ooh, tell me about your magical girl show idea!!

Basically the story centers around a girl named lilla who is (unsurprisingly) bullied at school. Like the real bullying that left you with psychological trauma and a fear that everyone you know is talking about you behind your back. Because at one point, everyone was! Anyway she meets this weird fox one day who's like "hey kid i see that you hate all the other kids around you. Do you magic powers so you can get revenge?" And at fist lilla says no because. Thats a talking fox with a creepy voice what the fuck. But after a week or so the bullying gets really bad and she runs away from school to find the fox again and is like "i want to get my revenge on the other kids" so the fox is like "sweet follow me!" And they go to this fountain thats filled with a black sludge and the fox says "all you need to do is drink some of this essence, and all your wishes will come true" so Lilla does! She drinks some of the sludge and it tastes gross but whatever. Magic powers! In front of her appears a magic staff thing idk i needed a physical conduit for the magic itll make sense later. The fox explains that all her magic comes in wish form, all you need to say is "i wish" followed by the thing you want to happen, with a few caveats but those arent important (says the fox). So lilla is like "i wish i could fly!" And shes flying! And she flies home! And then she wishes that she wont get in trouble for missing school that day. The next day she does go to school, wishing that her staff is invisible so that no one laughs at her for having the staff. She makes several wishes that put her schoolmates in embarrassing situations, but near the end of the day, a classmate jokes about Lilla's dead mother, who had been shot in the head a few years back. The kid jokes and laughs about how they wonder if exploding head is genetic, and if lilla's head will explode just like her mom's did! And in a fit of rage, lilla says without thinking "i wish your head would explode!"

And it did.

Lilla wishes for her classmate to ckme back to life, but that is one of the few limits of the magic. You can kill people, but you cant bring them back to life. She wishes herself out of everyone's memories, which leaves her magic staff very small, more like a wand than a staff. The fox explains that the staff will shrink until its out of magic, and she'll need to refill it soon. The most effectiant way to do so is to kill the monsters that attack the world. It is impossible to make a wish that affects the monsters directly, but they are still vulnerable to blades and bullets and whatnot. Plus, a magic staff can absorb them! (Also the monsters are attacking the world because they want to eat it)

Its at this point that Lilla goes and meets others like her. Im trying not to call them magical girls because anyone can become one, but im yet to find a word that actually fits what these people are.

Anyway a bunch of bonus facts that show up way later in the story than i have detailed plans for:

The black sludge IS the fox being. By consuming part of the fox, you allow it to feed on your soul. The staff is a physical representation of the bonus soul energy ypu possess. The fox gives you a grace period to test out your powers before it asks you to collect more soul energy.

If your staff is completely erased, the fox will begin to feed on your personal soul energy, killing you. It also will slowly drain the energy from your staff over time. It would take about 6 months for your staff to go from ideal size to nothing if you didnt use a single wish.

If your staff is too far away from you, the fox cannot use its energy and begins to feed on yours instead.

Perpetual wishes (such as flight and invisibility) drain the staff at an accelerated rate so long as they are active. Summoning wishes (like wishing for a sword) only drain once for the summoning. Magic guns drain once for the summoning of the gun, and once for every bullet fired (so you dont need to reload, they just summon directly in there)

Places you can get external soul energy: if you kill anything with the staff you get its energy. Kill wishes are basically free lol. You can also absorb other people's magic staffs.

Last but not least: the fox is no different than the monsters that attack the world. It just got there first >:3

This is 100% some specific part, just dont know who I am right now. I am just... tired and pissed, and I have enough control to say things I'm not usually allowed to say.

First, and honestly the less severe of the two offenders: this fucking school. The only other school in the area with the same program is more than double the cost. So transfering isnt really an option. But i hate HATE having to keep an eye out for a short list of professors who want me kicked out of this program. I finished this semester and as i got ready to leave the final class, the teacher said goodbye with such vitriol. I pointed out that it sounded like get out. Her response was "well..." then she tipped her head like i had a point then walked away. I hate sitting here and praying her bias doesnt tank my grade in that class. I kind of like my 4.0. I hate that i will have to spend the next two years here watching my back. I've stopped keeping my diagnosis a secret. I will not sit back and let this school teach my fellow students that DID is a mythical creature when the 12 month prevalance rate is HIGHER than bipolar, OCD, and anorexia (at least according to the DSM-V. I dont own the TR yet). I wont hide when i have in ACTUAL EMAIL the CHAIR of the department saying I "am not allowed to continue in this program until such a time as I am cured of my disability." Sure its resolved for now, but I know I am holding a smoking gun.

