CHICKEN SHOP DATE (part 3 of FRIENDSHIP TEST)

A/N: this is reader doing a chicken shop date with Amelia, not Jack. I don't like giving reader a face bc i want for you all to feel like you are y/n, but this time it was necessary, so i chose jade bc i love her <3 anyway, remember it's not her, it's YOU mwah 💗

I don't think any of you haven't seen the date with jack, but I'll leave the link HERE anyway, in case anyone doesn't understand the dynamic of the date (and why i just put "cut" at the end of every scene)

“So, you are dating jack harlow”, amelia said and you smiled shyly, being silent for a moment.

“Yes”, you finally said and giggled

“So why are you on a date with me then?”

“Oh, I thought this was a friends date”

“Oh”, she said acting disappointed, and the scene cut to show fries frying.

“Jack was here one time”, Amelia said, continuing the topic.

“I know”, you said fighting a smile

“Were you jealous? He flirted a lot with me”, she said eating a fry, you laughed

“Oh, I wasn’t dating him then”, you said eating a fry too

“But you already had feelings...?” she said, with a tone somewhere between affirmation and question.

“I’ve always had feelings for him” you recognized, blushing

“So, were you jealous?” Amelia asked again, with her characteristic voice and expressions.

“No, not at all. I’m not the jealous type”

“Reaaalllyy?”

“You think someone that is the jealous type could be with someone as flirty as jack?” You asked back, giggling

“mmm fair enough”

The scene cut.

“So was your chat up line?”

“Hi”, you answered, imitating your boyfriend

“Hi?” Amelia asked, just as she asked jack

“No, I’m not that lame”, you said laughing loudly making Amelia break character and laughing with you, “jack’s gonna kill me for that!”

Cut.

“did he use the “hi” chat up line with you?”

“oh yeah”

“so it worked”

“mmm kinda”

“kinda? You are dating him”

“well…” you said, smiling awkwardly

Cut.

“What’s the most important thing for you in a relationship?”

“Honesty”, you said without hesitation, “trust”

“can you forgive someone that breaks your trust?”

“No”, you said quickly

“Uhhh, be careful Jack”

You laughed, “i think we should stop naming him”

Cut.

“What’s the most romantic thing someone has ever done for you?”

You smiled, “writing me a song”

“Oh, I’m not gonna ask who did it”, she said rolling her eyes, “it’s on his album?”

“I had other boyfriends before, you know” you said and she raised an eyebrow, “but it was him” you recognized, and she rolled her eyes sighing “and no”, you said shaking your head, “It's not on his album, unless one of those songs is about me and I don't know it.”

“I remember when he came, he said that the most romantic thing he had ever done for someone was bought them a plane ticket”

“it's nice to know that he outdid himself… because a plane ticket, really, babe?” you said, looking at the camera, and your crew laughed.

“And what’s the most romantic thing you had ever done?”

“besides writing songs, I think… writing letters, it’s something that I do naturally”

“Have you written for more than one person?”

“I’ve done it for all my boyfriends”, Amelia looked at the camera like a character from the office, “not that I’ve had that many anyway”

“How many partners have you had?”

“Three”

“Including ja… the actual one?”

You laughed, “yes, including the actual one”, you said emphasizing the “actual one” and looking at the camera too, again.

“Were they… famous?”

“No, I think I’m more attracted to non-famous people, so ja… the actual one…”, you corrected yourself, “it’s an exception, like Hayley Williams said, you are the only exception”, you sang

“Ooh, that was really beautiful”

“Thank you”, you said bowing with your hand

Cut.

“I saw your date with Matty Healy”, you said raising an eyebrow

“Uhmm, I'm the one who starts the topic of conversation” Amelia said acting confused

“well, not this time”

“What about matty? Do you like him?” She said trying to turn the tables, you just laughed

“No, but I got really nervous when he tried to kiss you”

“Giiiirlll, don’t tell me”

“I screamed”, you recognized

“Me too… internally, but don’t tell him”

“Do you want kids?”

“Yes”

“Eight?” Amelia asked and you laughed, knowing that she was going to said that, “because better start now”

“no fucking way i'm having eight kids, I think is enough to ruin the lives of one or two, maybe three” you said, and Amelia tried not to laugh.

“you’re so real for that”

“that’s what parents are for”

“okay but, will you have kids with ja… the actual one?” she asked, correcting herself again.

“oh, it’s too soon to think about that, besides… I won't forget that he yelled "single dad!" super excited when you asked him” you joked.

She frustrates Santa to no end bc A) She's Jack Frost and he has previous biases, and B) she goes OUT OF HER WAY to bother him.

When I say Jacqueline dislikes tscs!Scott, I am not joking. It is not hyperbole. She can't STAND him. And she tells him that to his FACE. MULTIPLE TIMES. And adds insult to injury bc she's buds with Carol and Buddy and Sandy, lol, and all the new gen elves are like, chill with her

(I have a silly hc that Betty is a Bernelle kid and Jacquie's her godmother, lollllll)

She and I both dislike people who need change and refuse to work on themselves/believe they're FINE and it SHOWS.

After she made the claim about murdering Jack, Santa was TERRIFIED on top of his usual distaste for Jack's successor lmao

She was quite delighted at how Santa took that tale. Elaborated a bit. I imagine it went something like this:

"...you what?" Her murderous look intensified. Santa could easily picture the darkness gathering around her the way it did in cartoons when the evil character was. Well. Being evil. "You heard me!" She sounded way too delighted, Santa noted. "I killed my predecessor! You know, the guy before me? Yeah. Stabbed him right dead. Pulled the vest out of the melted pile of slush that was once Jack Frost the first and put it right on." "...Jesus Christ."

