have it.” He joked, trying to lighten the mood. Being rewarded with a harsh glare from you, he sighed. “I was struck by lightning.”

  Your jaw dropped, and so did the medical supplies in your hands. “WHAT?!” You yelled once more. You could feel tears form in your eyes. He looked at you worriedly, trying to extend an arm towards you, only to be stopped by the pain worsening. “Don’t you dare try to comfort me when you’re the one like this!” You reply with a sharp tone which made the ears on his head flick down, almost like a sad little cat who was being scolded.

You looked at the crab. “Put him down on the bench please.” You command. To both you and Tighnari’s surprise, it followed your orders, gently guiding him towards the nearest empty bench.

  “Hey, you're supposed to follow my commands,” Tighnari mumbled. You rolled your eyes before sitting down next to him, motioning to your lap. “Put your head down, you need rest. The bench is rough so you can lay your head on my lap instead.” Tighnari looked at your lap and back to you. 

  “Now.” He slowly laid down on your lap, trying not to cause more damage to his wounds.

“There is no treatment for being struck by lightning from what I learned, however, if you rest enough you can use your vision to counter any elemental energy inside you.” You wipe any tears from your eyes before they got worse. “I’m sorry I can’t help you, like always.” You mumble, gently pushing his hair out of his face, petting his head.

  Tighnari on the other hand couldn’t rest, he wasn’t even sure the words you spoke were registering in his mind. Your hand felt like heaven especially when his body was in such pain. All he could was stare at you as you tried your best not to cry. He didn’t expect you to react this badly when he got hurt. Especially since you had seen him get hurt before.

  You glared at him once more, placing your hand over his eyes to cover it up. “Go to sleep, you idiot.” No matter how hard his heart was beating, he still somehow managed to slowly go to sleep. The feeling of your hands stroking his head was still faintly in his mind.

  It was no surprise Tighnari recovered perfectly fine. Vision users had a special talent to heal at a faster rate than normal individuals. However, one aspect of Tighnari had changed and that was the fact whenever he got injured or hurt he asked for your help. This included minor injuries.

  You weren’t sure what triggered this change but it made things a lot easier for you knowing that you were still needed by the camp. His sudden change also meant the team was also opening up to be treated by you. You almost forgot that you had even tried to write a letter to switch patrol areas.

  Tighnari didn’t forget though. The day he was injured he caught a glimpse of the letter peaking through the bushes from where you had dropped it. He saw you carry it around multiple times so he had assumed it was important, keeping it with him until he got better. He didn’t mean to peak, you just had not closed it up at the time.

  He disapproved of the contents of the letter and definitely didn't want you to follow through with what was written, especially since something clicked in his subconscious mind that day he got hurt. So he had been holding on to it without even thinking of handing it back.

  He liked being efficient and getting things done on his own accord, but if being treated by you meant you would stay longer by his side, he was willing to play sick all day. He just hoped you wouldn’t catch on until he could confess.

Candace rarely stepped foot outside of her village. It was the world she only knew to say the least. Looking after the village as a guardian since the mere age of 8 meant she wasn’t one to travel outside often. She was almost certain she had not stepped out of Sumeru at any point in her life.

  Yet you were quite the opposite. The minute you were old enough to travel you already headed your way to Liyue, far from her reach. How was she going to protect you if you left? She wasn’t sure and it made her nervous. Every day you were gone she wondered whether you would ever come back. She had no way of knowing.

You always did come back. A bag full of various items from all over the world. You started to make a living from it, trading items from region to region. It suited your free-spirited nature. You didn’t only bring items for trading of course. You brought gifts for the village, this of course included Candace.

Candace made her rounds around the village It was a typical work day for her. Then she heard the jingle of bells and the footsteps of sumpter beasts coming nearby. Immediately she headed towards the entrance. Of course, it was you, with your bag full of trinkets and your body covered in bandages.

  Candace stopped in her tracks. Bandages. You didn’t dress up like that. She watched as you limped towards her, a grimace on your face that only made her eyes grow wide. She ran up to you, holding you up for support while you tried to catch your breath. “Ha, tough trip this time.” You try to joke. Candace was having none of that.

  She immediately picked you up bridal style, to which you could only respond with a yelp. Leaving your supplies and sumpter beasts in the sand, she ran to her house. She should have convinced you to never leave the village. Look at the state you ended up in. This could have all been prevented if you stayed by her side in the village where she could take care of you.

  She ignored you as you kept telling her you were fine. All she could think was how stupid she was to agree to let you go over and over again. She dropped you on the bed, rushing towards her dresser to get more bandages and medicine. 

  “You don’t need to bandage me again, I did an ok job!” You whine, showing off your bandages to her. Candace sighed, returning with the medical equipment. “Oh please, when was the last time you replaced them? I bet you wore the same wraps the entire trip.” You pouted, flopping onto the bed in defeat.