And the fact that DID celebrities on tiktok and twitter are on a hate campaign against professionals? Yeah, triggering that anger more. Fuck them for roping me in with the entire profession. For making parts of us feel WRONG for wanting to enter the field cause theyre all getting painted as villains right now. They talk about professionals not listening to people with DID as if there are not professionals practicing RIGHT NOW who have DID. Talk about being stuck in the middle, when both your fellow professionals and your clients hate you.

And second, our husband: Who still refuses to use preferred pronouns. Who was OFFENDED when he found out we have male alters and accused us of being trans. Who still says it was okay to try and give us an exorcism when our DID first started showing (and the fact the first part claimed to be a demon is beginning to feel like a flimsy excuse). Who eats out meals without telling us then gets offended if we do the same. That I have to RATIONALIZE every single purchase with. Every single dollar spent has to be reported and labeled as to why we bought it so he can balance the budget. But like... we are paying out of our own bank account that is filled exclusively with our student loan money. So... why? Unleas he doesnt actually think we will get a job after this degree and is constantly preparing to take on our medical and grocery expenses. But we don't have the money to leave him and no support network in the area to help. Who still defends himself saying it was my BIBLICAL DUTY to give him sex. Who went a year without and growled out that he will NEVER go that long without sex again, and that sounded an awful lot like a threat at the time. The man that so many of us are still scared to talk to about anything remotely related to politics because its more important for him to stand up for his political beliefs than comfort our fears. Birth control, trans rights, riots, shuts all of those thoughts down with his anger. And yet, I'm in the minority on leaving this relationship. The others dont think its that bad. That he can get better. That he's TRYING to get better. As if him trying to get better absolves him of suffering any sort of punishment for his past actions. And the marriage counselor AGREES. Says things arent getting better in the relationship because we wont let go of the past. That its our TRAUMA and resulting trust issues ruining the relationship.

I'm tired of swallowing down acid when I feel like I have every right to be spitting it in other people's faces. But the others beg me to. And for the life of me, I cannot convince the others otherwise. They wont listen to me.

why am i seeing republicans on that post about how guns aren’t allowed in certain places saying “but guns are NOT allowed in schools!!” after everyone just made a big push for teachers to carry guns in class. did people miss that recent happening. did they not see that part at all.

or another political post i rb’d recently ppl saying “the dylan roof guy shot up a church, this has nothing to do with school shootings!!!” yes it does? these are both acts of terrorism? ok but yeah lets just play stupid, right.

MY NAME recap & review “You need conviction in order to kill someone”

The set up is plain, predictable and simple to understand and invest into. The pacing is fast, has interesting interactions with the leads. Im curious to see how the gang is related to all of this asides the connection of friends. The cinematography is decent and helps the vibe of the drama. Impressive choreography of stunts along with the camera movement with it.

Episode 1: Jiwoo a school drop out been constantly harassed by bullies due to her dad’s reputation as a druggie. She left school only to come home finding out her dad came back. She tells him to leave her and he’s considered dead. As someone who she’s hurt for her father gets stabbed and died infront of her home. Resulting to go to the only place who can solve this is through her father’s boss who is a gang leader. He wants her to kill him to join but couldn’t have the guts to do it. So she went to her other option and put up a search with reward money for the killer. She got herself into trouble and is saved by Choi Moonjin the Gang Leader. Choi tells her to stay low but she’s not having it but she’s adamant for revenge. In the end, the 2 join forces. She joins his team. Choi and Jung has a discussion and tells him he allows her to do her revenge. She also gets settled in and has a helping hand from a senior who’s only a few years older, though some of the members poke fun of her. They also make fun of her punches. Jiwoo continues to train to prove what she’s made of.

Episode 2: Jiwoo wins the round of fights from Gongjin and as result from jealousy he spiked her drink. After the destroyed earn she attacked Gongjin with revenge. She then continues to be trained by Choi and even given her a alias name too. Fast forward to a few years, she’s now on the inside of the organization of the police department in the violence crimes unit then transferred to the narcotics team. She is reported to Captain Cha and at one point of the operation she finally meets police officer Pildo.

She also informs to Choi that she believes Cha is part of the reason why her father is dead. Cha is the police team leader. The irony of it all Cha and Pildo works together for the same case. At this point Choi puts all his faith to Jiwoo but if things goes wrong she’ll soon be dead. At the end of the operation she captures Mango who is suppose for questioning then Officer Pildo quickly runs after her from taking so long. Both arent getting along well from the start.

