Bare with me... I'm feeling the big sentimental

I can't express to you how much Marvolo means to me, the emotional connection I have to him I've never felt for another fictional character.

No matter what happening in my life I can just look at a photo of Volo and it physically heals me (my favourite ones are those where he is smiling)

Anytime I need to disassociate from my real life I come here, like when I thought that you left for good and won't be posting anything at all I have to literally sit and think what I would do to escape to someplace better. (but also thankfully you didn't delete the blog entirely)

I lost all my photos a while back god knows how... And one of the main reasons I was sobbing my eyes out at midnight was that I had so many photos of Marvolo and Rowan and I lost them all.

There aren't many places in real life where I feel safe... Your blog is one of the few where I do, feel safe to say the first thing that comes to my mind (even if they are mostly horny thoughts heh)

I feel like I have said so much yet I still want to say more...

The main thing is that you've felt safe since day 1 and I can count on my hands how many people in my life have made me feel that way

I can't see through the tears anymore so I'm going to end it here <33

I do remember at one point that I had said if I left the HL fandom, I'd be taking my blog with me.

I've since realised I don't want to do that because of the bond I have to this blog now and you guy's.

Tbh, the last few days was mainly me saying goodbye to HL side of things. Because I'm not going to be posting HL content anymore (aside from a few audio's that I may make to use up my 11labs letters, then after that, I won't be posting the HL stuff anymore. And at first I thought that was also going to include my OC stuff, i'm still on the fence about what I wanna do regarding content on my OC's, but i'm happy posting murder hubby pics for now, I will make some audio's of him too, I still don't know if its worth me writing anything currently, and I wanted to take a break from doing written posts anyway for the time being, I really don't know what I wanna do.

All I know is that RIGHT now, my heart is still VERY invested in my creation of Marvolo, and tbh, Rominis too (Ominis being the only HL character I still care about because of what i built with him and Rowan) so it's hard to decide what I want to do right now in regards to written posts. I've had so many people reach out and tell me to stay and JUST write Marvolo / OC stuff if that's what makes me happy, and I mean, they're right, I should just do whatever I want, but my brain isn't my friend at the moment.

I've got pictures to post, and those 11labs letters to use, I'm just kinda taking each day as it comes to see what I want to do.

I've also had people tell me my HL love might spark again when HL2 comes out, which let's be real, isn't going to be for a long time I reckon, but yeah, I'm going to keep this blog up definitely, and I'm still going to be around ❤️

alright, i looked trough your blog and it is quite fascinating both for original parts of your narrative and how it seems specifically based off of ultrakill plot as of 6-2. with later versions will you plan to edit your AU to fit with new narrative elements or you prefer to keep it true to how it is now?

on the note of newer narrative elements, what is your interpretation for mind of hell? it really does seem that if ultrakill has a true main antagonist then it is hell itself. and with current way how it was characterized it seems to have "inherited" the world from god and is in complete control over current situation. angels are lost without gods plan and just try to make the same motions as before. humanity may have actually been ended by hell's design, even with how much the earths machines act as a force of nature hell seems to comfortably channel them like water and using for its own purposes and entertainment. so far hell restrained itself only for its wins to be more cathartic (various "uprisings" on different layers), and so far is the most in control and very distinctly from everyone else is absolutely enjoying its time

so yeah, i am really curios on your take on hell's mind in both official material and your AU since i saw only very passing mentions for it in your posts

p.s. absolutely love your art, your character designs are immaculate❤️

ooooo good questions tbh...i've definitely thought a lot about what will happen with the au as ultrakill reaches its end and what i'll do about elements obviously becoming unfit compared to the story. i think it really depends on how much it's going to be off, but i will be honest in saying i would have a tough time abandoning my ocs if official versions of michael, raphael, uriel, or lucifer are introduced! i think of course they would be well done and i would actually love to see them in canon, but i think it would cause a divergent au in that case. because i would love to explore how this au might fit into whatever becomes canon, but i've just developed the world and characters too much to leave the au behind as it is now. overall though, i just need to see how it ends and what it introduces to know where i might want to go, if i'd want to do a properly canon-divergent au when everything is said and done, or if i might just...stick with a canon-divergent from 6-2 onward. it's funny bc i actually was nervous about this just with layer 7 dropping, so i can't imagine how anxious i'll be for the last 2 layers! esp with lucifer looming in treachery - i think it's very up in the air if any of the other archangels will play a role in the game at this point, but more about lucifer is highly likely to come imo so!!! it's a big waiting game to find out!!

