This can go one of two ways. Either you’re fixated on the cheery cutesy retellings of fairy tales (which Neige adores), or you’re fixated on the original fairy tales that make him have nightmares some nights. Either way, he will love you.

If it’s the former, he’d be happy to read them to you and with you! Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if he and the Dwarves read each other stories regularly. You can absolutely join in and make silly hand puppets and voices with them! Neige tells you over and over that they’d be happy to have you. <3

If it’s the latter, Neige will still support you! Honestly I think he’s a horror geek. Like people would expect him to be scared but he can recount the most gory of moments without batting an eye. It’s the sad tales that get him.

If you ever bring up how he reminds you of Snow White (because he literally IS) he’ll blush and swat the notion away. You think I can measure up to such a beautiful and kind princess? You’re too much!

Neige would listen to you ramble with hearts in his eyes and a dreamy sigh. You know how in older movies the love interest will rest their cheek on their fist and sigh as they sink down so the skin of their cheek bunches up against their knuckles? I hope I explained that right because that's exactly what he’d do.

One day, Neige will ask you what kind of prince you like the best. When you laugh and say that it’s him, the only prince you could ever want, you swear you see hearts and butterflies flying around his head. He’s so in love with you.

Skimming the shelves, you mumble titles to yourself as you search for the cookbook Sebastian recommended to you. You’d offhandedly mentioned making a pie for a certain someone, and the butler was quick to catch onto what you were actually trying to do. After all, said certain someone had been working hard enough to lose valuable sleep, and you weren’t the only one becoming concerned.

Snatching the book off the shelves as soon as you find it, you begin flipping through the pages. You’re so absorbed in the recipes and detailed descriptions of sweet treats that you don’t notice the other presence creeping up behind you.

“Well, I’ll be! Newt is quite a lucky guy!” Arthur hums thoughtfully, nearly scaring you out of your skin.

“Hey! What are you doing here?” you yelp.

Arthur laughs heartily as you fumble with the book, snapping it shut. Your gaze is scornful as you whip around to face him, lips twisted into a pout.

“Aw, I’m sorry love. I didn’t mean to scare you.” he slides up to you, leaning in to get a closer look at the book, “If you want to make something for him, I’d recommend something with apples. Our old Newt loves them dearly!”

Apples? You furrow your brow, running through the list of apple desserts you know. And how did he know it was for Isaac?!

“Oh, and love? Why not make the dessert with him? It’ll drag him away from his work.” Arthur winks, and just like that, he slips out of the kitchen.

That’s how you ended up here, with Isaac at your side. It’d taken quite a bit of convincing to get him out of his room and even more convincing to have him agree to bake an apple pie with you, but somehow you succeeded. You doubt anyone else would have gotten the same result.

Isaac’s soft voice is quite loud in the silence of the kitchen as he reads out ingredients, murmuring under his breath about how he would measure them and doing calculations to make sure the dessert was perfect—

“Woah, hold on Isaac!” you place a hand on the recipe book, pulling it away from his face.

He immediately stops at the sudden contact, pretty eyes blown wide at the sight of you so close to his face.

“This isn’t supposed to be a science experiment! We just need to have fun, okay?” you try your best to smile in a way that will calm him down and help him understand.

Isaac simply looks away and grasps at his hair, twirling the loose strands around his index finger.

“Okay.” he murmurs, and you do a mental celebratory dance.

COMMENTS: THIS GOT DARKER THAN I EXPECTED OOPS um. silly angel simeon and his worry over fragile human beings. this was supposed to be fluff my bad.

“would you like me to get you another blanket?” simeon asks, hands resting on your shuddering shoulders.

“i’m okay, i just need to warm up.” you smile over at him, hoping to soothe his worry.

simeon doesn’t look convinced. even after begging you to put on three sweaters at once and two pairs of fluffy socks, he was still convinced you would drop dead from the cold at any given moment.

“simeon.” you call out to him as he gnaws at his bottom lip, frantically rubbing your arms to transfer heat.

he snaps out of it, gaze turning almost sheepish.

“i’m not going to get sick and pass away because of a little cold. we have a nice fire going, we’re both bundled up, and we have each other. i’ll be okay, promise. so please stop worrying so much, okay?” you offer him another smile, leaning into him, “i’m lucky to have you taking care of me. don’t stress yourself out.”

“i can’t help it.” simeon replies softly, and if you didn’t know any better you’d say his voice cracked.

he can't stop thinking about your death.

“simeon, look at me.” you say, equally as soft in hopes that he’ll listen.

listen he does.

“i’m not dying. not anytime soon.” you say sternly, cupping his cheek, “my hands might be cold right now, but i promise the rest of me is very much warm.”

after a beat, simeon sighs and shakes his head. he’s smiling. hopes floods into your heart as his expression softens and he leans into you, too.

“yeah. yeah, okay. you’re right.” he hums, twisting his head just far enough to press a worshiping kiss to your hair, “i love you.”

“i love you too.” you whisper, shutting your eyes.