Episode 3:

The drugs were finally found and Pildo continues to question Mango. Only to find out that the drugs were by non other than Gangjae. She’s crossing the line of doing her job in the police dept and her alliance with Choi. She continues to find more information about her father’s death. This is also a threat to Choi’s business and even moreso the police target is him. They were able to see them and Jiwoo lets him escape after a fire breaks out. She also tells Choi that there’s cameras at the end of certain areas of the hotel and there’s definitely a mole. Choi asked if it was her who made the shot which led him time to escape. Cha continues to investigate by himself on who caused the gun shot. Later on, Gangjae then makes a surprise attack at the old fighting gym. Pildo then alerts Jiwoo to be at Dongcheon Gym. When she arrives she sees a bloodbath site and Taeju alive. A view came in of the floor with written words of “Im back.” Yes, its official Gangjae is here.

Episode 4:

Pildo joins in Cha and Taeju as they see the gang mourning the deceased. Jiwoo is also there to witness in disguise. Pildo and Cha exchanged verbal rows with the gang but didnt let Pildo in. The head back and the result of the forensic report from the gun is still ongoing.

The gang then gets a lead on Gangjae as he’s the one responsible for the bloody scene. Cha gets it and knows that Choi is going to move. He also thinks that one of them will turn and go to their side. Cha then releases Mango from questioning. Jiwoo still in the background observing the lives lost and the investigation continues, she also informs Choi that there’ll be a trap. So far she hasn’t turned her back on him and keeps him updated. Despite this, its also believed that Jiwoo is the one leaking information and at this point Cha is slowly losing his trust on her. Once people are suspicious of her, they start to investigate her police profile. They soon found out that the gun belongs to Corporal Song. Jiwoo finds the time to meet Choi, Choi tells her that his organization doesnt kill cops and tells her that Cha has been after him for years. Once the gun has resurfaced Choi knows he’s playing dirty and not for Jiwoo to fall for his tricks.

The more they get suspicious so does Pildo, he then asks about her relationship about her father. All of a sudden, Pildo and Jiwoo are attacked by Gangjae’s thugs. At the same time, guards went blindside to Moojin. Jiwoo’s involvement with Mango’s operation is enough to get Gangjae’s attention. This is going to turn out bad. Gangjae is out for revenge too. The more Jiwoo sinks down further the more she’ll be in trouble. Who’s side will Jiwoo be on?

Episode 5:

Choi saves Jiwoo but Pildo is still stuck and couldnt get out. With Jiwoo able to work it out Pildo got out on time from the car crusher and Jiwoo is in shock. After Jiwoo saving Pildo’s life, he decides to trust her. While recovering on a outing, Taegu continues to spy on her. Choi also gives her a flight to leave and to give her a nice place to live. I feel like he’s slowly start to care for her and want to protect her. She’s getting way too hurt in the process.Choi also orders her because she’ll be in danger once Gangjae gets arrested but she refuses. In secret, Cha bugs into Jiwoo’s phone to find out who she’s been contacting. He’s still curious about her despite Pildo trusting his partner. In other news, firearms are allowed to be carried with the police. Jiwoo runs into Sergeant Cho who recognize her but lied infront of Cha. He claims it’s from the Violent Crimes Department and Pildo is curious. Seargant Cho discusses with Choi on what he’s been doing with Jiwoo, it seems that Cho has been getting drugs from him and by Choi’s annoyance he was thrown to the water. Jiwoo cooperates with Gangjae and she tells Choi that he’s fleeing the country. Before he does, Gangjae rings Cha to give him intel to catch Choi Moojin but with the proposition to let him out. The police team, Choi and Gangjae are all in the same area and this will definitely lead with a big blow out. Jiwoo shows up and ends in a gun point. Will her cover be blown? Choi Moojin manages to escape once Taeju arrives and Pildo witnessed the entire thing. Before Gangjae who’s about to confess Jiwoo manages to shoot.

Episode 6:

Begins with Moojin deeply hurt and about to be cured by a monk. Both Moojin and Jiwoo seem to be having PTSD which is caused by the previous incident. Jiwoo continues to be in trouble and is questioned by Pildo. Pildo forces her to reveal the truth but she barely revealed much. With Gangjae’s final shot, he gifts Jiwoo a picture of her father and the police infront. This is the same Song that Jiwoo asked to Cha. As one who is confused she heads over to Moojin. We find out that it was her father who flipped on the police and turned sides.After a deep discussion of learning the truth, Moojin orders Taeju to kill the police captain. Just in the nick of time, Jiwoo saves Cha. Once he realizes the truth he weakly hands her over a envelope and Pildo enters the scene.