  “Sit up, I need to change them.” You face away from her, arms crossed. “You think of me as a baby. I’m a grown-ass adult!” You mumble, refusing to look her way. Candace was certain she was going to sigh away all the life in her body having to deal with you. “Well someone needs to protect you. Look at you. Every time you come back you’re worse than before, covered head to toe in scars and blood! It’s almost like you have a death wish.”

  You finally peak over your shoulder. You looked at Candace, who continued to have a pained expression on her face. You could see her shake. Frustration? Sadness? It didn’t matter because she was not enjoying it.

  “Why do you have to leave me here and run away? Do you want to die? The minute I look away you’re always gone off to someplace else and I can’t go with you. How am I supposed to protect you when you keep leaving? One day you’re going to end up dead and I won’t even know what happened to you.”

  You sat up, hand digging into your pocket. “Candace.”

  “I’m so tired of this, you have always been so reckless. Did you forget this was your home? Did you find something so incredible out there that you forget? Why do I bother at this point, it’s not like you care.”

  Candace wasn’t sure what was coming out of her mouth at this moment. She was always so rational and careful with her words. She would never say things like this, always keep such thoughts to herself. You somehow managed to make it all spill out. “Candace..” You say once more, pulling out a box from your pocket. You stood up now, facing her.

  “What now? You’re going to leave again? Did you come here to stop by before going off on your next journey? Where to? Fontaine? Mondstadt? Hell, I heard Inazuma opened up recently, you can go there and leave me alone again.”

  You grabbed the supplies out of her hand, tossing them on the bed. You reached out and grabbed one of her hands. “I got you a gift.” You placed the box in her hand. She looked at you, unphased. You gave her the softest smile you could, helping her open the box to see the contents inside.

  “It’s earrings. It’s a pretty rare stone, it’s blue when you look at it, but when you put it up to the light it reflects a yellow tint. It reminded me of your eyes.” You say you enclose the box in her hand. You reached for her other hand and grasped them ever so.

  “Candace,” You smiled as she looked at you, almost dazed. “Even if I ever end up with all my bones broken, I am certain I will always end up finding my way towards you. I have seen almost every crevice of Teyvat, and I would still end up in Aaru Village by your side.”

  You grip her hands tighter, your eyes not leaving her even for a second. A small gentle smile on your face made her heat up. Had you always looked so mature? When did you become so different? You were pouting like a child a minute ago. She always thought you were careless, always lost in your world of adventures. But here you were, looking at her as if she was the world to you.

  You finally break the staring match, looking down at her hands. “Look at you, worried about my scars when you’re as bad.” You loosen your grip, now circling the scars and calluses on her hand. It felt electrifying.

  You let her hands go and she felt cold, your touch made her feel too complete and it confused her. You looked at her once more, she watched the way your eyes were shining. She could only feel how amazing it felt, how wonderful it was that you looked at her in such a light. “Don’t worry about me. You already have a village to take care of, that’s already a big responsibility. Let me help you instead.”

  Standing up, you began to make your way towards the door, only stopping near the entrance to turn back to her. “Now come outside, I got gifts for everyone and sumpter beasts to feed.” with that, you began to make your way out the door.

  But, Candace couldn’t stand up. Her usual strength drained. Her legs felt like jelly and she could feel her heartbeat still unsteady. She felt cold but when she raised a hand to her cheek she could still feel the heat. 

  She looked down at the earrings in her palms. All your gifts were usually kept in her cupboard. You always gifted her such precious items, too valuable considering how she works. However this time, she wore them, taking off her old ones and placing what you had given on. She stood up using the bed as support and hobbled towards the mirror on the dressing table. The earrings shined just as you had told her, blue with a tint of yellow.

  She hoped you kept your promise to protect Aaru village with her. She also planned on making sure you take responsibility for what you had done to her that day.

Al’Haitham

He’s seated at his desk in your shared room, you are laying on the bed. You were taking a nap that was a lot longer than your usual naps. Al’haitham noticed and used the time to work on some important documents. He was too focused on his work to notice you stir. The hot atmosphere and the blanket caused you to whine. You could feel the fever aching your entire body

Though he feels bad about it, he can admit your noises caused a noticeable annoyance. He groaned to himself when your tossing and turning didn’t stop. “Is something wrong?” He reluctantly spewed, eyes not leaving his paper. Only when he heard a pitiful little “help..” did he turn to you, rushing to your side after he noticed your distress. He sat down next to you. His hand went to your forehead. The frown he always wore grew worse and worry filled his face. He couldn’t help but pull you to him and cradle you. “I’m so sorry, darling. Are you okay?” He softened his voice to accommodate for his rough exterior, not just his physical exterior.