you're right in that i haven't done too much with hell, though i am interested in it as a character - i have considered it more with lucifer becoming much more of an element in the au, as he has spoken with it constantly and hell is sort of...in love with him, in an abstract way. it views him still as one of the most beautiful works it has, the first bright and radiant thing it had ever seen in its misery, but hell has become utterly engrossed with the cruelty of humanity. while lucifer was some celestial god that fell to it, humanity had minds much like it, and so it fell in love with them in a way it could understand. hell is always searching for more, an artist always looking for inspiration while holding lucifer as its muse. it's the capacity they connect with on the most, both great creators with god's spark in them, and admittedly, in his suffering, lucifer sometimes understood hell's work. but lucifer was secure, lucifer it had always to speak to, but increasingly it whispered the brutality of mankind, the wonderful inventions of their minds and the horrible works of their hands it began to copy. it hooked itself into the terminals they installed, and so lucifer gained all the knowledge of machines through their internal circuit. and when mankind was wiped out, hell became master in a world run by automation with all the creators gone from their servants. it has all it wants, and it indulges in testing its creations upon the machines and the husks of mankind in such tangible joy that an abstract like lucifer could not bring to it. lucifer it relates to in hatred, in his deep, abyssal loathing of the god that trapped him here, but even that is something more abstract to hell than the brutality of humanity - lucifer hates perfectly, he hates with the mind of god, and it is not met precisely by hell as hell was born into what it is.

so what then can hell feel when lucifer is released from it, when the dragon is cut down and its flesh severed from treachery's? this is really where i want to explore the relationship between lucifer and hell, what they are to each other - hell is a take on "this place loves you", but it is entirely malignant, noxious and harmful, while lucifer recognizes it as the hideous creation he fell trying to destroy, yet it is now irrevocably his home, the one entity he now knows. they are tangled up in each other, lucifer in an obvious sense but hell now cannot bear to lose its little spark of god's light. something in his beauty sustains it, it pulls at him constantly now that he's partially left it, and lucifer is stranded not knowing what decision to make. he still hears it speaking to him, esoteric fragments made up of the ambient noise of its body, but what can he do with it now? it is alive, sentient, a being put into a wretched position by god which condemns it for how antithetical it is to the fulfillment of all other creations. lucifer wanted it gone. he protested against it all those eons ago. but now he is frozen by choice, seeing it behave as some evil god yet knowing it cannot be any other way. what is fair then? to find some way to kill it? to cut off whatever constitutes its brain? to reason with it? try to change its very essence? lucifer must work through the possibilities while accepting hell, in so many ways, is the place he now wants to be. free at last, but once more full of despair. how can he kill his home and what might be his only friend? how can he reason with it, when he once tried the same with god and was struck down? how can he change it when he is just a pale shadow of what made something so monstrous in the first place? yet he fears hell will grow angry in its stasis, in running out of victims for its cruelty, and act out in retaliation

Hi! First of all I just want to say that I adore your blog and Fjorn! One of my favorite tumblrs 100% (:

I have a question about oc’s and development and backstory. I have a Female high elf (rogue) and i’m trying to write a backstory for her, like where she comes from, her family, past lovers etc what happened before she met the companions basically. But its SO hard and usually i have no problem with this but with bg3 i feel like i’m more limited with the ideas, because i want it to make sense with the bg3/dnd universe. Like the place she grow up in etc, i feel like that has to be a place related to high elfs in the bg3/dnd universe if that makes sense? Anyway do you have any tips when writing backstorys for your oc? Thanks a lot!

Hello there! Thank you so much for the love, I appreciate it! I’m gonna be honest, I don’t have very good tips when it comes to writing backstories and I feel like I’m still in the process of figuring that out myself – but I’ll share tidbits from my process if it can help!

