i’m putting this behind a cut, bc i rambled on for quite a while XDD these won’t be in any particular order, and the fandoms will be chosen based off of what i’m currently most into/whichever ones i think of first XD

1. Maleficent [Disney]

okay, i lied a little.....she is clearly my #1 favorite character of all time, so of course she’s first (the rest of the list won’t be in any particular order :P). but....yeah, i love her forever and for all time and eternity, i love her class and elegance, my hunt for all merchandise of her that i can get my hands on is legendary and knows no bounds, she’s my forever girl, etc, etc. if you know only one fact about me, it’s probably that i love maleficent. there’s nothing i can say here that i haven’t probably already said a million times over, so i’ll move on XD

(moana has risen to be a pretty close second, tho)

2. Anthony J. Crowley [Good Omens]

i read the book from a library over a decade ago, and i liked it well enough, but it like....wasn’t an instant new fave that i had to immediately buy for myself (tho it is on a list of books that i wouldn’t mind owning...but maybe it’s finally time, who knows). i’m halfway through the show, and i’ve finally fallen in love with it (i think it finally being a #confirmed love story between our favorite ineffable idiots finally gave it the push it needed XD). it’s still a bit early for me to have a solid, definite fave, but lbr, if i know myself at all, it’s gonna be crowley XD i love this dumb demon (who’s rivaled in his idiocy only by his equally dumb angel husband), i love how he’s so soft even as he tries desperately to convince himself and everyone else that he isn’t, that he loves so many things and humanity and an angel even as he tries to say that he isn’t capable of it, that he never stopped questioning even after it had made him Fall. also, i am so thankful that the fandom has really embraced the potential for the shenanigans of crowley’s snake form.👍

(second place is probably aziraphale, but i also really love anathema too)

3. Namine [Kingdom Hearts]

another one that probably comes as no surprise, if you know me. i love this girl to the ends of the universe. i love the way she reclaimed her agency, her selflessness and determination, her empathy and kindness, how she went from a damsel in distress to pretty much saving everyone, over and over and over again. she deserves only happiness and the best things from now on. and please, for the love of god, give her some new clothes, nomura. >_>

(second fave is roxas, tho really, i love 98% of all the characters in this series ;;;)

4. Aerith Gainsborough [Final Fantasy VII]

my precious sunshine girl 💖 i prefer her in the original game, where she was sweet and optimistic, yes, but she was also sassy and fierce and took shit from no one. i love the girl that decided she wanted to wear a sexy red dress just for the hell of it, and threatened to rip off a mafia don’s balls. i love the girl that was confident and flirty with cloud, but never let any kind of bullshit ‘rivalry’ get in the way of being friends with tifa. i love that she always called cloud out on his bullshit, that she never let tragedy and oppressive shinra forces grind out her optimism, that she never stopped dreaming of a better future. i love that she was exposed to the worst of human nature, and yet still believed that they were worth saving. i love all versions of aerith, obvs, but they’ve definitely smoothed out her edges over the years, and i think that’s a shame. so here’s hoping that she’ll be more like her original self in the remake.

also, can’t wait to see aerith die again :)))))))

(my second fave tends to flip between cloud and sephiroth)

5. Ling Yao / Greed [Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood]

look. listen. i can’t choose between them, i just can’t. and hey....technically they sort of combine into one entity, so it’s totally fine to count them together, right?? XDD so yeah, it’s really fucking hard to pick a fave out of this cast, bc there’s only like....3 characters?? that i don’t love. but ultimately, it had to be these two. every single second they’re on screen, they totally steal the show, and they have a lot of the best scenes and moments in the series. i love ling, how he seems like a total goofball and comic relief at first, but fairly quickly you come to see just how fucking seriously he takes his duties and responsibilities, how selfless and devoted he is to his people, how he would walk through hellfire for the people he loves. he’s just....he just loves, so fiercely and intensely, that he moves even greed into loving him and the people he cares about without even trying.

and then there’s greed, who even from the beginning, you can’t help but be charmed by, with his sarcastic slow claps and laidback attitude. but over time, you see that he’s just like ling, really, in that he can’t help but get attached to these humans, that he loves them just as fiercely and intensely, even as he desperately tries to play it off. i love the way his character serves as a means for the story to have a really thought-provoking rumination on the nature of sins and desires, and on humanity (as do all of the other homunculi). i could go on forever about these two, and about the show in general, bc it’s just so deep and incredibly layered and complex, so i’ll stop here.

