hey so uh. a little while back i was forced to leave where i lived for my own safety due to racist violence. i'm currently homeless living in an uninsulated caravan full of holes with my parents in the middle of nowhere (literally, it's over an hour to the nearest small town and 30 people live in an entire hour radius. i'm very remote.) with no electricity, water, or plumbing. we had a generator but it's been broken for several weeks now and we have EXTREMELY limited power because of it which means we have no heating at all. on top of that, since we have no heat or plumbing, if i want to take a shower i have to pay a minimum of $30 ish for petrol and the shower cost to get a lift into the nearest town and back. i can't really wash using a basin as often as i want to because of disabilities that are severely affected by cold and i'd have to wash out in the open in a field since we have no shed to wash in which is uhh... haha not ideal lol. as you can imagine. we don't really have any neighbours (they can still see us but they're not here right now) but it's extremely paranoia inducing. it also means i have to handwash all my clothes which has been causing issues with my disabilities too.
i hate to ask but could i please get some help to buy some warm clothes and bedding or something? several people on the block have contracted hypothermia in the past week and due to where we live we get hit with antarctic storms fairly frequently. i've been trying to stay positive but i'm honestly so fucking cold and getting increasingly malnourished, like i'm australian and all my clothes are only really good to keep warm if it's above like 15c/59f. it's also just very expensive just to exist here because it costs $40 in gas to get to the closest town we can actually buy groceries from + we need to buy and scavenge firewood wherever we find it because campfires are the only way we can heat up water or cook anything right now. i've been foraging and trapping invasive animals to supplement my diet but it's really not enough and i've been getting sick from malnourishment again. we also had e-coli in the household recently and three of us have gone into hospital (including myself) in the past month and i'm kind of at my limit. since we have no power i've had to pay a stupid amount for my phone bill and data also like everything is truly so fucking expensive.

Do you have any undeniable proof about how in pain Scottish Fold cats are? Someone I know believes that "only bad breeders" produce cats that have pain and I just don't think that sounds right, but I don't know where to look for info.
'Undeniable proof' is a hard claim because anything can be denied if a person is shameless, stubborn, and ridiculous enough. I've had clients deny that their cats are in severe pain even when the animal is visibly limping in front of us.
With that out of the way, start by talking about osteochondrodysplasia. That's a fancy way of saying 'fucked up cartilage disease', which is the thing that gives Scottish folds the cute little folded ears. Unfortunately, it doesn't just affect the cartilage in their ears. There's no gene that says 'please just a LITTLE fucked up cartilage, thanks <3'.
It affects ALL of their cartilage, joints, and bone development. It usually presents in very early onset arthritis: hump-backed, stiff legs (especially hind legs), and kinda 'crankly' feeling bones. They often have very stiff and shortened tails as well. Since they're in pain, they don't jump, move, or play as often. They also may just be kinda cranky because, again. Pain.
This is an autosomal dominant condition, meaning a cat has to inherit just one defective gene to display the traits. It's more severe in cats that are homozygous (inherited BOTH defective genes), but even a heterozygous cat is pretty severely affected.
A 'good' Scottish fold breeder ought to be breeding just straight-eared cats (inheriting 0 genes for this condition), but in practice 'good' SF breeders just breed straight-eared cat to a folded cat in the hopes of producing heterozygous kittens.
I still remember Fédération Internationale Féline (FIFe) and the World Cat Federation (WCF) offering free xrays to around 300 scottish fold breeders, trying to find just ONE fold with healthy hind legs.
Not a single breeder took up the offer. As a result, both organizations refuse to recognize the breed entirely.
The fact that even 'ethical' breeders who supposedly only breed unaffected cats won't stand behind their work and PROVE it speaks volumes.

Guys. I’m in love. These are some small, quick exercises for people who are bed-bound. It’s linked, but for anyone who doesn’t want to read it:
Hands, Shoulders, and Arms
Shrugging Shoulders
This exercise works best when it is done while sitting down. Shrug shoulders in a way that the shoulders reach the back of your head. It is best to repeat it 5 to 10 times a day.
Palm Stretching
To do this, open your palm and extend your fingers for a few seconds. Try to extend as much as you can until you feel a stretch. Now, touch your thumb with each finger individually. Repeat the same for both hands.
Arm Raises
A very simple exercise is to raise your left arm as high as you can above the head. After repeating it five times, repeat this five times with your right arm.
Now, raise your left arm again in front of you and then change your arm five times. These are called forward arm raises.
Now, for one of the best bed exercises for arms, raise your arm straight out to the side, this is called lateral arm raise. Do it one by one for each arm. If you have the strength, then do this for both arms at the same time.
Arm Crosses
For this, move your arms to the sides until you feel a minor stretch. Now, bring the arms closer to each other in a way that they pass each other in a cross.
Neck
Head Rotation
You can do this while sitting. You need to tilt your head to one side and then rotate it 360 degrees gradually. Repeat the exercise from one side and then repeat it in the reverse direction.
Head Turns
For this, you need to turn your head slowly from one extreme to another. Stretch your head in a way that you feel extreme tension on the side of the neck. Repeat this five times a day and increase the number of repetitions every few days.
Leg, Ankles, and Feet
Leg Rotation
To perform this, keep one of your legs still. Move the other leg to the outer side, a little away from the first leg. Bring it back again and repeat it for the same leg several times. Now, do the same for the other leg.
Ankle Rotation
For this one, extend your legs while sitting down or lying down. Now, raise your leg slightly above the surface. Rotate your ankles clockwise and anticlockwise. Do this at least five times each.
Toe Bends
While lying down, flex your toes when you point them. Stretch the toes outwards and then inwards, towards yourself.
Ankle Bends
Bend your toes in a way that they are pointing towards the ceiling and then backward.
Full Body
Hip Raises
To do this, you can lie down on your back and raise your lips slightly from the bed. You need to keep the hips in the air for a few seconds before you bring them down.