Generally speaking, I take specific concepts or ideas from other medias/characters I like to start with (for instance, the idea of a tragic past and trying to escape from someone for years until a nautiloid snatches my Tav away – a miracle in disguise, aka the beginning of bg3). I also knew I wanted my character to somewhat go through the following states: good – evil – neutral.

Thus began the process of reading! So the first thing I did was figure out if there was a good race that would work with that. I was thinking of a Drow or maybe a Tiefling, but I eventually settled for Aasimar despite them not being in the game. Then I stumbled upon Fallen Aasimar and was like damn… this is perfect for the concept of a ‘‘damned’’ character. After figuring that out, I thought about the class and what would fit the best. Tbh I had just watched The Witcher: Blood Origin (wasn’t great) so a big inspiration for Fjorn was Merwyn and Fjall (with Fjall being assigned as her protector, and Merwyn – an Empress- being evil), so I settled for Paladin since they swear Oaths and it worked with that concept. It wasn’t until Larian announced Paladins and showcased Oathbreakers during the Panel from Hell for Patch 9 that I decided that’s what I would choose for him. Dark Knight is one of the most interesting classes for me in FFXIV, and I really wanted to have something similar for Fjorn; I thought it fitted the idea of ‘‘sometimes you have to do bad in order to do good’’.

So yeah, I take characteristics from other characters that I really love and just combine all of my favorite things together! It’s not really a tip, but something worth mentioning is that the different Wikis out there are extremely useful: Forgotten Realms Wiki, DnD 5th Edition Wikidot, Baldur’s Gate Wiki, DnD Beyond, (wouldn’t recommend Fextralife), etc. I also spent quite some time on reddit just looking up other people’s DnD OC concepts, which did spark some ideas! I wouldn’t worry tooooo much about things not making sense though, the one thing I love about DnD is that you can go absolutely wild and get away with almost anything.

In your case, would probs start reading up about high elves, although I feel like they could come from nearly anywhere. According to different wikis, there are different kinds of high elves in the Forgotten Realms: moon elf, sun elf, star elf, dark elf and llewyrr. There’s most likely way more info about them out there, possibly also more kinds, but this could serve as a base. Click on one and then read about them until one catches your eyes and just go from there since they may have different cultures, different upbringing, different characteristics, etc.

Sorry this is kinda all over the place, but I hope this helps you a bit more!

Dr Who Reviews, Daily.

Hi, and welcome to whatever the fuck this is!

The plan for this blog is to watch and review every dr who episode, in order, and rank them all on my Totally Objective Scale of Doctor Who Quality (TOSDWQ or something for short. No don’t say that actually. That just sounds bad).

I’m hoping to get through the entire classic show (including specials, shorts, and the films, that’s 701 episodes, which will take me up to October 2024) but I do also have plotted out a vague plan to do the wilderness years content, the new show, SJA, Torchwood, and Class, which will take me to almost exactly three years from now. What with A-Levels, uni, and having an entire life, that probably won’t happen, but it’s nice to pretend to have a plan at least.

Explanation of my Totally Objective Scale of Doctor Who Quality under the cut:

All episodes are ranked on 6 different scales of 1-5, with a total score out of 30. The criterea are as follows:

Point 1 - “Is it an entertaining watch?” - the fun factor, or, how much did I actually enjoy the experience of the episode. This is where I would give my score out of 5 for the whole thing overall, factoring in points that will come into question for the other categories

Point 2 - “Does the production hold up?” - do the effects look like absolute ass? Is that clearly cardboard wall wobbling when an actor so much as breathes near it? Is half the cast in yellowface? This isn’t really about any sort of “objective” scale (I hate objectivity) but more a measure of how distracted I actually was by dated production values, because sometimes something looks like shit but I like it anyway (see: most model work tbh I will appreciate a good model before I complain about it not being 100% realistic)

Point 3 - “Does it use its time well?” - the pacing of Classic Who episodes is never great, is it? Sometimes nothing happens for half an hour. Sometimes too much happens and nothing gets enough focus. Sometimes the cliffhanger is a dramatic shot of some floor tiles. There’s so many ways that Doctor Who fucks this up, it’s honestly incredible.