(next fave after them is winry)

6. Bucky Barnes [MCU]

it’s hard for me to talk about bucky without just dissolving into endless sobbing, but i’ll try my best. he’s just.....he’s someone who has ended up suffering so fucking much, who has every reason in the world to be angry and bitter and resentful and if this was the villain origin story, you’d probably find it hard to blame him. (also, i refuse to say that bucky was ever a villain, bc he never willingly chose to be with hydra, he’s a victim goddamn it--) and yet....he still chooses to be good. to be kind. he could have chosen to go on an endless revenge tour against hydra, but instead he focuses on his own recovery. and always, always, always, he puts other people first. he chooses to goddamn freeze himself, possibly forever, so that he doesn’t hurt people again. he’s truly an inspiration to me, because even after everything he’s been through, he still doesn’t give up. ......and if you’ll excuse me, i need to resume crying about bucky barnes for the rest of eternity 😭😭😭

(next faves are sam and steve. what can i say, i love my caps XP)

7. Keladry of Mindelan [Tortall]

speaking of inspirations, few (if any) characters inspire me more than kel does. unlike every other tortall protagonist, she has absolutely no magic at all, and she starts her story with more odds stacked against her than any of the others. the system and institution are against her, and most people actively, viciously hate her and want to see her fail, all for being a girl and daring to openly step outside of her gender roles. and yet, kel never gives up, and wins through pure will and determination. more than that, she never stops fighting any oppression that she sees, and is always looking out for the abused and marginalized of society. she is fair and just and righteous, and full of a quiet, immovable strength that i, frankly, envy. she’s a fucking mountain; you haven’t a hope of ever tearing her down.

(other faves....george, raoul, and dom. it’s really fucking hard to choose between them, i can’t even)

8. Oree Shoth [Inheritance trilogy, by N. K. Jemison]

oree is pretty much single-handedly responsible for me loving this trilogy, and is the reason why The Broken Kingdoms (the second book, of which she is the protagonist) is in my top 3 favorite books of all time. she is....just so fucking radiant. she’s a blind artist, and is flung so far out of her depth in the story, and yet she holds her own. in this world of gods, she brings this incredibly human element, and is celebrated because of her humanity. she’s angry and flawed, but also full of love, compassion, kindness, and mercy. she teaches gods the meaning of forgiveness. she takes shit from no one. just....do yourself a favor, and read this series, even if it’s only so that you can read this book.

(second fave....it’s probably shiny, lbr XD)

9. Sirius Black [Harry Potter]

ahhh, a classic fave. but yeah, i still love him, even after all these years. yes, he’s incredibly flawed, but at his core, he’s just so loyal, and he loves so fiercely, and he tries his absolute best to be there for harry, that i can’t help but love him. also, i have a Thing, for characters who suffer so tremendously, but who don’t give up, and still try their best to be good people anyway. also, wolfstar was the foundation of a very formative part of my life, and put me onto the road of accepting my queer identity, so i’ll always have a soft spot in my heart for the characters who were a part of that. 🤷‍♀️

(other faves are luna and harry, always)

10. Gladion [Pokemon]

mostly his anime incarnation, tho i do like him in the games as well. i love this soft goth boy with all of my heart. he’s so gentle and kind and loving, and i can’t even with him.

[ Art || Background ]

[ Hey y’all! So uh...while this iteration of my dinky blog isn’t three years old, I have been lurking around this site in total (for RP) for three years now, as of...technically yesterday, eh heh. And good golly there has been a LOTTA growth since then. My muses and I have come a looong way, in regards to writing, editing, and getting to know so many people over the course of three years. Some have come and gone, and some have stayed...though few since those beginning days when Sylvie had NO idea what they were doing, ha!