It turns out Jiwoo’s father was deep undercover who gave Moojin a item that has a tracker inside and he found out by accident. He went livid after finding out the mole. Her dad is the mole of his organization. Moojin also knows that Donghoon is a cop until his last breath and tells her that he has a letter that is last written by her dad. After everything, Jiwoo wants to end her link to the organization by removing the symbolic tattoo. This is also by far the best scene Han Sohee has done in this drama.

Episode 7:

Cha survived the shot and Moojin found out that she was there at the scene and they’ll now kill her. Since he’s on the recovery, Pildo starts finding out more clues and i have a feeling he’s figuring out Jiwoo. They were also able to find blood and fingerprints. Soon enough she’ll be captured by the police. They’re not the only ones, Moojin’s goons too. That day, the police receive a tip-off from the temple about Moojin being treated by a doctor. Then to our surprise, the man himself shows up to his own accord at the police station. Like, who does that? The police are shook. They start questioning him and Moojin is ready to defend himself. He never stabbed Do Gongjae and never order Cha Giho’s death. He’ll try to prove his innocence as much as possible while Jiwoo continues to attack him. After the questioning, Pildo notices that Jiwoo mentioned something about a mole, Jiwoo defended herself saying that she’s just testing him out. It looks like Pildo aint buying it completely but he’s definitely certain there’s a mole. After the conversation, Jiwoo thanked him for everything. What is this? It’s like a final goodbye for her to him. Then gives Pildo Jiwoo’s phone records as reason just incase anything happens to Cha. While the police look like they found something, Jiwoo gives Choi a call saying that she has removed all the evidence.

The police figured out that its Jiwoo. Once they knew everything, Pildo is realizing all the things Jiwoo has said to him and realize it was all a lie. They start searching for her place and Pildo realizes that the earn is gone and he’ll likely stop by the cementary and Pildo caught her leaving. Pildo finally caught her and arrested her. Moojin tells his lawyer to get her out because he knows that she’s waiting for him. Our naive Pildo who is hurt starts questioning Jiwoo at the holding room. He then asks for her real name and Jiwoo looks like she’s about to reveal the truth.

Episode 8:

Im not sure what happened but everything with what happened to Pildo and Jiwoo turned out to be a mess. He now knows everything and that they got the wrong guy. The romantic turn was quite unexpected but what’s expected is for Pildo to be shot. The both of them ended up trying to catch the goons, he also find out that it wasnt her who attached Cho. As they both have to lay low, at one point the pair both became intimate. Both decided to stop Moojin once and for all because its Donghoon’s wishes. At this point, Pildo ended up dying.

At the end, she finally had her one on one with Moojin as her final battle with a knife fight. Moojin gets stabbed and the police ended up at the base.

The epilogue closes the drama with Jiwoo paying respects to both her father and Pildo.

The finale has left us with a few more questions than answered. What happened to Cha? Why was Jiwoo able to get away that easily? The surprising romance and the abrupt ending kinda made me feel like this drama ended short. Which is a shame.

Theyre both cowards so they try to run away but then boom Connor Murphy is right in front of them

Jared almost pissing himself #2

“Evan Hansen, right?” “Oh- ah, me? Oh yes thats right thats me, Evan. Hansen Evan, Evan Hansen.” *insert Jared taking off his glasses, cleaning it and putting it back on- proceeds to squint his eyes at Evan*

“Nobody signed your cast.” “No shit Sherlock.” *Insert Evan nudging Jared and glaring at him and Jared thinking he fucked up*

But Connor doesnt give a fuck and only glares at him bcs hes more interested in the blondes- i mean cough bcs its Jared

Then swoOP he signs his cast, “There, now we can both pretend we have friends”

Jared coughing, “Ahem???” Evan raising an eyebrow, “I thought we’re just family friends?”

Anyways bcs idk how they became friends bcs idk Jared tells Evan about how he met him at the scout camp and then for some reason Evan has this sudden burst of confidence where he decided to talk to Connor but fails miserably but Connor notices and then he talks to them and then what Evan says in For Forever turns true and-

The more I think about it, the more I think we should stop sending our children to school past grade 5.

More under the cut. TW for suicide mention, mental illness, gun violence mention, and assault mention.

Of course education is important, but schools dont really educate; not anymore. At least, "higher learning" like middle / high school and college don't. I can think of only two classes in grades 6-12 that I've ever used in my day to day life, and those were sex ed (which was comprehensive for me, but which many schools in the US arent even allowed to have on the syllabus) and home economics. The rest were really just full of meaningless facts that I was forced to memorize and that I likely won't remember by ten years after graduation.

It's not that I think people should be uneducated. It's that as early as 100 years ago, people wouldn't send children to school before they were six years old, and now preschools start enrollment at six weeks old. Its that I learned very little in my teenage years that I would ever use in my adult life. Its that school contributed to my depression and anxiety that started at age 11 when I was in sixth grade, and that I'm still struggling with today.

