𖤐 slowly, he drags her forward inch-by-inch, forcing her to scramble on her hands and knees lest she loses her balance and tips over. embarrassment burns at her face, battled by the chill of the room— she swallows back a cutting remark before it escapes her throat and opts instead for a sarcastic smile, faux-sweetness poisoning her words.

“how very charming. i see now why you’re so greatly loved.”

“not at all, darling,” dottore grins wider, more manic, “but i know you do.”

the floor is cold under her as she kneels, head craned upwards to glare at him.

behind the beaklike mask, dottore smirks. it shields his gaze as red eyes traverse every flicker of her expression. he watches as her hand rises to fidget with something at her neck, her eyes following a path that ends at his own hand.

silence.

he waits.

she sinks back to sit on her ankles, knees starting to grow numb and uncomfortable— but he prevents it when he tugs , her entire body lurching forward indignantly under the sudden movement. his grin only widens, teasing as his head tilts to regard her.

something to say?

“…i know that you wanted to try new things out,” she finally sighs, cheeks flushing slightly in embarrassment, “but was the leash really necessary?”

the doctor looms over her, watching as she swallows, nervous. her throat bobs beneath the leather, a pale, pretty thing. briefly, he thinks about slotting his fingers around it and squeezing.

“it’s fun , no?”

“humiliating, more like,” she murmurs. “what did you want me to do, even. crawl to you? sit up and beg?”

“oho, now you’re giving me ideas,” dottore giggles and she raises a brow, trepidation the faint shadow that veils the twist of her mouth. he takes a slow step back, and normally this would be salvation— only, the leash follows his movement, and the leather strap slowly grows taut, tugging at her.

he seats himself down on the sofa, and her glare intensifies when she finds herself being pulled towards him slightly, defiance making her spine grow rigid and obstinate. dottore pats his thigh as he sprawls, a condescending little motion that makes her blood boil. “go on,” he mocks. “it’s like you said. crawl to me.”

“...”

she can’t see his eyes, but she feels the stare on her practically intensify, searing in the silence. “ no? ”

she presses her lips shut, refusing to say a word— and then he yanks so harshly that she falls forward, hands cushioning her fall before she can tumble face-first into the floor. something like a surprised half-wheeze wrenches itself from a constricting throat, and she bites back curses before she can spit them out.

his remark is met by silence and another tug on the leash, more insistent this time, pulling her forward another few inches. this time, when he finally ceases, she’s positioned between his legs, neck beginning to ache in earnest. a pause hovers in the air between them, and the doctor lapses into thoughtfulness before leather-clad fingers graze her chin, holding her in place.

“stand up,” he intones.

she flashes him a startled little glance, defiance glittering in her eyes.

“you wear your emotions so openly on your face it’s adorable, my dear,” his voice drops, “now stand. ”

to her dismay, when she rises, her knees threaten to collapse from beneath her, stiff from disuse. a moment passes as she wobbles unsteadily, and she thinks she hears him snicker under his breath at her internal struggle. “you’re into some fucked-up things, doctor.”

he laughs, low and raspy, and the sound makes heat bloom against her skin in the wake of it. “you entertain my whims regardless. something tells me you’re not as against the idea as you try to seem.” a hand reaches up, experienced fingers working to remove his mask— within mere moments, a scarred face makes itself known before her and garnet eyes hold her captive.

she’s the one looking down at him now, but something in his piercing gaze has her helplessly pinned in place as a thrill shudders down her spine. the leash dangles uselessly as he places his free hand on her waist, an immovable pressure coaxing her nearer and nearer— though she may hold the higher vantage point, it all boils down to a mere illusion of power, toppled easily by the fingers at her hip.

“cat got your tongue?” he taunts. “i don’t bite.”

his fingers flex, malicious, and she’s knocked off-balance in an instant. by instinct, she reaches out to steady herself— seeking a grip, a saving grace, anything— and she lands wide-eyed on his lap, hands braced against his chest.

without missing a beat, he rearranges her so that she ends up straddling him, legs bracketing his own and hips pressed right into his. at this, her composure cracks, a sharp exhale of air serving as the dead giveaway to her rattled nerves.

“though i could, if you’re this eager.”

sharp teeth gleam, that razorblade edge the last thing she sees before darkness envelopes her vision, a cool touch like metal curving over her skin chased by the warmth of his hand. it takes her a moment to adjust as he slots his mask over her eyes, heightening her other senses all while he mutes one.

“most people just opt for a blindfold,” she snarks.