And though I’ve only recently gone through my second revamp, there’s still a gaggle a’y’all that have stuck around. Some even from those very beginning days. So, I’d like to take a minute to just...gush about some of ya, cuz you’ve made being in this community fun, welcoming, and honestly like a second family to us. While I don’t have time to ramble about EVERYONE, I’m gonna do my darnedest to do as much as I can, and just...say thank you for making me able to stay this long, and have as much fun as I’ve had. It means the world to me <3

Chenle High School AU!

Okay I know I haven't POSTED anyTHing In FOreveR and I meant to write a mx thing because ya know,,,,, concert

But idk Chenle is an actual CUTIE PIE AND HE IS MY BIAS HOW IS HE OLDER THAN ME BY LIKE A COUPLE OF MONTHS I’M YELLING PLEASE SEND HELP

*clears throat*

so uh yeah,,, stan china line

I will have a mx scenario out soon,,,,,,,,,maybe

LETS START:

So high school sucks but all of your friends are there so,, it’s cool for now,,,until midterms and finals

then everyone is sUFFeriNG

but like the weird stuff you see keeps you going ya know?

Like the one time that kid in 2nd period took out a loaf of bread, a jar of peanut butter, and a jar of jelly then made a sandwich with it??

Or the Ap World teacher who once stopped you and your friends in the hallway to tell you how to take over a country in 5 easy steps

Your friends are also wild

Jisung is in your Lit class and your teacher assigns these writings

and everyone figured out that she only checks for completion and doesn't actually read them?

Jisung wrote the entire lyrics of fergalicious for his assignment once and still got a 100 on it

He’s a little shit sometimes but he’s funny so you keep him around

and today he is back at his shenanigans again

he decided to write your number on a piece of paper with “Text me” written at the top and he said he was going to drop it in the hallway if you didn't give him the answers for the Bio homework

and your like “I spent 2 hours on just the front of the bio homework last night there is no way I'm giving them to you”

he just sat there “:) be like that then”

so when the bell rang he dropped the paper in the hallway

it was the bell signaling Lunch too so there were people everywhere and the paper was nowhere to be seen

you tried looking for it after the hallways cleared but ? it wasn't there ?

Jisung was at his lunch table and you ran up to it and sat down

“Jisung I've known you for a while and you won't let me live but jesus I tried looking for the paper and I can't find it, what have you gotten me into”

he just sat there eating his salad

“So you gonna give me the Bio answers or what?”

7th period came around

math

the teacher was really chill tho

like she would talk about the notes for 15 minutes then that was it for the day and the rest of the class was basically free time

she never checked the homework either

so you were playing on your phone and then you got a text from a random number

and you just shut down

You decided to save their number because they seem cool,,, makes life interesting ya know

Bad news, their text made you giggle and Jisung is asking what your laughing at

so you told him

but you keep on talking to this mystery person

neither of you really say who you are and its been a month

after removing his hands from squishing your cheeks your phone got a notification

Usually you don't give your answers to a n y o n e

but this mystery person seems nice and as silly as it seemed you started to possibly form a crush on the unknown person

putting off doing math homework to text them

texting them constantly

finding out a lot about them,,,,,and them finding out a lot about you

late nights talking with them

all this led to a tiny tiny huge crush and you had a soft spot for them

so you gave them the answers

“hEy!! You never give me the bio answers!”

so you and mystery person decide to meet up that Friday after school at the sign

que being nervous for two days

and que being REALLY REALLY nervous Friday

they said they would be wearing a green jacket

so the last bell rung and you could care less about the cookie all you cared about was meeting this mystery person in a green jacket

Over the past two days you wondered who they were

did you know them?

what did they look like?

How old are they!!!

you just hoped they were around your age

,,,,,,,,and cute

so you made it to the sign and there wasn't anybody there let alone someone in a green jacket

you looked around the immediate area and still no person wearing a green jacket

great, maybe it was a prank

you picked up your book bag and started to leave, you didn't want to look like more of a fool than you already did

but then there was this,,,, scream?

it sounded like a dolphin ?

but there was no zoo nearby ?

and it was getting closer ???????????

it sounded like the scream he did with the kite

So you turned around and there is an extremely loud boy in a green jacket running at full speed while screaming

everyone is looking at him

wait a minute--- green jacket ??

he is getting closer but isn't slowing down and tbh you are starting to worry because he's about to run straight into the-

that was the sound of air being knocked out of you

this boy didn't run into the sign he ran into you

in a hug

a really warm hug

he’s also cute

and maybe part dolphin

so he pulls away and he just a little bit taller than you so you don't have to look up that much

and he’s smiling

your heart just skipped a beat

this- this cute boy is the one I was texting ?????!??!?!!?!??