Point 4 - “Are the characters consistent and well-used” - Doctor Who is a show in which writers always fail to use their main cast properly. Sometimes they’re too focused on their own OCs to give any of the regulars something to do, sometimes it’s just that someone gets locked in the Tardis and does nothing for almost the whole episode, and sometimes William Hartnell was unwell and they had to scatter his lines through the other characters. This one will be one of the more variable as to what I focus on, because sometimes a character being absent means more time for the others, and sometimes it’s obvious that the writer just had no idea what to do with them.

Point 5 - “Is there anything actually going on under the surface” - science fiction is always political in some way, but watching certain episodes of Doctor Who you wouldn’t fucking know it. Baseline is a 2 or 3, where there isn’t really anything that interesting going on but I could read something in there if I tried. A 1 must be that they’re actively trying to be as apolitical or stupid as possible, and while removing politics is in itself a political statement, I still think they should be punished for it.

Point 6 - “Does it avoid being a bit dodge with its politics” - this one exists because the week I was coming up with these ideas was also the week that @polaritypod (hi i love u guys) refused to review The Talons of Weng-Chiang and I thought about it and was like. Yeah you can’t really talk about Doctor Who without thinking about how bad some of it is to us. And while I’m not going to just ignore the cultural context that something was produced in, I do think an “and we do condemn! wholeheartedly!” approach is important. Just because it was the 1960s doesnt mean it’s suddenly fine. This is also the segment where I’ll ramble on the most, sometimes because I think there’s something happening but can’t quite put it into words, sometimes because it’s just that bad. h-hewwo?

so hi, its been a hot sec lmao.

i literally don't even know where to start honestly, i wasn't planning on opening tumblr or writing this out today but here we are. i haven't posted or even opened this site in well over a year, and A LOT has happened in my life during that time, as i expect has happened in everyones.

to summarise, i went and passed my first year of uni, but took a year out because of mental health. i realised while i was there i had some things about my brain to look into and sure enough 8 months later i had an official diagnosis of adhd(with compound autism) which has honestly helped me so much, but also opened a lot of other doors with more questions that need answering. i also figured out i'm trans non binary! my names Roo and my pronouns are they/them. thats been another huge step that i'm still exploring a lot, but i feel so much better for it. i go back to uni this september and am both nervous and excited.

as for my blog here, i don't rly know what i'm doing with it yet. tbh i hadn't thought about it a whole lot, but opening it up today and remembering all the time i spent here and the friends i've made (i hope you guys are all doing good, if you're even still here) it has made me a bit nostalgic. sims was my expression for so long, and i don't think i realised how much it meant to me or helped me until very recently, so i thank you all who interracted with me, collaborated with me, or even just silently appriciated the silly stories i posted here, i very much haven't forgotten that.

i'd love to say this is me announcing i'll be back to posting, but i honestly don't know. my story, outcast, and all my oc's are things i still think about all the time, so who knows, when i finally work up the time and energy to reinstall sims and all my mods onto my new pc, maybe the hyperfixation will kick back in akjgfrjhgf

as for where you can find me (if you want) i stream very regularly on twitch, clown about on twitter and am pretty much always active on discord (my user is Tanrooki#3028) i'd love to reconnect with some old friends from here if the stars align.

Cryptolalia - inspirations

theres a this like... meme on a discord i saw and i thought its be fun to write further about this in a blog post. so, heres 6 inspirations for my world... theyre all media admittedly, and i think i kinda made this list to remind myself to take another look at these as its been many years for a lot of them.

Eidolon (game) - the Oldest of my inspirations, its hard to explain as I havent touched this game since 2015 but like.... it greatly inspired by first ideas on some of the stuff that goes on in the world regarding weird powers/abilities. I do need to replay it and remind myself on Why it inspired me, tbh.

Steven Universe (series) – undoubtedly inspired by SU, it was ongoing during the period I made my Ocs and the alien/space stuff?? Yeah, couldn't deny it. Most even more so the emotional side of that show greatly impacted how I wanted to tackle my characters and story too in the larger scope!

Ratchet & Clank (game) – a long time interest that sparked my whole OC world, since my OC used to be fan characters. While the series is more lighthearted than what I plan to do, the world building of RaC (in the Future series mainly, and Rift Apart) has no doubt left an impression on me considering my characters started there!