“Don’t.. feel good..” you shivered out, taking a lot of your energy to talk. He nodded and picked you up in his arms. He carried you to the couch, silently, and placed you down. He followed up by wrapping you in a blanket, getting a fan to put in front of you, giving you the TV remote. “I’m going to make you some soup” he gave the top of your head a kiss. He quietly went to the kitchen to focus on heating up your favorite type of soup. You scrolled through the different selection before choosing the show you guys have been watching together. He returned to your side after around 8 minutes, he wrapped his arm around you. he leaned in to give you a kiss on the cheek. You leaned away and pressed a hand to his chest. “I don’t.. wanna get you sick” he looked down to you before softly chuckling which made you melt. “Then you’ll just have to take care of me when I get sick” he compromised before pressing a soft kiss to your lips.

Tighnari

He could sense your sickness arising before you even felt the symptoms. You were sitting on the bed, playing on your switch when you started to feel extremely uncomfortable. You had ignored it for too long now and decided to lay down. Your head was spinning. Before you could even confirm you were sick, Tighnari was back from the store. He went straight to your guy’s bedroom and came in. You started to sit up. He firmly hand on your chest to keep you down. It was comforting though. “ ‘Nari-“ you were met with his smile and a hushed “shhh. It’s okay. Just relax. I’ve got everything you need. I got you snacks, some gatorade, medicine, and a new buddy” he handed you a cute little green fox plushie which you immediately hugged in your arms

Tighnari strongly suggested having comfort items like stuffed animals or blankets. They help with stress and mental struggles. He usually gets you an item, which is usually a stuffed animal, every time he goes out or can. He already had the remote in his hand, giving it to you. He started to put pillows and blankets all around you, creating some sort of nest. He tucked blankets and pillows under you. You couldn’t help but giggle at his touch, okay maybe he intentionally tickled you just to see you smile. He stayed focused though and acted as though he wasn’t even bothering you. After he was all done, he started opening food and your drink for you. After your medicine, you guys cuddled until you eventually succumbed to slumber, smiling of course.

Cyno

You were a whimpering mess (pause) from the discomfort of your sickness. Even though cyno doesn’t show it to anyone, and hardly shows it to you, he babies the shit out of you. It takes a lot to break down the walls around his heart but he’s really a big ol’ teddy bear, secretly of course. He came back into the room and held up your personalized water bottle he got for you. He glared at you, bottle in one hand and a bag of goodies to help you in the other.

“I didn’t spend 60 bucks to get you your own water bottle, for you to not drink any damn water” he set the bottle down next to you. He took out some food for you to eat so you could take your medicine. While you ate and watched some let’s plays he cleaned up all your gross tissues, silently. He didn’t make a face even when he touched a slimy part. Once you were all cleaned up he got a cold, damn rag to gently pat your face with to cool you down. “Stop being sick.” He tried to be comforting which you indeed felt comforted. He nuzzled into your neck after you had both settled down to take a nap. Once you had fallen asleep, cyno kissed your heated cheek and sighed. “I love you, snotty” he whispered. You smiled in your sleep

Candace

Candace held you close to her. The back of her hand was on your forehead. She shook her head in disappointment “didn’t I tell you to stay inside when it was storming. Now look at you, all pitiful” she teased with a pout pursing her lips. “This won’t do.” Was all she said before lifting you in her arms. She carried you across the hallway of your guy’s apartment and into the bathroom. She sat you on the toilet, you shivering. She couldn’t help but giggle at you. You looked so sad and hopeless. Good thing she was there to help.

She turned on the faucet to the tub, checking the warmth before adjusting the knob. “Is this okay, love?” She asked softly. You leaned over to feel the water. You nodded when it was the right temperature. She very carefully undressed you and kissed all around your body as she did to try and comfort you. She very carefully listed you once more once undressed and lowered you into the warm water. The warm water surrounded your cold body, earning a hum from your lips. She kissed your head before going to walk out. You reached and grabbed her wrist. She turned to you, cocking an eyebrow in confusion. “Stay..”you pleaded. Your sad, sick little face melted her heart. She quickly undressed. She tied her hair back before slipping in right behind you. She smiled brightly, wrapping her arms around your waist, just loving being with you.

Dehya

Dehya was actually on patrol when she got a message from you that you were sick. She got a fellow friend to cover for her. She basically ran home after getting medicine. She kicked down the door due to all the stuff in her hands. You were already on the couch, basically upside down from hanging off the couch. She dropped all the snacks that weren’t even good for you and the medicine. She pulled your hair back and kissed your forehead “awww. You poor thing. I brought you candy! And buttered chicken!” She smiled.

You smiled softly. “Did you get the soup?” You asked. She sighed and shook her head “they were out. But! I got some stuff to make it! Don’t you worry, babe. I’ll make it even better” she said, determined. She helped you get comfortable on the couch and got to cooking. She kept coming back to let you taste everything to make sure it was good. Every single time she gave you a kiss too. Once she was finished you both ate some soup and cuddled up while watching a scary movie. She says it’ll ‘scare the sickness away’. She let you cuddle into her no matter that it was getting sweaty. She loved to see you happy even in your worst times.