“Hey you are the mystery person who's friend left their number in the hall right?”

“And you are the mystery person who said they be at the sign in a green jacket?”

“Yeah,,, sorry about that. My bio teacher wanted to talk to me,, I fell asleep in class today BUT I got your cookie!!”

“Oh,, yeah it’s no problem! Thank you for the cookie, you really didn't have to”

“but I wanted to”

and he hands you the cooke

and you both kind of stand there??

“Go on try it! I made it myself!”

so you ate a piece and it was ,,, really good

so you ate the rest of it

“Dude that was a really good cookie oh my god you should be on a cooking show”

he just laughs

and it sounds like a dolphin

but he's cute and his dolphin laugh/scream is endearing

its also hurts peoples ears because its so loud

“I brought a whole batch of them,,, we could eat them as I walk you home”

what a gentleman

“Oh I’m Chenle by the way”

“I’m Y/n”

he was loud the whole time he walked you home but it was cute

you might need a hearing aid but oh well it'd be worth it

he was in the same grade as you even tho he was older

his birthday was a late one so

and when the both of you arrived at your door step his ears were red

“Here you can have the rest of the cookies, we can meet at the sign Monday so you can give the container back.”

“Thank you so much,,,,,,,, for everything” and you gave him a small smile despite the situation being awkward

“It’s really nothing.”

and then he walked a little closer and kissed your cheek

“HAveAgreatWEEKenD!”

and he was off

running away screaming his dolphin laugh

you hoped his face was as red as yours

Monday comes around and there he is, running up to you screaming

when is he not screaming

you swear he is the loudest boy you have ever met

he engulfs you in a hug again

“Here is your container”

“Oh thanks! here I’ll walk you home”

and when you reach your doorstep he kisses your cheek again and runs away screaming before you can do anything

so the next day the school bell rings and ding!

when you reached your doorstep and you kissed his cheek first

you eat lunch together with Jisung and he walks you home

Jisung now wants a cookie from Chenle as payment for helping get you two together

but Chenle only ever gives cookies to you

Hau

Imagine bby Hau when his dad first left. Imagine how confused & devastated he must've been. Imagine him sending letter after letter with his mom's help but only getting a few back. Imagine one day the return letters just... stop. Imagine Hau and his mom continuing to write letters until they start coming back as 'return to sender'. Imagine Hau not fully understanding why and continuing to write letters anyway, but just not sending them. Imagine him finally old enough to understand, but he keeps on writing them anyway, just because it's a little therapeutic and it's become a habit by now anyway. < Eventually he just stops sending them and keeps them in a box. He decides to give them to his dad if he ever sees him again. >

I've been thinking about how Hau may have met Nalani over the past few days, and what the circumstances might've been for Hala yelling in front of him, and just general bby Hau stuff. And I came up with some loose headcanons concerning that stuff. Hau used to go out and play with the Pichu around Iki Town all the time, and there was one that always seemed to love hanging around him no matter what, and it just... followed him home one day. Hala never liked Hau going to play with the Pichu because not every wild Pokemon is so friendly. He always lectured Hau about the dangers, especially of overaggressive Pokemon like you see charging at you in the grass and from bushes and shaking trees. Hau never really got it though - he was too young and all the Pokemon he'd met so far were friendly! This led to him getting too close to Hala's Tauros when it was worked up one day. It could've killed him and Hala was so scared for him and angry at his disobedience that he ended up shouting. This resulted in Hau being afraid of pissing off not only Hala but ANY kahuna. This is also why he says he couldn't ride a Tauros once Tauros is registered in your Ride Pager, though he's confident enough by the end of the game to learn to ride from Hala (as seen in the credits picture). Some Hau headcanons no one asked for: He is gender fluid, tho he usually defaults to he/him. His assigned gender is male, though he would sometimes feel like he was a girl even from a very young age. He'd also get annoyed when people assumed he was just playing and pretending to be a girl. So when he first heard the terminology, he was ecstatic and was like "YES I'm THAT!!!" It was a similar story for him being gay. His first ever crush was on Ilima when he was six. Ofc, Ilima is a little old for him, so he eventually grew out of the crush and is simply Ilima's friend instead. Typically, Hau stays the same gender all day, but he has been known to switch. Especially after he's listened to a song he likes that has self-referencing pronouns. Bonus Hau/Gladion headcanon - if Gladion really DOES teach himself guitar, he'll change the pronouns in any love songs for Hau's current gender. Hau loves him to death for this... (Typed on Feb. 13)