More than anything else, though, while elementary school taught to read and write and made learning a part of life, sixth grade and up made me hate learning. It taught me that learning is a chore to finish and be done with so you can do "fun things". It taught me that if you can't get something right on the first try, you're bad at it and theres no point trying. More than trying to get me ready to choose my own path in life, school was focused on three things; fidelity to country, unconditional respect and obedience to authority, and capitalism training.

Fidelity to country: Every single day started with the pledge of allegiance. Some kids didnt stand for it, and I wish I'd been one of them. On veterans day my senior year, our first hour teacher told the class that any students that didnt stand for the pledge that day would be sent to the office for "disciplinary action". After the pledge, the whole class was escorted down the hall to the room of a teacher who was also a veteran, and we all had to stand in a line to shake his hand and thank him for his service. At age 17, I didn't think that was too strange. At age 23, having lived through Trump's presidency and seen what nationalism and extremism looks like more clearly, I find it much more off-putting than before.

Unconditional respect for authority: For me, this really started in second grade. After first grade, I was transferred to a new school which was poorly managed. The school was understaffed and overcrowded, classrooms were wildly out of ratio and teachers were overwhelmed. My brother, in kindergarten, hardly knew how to spell his name by the end of the year, and that's only because he had extra-curricular support.

The school avoided any and all accountability by having a policy of "the teacher is always right", therefore placing all responsibility on the students for any learning difficulties they encountered. The school board thankfully let my siblings and I transfer to a more competent and less crowded school after I was physically assulted by another student (a boy from another class who tried to suffocate me), and my parents threatened a lawsuit against the district.

The expectation for unfailing respect was amplified in high and middle school, from the constant police presence in schools to the draconian dress code regulations to teachers who treated their profession like a power trip. I did have a lot of good teachers, but others acted like being a teacher gave them license to act like a drill sergeant.

Capitalism training: this is very different than career training. Career training would have taught us marketable, useful skills. Rather, my school district got us ready for the workforce by having us sit at a desk for eight hours a day, delegating us tasks to be completed in a set amount of time, or we'd have life-altering repercussions. We were young adults who had little to no say in how we spent our day to day lives. I feel like these things contributed a lot to spending my teenaged years feeling like I had no direction in life; a feeling that persists in adulthood and has caused me untold distress, from difficulty in career choice to suicidal ideation.

As a teen, I didn't really understand the point of it all. However, it seems fairly obvious as an adult. School was training for corporate life. Modern American schools are turning out kids who have very few life skills, who are primed to sit at a desk for 8 hours, completing largely meaningless tasks and putting up with bullshit from authority figures whom they know better than to question.

In my personal experience, everything past grade 5 had nothing to do with education; rather, it was a nearly decade-long indoctrination ritual to prepare children to take their place as an employee and "contribute to society" under Late Stage Capitalism. It's framed as a necessary part of life, but the truth is that historically, parents, extended family and community were the forces that educated children. They taught them the life skills useful to their time and culture. Today, for example, technological literacy is needed, but a Native American child in 1500 would have learned how to hunt, how to mend, and how to build shelter. A child in 4000 BC Egypt would have likely learned to grown plants in the Nile Delta and care for farm animals.

Learning is a part of life. Human brains are supercomputers that can recognize patterns like nothing else in the world. No teacher has to sit down a typically developing child and teach them to speak; they learn through daily life. Humans didn't learn to make fire in lecture hall. We're naturally curious and eager to learn as children, but after going through school, very few adults retain this enthusiasm.

I used to be able to read three novels in an afternoon. Now I struggle to finish a chapter. This shift did not come about until age 11, the same year I entered middle school.

Children go to school now because there is rarely any other choice. In most American families, both parents work, and if a child is in a single-parent household, it's even less likely they have a stay-at-home parent. This symptom of Late Stage Capitalism (parental absense) causes children to grow into adults indoctrinated into the system, which is causatious of Late Stage Capitalism. It's a cycle that can be hard to break.

But we have to do something. Education reform, finding a way to homeschool / educate through community, or even just stop having kids. I haven't had any children yet because I dont want to raise my babies to be corporate slaves for the Jeff Bezos or Elon Musk of their generation.

Because as it stands right now, America's schoolchildren that aren't gunned down by angry white men are coming out the other side of graduation depressed, directionless, and with one of the highest suicide rates (second leading cause of death for Gen Z) in human history.

What American schools are doing isn't just not working, it's purposefully malicious. We need to change.
