I've got two family events coming up during term time and I'm trying to decide if the trips are worth the cost by asking if my family is actually going to be attending them and my mum's response was 'I might be able to convince your dad if we know you're going :)' girl I'm not spending nearly £60 just to come down for the weekend only to then find out I'm going by myself
#+Extra#travel tag#one of my cousins has a babyshower coming up in may on a Sunday when i have class on Monday#i already know my mum isnt intending to go to that one and my aunt that lives in between me and them also isnt going so i cant go with them#its the most inconvenient of the two and i have to be home a week after so ive declined that one#but another cousin recently announced an engagement/housing warming party weekend at the end of april#and when my mum told me about it i asked if she was going so i knew whether or not to look into tickets#and she hit me with the 'might go if you do :)' girl im not risking £60 on a maybe especially cus getting there will be a nightmare#its not all the way down south with the rest of my family so its technically closer but if im travelling there i need to know#whether to come early and go all the way home so i can arrive with my family on the day or travel down the day of & get there a little late#in the day in the city where its happening and figure out how to get to the event by myself and sort out getting ready and everything#or like to not bother what so ever and theres no guarantee which day theyll go cus its both Saturday and/or Sunday#ideally id only go Saturday cus i got class first thing monday but i also dont wanna be there by myself#im not close with my cousins and my dad doesnt get along with my mums side of the family so its highly likely id be there by myself#which i absolutely do not want especially if im getting there late cus of relying on public transport#edit: itll cost between £50-£120 to travel o.o depending on how i travel#if i get the train the whole way cus its quicker and times are more convenient itll cost £120 for a return for a 3 hour trip#or i could spend £40ish to get there by train then £10 on an overnight coach back#which is cheaper than the £60ish it would cost to get coaches both ways and the travel times for coaches were ridiculous#but jesus christ 🤦‍♀️

I'm just. I'm really scared about the next couple of years, and especially the elections coming up. You have Republicans ready for a red wave because Roe was overturned and they're all thrilled to get to take away women's rights and institute their hard-core religious beliefs on the rest of us, Democrats who have never been turning up in good numbers to the polls to begin with are beginning to refuse to vote at all, which is the same as voting Republican btw, and then you have apolitical absolute fucking morons like the people who plan on voting for Hershel Walker just because he used to be a football player
I wish it wasn't so expensive to immigrate to a Nordic or Slavic country because. I legitimately am ashamed to live here.

It says a lot about the state of American youth leftist politics that I keep seeing people insisting that Jesus was Palestinian (he wasn't. Rome renamed Judea to Palestine approximately a century after his death) as if that has anything to do with the current situation. Like, they're such culturally Christian privileged children and they can't get a fucking clue about how to be sensible about this. Why is Jesus Christ central to this debate 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️
literally who cares about jesus…christianity is so cringe

“Now the family tree goes like this,” the man on the tape extolled confidently. “John John and…Trump are cousins. And Trump’s uncle is JFK Sr., and Joe Kennedy, who is also not dead…. And Trump’s father is General George Patton, and his brother is Mussolini…”
Somehow, the Kennedys, a family dynasty that once embodied the Democratic Party, had become heroes in a movement that also worshipped Trump. A bizarre blend of American lore, dating back to JFK’s assassination, along with biblical and QAnon-adjacent prophecies, suggested the Kennedys and Trump were direct descendants of Jesus Christ and were the heroic protagonists in an age-old battle of good versus evil.
It’s the kind of conspiracy theory that one might assume manifests only in the dark corners of the internet.
But that changed on November 2, 2021, when hundreds of people from around the country gathered at the infamous grassy knoll in Dallas’ Dealey Plaza, where President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in 1963. The congregation wasn’t there to commemorate the death of the 35th President of the United States. They were there to see what they desperately hoped would be the return of the Kennedys.
“Word on the street is Junior — JFK Jr —will show up and introduce his parents,” one believer told the local WFAA news crew who had rushed to the plaza after hearing reports of a large crowd gathered. Asked what he expected would happen, the man earnestly replied: “He’ll (JFK Jr.) probably be the vice president with Trump.”
The late JFK and his son failed to materialize. Most of the gathered crowd went home and moved on with their lives, some of them disappointed the impossible hadn’t occurred. But others stayed, waiting for months in Dallas for the Kennedys to return.

Of course Anthony Bridgerton’s child needs to have a pram and car seat that matches the colour scheme, of course 🤦‍♀️
Kate is honestly stunned at the fact that Anthony has unveiled himself to be... very particular about the things they're buying for their son.
There they are, standing in the store pinching the bridge of his nose.
"Taupe isn't in our nursery palette, kate."
"I don't think the pram and car seat need to be in the nursery colour, Babe. They won't be in the nursery."
"Oh, so colour schemes just mean nothing to us do they?!"
"Jesus christ!"