Bearer Of The Heart (album) – I find a lot of musical inspiration because I really hope to communicate that in by world/story.... this album really hits narratively but also overall musically. Its hard to describe how music just. Feels a certain way, but it does. The artists common themes in scifi also generally inspire me too, as I love their aesthetics.

Floatillion (web comic) – Not too much to say on this one, as like many of the above I think I am inspired by so many parts of these things. Many bits and pieces spark something in me whether its the concepts, the tone, or writing. (this comic was left unfinished sadly but its a good read)

Outer Wilds (game) – undeniably the most recent media that made me think 'oh god I want this'. In terms of scifi, alien focus stories, it did so much I yearned for. But the way it did it (art style, music, etc) really got me too. Again music is a huge defining thing for tone in my eyes, so it really sticks out to me.

Eidolon is one i for sure need to revisit as i never properly finished the game. I dont think it will hold as strong to my story as it did then, but theres something tugging me towards it again.

I do feel like a lot of my inspirations media wise just pull me towards to many things at all the time. its kinda an issue- as it makes it hard for me to sit down and say "ok, this is what im gonna do", when i see a cool thing and think "ok i wanna do that too actually". but i think looking back at what hyped me up initially will be good to do so i can remember now in my Adult mind, what it is that stuck with me.

I honestly don't do as much art (asiwantto) of my ocs as i used to, but the ones i have often are tied to rp stories me and a friend do for fun.

I honestly can't think of the last time i independently made an oc, and with my mental health only just recently finding some stability, maybe its time to play brain dolls again XD

Some of my oldest OCs were from when i tried to make my own warrior cats thing. which is very funny because i read the first book and cracked my 10 year old knuckles and whipped up a whole burgeoning binder stuffed to the brim with lore, art, maps and the like of my own version but with magic and stuff lol.

Next in the timeline is some Sgt. Frog OCs that at one point morphed a little into little demon OCs. These mostly manifested as notebooks of handwritten fanfiction (i dont even think i was reading more than creepypasta at this time, but thats another story) and also as Flipnotes!

Then, when Flipnote kind of died, i came here to tumblr to follow an artist I enjoyed the work of. I hope they're doing well.

My first impression of tumblr in 2013~ was that it was overwhelming and different and just was more of a "i'll make an account and come back later maybe." and went back to deviantart, where i had been uploading scanned drawings and ms paint doodles since like 2011.

Deviantart peetered out for me, and I don't remember exactly why, but I ended up back here and actually had an ask!AU character from show rp account on the side along with my main blog.

A lot of my ocs were a lot of self inserts or manifestation of childhood frustration, but one of my favorites was just a plain silly demon rabbit thing named Tekona (should google that to make sure its still a nonsense word tbh).

Then, eventually when i moved away from doing omegle rp prompt stuff (2013-2014~?) i was doing rp with ocs with friends irl. We would doodle little faces of our ocs and their reactions, and a response to the previous on pieces of paper. That's where Tobias Moore came from, who i actually recently did a drawing of his demon form!

I've been thinking about trying to make a new oc just for me to shake around a fishbowl with marbles and ripped-up grass (so to speak lol) but brain fog and my early adulthood being unstable kind of made me have to figure out why i love art in the first place. That, and the online rat-race for artists i was kind of conditioned from a young age to strive for broke my brain during the worst of my irl instability.

Now, i focus most of my art stuff with irl friends and community, and hope to actually vendor sculptures i make out of polymer clay this year! Things are looking up, but my mental health and newly understood disabilities still make the every day a huge effort. Easier than it was, and it will get easker than it is now, but i still put a lot of energy into basic living skills. When I do have good spurts of energy, i've been finding it easier to just go for some art stuff than before.

Anyway, this is becoming a ramble more than I thought it would be, but I suppose making OCs is tethered to more parts of me and my life and health than I thought, and it was nice to take a closer look at that for a bit.

In short, a bulk of my OCs are from my childhood and teenage years, and a lot of inspirations were from shows, anime and other artists online I enjoyed!