Anyway, after that, she goes home and Jack pops in for 4 o'clock coffee and the final image ensues, lol. This interaction follows that:

"And he believed you?" Jack asked, pulling out the chair next to her and plunking down, stretching out his legs and crossing them at the ankles. "Damn near shat himself about it, too," Jacqueline confirmed, looking sly over the top of her mug. Jack laughed. "Oh that's, that's marvellous." "Mm! It was! THEN I elaborated. Told him I took the vest like a war trophy, you know? Didn't even wash it or anything. Shame I said SLUSH instead of BLOOD because I bet he would've like. DIED on the spot picturing me putting on a blood soaked vest, ehehe. I swear Jack, I could see his soul leave his body. Definitely top 5 best days at work. Maybe top 3, even."

Jack is deffs enjoying retirement in this au! Going full vacation mode, spending most days in various hot spots on various beaches with various drinks, usually popping by the family home for 4 o'clock coffee and cocoa--and a break from the sun since he burns and Winter worries

Random thoughts while watching Black Sails 2x4

the Max/Anne/Jack throuple seemed a little tense afterwards (particularily Max and Jack) :(

Charles Vane doesn't look as happy as I expected about his new posession. I can't tell if it's bc he has second thoughts about the whole thing or if he's worried her father won't pay

speaking of which, she decidedly did not answer the question when she said "My father will pay." So I have some doubt about that.

his little smile when she told him she was glad Ned Low is dead - he really has a soft spot for strong women, doesn't he?

(also everybody will get real tired of this real soon, but he really does look good in every single scene he's in?? one of the few characters who actually looks better on screen than in my head. how.)

Our semester has pretty much come to its conclusion — my first final is in…. 18 days? Just a little over two weeks, which is a terrifying thought. I’ve been trying to see to my needs and give myself a break and here though! <3 I just hope you’ve been taking care of yourself the same way? Please don’t let yourself drown in academic or other stressors, and know that with as strong as you are, you can overcome anything.

The online mods…. Yeah, I’ve. seen a couple. They’re, something certainly. (My reaction to that information v)

What does he do? Well, he was a cop— just started his job, actually (like one day? literally one day? It was the first day?), but then pretty much got hired by The President and got employment as a government agent for the United States. Fun.

The Resident Evil world is… interesting? Kind of like if, “fuck around and find out” and, “instead of asking if you can, ask if you should” combined. There’s biological weapons running rampant, including dogs, literal zombies (but we don’t call them zombies, no), and uh…. Huge grey men?

Say hi to him. He will not die. You cannot kill him. You cannot kill anything in this stupid universe actually. My favourite Resident Evil game, Resident Evil 7 (which… ironically doesn’t have Leon in it) literally features this one stupid fucking Southern family (whom I love so sweetly) and the father, Jack Baker, just will. Not. Die. You know how in games you get to experience different boss battles? Yes, well, I don’t remember how many boss battles are in RE7, but I will tell you this: 3 of them belong to Mr. Baker ENTIRELY. He just mutates worse and worse and you keep thinking he is dead but he is NOT. You kill his wife and she dies but no, he just won’t fucking die. And then you buy the DLC and you play as the big, strong, veteran uncle who just PUNCHES THINGS INSTEAD OF USING WEAPONS AND IT SOMEHOW FUCKING WORKS and guess who the big bad is! You’ll never guess! You’ll never figure it out! That’s right! It’s Jack Fucking Baker for the fourth god damn time and now he looks even more disgusting and corrupted. Although the game did not include Leon (it held Ethan Winters, a darling father), it’s still set in the same universe so I feel like you can get a pretty good… idea from all of that, yes? Remember ! Nothing. Dies. If you think it’s dead, it is not, it is simply now More aware of your existence.

Now, onto the actual man himself.

First of all? Not related to my view on him but he’s was… kind of misogyny-coded in the original Resident Evil 4 and that makes me giggle a little but I still somehow prefer that RE4 to the 2023 Remake. I know I reblog gifs of the remake a lot and that is simply because, I mean, who doesn’t enjoy experiencing their silly guy with better graphic quality, right? But I don’t like the alterations they did to certain scenes and dialogues. Also he looked like this in the original re4 which scares me more than the undying mutated abominations so, I. Well.

(^ NOT RELATED TO THE MISOGYNY HE WAS SUFFERING FROM DISEASE HE WAS ILL)

Okay, okay, anyway…. I HATE how the fandom views him, it stresses me out. They view him as this demanding, super serious, violent, brooding man who just wants a stupid, ditzy, useless girlfriend he can dominate, control and be a creep towards but that’s… not him? Like, how do you mess up so bad. This isn’t a particular part of the fandom as much almost the majority of it, sadly.

I feel like he’d, if anything, be a “wife guy”; he has a stressful job, he is traumatised beyond belief, he looks death in the eyes on a regular basis, he lost his parents when he was young, he has went through a-lot. And yet he’s so gentle, he still believes in saving everyone. He still believes in humanity and has this hope in him. He is still… soft. I don’t think he’d be a controlling or aggressive partner; I think he just wants something comforting to come back to, and he’d be SO grateful to have a partner who sticks by him through thick or thin, he’d be so genuinely giddy while taking about them. He lost his parents for fuck’s sake and got stuck in this godforsaken infected world when he was just 21… he wants home, I think more than anything he wants to come back to a place where he doesn’t have to think, where things can be handled for him and all he has to do is let himself be loved. Praised and acknowledged for once in his (somewhat miserable, let’s be honest) life. I mentioned, while answering Lucy’s ask, that I view him as a guard dog, and I think that’s perfect for him. He exists to protect — he has dedicated himself to that protection, to offering that canopy. His aggression is never on the offence, it has never been; not once, but it is done as a protective measure. If the years have reduced Ajax to a sword then they have reduced Leon to a shield. He just wants his efforts acknowledged — he just wants praise and warmth and comfort — and yet are they ever? At-least, to the degree they deserve? He falls into a depressive state in Resident Evil: Vendetta and it stings. He is such a simple man and I genuinely believe domesticity could fix him. He has never known what it’s like to feel safe — why would anyone want to force him to be a protector even in his partnership, even in intimacy? Let him relax for fuck’s sake. Let him. know what it’s like to be on the other end for once in his life. Comfortable clothes, hand holding on a warm cup of tea rather than a gun or a knife. No news channels and no social media or nothing. Phone on DND. I do not care if the USA burns to the ground, I want him to rest his head on my shoulder and finally get the sleep he hasn’t had in years. Civilian lives can wait a few hours to be saved.