“i like the way my things look on you,” he remarks flippantly, and she stoically ignores how her cheeks warm.

from where she sits astride him, she can feel him pressing up into her through the layers of fabric that divide them both. a reminder of the current situation at hand— though not an entirely unpleasant one, if she dares to be honest. dottore shifts his hips up teasingly, and her entire spine stiffens, biting down something that sounds suspiciously like a moan.

with her sight dulled, her awareness of everything else increases tenfold. the jolt of excitement that skitters over her nerves leaves her near-breathless, and it sounds out in her voice as she speaks, tone airier than usual.

“s-surely you can’t toy with me forever. you grow predictable, lord harbinger.”

he notices, of course, the leather dangling from her neck picked up once more as he plays with it, twisting it between his fingers. though she’s unable to pinpoint his exact intention, the eyes that she feels boring into her are enough of an insinuation to enlighten her.

finally, the leash grows taut again as she’s pulled down, her face angled blindly towards his. she can’t help but allow her body to relax, melting against him when hot breath ghosts her lips and sends her head spinning.

“do you recall,” he hums dangerously, “what happened to the last person who talked back to me?”

she licks her lips, suddenly nervous. “i do.”

“and the one before them?”

the echo of a bloodstained memory flickers red-hot through her mind. “yes.”

has she crossed the line? surely this is the extent of it for her. even with her, the doctor’s patience is a finicky thing.

“ terrible things happen to those who oppose me,” he comments patronizingly, and the hand on her waist slides up her back, halting at the back of her neck and pressing her down even more. it’s as if her senses submerge themselves in syrup, dazed in her unseeing stupor— he’s irresistible even when menacing, a whisper of fear drowned out by desire.

“but you…”

his lips graze hers and she whimpers, body awash in heat as he purrs, “i quite enjoy your defiance. i wonder why, darling.”

a harsh tug on the leash pulls her into a downward spiral, closing the gap as dottore finally kisses her.

he grins against her mouth, sharp teeth nibbling at her lower lip before he bites , chuckling when she yelps at the taste of metal blooming across her tongue. in the blindness imposed upon her, she's weightless, the only grounding force presenting itself in his body beneath her and his hands on her skin.

she makes a sound of complaint, his hand sliding up to her hair and idling with the strands. “shh,” dottore coos. “sweet girl, just relax .”

“let me see you,” she murmurs, placing her hands on his shoulders as she pushes herself up a little higher, looking sightlessly down at him.

“have patience.”

“ please ,” she repeats stubbornly, “let me see you.” precariously, she balances her weight on one hand, the other rising as she feels around his mask, trying to unfasten it from her face.

dottore hisses in irritation and her hands are ensnared in a flash, leather-clad fingers squeezing the bones of her wrists so tightly that she whimpers in pain.

he wrestles her arms behind her back and holds her like that for a moment. “i don't like repeating myself twice,” he purrs, low and raspy. heat rushes through her so fast that she trembles for a second, a delicious shiver racing up her spine.

dottore leans forward, pressing their bodies together face-to-face. she jerks her arms instinctively, trying to put space between them— his hold remains unmoving, tightening on her until she's arching in his lap, head tipping up slightly.

“lord harbinger, i— mhhf?! ”

he pauses in his ministrations for a moment, lips pressed against the smooth skin of her neck before his teeth sink in harshly. she twitches, accidentally grinding down on him. another gasp spills from her lungs at the pleasure-pain.

dottore smirks. “hmm?”

he bites into the fingertip of a glove and pulls it off, doing the same to the other as he recollects her wrists in a one-handed grasp, leaving her at his mercy.

“i, oh ,” she stifles a cry when cool fingers wander under the fabric clothing her torso. again, she strains against him— to look upon her tormentor, to touch — and again, he denies her, grasp unflinching and lips travelling down and down as she trembles.

dottore unbuttons her shirt, her chest heaving roughly as he laughs, unbridled glee taking on the sound of something darker. the shirt falls open, revealing an expanse of skin beneath that he slides his palm over briefly, the touch burning like wildfire on her oversensitive nerves.

his hand pauses at the waistband of her underwear, fingers hooking into it teasingly. her breathing stutters.

her arms loosen from their position, falling limp at her sides. distantly, she hears the clink of a belt being unbuckled.

“place your hands on my shoulders.”

instantly, she obeys, fingers digging tersely into the fabric of his shirt. the sound of cloth tearing greets her ears as he rips her underwear off in one smooth motion, baring her completely to him. he grinds her down on his lap without penetrating her, slickness coating him easily as she chokes on a whine. “y-you—!”

in the next moment, the mask finally falls from her face, allowing her to bear witness to the condescending smile on his countenance, wicked as he mocks. “m-me?”

scarlet eyes glitter hungrily and he rocks his hips up before she can respond, making her gasp. “you're so unfair ,” she moans, her grasp on his shoulders tightening.