Random headcanon: Typically, when Hau gets tired, he gets more active rather than less so. He turns all giddy and bouncy and it's really hard to get him to sit still unless he's in a bad mood or was sitting still already. So when he was younger and he started bouncing off the walls more than usual, that was his family's signal for 'okay, bedtime'. (Typed on Feb. 1)

Gladion

IMAGINE HIS POKEMON HELPING HIM. GLITTER ALL OVER THEIR CLAWS/PAWS/HANDS. ESPECIALLY HIS SHINY RAI < AND MEWTWO > Lol, Mewtwo would probably use his psychic powers and not even pick up the bottle. ... but then Raichu would smear him with glitter on purpose. GLITTER FIGHT!!!!! < When Red was a baby, he hated feeling like he was alone at any time. He easily fell asleep in just about anyone's arms, but wouldn't sleep in his crib unless he was given a stuffed toy or a soft blanket to cuddle with. (Not technically Red but...) - Btw!!! Plot bunny I forgot to tell you about!!! Imagine Mewtwo helping Raichu out with her newfound Psychic powers. B/c it's tough, he knows. Imagine her accidentally broadcasting her emotions tho it's always way more subtle than Mewtwo b/c she's not nearly as strong as him. Imagine she's so used to life as a Pikachu, she often forgets she even has psychic powers now. Sometimes she rolls onto her tail in the middle of the night and it starts floating and when she wakes up she's so startled she drops herself. IMAGINE PSYCHIC CHOCO CHU PROBLEMS < Mewtwo teaches ChocoChu about controlling her hovering and one day Red comes home to her nyooming around the house > Red just like "Holy heck you can do that now???" < Also Mew decides that ChocoChu is A Friend > ChocoChu is a Friend to Everyone (Typed on Feb. 27)

Lyra

I was looking for Japanese terms of endearment and... "Another common one is to use a suffix based upon some sort of adorable trait, like -rin or -pon, that as far as I can tell is based upon some part of their personality and/or physical appearance--for example, if a child was a particularly chubby baby, -pon might have stuck (used after a vowel sound, like 'Aki-pon', for example)" LYRA-PON......... < LYRA-PON!! > Also apparently the Japanese don't really use terms of endearment...?? Just... nicknames. But still, that was a good find.

Silver

... Sudden Silver headcanon. He yells a lot ofc but he can't really take too much yelling himself. Especially if it's directed at him from someone he cares about. < ...what if when Silver gets yelled at by someone he cares about, even if they apologize later, he tends to crave some kind of physical affection from them so that he knows they still care about him Not that he'd show it but he wants to be loved > < If u fight with Silver, the best thing to do afterwards is give him a hug > Yep... He'll probably stiffen up, and then cry into ur shoulder for a little while, but it'll have him feeling better a lot faster.