Thoughts on the finale of White Lotus?

Oh boy. I've got conflicting, mixed thoughts but primarily: Mike White, we get the themes and what-not, but let straight men face consequences.

Spoilers below.

RIP the queen, glad she went out like that and not at anyone's hand tho.

I'm a little underwhelmed by the multiple deaths. I think we were all excited for these deaths to be a bit more connected (or at least to be more People We Cared About), like Armand's was.

So Harper's story this ep was: be accosted by gross, predatory man while she was drunk and also drunk on wanting revenge bc her husband gaslit her to win her man back? That sucks. Glad E & H can get back together or whatever but idk. Ethan still sucks imo.

Needed more Daphne.

I feel like we could have gotten more out of the plots than we were given, honestly. Like yes I was tense the entire episode, but I feel like the danger escalated so much in so little time with The Gays, Portia, and Tanya.

As always, I love a scammer, good for Lucia.

I wanted/expected more drama outside of the Tanya + Portia plots. When Giuseppe came back I was like "omg what if he kills Mia because of this" but he just went away. Why bring him back? (I know why but it's boring. Character growth blah blah.)

Honestly I can't say enough how much more of Daphne I wanted.

I wanted Albie to snap. Not "I betrayed my mother by taking a bribe from my dad to say he's changed when he damn well hasn't" snap, that's expected and weak and yeah he doesn't grow as a character that's part of the point, but I wanted a full on Violent Break. (Maybe kill Lucia! I don't know. Do something.)

Cool that Portia and Albie reconnected but again... straight men should face consequences.

Portia deserves better than Albie anyway. Yeah she's insufferable but she's now got all this trauma to unpack at home and Albie will only make her life worse.

I know this ep was longer than a typical episode but if we had two episodes instead of this long one I think we could have gotten more Daphne time.

Jennifer Coolidge & Meghann Fahy, Emmys when?

I know the vase breaking was symbolic of breaking the curse or whatever but again.... straight men probably should have had consequences.

Daphne and Harper should have had time together without their husbands before the end of the episode, aside from me just wanting more Daphne time.

Overall I think there were weak parts in storytelling that didn't necessarily serve it overall (Cameron kissing Harper, Daphne and Ethan's trip to Islo whatever, the confrontation between Tanya & Quentin about "is this Greg?").

The power Jack talked about with those guys was completely tell-don't-show imo, Quentin was obviously the mastermind but he didn't seem scary like he was implying, probably because he was taking advantage of a woman who the audience knows is easy to take advantage of.

Tbh hellers and mooch side of the fandom destroy the fandom enjoyment, and they specifically destroyed castiel's character for me. Castiel was actually a nice character in the previous seasons and while in the later seasons he's become extremely annoying and unnecessary as a character, I still thought his role and relationship with Jack's character was great. His speech to dean reduced his character when you think of it from a romantic angle. Not only it makes no sense, but it is also unnecessary and has no bearing on the plot and story. Castiel's real ending and arc naturally would be about being a father to Jack, leading him to his path, and following him and teaching him how to be God, fixing Heaven as the father and son together. Because one of the struggles Castiel always showed was about him feeling guilty that he killed all those angels during the godstiel arc and made them fall bc of metatron's manipulation, so seeing him fix Heaven and help the angels and finally bringing a new order and peace to Heaven through helping Jack is actually a better fit for his character arc. Also his speech should have been directed to Jack, not to Dean tbh. Because all the parallels have been there, Dean's speech to Sam and leading his brother to have a new normal life shows their brotherly bond but also Dean has always been a 'father figure' to Sam so it makes sense perfectly in the narrative. Castiel giving a similar speech to Jack would have been more reasonable in terms of the narrative and for both Castiel and Jack's arcs.

Anyway I am sorry that I am rambling in here but it is just annoying how some fans (and mooch himself) can ruin so many things within the show and reduce the enjoyment level and characters' arcs just for a fanservice ship that was never meant to be there and was never actually written in the narrative in the first place.

Yeah, while I too was completely over the version of Castiel we were left with by the end of the show - especially the narrative insistently TELLING us that he was the Winchesters' bestie while SHOWING him repeatedly undermining them, betraying them, and generally getting in their way?

They really did have something going with him and Jack that made a decent amount of sense. Castiel was always going to be on the outside with the Winchesters. Because he wasn't mortal like they were and hadn't been through all they had together in the same way to the same degree, and because of their crazy mixed up codependent relationship that just didn't have room for anyone else to truly be on the inside. Jack was different, though. He was another outsider who could be more on Castiel's level in a number of ways, and a protégé who genuinely needed him and could give him purpose in others. In a way that being "the Winchesters' protector" wasn't working out for him - because they didn't need him to try and be the hero and the narrative beat us over the head with him needing to be needed in a way he just wasn't by them. It's what the show actually did with Castiel's ultimate ending anyway, having him help Jack rebuild heaven. So yeah, Castiel's final speech would have made so much more sense if it had been to - or even just about - Jack.