“unfair?” he pulls her in by the leash, piercing gaze boring into hers. “you were the one who wanted to see me as i toyed with you. haven't i been nothing but just ?”

a momentary silence is interrupted by an impatient yank on the leash. dottore's smile sharpens. “shouldn't you thank me? go on, doll , ride me. worship me with your body.”

she holds eye contact for a long, drawn-out moment, and perhaps it's the heat simmering in those scarlet optics that drives her next move— the recognition of her own want mirrored in his gaze and the knowledge of his own desire for her that sparks the dredges of defiance once more.

so she tangles her fingers in his hair and tugs , heedless of the hiss that spills from gritted teeth when she meets resistance. “no,” she mutters, challenge the edge that lines her reply. “i don't worship you. i never will.”

a soft laugh greets her in response, and teeth scrape along her neck. she swallows the whimper that threatens to escape her, and her eyes slide shut.

“say that again,” dottore hisses.

she twitches as his voice skitters over heated skin, lips a prayer at her throat— and forces herself into stillness. “tell me again that you don't worship me.” the drag of teeth slides razor-sharp, enough to make her choke on a breath, and she feels his lips curve against her in a wicked smile, a stark contrast painted against his false patience.

“i don't.”

fingers trap her chin, squeezing her face harshly.

“you will.”

and god , she's loath to admit it, but when he claims her mouth again, all cruelty and teeth— when her blood stains his lips in a blasphemous kiss— she will not admit it — but it's his name and no other that she gasps out.

and he doesn't let her go, drunk on her as if she's the last breath he'll ever take. her lashes flutter hazily and she catches glimpses of a blood-red stare between blinks, even as her oxygen dwindles and the fervour between them rises.

“lord harbinger,” she tries to say, cut off by his tongue when he licks into her mouth, hot and overwhelming. “lord harbinger!”

she tugs at his hair, begging for a lungful of oxygen— but the groan he exhales into her mouth tells tale of the opposite effect intended and he pulls her even closer to him, a pleased rumble spreading into his chest.

“sir— dottore!”

desperately, she yanks harder at his hair, finally wrenching his head back and cutting the kiss off. she inhales, breath rising and falling as she stares at him, wide-eyed and lips swollen.

the doctor, on the other hand, looks smug, the fingers at her chin adjusting. he presses a thumb into her mouth, keeping it open. “ooh , did i get too carried away?”

“ yes ,” she gasps, forgetting to sound irritated.

something sly sparks in his gaze as she eyes him down. dottore cants his hips before she can react, sliding completely into her within the next moment. he fills her so completely it's sinful , the stretch making her jaw slacken and arousal pool in her core.

“y-you bastard ,” she stutters, helplessly squirming on him.

dottore cackles at her expression. “caught your breath yet?”

“no, wait— aah ,” she whimpers as he shifts, setting her nerves on fire again.

the fingers in her mouth prod harder, pressing down on her tongue. “oh, that's right,” dottore remarks casually, ignoring her, “what was that you said earlier?”

her response comes out garbled. “that i'd never worship you.”

“no, not that, darling.” he hums, feigning thoughtfulness, “ aha , i've got it. if i recall correctly…”

the realization dawns on her when he snaps his fingers.

“you called me sir . i quite liked that, see,” he explains. “do you think you could do that again?”

she blinks stubbornly. “dream on.”

“ aww , i promise you'd like it,” he singsongs. his hands fall to her hips, caressing the soft skin.

“i will not, lord harbinger. ”

she's not sure what the devil himself looks like, but this must be it— his grin shifts from charming to sly, manic as he lifts her up and slams her down on him, surging forward to swallow down the cry that forces its way from her lips.

he breaks the kiss and fucks up into her, watching as her eyes flutter and her lips part in pleasure.

“darling, we'll just have to find out, won't we?”

overwatch ratings based on how they would date

did this a while ago but spent too much time on it for it to not be posted. this is just a personal opinion and personal ratings based off lore and bias tbh. this will be updated with every hero (if I remember to lol)

Tanks:

D.VA: 6/10. Caring and loving, fun gaming dates, but gets recognized a lot, and if it came down to it she’d choose her job to protect south korea over her lover

Doomfist: 4/10. He’d be a gentleman but probably only in it for sex or to be a sugar daddy. He’d treat his “lover” with respect tho so not a total loss i guess.

