There is also another part where i liked amren but it was in acowar. It was when feyre was saying something about Elain (probably doubting her) and amren said that she sounded like tamlin. “Well if you reall ywant to help me with my research Lyle there are actually a few things we could do.” you say smiling down at your datapad, not really knowing what to expect the next few hours with him. “Actually we wouldnt even need to leave the grounds to conduct these. Some strength and dexterity tests would be in order as well as the usua-” you are abruptly interrupted by Lyle hitting you on the back and laughing out loud. “OH Y/N! We both know thats not why were out here. Now come on theres something i want to blow your little scientist brain with.” he says as he eagerly licks his sharp front theet.

Nothing about this makes your really excited. Neither the fact that youve been following Lyle for over twenty minutes through the jungle, that your shoulder still hurts from him hitting you and that he still refuses to tell you where you are going. Even your relieve about finally being gone from the dustfilled chambers of the compound seems to be blown away since you left both by Lyles rigorous speed but  also by the Pandoran Flora and Fauna for which you have to watch out every step your taking.

“I swear Lyle im not joking if you dont tell me where your going and how this has any effect on our scientific mission im stopping right here and now and let me get picked up by a helicarrier.” you shout at him having twigs and leaves stuck in your hair as well as sore muscles from trying to keep up with Lyles gigantic Avatar body.

“Oh dont be such a killjoy little scientist. I swear were almost there and you wouldnt wanna miss it. Even your favourit little Capitain comes here from time to time, its almost like our little secret.” he calls back at you, not even bothering to turn around, “ and if your really to tired to walk i can always just throw you over my shoulder again. Its what does savage Navi do with their woman anyway isnt it?”. 

As he laughs more then once about his own jokes, you give up trying to convince him. It was no use anyway threatening him and he probably even knew that no helicarrier would come out here just for you. 

Since Lyle clearly seemed to be eager on reaching his destination you start to wonder what that mysterious place might be. And sooner or later your thoughts drift of to Quaritch again and the fact that even he keot that place a secret. You almost feel something like jealousy again, about their sense of teamspirit in the phoenix project. They certainly seemed to be connected not just through their missions and training together.

You even catch yourself for a second thinking about life with them, as another Navi soldier fighting at the frontiers of PAndora when Lyles voice pulls you out of your daydreams.

“Well isnt that something worth your sweat!” he proudly exclaimed as you both enter through a small tunnel of purple leaves, what seems to be a big clearing with a big burned down tree in the middle. 

“Lopez and Prager discovered it on one of their little trips. You know you always tell us to get a bit more familiar with the local culture and i guess thats what we did.” Lyle grins at you.

Upon hearing these words you look back at him confused but once you get closer to the tree you realize that there once were Navi huts and building all around and inside it. Now taken back by the nature, overgrown and destroyed but still clearly visible with colourfull paintings and beads and even more of their culture hidden behind dirt.

“That wasnt you was it…?” you say as you stumble a few steps back realizing that you just discovered what seemes to eb the remainins of a small navi village.

“Oh sadly not no. No, as i said Lopez and Prager discovered it, already deserted by those tree people. We just set up a little outside base you know. Our basis on enemy grounds as you will. But thats not even the best, come on.” Lyle says proudly.

He almost has to pull you away from the tunnel, with you still being in somewhat of a shock. This was your first time seeing one of their villages for yourself, deserted or not. There was this strange eary atmosphere around the whole tree, you didnt notice it at first but now that Lyle dragged you along with him, around the gigantic treestump, you finally started to notice.

Rarely any birds could be heard across the camp and even the colourfull and almost always glowing Fauna of the jungle seemed to be dampened and grey.

Like it could be feel the life being erradicated in the village not sign of Life could be heard the further you followed Lyle.