Instead, Misha and Berens chose to pander to a bunch of shippers who were never going to be happy with anything short of Dean and Castiel nonsensically hooking up for a HEA out of nowhere. Knowing it would get said shippers' hopes up when Castiel wouldn't be back. Under the conditions that Dean didn't reciprocate and Castiel's words were ambiguous enough to be equally interpretable as intense familial love. With zero apparent awareness of how much more dubious and stalker-y A LOT of Castiel's interactions with the Winchesters come across if you interpret his words as romantic. In short, they didn't care about what Castiel's story actually was, just fanservice - and fanservice that was doomed to fail at that.

look ive gone on record as a jackagnes hater and i do have a lot of Opinions on it but in interest of not extending what is already a fairly long post ill try not to harp on it for too long

i think for me it comes down to the fact that really i dont see why jack's perception of agnes (as a partner) is any more trustworthy than jude's (as a goddess) or arthur's (as a prophet), for example. being other than what people expect is the thematic cornerstone of agnes' arc, and theres not really much i can see about jack that suggests to me it'd be any different for him

i should say actually that i do think he's very interesting as a character, but really i see him more as the idea of agnes being idealised even outside of the cult than anything else

(also i could not think of any others that would make sense to put alongside these which are kinda the main three but. if anyone has any other agnes ships i would honestly love to hear suggestions, serious or not)

Day Two: Fuckery Or Tavern

A nice, quiet date night at Spanish Jackie's, full of booze and... mostly just that, actually. And the three of them being very relaxed and silly.

"What's that face for?" Stede chuckles. "Olu, are you worried about us?"

"You, yes," Olu scoffs. "With respect, the last time you went into Spanish Jackie's-"

"Things are different now! Ed said he wrote her ages ago that we'd be in the next time we got close to the Republic, and-"

"Right, you told us all about that, but that doesn't change the fact that if she has a chance to kill you, she will. Just because."

"Just because? Seems a poor reason to kill someone," Stede's nose wrinkles. "Well, then I will win her affections with this visit, and she'll never want to kill me again!"

Olu nods. "So, I told Izzy if shit goes down that we'll be ready to leave at a moment's notice. Everyone is on board with that, and they don't mind hanging close to the ship for it."

"You worry too much!" Stede pats his shoulder and gestures to his outfit. "Good? Piratey and sexy, yeah?"

"For a plain black shirt and tr-" Olu pauses. "That's Izzy's shirt. If you're wearing that, what is he-"

"We're done!" Ed makes his way out of the secret passageway, Izzy behind him. "Olu, good! Give us all a once-over before we head out for date night, make sure we look-"

"Sexy, yeah," Olu says. "Are you just going out with Izzy's vest as your top?"

"Why wouldn't I?" Ed motions to it. "Soft and comfy and worn in, and I get to show off a little. And Izzy-"

He moves aside and gently pushes Izzy forward. "As you can see, has borrowed from both of us."

The trousers are clearly Stede's (black silk and tight), the shirt one of Ed's (a black crop top), but everything else is still Izzy's, including the cravat and ring that hasn't been loosened even an inch.

"If I saw you guys in a tavern-" Olu starts, only to turn at the room door flying open.

"He'd fuck you all in a heartbeat," Jim finishes. "Come on, I need help convincing Buttons and the Swede not to host a knife catching contest."

"Did you offer to be in said contest?" Olu smiles.

"That's assistant first mate to crew confidentiality," Jim replies. "If you aren't gonna stop us, then Roach at least wants another pair of hands ready for stitching people up."

"We'll be fine," Olu says. "No one is going to be too horribly stabbed on my watch."

"My ear!" is the shout from outside that sends Olu and Jim hurrying off, and leaves the three of them to head ashore.

"Do you think Jim meant that?" Stede asks. "Not that I fancy Olu like that, would be inappropriate in the workplace-"

"He'd have to wait his turn anyway," Ed interrupts. "You look so good. Izzy's shirt, my extra trousers, which you should really wear more often-"

"They're so much work to get on! Otherwise, I might consider it," Stede sighs. "Oh no."

"Jackie," Izzy strides towards the door of the tavern. "You are not in quarantine. This lie might have worked on Jack, but that's only because he doesn't care where he drinks in the end."

Her head pops out as the door opens. "Would you shut up?! Ed and Stede will hear y-oh."

She slips all the way outside with a grimace. "Ed, Stede, hey! So, as you can see, y'all are gonna have to go elsewhere tonight-"

"Is this because of me and Jack?" Ed asks. "Because we were young, and stupid-"

"It was three years ago," Jackie interjects.

"I've learned a lot in those three years, and Jack is dead! We've all grown as people."

"If I let you in," Jackie sighs deeply. "And that is an if, you promise that fucker is under your control at all times. Or I'll cut off more than his nose."

Stede scoffs loudly. "Are you referring to me?"

"Sure as fuck ain't referring to Izzy," she says. "Worst he does is fall asleep after a few drinks."

"Come on," Izzy mutters.

"You do! It's okay, not a bad thing!"

"Is it just wine that does it? He claims it's just wine," Stede says.

"Fuck no, it's everything. Cute too, he lays his lil head down by his cup, gets all snuggly," Jackie giggles. "Shit is adorable."

"Adorable," Izzy grumbles. "Are we allowed in or not?"

"He needs the sleep, grumpy little fucker," Jackie opens the door and motions them in. "Hurry up before I change my mind."

They pile into a fairly empty tavern; the quarantine signs had been up long enough to keep most people away, apparently.

"Shots?" Ed asks.

"Already?" Izzy mutters, but he takes the offered tray of them to a table as soon as Jackie's latest barkeep hands it over.

"Can I ask what exactly happened with Jack here?" Stede murmurs as they settle into their seats at the corner table. "Or do I not want to know?"

"You've seen Jack drunk," Ed starts.

"Who hasn't," Izzy snorts under his breath.

"Iz!"

"He's right," Stede says. "But anyway."

