these two are absolute sisters your honor

I won't deny that sagiri is beautiful like I swear have you seen her and the way she fights back despite men looking down on her and how she swings her sword? plus episode 6 highlighted her being able to balance her emotions, making her gently kill rokurota. ugh perfection. chef's kiss. 1000/10 rating.

but ya know I don't get why people have to be like "Sagiri is way prettier and hotter but too bad Gabi is not in love with her" like what do you mean too bad? like ???? idk if it's just me but does gabimaru have to appreciate her being hot or what? plus ya know gabi is not into the appearance anyways. he even said in the latest episode (which is episode 7 as of this writing) that appearances really don't matter.

plus I don't get why people love comparing yui and sagiri's physical appearance against each other and saying "this girl is prettier" yada yada when they are both best girls with distinct beauty. in fact, there is an interview with Chainsaw Man author Tatsuki Fujimoto about Hell's Paradise author Yuji Kaku where he discussed about drawing female characters. according to Fujimoto-sensei, Kaku-sensei always drew his female characters beautifully in an aesthethic manner and his reason behind this is bcos "all girls are cute regardless so we must always draw them as cute girls" (not exact quote but you get what I mean) that's why Fujimoto-sensei added he has been trying to draw his female characters as cute as possible. so yeah both sagiri and yui are cute and pretty or whatnot. they just exhibit different vibes like sagiri has major main female chara vibes while yui is def softcore cottagecore vibes 🥰🥰🥰

besides, no matter what people say, yui will still be the most beautiful person in gabimaru's eyes. he even said so in both manga and episode 7.

note: he used the word "utsukushii" for the term "beautiful" and in Japanese, using this term means you really find a person so beautiful inside and out that it moves you emotionally so the mere fact gabimaru described yui in this manner despite her telling him that she's ugly is something else 😭🥺💖

here's MY NOT SO CONTROVERSIAL TAKE on this one bcos you all know my answer.

it is no doubt that gabimaru can take on multiple wives. after all, gantetsusai mentioned he has multiple wives across japan. plus their time period allows men to marry multiple women so people making this statement knows what they are saying.

HOWEVER!

I actually don't think gabimaru will engage in this sort of thing (see, I told you my opinion on this is not controversial hehe) and here's why.

we all know that osa (aka iwagakure village chief) killed gabimaru's parents and took gabimaru in, even to a point where gabimaru literally lives in the village chief's home like some sort of special treatment.

however, I think one reason gabimaru got special treatment is bcos both of his parents are high-class shinobis (like jonin level) and ofc osa saw his potential that maybe "ah this kid might inherit his parents' ninja skills or something"

plus, osa doesn't have any sons to begin with bcos surprise surprise YUI HAS NEARLY 20 HALF SISTERS with her being the eighth daughter. and accdg to Kaku-sensei, there is a major possibility of yui and gabimaru meeting as children (but alas it is hard to tell since yui has so many sisters). and yes this is all mentioned in Jigokuraku Kaitai Shinsho (pls someone translate this huhu)

so when tsuki (the toasted marshmallow gabimaru that we know) became the 58th gabimaru by killing the 57th gabimaru, he was rewarded for his skills and intellect by marrying yui. but the thing is, it's a common talk among iwagakure ninjas that osa has been looking for a successor and bcos he doesn't have a son, the only choice is to have gabimaru marry into his family (which is common in Japan)

fun fact: gabimaru actually doesn't know why he was married to yui though. he even thought maybe yui has some kind of secret ninjutsu or something. he tried to find out but this boy went home and when yui greeted him with a beaming smile, he was immediately overwhelmed with feelings that he forgot his own agenda 😭😭😭

so what's the point of all this? you see gabimaru has never realized why yui was so adamant abt this sense of normalcy and all that stuff until he finally learned the meaning behind her dream. after all, in iwagakure, when a man is born, he automatically has to be a ninja and a woman has to get pregnant and bear more children that will become ninjas. and if they die during training, then they'll be replaced by another batch of offsprings that will be ninjas or vessels for children.