1 - 03/07/2023 : one of my fave drawings of this year! Sage and Buttercup hangin out, Sage is.. not good at taking photos, meanwhile Butters is defo a bit of a shutterbug, just brothers who are total opposites of one another

2 - 07/07/2023 : twas thinking of Kubo again at this point and wanted to doodle him, hes a bit emo but thats ok x

3, 4 - 18/07/2022 : 2 pen doodles (spooky!) of Ru n Toni, i wanted to doodle them semi realistic, mostly exploring their facial features, Toni is my fave of these 2 coz honestly thats exactly how id imagine she'd look, with her rounder features and a bit of a pronounced chin, her smaller (height wise) nose, generally smaller and rounder features than Ru... Ru's eyes are quite pretty here tho... u will see more pen doodles soon

5 - 19/07/2023 : saw a post (think its on my OC tag blog actually) about hard lad bisexual men walking into poles and busting their noses and walking away pretending like nothing happened, and it immediately made me think of Caspian, so i drew him having a nose sploot and trying to act cool, he'd promptly walk away snorting with his hands in his pockets and spitting

6, 7 - 20/07/2023 : back 2 basics Ru! one of my fave Rushada drawings, dressed a lil differently and proposing a life where she was a worm... would u still love her? be honest x

2nd one, i think im funny he he.. Surge in the sonic OVA meme pose calling Kit Wails (like wa tails. like wario. so surge is probably wonic.) i had a lot of fun drawing this tbh and im happy with the execution

8 - 25/07/2023 : no way.. Ru and her weird cat (Luisa)....... i said somethin like that and it made me think of them as the Spirit Phone cover art, so i drew this, another of my faves, this was a good month for art despite not drawing much

9 - 26/07/2023 : another of Ru n Luisa, i think Ru's hair is long enough for Luisa to hide in if she wants, probably when she's upset, Ru doesn't quite know how to react, which is a common thing with her and Luisa coz thats not her kid she just happens to get stuck babysitting her.. i luv Ru here shes adorable

10, 11 - 30/07/2023 : phone doodles! tried planning out what Trixie's fullbody would look like, im pleased with this but will have to do a fully detailed drawing at some point. last one is a silly TTTE reference, i think Trixie likes to honk at Richie bc she is very rude x

qiqi is so adorable i love her yes i'd like to adopt her thank you wait whatttt omg she's came home to me twice now... mona has yet to grace me with her presence... but tbh i played her on the gaa event and i... didn't really like her playstyle that much, so i'll take another qiqi if i lose another 50/50. or a diluc. i have his stupidly handsome outfit ready for him.

hubby is a good shielder and dps!!! try your luck and pull for him!!! i don't have him on my acc but i played him so much using my brother's acc where's he built as a dps- and hskdjsjdh he's so good ;w; oh is al haitham a 5-star character?? big oof, i thought he was gonna be a 4-star 😶 welp in that case he might not come home then... cause i'm prepared to spend whatever is necessary to bring zhongli home...... 🙃

Okay so one thing I really like about your blog is your theme i think it is very cute and i like the colors and i like how it changes depending on the time of day i just think it is very cute.

But like in a more serious sense, i really love how like your blog is a treasure trove of very good info about your muses you reblog lots of different kinds of posts about your oc's which is v helpful for the uninitiated traveling through the pages and looking for fodder to start interactions with you.

I also think it's v cool how often you tag your rp partners ( not just me although it does make my heart go doki doki <3 ) because like! I don't know if you know how special it feels to write with you because you are so enthusiastic and so interested in other people's art and writing and muses. It's like. Sometimes the rpc feels very insular and isolated and it's discouraging, but you, Nico, are very warm and genuine and interested and i think it's just so nice and i know for a fact that I am not the only person who appreciates having someone be so communicative and interested in the silly little things we are making together.

Your writing is obviously very good. I love the emotion you put behind all of your characters and I love your word choice. I like how the tone of replies changes between characters. Kai's are musical and sing song and whiplash-y because of his emotional stuff. Red's are very internal and there's a struggle where you watch him try to decide just what he's going to allow the other muse to know and it's honestly! so interesting waiting to see what hypothetical ( and not hypothetical!) my muse is going to learn from him and what I, the writer, will be the only one who gets to know. Keerin feels so even keeled and Steady, but there's this turbulence that they keep to themselves and it kinda leaks out sometimes in more emotional threads and I think that's so interesting because it has so much potential to go places. Umm............ Jay is just so fun. I love the way Jay talks and I love Jay's whole Shounen Protag vibe i love the character arc I've seen her go through with other rp partners of yours and I love the contradiction inherent in someone so warm and fun but also so secretly private.

