Thinking about how Isaac went from being his friend and starting shit with him to breaking a TV because of his hatred toward him when Jamie really hadn’t even done anything to him and Jamie coming back to Isaac hating him as if they weren’t getting up to the exact same shit together when Jamie was there and if Isaac thought he himself was a way better person now and so was Colin but there was no chance that there could be anything redeemable in Jamie

Thinking about how Jamie left and DIDN’T talk shit about the team or make weird personal comments outside of the ones about Roy and Ted that he would have made to their faces if he was still there

Thinking about the way Nate left of his own volition and talked shit publicly every chance he got

Thinking about how Nate came back trying with everyone letting him that easily when HE was a dick in person too, left them of his own volition, and slandered them and made them a public joke for fun

Thinking about how Jamie got kicked out, DIDN’T talk shit about his friends, had to beg Ted to come back against the whole team’s wishes, and then got iced out by everyone whether it was people with a right to it like Sam or people like Isaac and Colin that had been friends with him and decided to treat him like the worst man alive to distance themselves and make themselves look better by comparison

Thinking about how Jamie think his friendships are all dependent on his spot on the team and he’s seen them disappear when he got kicked out before

Thinking about how Jamie still calls Isaac his best friend after this because he thinks he deserved all of what he got and that he was the one and only problem in that situation and how really we never see Jamie and Isaac as close again as they were in season one and there are plenty of other teammates I would have expected him to say over him

Thinking about Jamie watching Nate come back and forgiving him and knowing what it’s like to be in his place but also Jamie watching everyone else forgive him and care about him as a person that easily again while he had to fight for even Ted to let him come back and had to fight to have people even accept him being on the team again and to get them to acknowledge his existence long before he earned their friendship

They dont have much of a dynamic/chemistry at all despite their long history. So Rins crush seems rather baseless #I dont see how Kabru views her as an older sister... He doesnt really rely on her except for 1 bit in the earlier chapters #Where everyone shows off their skills and what they know about the current situation. But it doesnt really happen again #I dont think a play-by-play of their lives is needed but with their contrasting personalities I was expecting a bit more banter #And since Kabru is so skilled at combat and reading people hed understand Rin's typical fighting style and play off of that. Added my Double drabble to Lights, Camera, Sing Your Sins! I snuck it into chapter 2 so I figured I'd make a quick post with it here :)

“Hey, stop bumping me.”

“You’re bumping me – I can’t see!”

“Just scooch over.”

“My toes!”

Mikoto looked back at the group of prisoners huddled around him, packed tightly so that they could peer over his shoulder at the monitors. His hand paused from where it had been sweeping the stylus around, rearranging his latest creation.

“It’s not that exciting guys,” he laughed. “Let me at least show you some of the finished pieces, I’m sure this is boring…” 

Not that the other pictures were that exciting, either. He pulled up the other frames he’d been busy editing. There came a chorus of oohs and ahhs, but Mikoto knew it was just out of obligation. He flicked through a few of them as quickly as he could.

It was the type of art he loved to do (with some input from Red now and then) but it didn’t really suit any of the other prisoners’ tastes. He’d heard enough questions about his field to know it wasn’t all that impressive to most people. 

Sure enough, Kazui squinted at the screen. “You made all these?” he asked. “Like, you drew them?”

“Er…in a way. I drew some of the elements, and had to do some work to make the effects look right. And the color coordination takes time too.” He scratched the back of his head. “I know it doesn’t look like much…”

When he glanced over, though, Kazui’s expression was one of awe. “No, no, you’re very talented!”

Haruka’s finger tapped the screen. “Can you go back to that one?”

Mikoto clicked back to a photo of himself sitting on one of the train benches. It was meant to depict Red, made abundantly clear by the blood spatter, colored eyes, and savior label that had been placed with much deliberation. Blue had insisted on it, though Red only agreed with the addition of quotations. Their guilty verdict had been crushing for both of them (though not wholly unexpected), so it was important to show all sides of them, now.

Although it had been one of his favorites when working on it, he suddenly wondered if his personal flair had gotten out of hand. It was hardly distinguishable as the original shot, with too many textures and additions obscuring everything.

Fuuta whistled. “Man, that looks sick. You should have done my video…”

“Mine too!” Mahiru said. “I love the bright colors you’re using in all of these. And the paper and ink just looks so crafty!”

Kotoko leaned in to get a better look. “I really like the focus on the eyes here.” 

“O-oh, thanks!” He could feel his chin lift at the commentary. “I got the idea a bit ago… it’s kind of a running thing now? I drew some of them here –” he scrolled though a few frames. “And a scribble over the face here to keep the theme going. Little ones here, a string of them like this. Heh, I drew about a thousand different eye designs to get any actually liked. Then I have these big ones, see? I’m debating on including a blue version, too, but maybe I’m going overboard. I think Jackalope might have a heart attack, seeing all this crap.” 

“He’ll get over it.” Yuno answered his joking smile with a genuine one. “I’m so glad you’re having fun with these. It’s all very… you.”

Mikoto’s gaze fell onto the last frame he’d pulled up: another messy one of Red filled with pink and blue, with the text save you repeated nearby.

“It’s both of us.”

One of my favourite thing about Kamen Rider Build is how they had 2 or 3 episodes (can't remember which) that were clearly meant as recaps, complete with recycled footage, but were framed as the characters themselves polling through past events in search new leads. And it worked.

In one episode they go over all the people that got turned into Smash, only to realise they weren't actually picked at random like it appeared at the time. There was a throughline connecting all of them, which then leads to the question of "what about that one-off guy from episode 1?", which they proceed to explore for the next few episodes.

That is such a cool way to incorporate recaps and it rules every time.

i also personally feel Nahyuta's mental illnesses probably overall started as a child. Dhurke did his best to keep his kiddos happy i'm sure but i can't imagine that there wasn't a lot of trauma involved throughout Yuta's childhood, and no one really would have the education or tools to identify what Nahyuta was struggling with-- not to mention that Yuta strikes me as a deeply Internal person, somebody who doesn't want to talk about himself or show weakness, especially not to his dad, who also does. that exact same thing because of his own trauma n issues. Dhurke would never tell Yuta to keep that stuff to himself, but i think Yuta would get the feeling that he's supposed to just "man up" and deal with it because everyone else (ie, the Dragons, and Dhurke ofc) is tough and just Dealing with the horrible hands dealt their way (though inside everyone's breaking down, they just wanna be strong from the kids or strong for the cause, whatever, but i think when the kids aren't around, everyone is a lot more vulnerable)

not to mention i bet you Yuta's heard Dhurke say some flavor of "i'm a man, men can deal with it" or something to that effect and that stuck with him so, so much.

he wants to be tough. he wants to be good for Dhurke. but he's just hurting himself, and Dhurke is none the wiser, though sometimes the cracks start to show a bit throughout his life.