in short: women in iwagakure are not only beaten, but also treated as baby-making factories (ofc some of them become kunoichis but most of them just become a housewife that takes care of dozen babies). doesn't matter how young or old. as long as you can get pregnant, then you go do your duty for iwagakure. hence why yui loathed this kind of set up and when she voiced out her want for normalcy, she paid the price by having her face scarred.

but what if a girl doesn't get pregnant? ahh then the guy will take another wife, get her pregnant, then process repeat and repeat. it's a cruel cycle that never ends.

in osa's case, it took him like so long before finally accepting his wives cannot give him a son. and in my own opinion, these things can influence gabimaru into not having a harem marriage in the first place. like imagine marrying multiple women just for the sake of a duty.

besides, given how bad he's down for yui, I don't think he would want another woman other than her. like srsly gabimaru has so much respect for her and having a harem marriage would defeat every single thing he and yui are fighting for.

after all, gabimaru hates the idea of women being treated as broodmares. remember, his wife has been "marked" for the same reason. like he really abhors the idea and there are theories of yui being possibly pressured into having children with gabimaru and tbh it all boils down into this canon evidence from the manga.

plus I hate it when people normalize cheating like "gabi might cheat with sagiri" or something like srsly? I thought we were all past NTR and all that stuff? if you are into NTR kinks, there are various media forms that can cater to that and sadly, Hell's Paradise is not the medium for NTR as much as these people want it to be.

He kind of waited for the feeling to go away at first, praying that it would, but now he knows he’s helpless against it. He could never not love Steve. He never had a chance of not falling in love with him either.

If only he could find a way to tell him, in a way that doesn’t scare the shit out of Steve, or himself. He hasn’t figured it out yet. So until he does, he tries his best to hide it. He thinks he’s pretty successful, hiding it from Steve at least. Not so successful in hiding it from everyone though, judging from the looks Mrs Rogers gives him sometimes.

He tries to hide it by going out, going dancing with another girl every weekend.

He tries to ignore the fluttering feeling in his stomach when Steve asks him if he can just stay - when Steve’s hiding out at his house, just so he doesn’t have to face his mom after getting into another fight (when he promised her not to).

He tries to stop himself from reaching out and smoothing out the wrinkles on his forehead when Steve unavoidable gets angry with something or someone. Tries to not let the overwhelming feeling of love floor him each and every time Steve gets passionate about standing up for what’s right.

He tries to hold back confessions of love when he’s huddled together with Steve on his small cot, as Steve is burning up with another fever or shaking from the cold, instead pressing closer under the guise of trying to comfort him. He tries to keep his prayers to please not take Steve from him to a whisper, because he’s sure he’d give himself away in an instant if anyone heard his pleas.

He tells himself it’s okay. They’re just good friends, will be the best of friends, until the end of the line. He shouldn’t want more. But god, he does.

He tries so hard to not let it all break his heart.

Until one day, he stops trying. Steve’s sitting on Bucky’s bed, knees pulled up to his chest, angry tears running down his face. They moved in together a couple of months ago, after Steve’s mom died. It’s been hell on Bucky’s ability to hold himself back. But he has, until now.

It’s not like Steve to cry over another failed date. Bucky doesn’t get why he’s so upset, so he asks.

“It’s just…you’re gonna find someone and I’m gonna be on my own, like I always have been, and always will be,” Steve croaks out, dropping his knees down and angrily wiping his face. “Why are you even here? You should be out with Lizzie having fun, instead of at home with me,” he redirects fury at himself for being emotional about this at Bucky.

But he’s never gonna let Steve push him away. “Because I want to be here, with you, punk,” he says, sitting down on the bed beside Steve. “And don’t you say that. Don’t you say that you’re alone, always have been. We promised, didn’t we? Until the end of the line?”

Steve looks sufficiently chastised. “Yeah, till the end of the line Buck,” he murmurs back, a little sheepish.

They sit side by side silently for a while. Maybe, maybe this could be the moment, Bucky thinks.