I love bouncing my muses off of yours because I think we find similar issues compelling and it's fun to see how our characters have developed and where their similarities branch off into stark differences (Like Tessa and Kai :3).

Anyway, I could keep going and this is already very long and I'm not sure if it makes very much sense, but I will wrap this up by saying that I think the best part of your blog is you because you are so hardworking and kind and creative and talented and you are so willing to support the people around you and you are so caring and passionate and ily v much and i hope you know that you are a gem in the rpc and a gem of a human being in general mwah mwah mwah

Yeah genuinely, was being 100% honest with you there! I'm flattered that your flattered if that makes sence- that you got a little teary eyed(in the good way), like that warms my heart to know.

I was definitely taken aback that you've been through a similar scinario to mine in regards to having a filtered mind- and once again it's comforting to know this shfhhd. Although mine was based around Religion and some cult-like aspects-, the impact different things can have on how open someone is can surprisingly lead to similar results!

I'm overjoyed that you were able to get out of your filtered mindset, i cant imagine how refreshing it must be! :D. It fills me with inspiration and hope for a better future for myself ^^.

Honestly, like I write the best description I can of my OCs to the best of my ability, like imma be honest for example certain hairstyles can be so fuckin hard for me to describe, I usually have to search up a list and see what their called essentially, except for like, the quiffs n stuff obviously-

I always feel honored though when someone wants to draw my OCs, like im not a very particular person for details unless I specify some very intricate ones like for example, if I specify a scar on certain characters and what the scar is- then i get be a lil particular about it but just,, in general i dont really mind-

and oh Jeremy absolutely would! Jeremy loves puppets, loves puppet-making and to see someone with similar interests, he might have p bad anxieties n shit like that but by g o d s is he going to try and help out with the puppet making process, tbh he’d probs tune into that and forget even that he was talking to a person beforehand, just saying s o much about the process to the point where,, it might be overwhelming hjgkfjfdks

and yeye I get’cha, no worries and oh yeah I used to filter myself a lot, like the best example I can use for filtering myself would have to be wrestling, like I used to NEVER open up or talk too much bout it, guess I was afraid of being judged n shit like that but now? Imma be honest, even if someone does ever judge me, I legit?? dont? Care?? check out truebjdconfessions. i know youre not into dolls but you asked and i think youd have a field day with it. the current Huge argument in the hobby is recasts. since bjds are a luxury hobby, its mostly artists who make them, and they dont make like, tons and tons of money or anything, its way more about the passion than the money (ok this is biased because im a sculptor myself) but 'recasts' are pretty much people taking these artists dolls, making copies, and selling them for cheaper. basically art theft but for dolls. and if it was like normal knockoffs id be totally cool with it, like people who make knockoffs of barbies are fine cause barbie is a million dollar company like they have more than enough money already. but its just scummy to me cause its targeting these smaller artists.. plus like, its a luxury hobby? bjds are expensive to make AND to buy! and as a sculptor myself who is working on concepts for my own bjds id be super upset if someone else was making money off my hard work. however. there are some 'pro-artist' people who say pretty vile things about recast owners which i def dont agree with. i think people treat it as way more high stakes than it is tbh? like this is a pretty small doll collecting hobby... someone owning a recast doesnt make them an evil scum of the earth person. just makes them not someone i personally would wanna hang around. theyre still people, which i think is pretty easy to forget over the internet. oh also another bjd drama thing thats unrelated to recasts: so a lot of people, myself included, customize these dolls to be our own specific original characters. and some people get VERY VERY upset about people 'copying' their ideas... to the point where back in like 2015, if you put a pink wig and glitter on a doll, you would be accused of copying by like 10 people, 5 of whom were Popular in the community, who would then start accusing Each Other of copying too, and just saying all sorts of nasty shit to you and each other. but yeah. check out that blog and be sure to read replies on posts you think are particularly juicy. sorry if this is weird to infodump about btw, i am literally mega autistic and bjds are my special interest lol. have a good one man!!

please do not apologise for this like I literally read it slowly, piece by piece, basking in all of the highly nuanced drama contained within. this is exactly what I love about hobby drama. it's so specific and it's going on, right now, and how would I ever even begin to guess at what was going on if not for people giving me a heads-up? this must be how it feels to be a journalist with an inside scoop. I love it.