Junker Queen: 7/10. After the shit she’s been thru i think she doesnt really want a partner cuz shes afraid they’re just using her to get to the throne or that she’ll lose them. She’s protective and caring but also a bit overprotective to the point where it’s like okay calm down. Also might get into a few fights but eh.

Orisa: 0/10. she thinks it would be cute to be in a relationship but knows she cant be in one due to being the “protector of numbani”. so no.

Ramattra: 8/10. Deadass depends if it’s an omnic or not. If his lover is an omnic he will cherish them and take care of them, knowing that they’re one of the few things he loves in this life. If it’s a human then theres some. Problems. He doesnt open up easily and while he’s still protective and caring he can sometimes get very distant towards them because he fears that they only got close to him to use him or kill him.

Reinhardt: 9/10: Perfect gentleman. Treats you with respect and love, and cherishes you no matter what. -1 is because he can be really loud sometimes even when he doesnt mean to be

Roadhog: 5/10. I think of him as aroace but he would try and give it a shot just to feel what it’s like. Hes very quiet but also very calm. He would listen to his lover and do his best to help them, but he moves around a lot thanks to junkrat now and might cut off communication with you just to keep you safe when he's on the run

Sigma: 5/10. A real gentleman, would treat his lover with respect and kindness and love. Only downside is when he has one of his mind breaks and breakdowns. He forgets who he is and just focuses on violence. Also his control of gravity in that state is very fucky so if he’s having a breakdown his lover might get throw to the ground. He feels like jackshit afterwards and probably realizes it’s best not to have someone he cares about so close to him

Wrecking Ball: 0/10 no. he would simply not even if he wanted to. Aroace hampter

Winston: maybe a 1/10. i feel like he doesnt want a romantic relationship with anybody and just wants friends (aroace monke)

Zarya: 6/10. Protective and caring but would focus too much on her job. would also pick her country over her lover if it did come down to it

Mauga: 8/10: Would treat his lover right and give them anything they asked for. Free beach house, gifts, and a loving, protective, obsessive bf. -2 because slight yandere vibes and can get too possesive-

Damage:

Ashe: 6/10. Partners in crime kinda thing but if you’re not really into that stuff she’s probably not that into you. She has BOB watching you when she cant during a fight but shes always next to you when she can be.

Bastion: 0/10. Dude just wants to live in the woods with his bird he doesnt want that stuff.

Cassidy: 8/10. Southern sweetheart. Treats his partner with love and respect. Only downside is that he’d be out a lot doing his job, but he would let somebody else do it to be with you if it’s a special occasion or if he really wants to stay with you.

Echo: 2/10. Not big on romance but would try it out for science. Sadly in the end it’s not real love so. Oof

Genji: 9/10. Probably doesn’t want a relationship at first because of his body but he gets used to it and opens up his heart. Honestly very good boyfriend would be there to listen and help you with stuff. -1 cuz he might be out doing overwatch stuff a lot and also might not be the most exciting person to be around if you're a hyper person.

Hanzo: 6/10. Can’t see him getting in a relationship after everything thats happened but if he did he’d be kinda bad at it but you could tell that he’s trying his best.

Junkrat: 5/10. I love him but i cant really see him *staying* in a relationship for long. He doesn’t know how to stop sometimes and can get really annoying really quick but he loves making things for his lover and would do his best to keep them away from the dangerous bombs. He loves them a lot but doesn’t know how to turn the love down. Really clingy so if youre into that cool.

Mei: 9/10. Absolute sweetheart. Loves you to bits and takes you out to her favorite restaurants and stuff. -1 cuz you had to have a long distance relationship due to her being in Antarctica and the fact she slept for years with no communication with her lover-

Phara: 4/10. Cares about her job more but would be an okay girlfriend, doing the basics.

Reaper: 1/10. He’s done with love and would probably just just be a sugar daddy or just be there for sex. Even if he did find himself feeling something he’d ignore it and move on

Sojourn:5/10. Not interested in dating or finding love but if it finds her she’ll go for it. Pretty nice girlfriend, makes sure to take care of her lover but does focus on her job a lot more sometimes.

Soldier:76: 0/10. Not interested and has made sure to break off any past relationships. Doesn’t want the people he cares about to get hurt. So he still cares but doesnt go see them.

Somba: 7/10. Would be a pretty good girlfriend if she wanted to have a relationship. She keeps all people she cares about far away and unaware of her deeds at Talon. So a long distance relationship until she can take some time off to go see her lover and vibe.

Symmetra: 3/10. Doesn’t know how to even start a relationship and doesn’t really want to. Her job is important to her so she wouldn’t want distractions from it.