"Anyway, he can get a bit wild, and he sort of got offended when no one would dance with him-"

"Important to know, there wasn't a band in for the night," Izzy interrupts. "There was nothing to dance to except his own version of shanties he barely remembered."

"You could have sang," Ed says. "He did ask you if you would."

"You sing?" Stede's eyes light up, and Izzy downs a shot.

"Yes. I'm not doing so here tonight, and that's that."

"So Jack got up and started dancing alone," Ed continues. "And when no one would join in he got... well..."

"He cost us the biggest sum of money I've ever spent in bribes to make something go away," Izzy scoffs. "Literally, everything we had on us and a few of the extra rings we wore that night. And I'm sure Jackie was still in the red with all the damage he did. Somehow didn't break the nose jar though."

"Because he thought it was haunted," Ed supplies before down a shot himself. "Why, I'll never know."

"Might be all the noses and the presumption that they're likely dead if they lost their nose," Stede notes. "Not that I think the soul resides in the nose or anything."

"Maybe it's in the liver," Ed giggles, and they burst out into rapidly softened laughter at Jackie's glare.

"See?" Stede grins. "She's worrying for nothing. We'll have a nice couple of hours here, drink until we're stumbling, then go back home."

"She's got the stomach for it," Stede's drink sloshes over the rim of his glass. "But Doug doesn't. He's very nice, don't get me wrong. Pretty eyes. But he could never be a pirate."

"Okay, okay, okay," Izzy says. "But I didn't think you could hack it either, and you've surprised me. Who could say that Doug couldn't do the same?"

"Who would watch the children then?" Stede protests. "They can't be alone yet, not old enough..."

"I could watch them," Ed says. "They sound like good kids."

"Alma once spent a day setting the drapes on fire to see what would happen," Stede sighs. "We only found out after the fifteenth one, because she couldn't put that one out on her own."

"Right, she's your kid, we know that already," Izzy chuckles.

"I don't like setting things on fire!"

"Dickfuck, yes you do!" Ed laughs. "You set stuff on fire all the time! The party alone, you set on fire so many guys!"

"Technically!" Stede protests. "Hm. There was the island after that. And the last four ships we raided... it's just so pretty! All the colours and the warmth of it..."

"Does the little one set fires yet?" Izzy asks.

"Louis? No, no...he..." Stede frowns. "He doesn't do much of anything yet. Follows his sister around and joins in whatever mischief she's doing. Though, it's been a bit now...he probably does have actual hobbies now, doesn't he?"

"I shouldn't have asked," Izzy pats Stede's back. "You're drunk enough to be weepy."

"You are," Stede sniffles. "Oh, they're better off without me. Good for them. Hopefully they won't burn the house down."

"A toast to not burning down houses!" Ed cheers, and the whole, now much more full, tavern raises glasses with them.

"I hope we didn't just jinx them," Stede mumbles.

"Doug may not be a pirate, but surely he can keep children from setting fires," Izzy sighs. "Are his eyes really that pretty?"

"It's insane," Ed interjects. "He's described them to me, and I'm mad I'll never look the man in the eyes myself, and I hate eye contact most of the time."

"Tell me," Izzy grins, and Stede slides onto his lap as he goes into his lecture about Doug's eyes.

"Jackie," Stede mumbles. "I love you."

"I should have told Olu to come with and drag you guys back," Jackie pats Stede's back, and gently but forcefully ends their hug. "Be safe getting back, alright? I won't be happy if I find out you dumbasses drowned trying to get to the ship."

"We're fine," Izzy says from his seat on the cobblestones. "Just a bit spinny, all of it."

"All of what?" Ed asks.

"Yeah."

"Oh god," Jackie sighs as she shuts the tavern door, and they struggle out into the night.

"I will sing for you sometime," Izzy nudges Stede as they huddle together. "If you'd like."

"I would love! Can I choose the song? Wait, no, I bet you have something you know by heart; I want to hear that!"

"Pretty man with a pretty voice," Ed coos. "Stede, pass this kiss to him, hm?"

He kisses Stede's cheek, and Stede dutifully kisses Izzy's in turn.

"What was Olu even worrying about," Stede says as he leans on Ed. "We're so good."

"So good," Ed agrees. "Can you move your feet before I vomit on them?"

He does, but only just in time.

"I told you both to eat more," Izzy sighs and switches sides, putting Ed in between himself and Stede as they help him along. "No one ever listens to me."

"Maybe if you sang it?" Ed suggests as he wipes off his mouth. "No singing tomorrow though. I can already feel the headache."

"No, tomorrow we nap and Roach will bring us water and something gentle to eat," Stede says happily. "I bet he's already got water waiting in our room."

Izzy nods. "Speaking of, we're at, the ladder is here."

He points upwards, only to gag. "Don't look up. Too much spinning, up."

"Do you maybe have vertigo?" Stede suggests as he gently pushes Ed up the ladder. "Oh, the water is deep here, hm? Nearly knocked me down. But really, based on everything I've heard, it's not anything wrong with you, with the spewing and all-"

As if on cue, Izzy vomits into the water.

"Right, that, like yes, you're drunk but also dizzy, so maybe-"

"Please get up the ladder before we drown, love," Izzy sighs.

"You've done it with that; you know I can't say no when you use pet names on me," Stede grins. "Can you help me?"

They manage to drag each other up, with Olu and Roach helping them the rest of the way with hands held out.

"You three had fun," Roach teases. "Who's gonna feel horrible tomorrow?"

"Yeah," Ed mumbles, leaning against the mast. "What time is it anyway?"

"Later than you said you'd be back by," Olu replies. "Hours later. The sun's due to be up soon, let's get you into your quarters before that happens."

"Like a vampire, but because of booze," Stede says, in the tone of someone giving an academic lecture.