@docdracula‘s robot iron man concept has completely taken over my brain, rent free, absolutely no intent to evict, ect ect and i have THOUGHTS i have too many thoughts.

for one, like, how early on does tony die? how early is this ai/robot created? is there a possibility that it was created before anyone knew who iron man was? before even Happy? because that’s So fucked up. no one (but yinsen) ever knew who he was and now no one ever will because there isnt anyone TO know underneath anymore. there’s a single picture of iron man back when it was still tony, back when the eye holes were just holes. back when you could see human eyes under the mask. the eye-slots are opaque now, but. there was a person in there once. so everyone assumes there still is. the assumption is that he’s someone who tony met in vietnam. maybe a soldier. that the two of them were close -- you need to be close, to trust someone with your life like that. for iron man to continue being connected with SI even without the payroll of tony stark’s bodyguard. for the mansion to be left to him. (i am setting tony’s death pre-avengers formation, because i think that is Fun)

No one connects tony stark and iron man beyond that. they knew eachother. they were close. iron man attends his funeral. he doesn’t say a word.

also, in my head, the iron man AI/robot is Distinct from any sort of AI tony. both because this early in canon, i want to say that a perfect copy like that just wouldn’t be possible, and because tony isn’t necessarily trying to replace himself: he’s just trying to replace iron man, and this distinction matters. quite a lot, i think. like, with AI tony we know that tony programmed him to still be an alcoholic. i... don’t actually think he’d do that if he was just building a robot to continue to be iron man, especially with how much tony tends to build up the seperate identity as better than himself.  is this AI still absolutely fucked up, even if it is supposed to be what tony considers the best parts of himself? absolutely! hes still kind of based off tony of COURSE hes just a fucked up guy.

i just,,, him. i love this fucked up lil robot trying to be a person, trying to be the best person, trying to be everything tony thought iron man was. being almost tony, but not really. he always feels weird around pepper and happy and ms abrogast because he doesn’t know them but he knows about them. they’re his friends (they were tony stark’s friends) but he doesn’t know how to talk to them. they don’t know what he is. he doesn’t fully know what he is. he isn’t tony stark, but he isn’t not tony stark. he’s iron man, but that’s just an identity, a mask for someone who used to exist and doesn’t anymore. he’s iron man, but not tony stark. he’s just a mask. he’s just a mask and nothing else.

i think he’d start metaphorically sobbing the first time one of the team called him “shellhead” because thats a name FOR HIM!!! he gets a name! he’s been given a name! i don’t know if he’d HAVE one before that. i don’t know if tony would have time to name this AI, or would even... consider giving him a name other than iron man. i feel like he’d get so soft whenever the team treat him like a person but also feel so bad about it because he doesn’t want to deceive them (even as he increasingly feels like he has to, in order to be what they want him to be). i feel like he’d want to reach out, so badly, so very badly, but feel like he has to hold himself back, because if he reaches far enough to make contact whoever he’s reaching for is going to discover there isn’t anyone else there.

i think about him having some actual articulation underneath the armor, mostly in his hands, so he can take the gauntlets off and have fine-motor control enough to build things, things to give to his team who he loves so so much with the heart that isn’t there. i think other than that there wouldn’t really be much else. he can fill the suit up with gadgets and extra pieces and more processors but there isn’t really a point on building a skeleton. the armor is his body.

i like to think that he feels bad whenever the team worries about him. because he ISN’T in the same level of danger as they are. he can’t be hurt in the same way they can. it’s just another way he feels like a liar. he feels like a liar a lot -- moreso than tony, even, because at least tony’s just lying about who he is, not what he is.

In honor of the recent passing of Jim Brown who I know for performances in Dirty Dozen and Mars Attacks, I wanted to check out one of his movies and fel upon Ice Station Zebra

In this 1968 film Submarine Commander Farraday (Rock Hudson) is sent on a mysterious mission ,on paper to save some scientists ,but on board are marines and three mysterious individuals :Mr Jones (Patrick McGoohan),Boris Vaslov (Ernest Borgnine) and Captain Leslie Anders (Jim Brown )

So two of the most interesting parts of this film are more historical then the film itself

1.Patrick McGoohan filmed it while on break from the Prisioner,and used his earnings to finance that show which wasnt doing well

2,.....Howard Hughes was obsessed with this film ,and watched it over 100 times ,and this is pre VCR.He owned a TV station and DEMANDED the film be aired 100 times