Torbjorn: 6/10. His wife and him had a few children and have been married for a while so he’s probably got the whole love thing covered.

Tracer: 9/10. Probably one of the best on this list. She’s loving and caring and makes sure to spend a lot of time with her partner.

Widowmaker: 3/10. Last partner she had was um. killed by her so. +3 if you could break down her walls and see the real her but very low chance

Venture: 8.5/10: Would talk to you about rocks, fossils, and everything else they can think about. They’d even let you name rocks around the house. -2 cuz they’ll talk your ear off about rocks n stuff while also bouncing around everywhere. They can also be gone for long periods of time but always makes sure to call. If you can deal with the infodumping and adhd then 9.5/10 for you

Support:

Ana: 5/10. She doesn’t want a relationship but she’d be very loving and caring to her lover.

Baptiste: 8/10. Great boyfriend, lovers needs always come first and he’s very open and always has an ear out to listen. -2 because he’s constantly on the run and the relationship could get stressed.

Brigitte: 5/10. Mostly focused on her work but would make a pretty good girlfriend if she finds the right person. The relationship would mostly be a test one because she lowkey doesn’t understand it.

Kiriko: 4/10. Would love to be in a relationship but protecting her home is more important than finding love to her.

Lucio: 9/10. Actual sweetheart. Would make music for you and would cancel shows last second if something came up and you needed something. If you need anything he’ll be there to help.

Moira: 0/10. Not looking for a relationship and would probably lie just to get you strapped to a table and butchered.

The Witch King

This is not like, a coherent review or anything.

Yesterday I was just like possessed with anxiety nonstop the whole day and everything I did seemed to make it worse and i just like spun my wheels and I got some things done but mostly felt worse and worse and more and more stressed, due partly to external circumstances but largely, i think, to nothing in particular. And finally after dinner I was sitting on the couch comfortably and realized you know what, fuck it, I am not going to "try to write" and wind up refreshing tumblr and chatting on discord all night, not while I'm already fretting and stewing like this, i'm going to be miserable and probably get in a fight or something and i don't want that. Fuck it. So I went to the tab I already had open in my browser, which I'd had open for weeks but the time was never right, and I bought the kindle version of Witch King and read it right there in my browser, the whole way through, did not click away or put it down or move or do anything else, and you know what it was fantastic.

I'd read a preview and been like hm i don't know what this is about and read a couple of amazon reviews that were like this was really confusing, some of which concluded so i didn't like it and some of which concluded so i super liked it, and like, I've been a fan of Martha Wells since she put the Element of Fire up for free chapter by chapter on her Livejournal when the rights reverted to her in like 2006 or so, so I knew what I was going to get and also knew that I would not particularly know exactly what I was going to get until I got it, and I also knew I was going to enjoy the ride, but I hadn't wanted to read it in stolen or exhausted moments lest the "this is confusing" bits prove too much.

In the end I found it not in the slightest bit confusing, it was a very straightforward interspersed flashbacks storytelling technique that i thought suited the story beautifully (not to be spoilery but we join a character in medias res with an action scene and it's him trying to figure out who has betrayed him in a complicated political scenario, and in the process of unspooling this he has to revisit the site of where the complicated political scenario was first set up, some sixty (?) years earlier, so he's retracing his own steps and it's really well done I think, introducing new bits of history right as they're relevant to the current storyline-- and just fantastically done, not at all forced, completely natural and compelling, and no the reader isn't told anything they don't need to know but you do get everthing you need to know, there's no unneccessary coyness at all).

So anyway i loved that, and I hope there's a sequel planned but it stands alone just fine if not, I'm already figuring i'll alternate my rereads and do every other chapter each time, so I can do All The Backstory first, then All The Current Timeline story, and that's such a fun way to eke out many many many rereads of a story that like all of Wells' works I will reread until I have chunks of them memorized (anyone who has read my works surely has found whole undigested bits of hers bobbing around in there because I do this so much; I found the phrase weary past bearing in something of mine the other day and was like oh that's moon when ember first shows up i stole that whole emotion wholesale out of the third raksura book yes i did).

Little side notes: Love the aroace qpr vibes with Kai and Zeide, also sort of enjoy the lowkey genderfuckery that comes with a demon who has his own gender then inhabiting bodies that had different genders. Great magic system too, and I love that we first get introduced to how Kai's pain magic works as a like totally fait accompli chunk of didactic worldbuilding and then in a later chapter we get to see the flashback of him inventing it and understand why it works the way it does, that was also so well-wrapped-up.