"Sure," Roach motions them towards their quarters. "We're not carrying any of you, so-"

"But Izzy's dizzy," Stede says pathetically.

"I'm fine," Izzy stands from the deck, only to go pale and immediately flop back down.

"His crush on you is only gonna get worse," Ed grins as Roach helps Izzy up, letting him lean against him. "Remember Iz, Stede and I don't mind sharing now and again."

"Ignore him; he's drunk," Izzy protests, but his eyes linger on Roach's lips.

"So are you," Roach chuckles as they make their way finally into the room. "Bed, water, clean clothes for now, and tomorrow we can talk about who is sharing who with who as much as you want."

"Your eyes are even prettier than Doug's," Izzy mumbles softly.

"Is that a good thing?" Roach asks.

"It's a compliment you can't even imagine," Stede sighs and flops onto the bed. "Are there-"

"Buckets, yes," Olu interjects. "And water, and some hardtack, and extra blankets because we guessed Ed might want-"

"Blanket fort!" Ed stumbles forward, reaching for the nearest one. "We'll build and sleep in one tonight. Give me five minutes."

"I'll give you ten," Olu shakes his head. "We'll leave you three to it, and check on you in a bit, yeah?"

"Thank you for watching the ship and everyone, Olu," Stede replies. "You're the Doug of our ship: responsible and gorgeous."

"Thought you didn't fancy him like that?" Ed teases.

"I can appreciate and look without wanting to get in Jim's way," Stede huffs. "I don't think I can sit up again."

Olu bites back a giggle. "You're welcome, and thank you? I think. Please get some sleep."

His and Roach's footsteps trail out, the door gently shutting behind them.

"Ed, shall I help with the fort?" Izzy mutters, leaning against the wall where Roach left him.

But Ed is silent, snuggling on the floor with the blanket he'd grabbed, already lightly dozing.

"Stede," Izzy stumbles his way to the bed. "May I lay with you?"

"You can even be sick on me if you must," Stede pats his chest. "I'd rather you not, of course, but if you can't help it-"

They both grunt as Izzy drops onto the bed.

"Will Ed tell us when the fort is done?" Stede yawns.

Izzy nods, and snuggles up next to him. "Might be a while."

"Good things are worth being patient for. Like this."

"Like what?"

"Like us, the three of us, together," Stede continues. "And blanket forts."

Izzy nods again, already half asleep.

"Morning," Ed sighs, suddenly up again, only to crash down on Stede's free side. "I'll finish it in the morning."

"It's morning now," Stede mumbles, but he doesn't protest when Ed nuzzles against him, and there's no thought of wanting to move from where they are.

The eventual blanket fort, he decides in his last conscious moment, will be where they recover later, when they can stay awake long enough to stand.

I fell asleep around like 9 pm and then woke up at 1 only to realize the album was out and I had to immediately listen. I have many thoughts, but I only compiled my thoughts on the ones that weren’t yet released.

• Are You There? - I think it’s a bop, but Jack’s friends rlly got Alex through that separation, so it’s kind of weird that he’s constantly bringing them up in a negative way. Like the drugs part is so obviously about them?

• Calm Down - Vocals!!! It SEEMS like it’s trying to be political in some type of way, but it’s vague. The “micro plastic submarine” was not something I expected, though.

• English Blood // American Heartache - Separation song, FULLY. I wish “fuck ‘til the pain don’t hurt” didn’t affect me like it did, bro. Also, “There's no changing who I was and you know exactly where I've been” yeah we knOW y’all are annoying.

• The Sound of Letting Go - Separation song x2 with “My best friend says I need to find something new” 👀 UM JALEX??? LISTEN TO JACK!!!! I like these songs better when I don’t think about what’s inspired them.

• New Religion - Horny bop, of course. I get the concept, but “your sweat is my holy water” is kinda gross lmfao. Anyway, I will be imagining this is about Jalex for obvious reasons. 😌 I like Teddy’s voice.

• The Way You Miss Me - This is literally Alex describing how toxic his and Lisa’s relationship is…..this is so annoying. I mean, I do like that he’s somewhat acknowledging it, but like??? Also callback to how the story ends. Regardless, I like how this song sounds. He just irritates me with how he KNOWS they’re ridiculous and he just doesn’t care???

• I’d Be Fine (If I Never Saw You Again) - I’m sure this is just another separation song. I do not like imagining lisex’s sex life and he just keeps making me do it. Also, if he’d be fine if he never saw her again, wtf is he doing with her again Jfc.

• Kill Ur Vibe - Now this is super duper separation song. Reminds me of when Alex was sad boy-ing and Lisa was just so happy on her farm with her creatures and going out with her rich friends for $400 wine. The last chorus made me 🙄

• The Other Side - omg not Alex mentioning Lisa’s secret boyfriend. Also, another callback to how the story ends. “I swear I died a thousand times” is a lyric I should love but 🙄 not when I know the context here. Like stfu.

• Lost Along the Way - Love the space imagery bc that’s so Alex’s brand. Also had me actually tapping my foot along, so I guess it’s a bop. The melody almost reminds me of basement noise.

#anyway at this point not my favorite album but I know it will grow on me #especially when I get over these songs being what I wanted but also not what I wanted #careful what you wish for I guess #tldr this would be much more fun if lisex hadn’t reconciled for the 80 millionth time #but now I’m going to go research which songs jack helped write to make myself feel better #I do like every single song though it’s too early to tell which one is my favorite #kalina talks

2. Did they have an official first date? If so, what was it like?

if by official, you mean it was official in OZ’S book, then yes!! (nobody is parent trap scheming harder than oz to get chrysigil together.. he will stop at nothing to have chrysi as his sister-in-law!!!) it also would up being an official first date when chrysi and gil figured it would be easier in the long run to stop fighting oz’s attempts to get them to be close together. and besides. they did end up bonding & making plans to go shopping early at the market.. flirting.. (oz screaming at gil bc that is NOT a romantic second date!! it shouldn’t be a date at all!!! i’m not making sense, i don’t think.)