I literally cannot get over the nerve of some people though like the sheer balls (pun not intended) it takes to take something that's so obviously unique and then just... blatantly steal it. like people aren't going to notice? and also the whole thing about things that are essentially copyrighted but are relatively common things -- I was instantly reminded of some niche drama I read about a while back involving a South Park RP community, and some South Park OCs that were having beef because one person created an OC who was pretty distinctive, being albino, and then somebody else created an albino OC and there was just a whole load of drama and godmodding and I think the entire RP community just like, imploded? you can read the entire account here, it's absolutely wild.

I was wondering what are your opinions on ( usually from US ) foreigners using greek deities for their paganism? It always sort of bothered me to see videos of a girl from Minnesota , say that the deity she works with is Aphrodite or something ( while pronouncing the name with the most americanized accent ever) and then go on and describe how they look and how they act as if the god is a original character of theirs rather than an actual deity. It just doesn't make much sense to me...do they do that with other pantheons? Like do they take Ra and be like " ah yes my spiritual god" ? ?

( ps. I'm so happy that another person on this app despises LO , it's refreshing to see people standing up to the massacre that the creator has done to mythology)

As I've answered in the past, I don't have a problem with foreigners who worship the Greek gods. And now I won't talk about the ones who read ancient texts and try to be as respectful as possible, but the ones you mentioned.

It's not "a good look" when they don't do their research and just worship them because of "vibes". They haven't studied at all and think their own knowledge and intuition are enough. They worship or "work" with one deity and bash the rest or badmouth other deities (because they usually have a background in a monotheistic religion, they think polytheism works the same, that you just choose one god as your patron and that's it), they don't have an idea about how respect in the Greek culture worked/works, they don't even read about how these gods have been worshiped and what their domains ACTUALLY are (and not what American pop culture tells them).

And it's also weird that they don't research about the Greek names of the gods despite them being "obsessed" about them. Religion is not a hobby and gods are not OCs or your pals. (Idk if their old church told them something like that about Jesus and now they think the Divine is like this but it's not the same for the Greek pantheon).

Many pagans are extremely selective with their paganism, creating a mix and match of gods and attributes that don’t exist in Greek culture. (I guess they don’t feel the need to search further?) That’s not bad exactly, but it can be weird. Honestly, anyone can worship however they want, I am not the one to dictate that. But when you come from the Greek culture and know certain rules about worship and respect about certain gods, it’s off putting to be cut off by a foreigner who thinks they know better because of “feelings”. Especially if it’s obvious that person hasn’t studied that deity within the context of the religion at all.

Imagine me working in my paganism with Shiva just like some Americans work with Aphrodite, let’s say -- without any contact with actual Hinduism, its principles and how the different branches view Shiva, without the rituals, without his proper clothing and symbols. Everyone would be (kinda rightfully :p) raging at me. There is free will and rights, but we also must be thoughtful about our actions. Just because something is legal and within our rights, it doesn’t mean that it’s the best action xD For example, Hindus are the ones who worshiped this deity for millennia and have constructed a proper set of rituals and prayers in order for the person to reach him better. Now, we can’t have a random person from Greece saying “umm yeah let me throw all that ancient knowledge aside. I just need my crystals and some tarot cards”. And, on top of that, imagine me not giving him respect as the great deity he is, but constantly saying “ommg Shiva would love feta because I just KNOW he likes salty food! He would drink karpouzi chai with me on the beach and he would also wear crocks because he is dorky heehee”

Perhaps some Americans view the Greek gods as American property and that’s why they don’t feel the need to search further into a different culture and practice.

And because a LOT of foreign Greek pantheon worshipers are like that, many Greeks are like "uuugh" when they hear about foreign worshipers. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On the LO subject, you might have already found the anti lo tag (or anti lore Olympus) on my blog and on Tumblr in general. If you haven’t I urge to search it! There are many anti LO blogs. I don’t post as much but there are others who do. antiloreolympus is one of those blogs and has lists with other anti LO blogs!