Tbh I can't really see Silver conforming to labels. He was born a boy, that's what he's used to. Call him whatever you want, he doesn't fuckin' care, but he won't go out of his way to correct you. He's just like "whatever". < He alternately describes his gender as "whatever" "who knows" and "yes" > LMAO YES < "What is your gender?" "yes" > X P I just felt like Silver's so confident in who he is as a person, he wouldn't actively ask anyone to change the pronouns they use for him. < "Are you a boy or a girl?" Lusamine

... What do u think of Lusamine having Lillie take flute lessons < She probably had a strict regimen of Approved Extracirricular Activities for her kids > Yup. Lots of classy instrument lessons probably. No art tho - too messy and you can't really measure art by 'perfection'. Reading fiction was highly discouraged. Lusamine would throw out books she didn't approve of. 'Play time' was allowed with her in-game team of Pokemon, though it was more like sitting quietly while they pet the Pokés. They probs know a decent amount about sciencey shit tho they weren't supposed to go near the labs. Perfect handwriting was stressed and Lillie can and does write in picturesque cursive (it is EXTREMELY rare for her to write in print). You could ask her to do greeting cards. Toys in general were more or less frowned upon, but she allowed them to have some as long as they put them EXACTLY where they go when they're done playing. If not, the toy is thrown away. Gladion has had more toys thrown away than Lillie. No videogames. Ever. No TV either. ... Damn I feel bad just writing this... < I mean, all that would apply only AFTER Mohn fucked off to PokePelago, and we don't know how old they were when that happened. > Y E P It would probably be at least... oh, say... five years? So Lillie would've been about six and Gladion eight. Yeah, I think that fits. Lillie can remember a time her mother was kind, before their father disappeared, so it couldn't have been TOO long ago. Guzma

I gotta ask tho - what do you think Guzma and Hala's relationship was like when he was young? Because the text after you battle him seems to say they pretty much acted as master/apprentice for a while. ... I kinda wonder if Guzma respected him more as a father figure than his own dad... < ok but Hala has that temper right?? Y'know, I was thinking about how Guzma and Plumeria would've met the other day. I 100% bet you it would've been after Guz ran away. Currently RPing this - Btw... I thought of something of my own... Guzma kinda got off easy with that trip to Ultra Space, right? Well, what if he DIDN'T...? I was thinking about how he was just hangin' out there and how he'd been briefly possessed by the Nihilego... And what if he really wasn't okay mentally - what if he was dissociating? And it becomes, like, a huge problem for him, and that's a big reason that he gave up on Team Skull and went home. B/c if the grunts are mainly teenage kids with nowhere else even remotely healthier to go, why the hell would Guzma give up on them unless he had to? Think about it. His Pokemon = Therapy Bugs... < GOOD!! THERAPY BUGS!!! > ONE OF THE ONLY WAYS HE CAN FEEL BETTER IS BY MAINTAINING CONTACT WITH ONE OF HIS BUG BUDDIES, ESPECIALLY GOLISOPOD......... < Wouldn't he have like...a minor version of what Lusamine has, almost?? Fluff and Angst, Scar x Grian - It Isn't Your Fault

Scar returns from burning Etho's castle to find Grian in shambles. He does his best to comfort his friend, while also sparking a feeling he can't identify...

Ayy, something that's not pure angst for the third time in a row :P

That'll probably change after Tuesday tho, end of 3rdLife will temporarily kill me emotionally... I'm joking, but FYI there's probably gonna be a lot more angst cuz it puts me in that mood.

ANYWAY-

This was requested by @/Shashira2827 on Wattpad, hope you enjoy!

Scar's heart was racing as he burst through the cactus wall into the desert, but he had a crooked grin on his face. The smell of smoke and burning wool still lingered in his nose, though it was starting to be replaced by the familiar arid scents of the desert air. Etho's wool castle was no longer visible in the distance, blocked by hills and trees, but Scar could imagine it, along with the chaos as Etho struggled to put out the fires along with Tango; who, with any luck, he would no longer trust after Scar threw him under the bus. A chuckle escaped Scar as he remembered that scene. Oh, if he wasn't the king of chaos this time around, he didn't know who was.

"Grian!" Scar called, eager to share his recent shenanigans with his partner. "Grian?"

There was no response, but Scar didn't get worried at first. The desert was large after all, and often he had to search a while before he could find Grian. After several minutes of running around the desert and not being able to find him, though, Scar began to get a little concerned. Maybe Grian was just in the house, he told himself as he trudged up the staircase to their tower atop the hill.

Feeling oddly cautious, Scar slowly pushed open the door. It creaked loudly, causing him to wince, but nothing happened. "Grian?" Scar called again, only to be met with silence. Where was Grian?