ANYWAY, the date itself was going to a new tea house that oz had heard good reviews for. it took some finagling, but he convinced chrysi and gil, separately, that they needed to meet a client / informant there (?? not sure what the plan way, okay), and when they showed up, it was like. oh. well. i guess this is a date now.

oz left an itinerary at their reserved table, which was including, but not limited to, a museum outing, getting a rowboat trip around the lake, going to a botanical garden, a candlelit dinner, and then a walk home through an idyllic park. chrysi and gil wound up bonding over how fucking exhausted they were and how they prefer smaller things, like going on errands nd such. okay, date no. 2 is going to shop for groceries and date no. 3 will be laundry day <3

((important to note that at this point, chrysi’s only flirting w gil bc she feels safe in the assumption that he won’t fall for her, and gil doesn’t realize he has a massive crush on her. oz is tearing his hair out as we speak!! btw alice doesn’t care, bc chrysi’s already her sister.))

3. What was their first kiss like?

it was after gil knocked chrysi the FUCK out during a scuffle, and when she woke up, he worriedly tried to nurse her back to health. in the moment, she called him charming + pretty, and then she gave him a little peck on the lips. gil froze up and didn’t react. it was only after she left that he was like “wait, no, i want another kiss…” <- blushing FURIOUSLY. but unfortunately, he didn’t tell chrysi that and so she doubled down on the whole “safe to flirt because he won’t EVER fall for me” thing. oh boy.

7. What is their relationship with each other's families like?

so, like, disregarding the whole “baskerville clan trying to change time and the world by killing lacie at the beginning, before she got the chance to meet jack” thing, chrysi rlly rlly gets along w them. lottie is like her sister, and so is lily. and, i mean, alice is ALREADY her sister.

ummm, but she cannot stand vincent. fine by him!! he can’t stand chrysi either!!! he thinks that his brother should choose someone else. or no one at all. both chrysi and vince have actively been waging war behind gil’s back for the past 100 years.

hmmmmmmmmm. i mean,i think i’ll have to say chrysi on basis of the fact that she’s more consistent at comforting gil, but honestly?? gil doesn’t do too badly when it comes to comforting chrysi!!! chrysi will jst hold gil and say all the right things (and slightly un-right things, which make gil laugh when they shouldn’t) and kiss him. gil sits silently next to chrysi while he’s trying to figure out a plan for attack + he’s quiet for so long that it makes chrysi finally tell him what’s bothering her. then he’ll hug her, bc he learned frm her that she prefers that. physical touch is her main love language, indeed…

Just My opinions beware I don’t hold back✋🏼

Not even gonna speak about the Casino ladder match. The guy in the mask has to be max if it’s not fuck that match too.

First off, the elite winning the trios? Fuck off. I’m tired of Kenny Omega and the EVP’s giving themsleves belts. Dark order deserved that win. Page and his besties deserved that, but instead he’s gonna have to live with thinking he’s screwed up the match for Silver and Reynolds and I can’t go through that sadness guys.

Jade and Athena? Look I love Jade but I’m fucking tired of her and her reign. It’s boring. Its old and I’m over it. She’s making me feel how Charlotte flair made me feel. I could go on and on about how this is exactly how WWE treated Charlotte and now AEW is doing it to Jade. She’s TOO OP, she’s ran through all the women already so like??? Who’s gonna beat her?? Or is she just going to hold the title forever and be the undertaker 2.0 like let’s not do that yall I’m for Jade being a beast but for gods sake change it up already.

This match feels personal af and idk how to feel about it tbh like it’s hard hitting and just screams personal personal. Anyway, back to [“Huh. Didn’t think Techno would be down for prison labor.”] I laughed, very hard. [it’s a little fucked up, y’know?”] It’s good to see Tubbo being aware of how fucked the entire situation is, I think Wilbur might be starting to forget that a little (in his defence he’s pretty used to skipping past a lot of fucked up shit).

I’m already failing at doing this by character because I am Looking at Wilbur telling Tubbo he’s staying willingly and I just can’t help myself. It’s the wanting to be different, but having no proof thing again. He needs Tubbo to know that he’s different. That he has changed. Because he feels so different form who he was and he wants to be more than just the Pythia, so he needs to say something and change the image Tubbo has off him in his mind.

Poor Tommy, that wasn’t even the most terrifying thing to happen to him that day. Also, I give him a lot of shit for being an impulsive dumbass, but Wilbur is just as bad. Like he did not think ahead to have to explain himself further. It’s a good thing Tommy is so good at adapting. And he’s not technically lying, he’s just leaving out exhibit B.

Remember when I said Tommy was an impulsive shit? Yeah why would you tell him Wilbur could have left MULTIPLE TIMES?! Like it's because he’s still pissed about Tubbo suggesting killing him. He’s still trying to prove he’s not a threat. But don’t tell him Wilbur had the opportunity to be a threat multiple times. Like it works to convince him, but this is gossip land and you don’t want that to get back to Jack or Niki. Also, people would either get pissed at Tommy or Phil and Techno depending on who they think should have told them.

Anyway, Tubbo accepts that Wilbur is no longer a threat because they are all still alive and (skips straight over the fact that he had multiple opportunities to leave and nobody knew even though he should be mad about that) offers to have dinner together.

Also, for as much as Tommy pushes his own opinions, he still makes sure if Wilbur wants to eat with them (despite it being very obvious that he wants to ear with his friends and misses them). And I’d say this is the first real brother’s moment because Wilbur just looks at how excited Tommy is and gives in immediately.