Anyway-- Definitely recommend this one but probably it is best if you can do it like I did, in one big binge-read. It took me probably three hours and I was trying hard not to read it too fast.

Yeah. Anyway. People assume I'm a big reader. I was, as a kid. I am not now. This is the first new book I've read since probably the spring sometime. I don't casually read things i only read them if I'm going to add them to my Pantheon of Rereads, and that goes for fic too mostly.

ALARMINGLY relatable. i love her flat affect. i love her observational skills- she's clever, and perceptive. i may or may not have an enormous crush on her. i love her loyalty and devotion. i love (read: hate) her tendency to deflect any and all important personal questions. i love that she doesn't let go. i love her love for spreadsheets and sharp knives and sensible shoes and sketching. i love her impeccable bedside manner. i love her and her letters and her cassette tapes and her fuckass bob and her smile that makes the earth want to marry her and i love her slate-clay eyes and her laugh. i love that she fought like her heart had already exploded.

least favorite thing about them: i mean, with camilla this question is really more of a "most concerning things about them," isn't it? her codependency, her lack of individuation and independence, her refusal to develop her own identity and exist as her own person. which, like, from one autistic bitch to another, girl i Get It. if i could get away with making myself a satellite accessory to another person instead of having to figure out how to be a person myself, if my society had groomed me to do exactly that from birth, yeah, i would probably do the same thing. being a person is fucking exhausting. but it's also so, so worth it, and it breaks my fucking heart that cam never had the chance, and that the people in her life by and large never encouraged her to really try. we do see pal pushing her on it a little here and there from time to time, and i appreciate that, but it was clearly never enough to stick, y'know? i hate how self sacrificing and selfless she is, i wish fandom at large would talk more about her depression, i want to give her wellbutrin and a hug and therapy.

favorite line: too many to choose. life is too short and love is too long. i don't let go, it's my one thing. sure, it's a nice handkerchief. i think there's another teaspoon full of blood in here somewhere. camilla hect fought like a grease fire. the cohort has taken the rest of him away and i don't know where they've put him.

I really admire the way you write bg3 charas and I was curious about your opinion- what you think about the polyamory options in the game? iirc Shadowheart and Astarion are open to it- Shadowheart at least is enthusiastic about poly with Halsin and a four/fivesome with the drows at Sharess’s Caress, I’ve seen mixed interpretations of Astarion’s reactions. Karlach I think? Says she’s open to it but due to circumstance wants a closed relationship. (Halsin ofc is very openly poly.)

Okay, just to be clear, poly isn't having threesomes and vice versa, so I don't think we should use their willingness to have the orgy in Sharess's Caress as a frame of reference. Because the drow twins are two strangers and not people they're in a poly relationship with.

Poly relationships don't require having sex. They're like any other relationship, just with more people. AroAce people can be poly too.

Also, I think the reason we don't have poly ingame besides Halsin, which was a last edition, is because Larian ran out of time and budget. They'd have to make whole new scenes with whole new dialogue trees and animations.

And keep in mind that they're characters, just tools and dolls. Not real people. You can headcanon them all as poly, and it's valid.

Anyway, so here is my opinion who is and who isn't poly ingame.

There are monogamous exlusive characters who make it very clear they don't want poly: Gale, Minthara and maybe Lae'zel

There are some who show being poly but can't due to circumstances and the current options of people: Shadowheart, Karlach, and Astarion.

Side note, I really don't believe that theory going around about how Astarion was only willing to be poly with Halsin because "high elves don't take relationships with wood elves seriously". Maybe if this was dos2 then sure, but Larian really removed most of these things in Baldur's Gate 3.

It feels like cherry-picking. If we are going with this old representation of high elves, then based on that, he'd never be with any non-high elf Tav, not even human. Astarion agreed to share with Halsin because he is clearly comfortable with him. It feels belittling and insulting to both of their queerness to even consider this theory. Especially with how his past lover was a whole drow, you really think a high elf who is racist against wood elves would consider loving a drow if this was the case?

This leaves Wyll, which... honestly, I'm not sure how to categorise him.

Wyll is selfless. He always assumes you're going to choose the other person in Act 2 and bids you farewell, saying how the dance you shared will be a nice memory.

He focuses on his love for you, not owning you, not being possessive, but genuine overflowing love and poems. I think Wyll might be open to being poly but not just with anyone, it would have to be someone he loves as deeply as you.

Spooky Month LGBTQIA+ Headcanons

I'm bored as fuck... (I probably won’t use these headcanons in any of my fics.)

Streber is trans. You can't tell me otherwise. He uses he/him pronouns and is bi.