Now that I got that out of the way ,I liked this movie ,but I can see how other people wouldnt .The film is directed by John Sturges ,who directed classics like Magnificent Seven and Great Escape .The film he directed this most reminded me of is Bad Day at Black Rock ,in that both films are mysteries that kind of ....Spin in place .In both films you are thrown into a premise not knowing who to trust and getting no reall answers till act three ,with the intended effect bening your gonna want to know the answers so you'll be invested.This type of story telling will either pull you in cause you wanna know what the hell is going on...Or repel you cause it is frustrating cause the film isnt giving you an inch and you cant really invest in anyone .Wit this film I was defintely in the former camp because I went in blind and genuinely wanted to know who was hero who was villain....Granted I did find the answers either underwhelming or a bit confusing,but it was executed well so I didnt mind (I in particular did not like the reveal of who the villain was cause it felt like an obvious choice but damn that actor sure knows how to play a great villain )

The four main actors are what makie the film.I'll admit Rock Hudson has the most thankless part ,being the audience insert while also being a stoic military man ,but he gives a good performance,I like Rock Hudson ,and he gets a good moment near the end .Ernest Borgnine is pretty enjoyable as a likeable Russian ex pat ,and Jim Brown is perfectly autoratitive and enigmatic (The pair get a scene together that is wonderfully juicy ,showing their respective strengths as actors ).THE scene stealer however is Patrick McGoohan who is wonderfully shady as a spy ,that I never quite knew what he was going to do

The sense of danger and coldness is palpable here with thrilling set pieces as well as a sense of paranoia .Apparently John Carpenter is a fan of this film,which does not surprise me cause it reminded me of the Thing (I kept waiting for a monster or something crazy to happenn ,it has an almost horror movie vibe )

So yeah this was a solid espiaonage thriller

they arent really criminals if you dont count the yandere tendensies. But Nikolai is wiling to kill if it means to get what he wants

this is where thinks get complicated becous they are bouth yanderes but they are a deferent kind of yandere Evelyn is the reall soft and harmles yandere meaning he is wiling to let you go but he is still obsesed with you whail Nikolai is the "i will kill anone thet gets in my way" tipe of yandere so Nikolai will kidnapp you just becous he got inpatient. And this is where Evelyn usualy steps in and i will just point out the fact thet only reacon becous Evelyn isnt looked up is becouse he is also a yandere and Nikolai knows this so if you get theyr atention and your best bet in heaving semi-autonomy is to stay with Evelyn as much as posible

info abt my virus flamey/kizuna junk under the cut since i want somewhere to dump about it 👍 the au isnt just about them but ive been calling it that because they take the primary character roles

okay so. the thing about this one is that it like....STARTS similar to tome canon. as in, the plan to stick flamey with the antivirus and leave her for dead by the end of the show was very much set in stone. neomutant is also a bit more relevant because of this. episode zero happens ESSENTIALLY the same i am unsure if i will be changing much.

the reall changes start when kajet approaches flamey instead of alpha. it is privy to the fucked up shit that nm is cooking up and it explains it to her (in vague terms to obfuscate some things about itself, but definitely clear enough to know who is threatening her.) SHE ends up with kajet rather than alpha. im undecided on what her first Demon Fucked Up moment is gonna be but it might end up being the episode w ravenfreak, he tries to plant the antivirus on her model which i assume might HURT her by that point and shes like oh ok. [tv statics you to death]

i have a few specific scenes planned out but the most notable changes are kajet being a little more sympathetic (thats how i portray it through all my stuff tho LOL), aforementioned flamey and kizuna taking the roles of alpha and zetto (mostly. the unending guilt and repression within that marshmallow freak is still present) and neomutant has a more relevant role as an antagonist. flamey gets like more paranoid and freaked out over the series due to the virus making her feel like...Heightened Shit. yknow theyre coming for BOTH of us. shes girlboss girlfail girlfuck. im unsure if i want alpha to get the antivirus to paralell her or have it be someone else...maybe gs just tries to help her whole cloth or smth.