Scar turned to leave again when he heard something, like a sniffle almost. He paused, listening carefully, then followed it to a corner of an upper room. To his surprise, Grian was curled up there, sniffling as tears streamed down his face. His eyes widened in alarm when he saw Scar and he tried to back away, but he didn't get far due to the wall directly behind him.

"Grian?" Scar asked softly. "What's wrong?"

"I-I..." Grian stammered, before trailing off, looking uncertain. Scar rarely saw him so scared and indecisive, if ever, and he didn't like it at all.

"It's okay, you can tell me anything," Scar reassured him.

"It's... I-it's everything!" Grian blurted out.

Scar was slightly taken aback, both at what Grian said and the pain in his voice as he said it. "Everything? What do you mean?"

Grian took a shaky breath. "This war going on... it's... it's getting crazy, Scar. Several people are already on their red or yellow lives, including you. Lines are being drawn, alliances are being broken...and it's only just started. When we start fighting... people will die, Scar." Tears began to pour again as his voice lowered to a whisper. "And even worse... I created this mess. If someone dies, it's my fault..."

Grian choked up, breaking down again. He sank to the floor, pulling his knees to his chest and resting his forehead on them. A twinge of sympathy passed through Scar's mind, and he sat next to Grian.

"It's not your fault," Scar told him gently.

"How is it not my fault?" Grian demanded.

"Well, for one, you didn't force any of us into this. We chose to be in this, even knowing the consequences. You aren't responsible for our choices, Grian," Scar replied.

"But what if I'm the one that leads them to their death? Like the creeper..." Grian murmured.

"It's part of the game. No one really blames you for it, nor should they," Scar reasoned.

"But-" Grian started again.

"No, Grian. None of this is your fault, okay? Everything might not be fine, but that's not because of you. You're just doing what you're supposed to," Scar said.

Grian sighed, beginning to calm down. Scar hesitated slightly, then wrapped an arm around Grian's shoulders. He glanced at Scar in confusion, and Scar wondered if it was okay; but before he could ask, Grian fixed his gaze on the space ahead of him, not making any move to push Scar away.

They stayed like that for a while. Grian eventually calmed down, but he didn't separate from Scar. At some point, he curled up, snuggling into Scar's side, and fell asleep not long after. Scar was content to stay there, not wanting to wake Grian and enjoying some peace. Absentmindedly, he stroked Grian's hair, and also found himself observing his comfortable little face. Something stirred deep in Scar's heart, filling him with warmth and happiness as he watched Grian. It seemed familiar somehow like he should know what it was. But he couldn't place his finger on it. Whatever it was, he didn't have much time to figure it out. Soon, he'd fallen asleep as well, his arms around Grian and his head resting on his partner's.

Meanwhile, Scott and Jimmy were making their way over to the desert to check in with Scar and Grian. They hadn't seen them in a while, and they had some things to ask as well. Scott remembered Grian saying something about planning to trap the desert eventually and was paranoid about every step, while Jimmy skipped ahead, keeping an eye out but not nearly as much as Scott.

"Please be careful, Jimmy, I don't want you getting blown up by our ally's contraptions," Scott sighed.

"I'm being careful! I won't get blown up again, I promise," Jimmy assured him.

Scott sighed again but didn't say anything else as they neared the house. Jimmy remembered to open the door cautiously, but when nothing exploded and nothing else potentially harmful happened, he headed in.

"Scar? Grian?" he called. There was no answer, and Jimmy turned back to Scott. "Do you think they went out somewhere?"

"Maybe..." Scott murmured. "Or they could be somewhere else in the desert."

"I'll go look! Be right back!" Jimmy said before sprinting outside.

Scott glanced around after Jimmy had left. Noticing a ladder, he began to climb up. His eyes widened slightly in surprise when he reached the top to see Scar and Grian curled up together, sleeping soundly. A quiet 'aww' escaped him when he'd gotten over the initial bit of shock to see them so close. Smiling, Scott descended the ladder, deciding that his questions could wait. Quietly, he made his way back outside to find Jimmy and report his findings.