Kevin is gay with he/they pronouns.

Lila is bi but more leaning towards women. She uses she/they pronouns.

Jaune doesn't have a preference, basically pan. She uses she/her.

Bob doesn't care either way. Probably he/him or he/it.

Roy is bi (male leaning) with he/him pronouns.

Ross is a trans demiboy and gay and uses any pronouns.

Robert is pan and uses he/him.

Skid would probably be aroace with they/it pronouns.

Pump would be a straight ally with he/him pronouns

I don't think skid and pump would know much about the lgbtq community, they're about 8 so those are basically headcanons for when they are older.

Edit: Some people were saying that Kevin is canonically pan which I didn’t know, I just wanted to say I’m really sorry in advance for that I didn’t mean to offend anyone if I did and I apologize again for that, it was honestly just a random headcanon I didn’t think it would cause any harm but I guess I did and I’m really sorry

gaww I'm happy to hear! gosh headcanons are so hard for me, apologies in advance that this is all over the place!!

hmm since it's pride, for fun I'd say Susan & Link are bi, Doc is a transman & aromantic or gay, Bob is nonbinary & pan ace

Coverton is either gay or demi aroace, Sqweep is a nonbinary (trans?)girl & ace lesbian, Sta'abi is pan demisexual, although I'm never set on labeling them but that's my idea!

oh and Gallaxhar is ace, Derek is bi (probably closeted)

‌the monster agents have their own private island where they live work free, nicknamed "Monster Beach"

Susan, ‌Doc, Link, & Bob have separate living spaces, but they share the same (beach) house. There are 3 floors and 1 ground floor, which extends to Susan's area that is the majority of the entire building. There's a lab/garage for Doc's projects just off the main residence, but the real works are at Area 5X. ‌Butterfly sleeps in a cavern of the cove behind a waterfall curtain.

‌Link has a driving license, a piloting licence, and a fishing licence and soon a licence to kill yes he has a car it's his 2nd baby

Link deserves a stuffed animal collection I think, but of course, his no. 1 will always be the rabbit, and they're all grouped on his heating pad rock thing

‌Susan video calls her parents weekly, tries to visit at least once a month but its more of whenever she can

‌Doc & Megamind are buddies. Although when the agents first met Megs it was a monsters vs alien situation (or monsters vs megamind hehe)

‌Doc's cockroach research contributed to the development of adding longevity to the average human which explains why Monger can be 90 and look like that, a less mad science former partner of his is responsible for this

‌there's an international Antarctic base that holds alien tech from around the globe (or at least what isn't "important" in each country's respective secret governments), these are mostly big and useless other than for study, an alien junkyard really

‌not sure how this would happen but I like the idea of Derek occasionally covering live news of the agents at work so a running gag is him getting splashed, slimed, dusted, swarmed, and such

Derek must have majored in meteorology, so there has to be something there. it's a special interest in weather and environmental sciences, but he'd avoid ever being called a nerd so it isn't that well known. he also had a hobby in photography, then wanted to be in front of the camera instead

‌MVA takes place in the same universe as Megamind, The Croods, How To Train Your Dragon, Rise Of The Guardians, Home, and Abominable (Shrek is canonically fictional, so dreamworksception? implying live action Shrek actually)

‌Link's species, the "aquappe", are not directly related to homo sapiens, but one of the cousin's ancestors (homo erectus?). I like to think their species evolutionary process was very back and forth (like a whale), but eventually became modern day mermaids. Like apes and whales they sing, but Link's adjustment to speaking might have affected his vocal cords. He still likes to sing, just shy about it like in the karaoke music party.

‌Link's first language is sign, which he learnt from Monger and few others, he learned proper English from Doc & TV

‌Bob also learned from TV, and Monger talked to him a lot

Bob's consumption/absorption of any material helps him regulate his mass. He floats on saltwater but will eventually break down after a very long period of time.

‌Monger has back scars from asserting his dominance over Link, an accidental acid burn from feeding Bob, and a matching chemical burn with Doc after he showed off one of his inventions

before Area 5X, Monger hunted monsters under an alias, although he was unsuccessful because it turned into a monster romance on at least 2 separate occasions

and I had another post about why I don't like the tonal shift between ep.9 and ep. 10 of bob but I can't find it so I'll get back to you on that!!