I'm glad you laughed at that line I thought it was really funny and definitely something tubbo would say. I love writing tubbo's dialogue so I was very happy to get back into it with this chapter. and yeah, because tubbo is more of an 'outsider' to the situation (hasn't interacted with the pythia as much) he's still able to see just how fucked up the situation is, while wilbur, and by extension the people closest to him, are starting to lose perspective a bit

he needs to be different!! he desperately wants proof that he's changed as a person since he got there but he can't admit that to himself. he wants proof that he's not really the pythia anymore but also he can't not be the pythia because what else would he be??

literally wilbur and tommy are so well suited to each other bc they're both dumbasses

yeahhh that was a really dumb move on tommy's end. it did the job at convincing him, but really bad way to phrase it right off the bat. at least tubbo was able to accept that wilbur is no longer an immediate threat to them. he also is definitely pissed that no one mentioned the fact that he had a chance to leave several times now, but he just knew he wasn't really gonna get anywhere getting angry about it now and more than anything tubbo is tired of being pissed at tommy, just like how tommy's tired of being pissed at tubbo. the two of them are best friends. they miss each other and are overwilling to move past stuff they really shouldn't just to talk again

wilbur can't say no to tommy when he looks that excited... the little brother effect is working now

I'll guess I'll start out by saying that-

For a good while now, I've headcanoned that Juan has looked up to Jack Hammer since childhood (courtesy of @zarla-s and @bardic-feline)

In my own HC, Juan's parents took him to a convention when he was a kid, and since Jack starred in The Singing Samurai, his parents took him to a meet and greet. Juan didn't know the guy or that movie at the time and wasn't super interested, but they talked briefly and Jack said some encouraging things to Juan (who was primarily interested in a music career), and Juan was like !!!! and watched the movies he was in later and looked up to him ever since.

One of the big reasons he looked up to him is because of similar circumstances. Like Juan, Jack didn't grow up wealthy. Didn't grow up with one foot already in the door of the industry. He just had a dream and worked hard for it until he got his big break- which was really encouraging to little kid Juan.

Jack always thought of himself as a good guy. He'd treat people with respect (when he thought they deserved it), was kind to children, friendly with most people. Part of his reputation was earned by being a decent guy. He'd even consider it part of his career to take the extra mile (or half-mile) for those he networks with.

So when the accident happened, it hit him. Hard.

Dee was wrong- it wasn't on purpose. Sure, Manuel kept acting like Jack wasn't working hard enough on their fight scene- wasn't making it realistic enough, wasn't putting enough energy into the action, etc. And Jack, being a more experienced actor (in his opinion) and a more popular and successful one, felt irritated and spoken down to. So, yes, he made it a point to shove much harder. But he never meant to kill him. Didn't mean to even seriously injure him. It was an accident. A mistake.

He feels so numb and guilty that for a while, he just takes the punishment from Dee. Maybe he was never a good person, and he deserves what he's getting. All these low-paying villain roles he's been having to get into the mindsets of... maybe it's a good role for him. He's awful, terrible.

But after a while, that guilty mindset shifts slightly. And he feels a growing anger towards Dee. It was an accident, one that was traumatizing to him and he feels guilty about. He doesn't deserve to be treated like this. How dare she?

There have even been a few times that she's hinted that she may use her mafia connections to go after his loved ones. (Although she never did, the message was intentional. She wanted him to feel that fear, that pain. To have the threat of a beloved person ripped from him in turn.)

After a while, he starts to consider ending things by killing her, too. He's a monster (or so he's come to internalize), so what's one more dead body at his feet? But murder isn't exactly something he's ever entertained before. Didn't grow up thinking he'd have someone's blood on his hands. So he creates good excuses for himself as to why he should have it done.

She's part of the mafia, so perhaps killing her would save many others. She's hinted at threats towards his family and friends, so perhaps it's necessary.

But really, subconsciously his main reason is his anger and bitterness about how she's been treating him.

As for Will Powers... he doesn't hate him enough to actively want to ruin his life. He doesn't like the guy, though. Everything about Will always annoyed Jack. (Subconsciously, he reminds him of himself in some ways, and it's a painful reminder of all the promise he had when he was younger.)

But the blame has to be pinned on someone, and Will is the most convenient. The fact that he dislikes him so much and harbors so much bitterness towards him just makes it a little easier. If he doesn't pin the blame on him, then the mafia would likely get retribution by hurting Jack and those close to him.

Needless to say, Juan was... shaken to hear the news. Especially since he'd only recently begun to break into the business, and had gotten to briefly meet Jack again at an event only months prior.

I know that I said this before over a billion times but I’ll just say it again since this has been a year since the trial I want y’all(yes every single last one of you, heck even the aliens if they exist among us) to realize Tory had the opportunity to take a plea deal and serve no time. Megan lied to police to protect Tory immediately after he shot her, he slandered her in the blogs and so she decided to tell the truth to law enforcement.

The courts offered a plea deal, Tory threw it back in their face and dragged this out for years to keep the lie going and burned up his own money on legal fees and taxpayer dollars on a trial.

The courts gave bail, Tory used that time to torment and harass Megan which only hurt his case and was a key factor in his heavy sentencing when the day came.

At every single turn the goodwill of the universe/God offered this man an opportunity to save himself — and he laughed at it and sabotaged it. He could have owned up to his actions.

INSTEAD, he was so arrogant in the process bc he thought painting Megan as a liar on social media would hold up on trial. It backfired in the worst way possible.

He tormented her for three years and all that did in the end was made him look like a complete and total sociopath and narcissist who deserved every single day of those ten years in prison.

If you don’t believe that words matter and they don’t hurt then remember that his own words are the reason why he’s where he is and deserves to be

Words can hurt more than any weapon could and I don’t want to hear anything about words not mattering nor sticks and stones may break bones but words will never hurt me again