10. worst part of fanon

because fanfiction is the medium in which I interact the most with fandom, the ills of it are the ones I encounter the most. some of ya'll don't know proper characterization if it bit you in the ass. it's like. did we even watch the same show? each one has 10 episodes each!! how could you POSSIBLY get any of this wrong????

sometimes, you read a fic, and already you can tell the author has an agenda just by how terribly wrong a fic is. they villainize random boys so much to make others look better. the amount of times I go "he would NOT say that!" is infinity.

ensemble fics with stupid grp of friends level shenanigans. exploration of platonic relationships fics (though there are a few of these already that I really like, I want more). queer platonic relationships. POC OCs; asexual, aromantic, lesbian, and trans OCs. there are a few already that I very much like, I know this. I have a trans OC myself. idc. I want more.

.......... honestly sometimes I get the feeling that some hbo war writers are afraid to make aroace OCs, trans OCs or POC OCs bc they themselves are cis, allosexual/alloromantic, or white and therefore they might get it wrong. to which I say banish the thought and EXPLORE, damnit.

also like. let's trans some genders. I've said this before. but I think. we should be allowed!! to trans some dead american soldier's genders. more transmasc paratroopers!! more transmasc marines!! c'mon now.

LGBT HEADCANONS FOR SPOOKY MONTH BECAUSE WHY NOT

Skid and Pump: I don't think they'd discover what they were right now since they're still kids and probably don't even know that stuff like that has labels yet. But I could see them having labels whenever they grow up. Like, maybe Skid would identify as bisexual in the future when he came to understand that that had a label. And maybe Pump would either be gay or aroace(or maybe both) when he came to understand that those were labels too. I'm not sure what pronouns they'd use in the future. But for some reason I've also always liked the idea of transfem Pump? Not sure why. I think it's because I headcanon Kevin being trans ftm so he'd kinda understand Pumps experience if Pump ever accidentally blurted out something. Maybe when either of them grew up, Skid would use he/him pronouns still, but maybe Pump would like using both she/her and he/him?

Hatzgang: Roy.. eh, I'm not sure, but he's definitely not cis, most likely either transfem or transmasc. He's also probably bisexual too, but maybe also aroace or just aro? Depending on what pronouns Roy used though, I think he'd either use just he/him or she/her. Not too sure. Ross is probably agender and is probably bisexual or aroace like Roy. Ross also probably uses any pronouns, or just uses he/they. And Robert is probably pansexual—not too sure what gender he'd be, but maybe transfem or nonbinary or even transmasc. As for what pronouns they would use, maybe he/they? Or even any pronouns?

Kevin: Trans ftm and pansexual(already canon I think anyway, the pan part I mean). That's kind of it. He also uses he/him.

Streber: Most likely nonbinary and uses he/they, but is also bisexual(with a male preference) and poly(mostly influenced by what their va said).

Ethan: Bisexual because that's canon. I think he'd probably be cisgender, but he'd use he/him.

Lila: Transfem and uses she/her. Bisexual with a male preference.

Jaune: Pansexual, and a cisgender female. Uses she/her.

Radford: Not too sure, but maybe they use he/they pronouns. Not too sure what his sexuality would be, but maybe aroace or bisexual.

Rick: I don't know what his sexuality could be. But I see him being a cisgender man with he/him pronouns.

Susie: I don't exactly know. But I could see her using she/her or she/they. I could even see her being a lesbian or at the very least bisexual with a heavy preference in women.

Bob: ..eh, straight and cis? But he's an ally. Or maybe he's aroace. He doesn't care what gender and sexuality you are. Y o u a l l t a s t e t h e s a m e a n y w a y. /j

Jack: Bisexual? Or gay maybe. Probably a cisgender male with he/him pronouns.

John: Bisexual, cisgender male with he/him pronouns.

Patty: She's definitely a lesbian. She's probably a cisgender woman who uses she/her, or maybe she's transfem idk.

Skids dad: Transmasc/Trans ftm. Not sure what his sexuality would be, but definitely interested in women.

Ross's dad: I don't even know man we haven't seen him yet 😭

Dexter: Nonbinary, he/they pronouns. Either aroace or pansexual. Maybe even gay possibly. I'm not too sure on what sexuality they'd have, but I'm definitely sure he'd be nonbinary.

Carmen: Either a cisgender woman, or transfem. She's probably bisexual with a female preference.

Richard: Cisgender man, or transmasc. Not sure what his sexuality is, but definitely not straight.

These are just kinda my headcanons for now. But I still really like the idea of Pump being transfem. Maybe like as an au or something because I just really like the idea of the adult characters I headcanon as trans helping them out with their identity and shit. Besides, it would kinda help me cope with my mom being a little nonaccepting right now. I like projecting onto younger characters since it kinda also helps me cope with no adults being around to help me with what I need most right now. 😭 /lh