“You know, I don’t even know if that’s for me. Settling down with a girl, the whole picket fence thing you apparently have imagined for me.”

Steve looks up at him, a frown on his face. “Why not? You deserve that.”

Bucky sighs. “I just…I don’t think that’s what I want. What I want I don’t…I don’t think I can have,” he says, swallowing heavily. Why is this so hard?

When Steve doesn’t say anything, Bucky glances back at him, and what he sees overwhelms him a bit. There’s confusion on his face, sure, but also something he thinks is hope. “What-what do you think you can’t have?” Steve asks in a whisper, large blue eyes staring so intensely at Bucky he feels like they can see right through him, into his soul.

He swallows heavily again, carefully reaching out with his hand to rest his on Steve, waiting for him to pull away.

“I- I don’t know how to…” he trails off, closing his eyes. Maybe it’s now or never, and if he doesn’t, he’ll regret it for the rest of his sorry life. “You’re never gonna be alone Stevie, because I’m always gonna be there. Even if I can’t …if I can’t have you,” he says, holding his breath, waiting for the warmth of Steve’s hand to pull away from his, waiting for Steve to be angry, to leave, or worse.

None of that happens. Steve leaves his hand right where it is, turning around to face Bucky more - he knows because he can feel the thin mattress dip, not because he sees it, he can’t bear to look Steve in the face right now.

“Oh Buck,” Steve sighs, “please look at me?”

It takes everything in him to do as Steve asks, and when his grey blue eyes meet Steve’s blue green ones, there’s nothing even resembling disgust in them, only joy.

Steve turns his hand around so he can intertwine their fingers. “Jesus christ, I thought I was gonna go insane, thinkin’ I was just imagining it all,” Steve says, and he’s laughing, and it’s the most beautiful thing Bucky’s ever seen. “Of course Bucky, of course you can have me. ‘ve always been yours.”

That’s the moment Bucky stops holding back entirely, practically throwing himself at Steve, kissing him with all that he has. It’s clunky at first, a lot of teeth, because neither of them can stop laughing - they’re a little delirious, too giddy and relieved and happy. But eventually it slows down into something softer, and it’s all he’s been waiting for, all he’s been yearning for. It’s everything.

Rio talked about a lot of things in their little moments of peace together, about his time with the rev army, the people he met long his travels, his captain; Kata was one of the only people he could vent to in his little canary cage, after all - Law and his crew were thrown in here and there

So going into it, he has some idea of what kind of person Law is, even if through Rio’s (correct) dweeb accusations and vague threats of what he’d do to him if that “punk” hurt his captain while he was gone

Actually meeting though, given that they’re not in a life or dead situation, it might be a little awkward - namely because I’m not sure if they’d have that many overlaps in interests

Both their personalities, or at least what they pretend is their personalities to the general public, lean into the “cool, stoic” types that brood in the corner away from anything fun, so I’m thinking any early interaction they’d have would probably fall into that

Law doesn’t think much of Kata at first, or rather not a lot about him, like “oh, another one ally from Kiri-ya’s side, ok”

Is Law surprised at all that Luffy also had something to do with fundamentally helping changing the viewpoints of someone who could once be considered an enemy to them? No, are they still mildly amused and god forbid they’d ever admit it to anyone proud? Yeah, maybe a little 

They’re both powerful pirates in their own rites with fearsome reputations but aside from that what are they gonna talk about, the weather? Lmao with what social skills

Once they’re a little more comfortable around each other though, probably with Kirin to break the ice or Rio picking a fight with Law that gradually fizzles into a regular chat because they’re both great greasing the conversation I can see them having small talks here and there

It’s nothing big and never lasts too long but it’s a start, eventually they’d talk about just things on their mind, inconsequential stuff that doesn’t matter but it feels nice to air out anyway, and sometimes it’s just nice sitting in silence next to one another knowing that there’s no pressure to have to talk, that just each other’s company is enough

I’m thinking of when we talked about Katakuri building/running little model trains and god Law and Kata would go HARD for their hyperfixations

They take turns explaining things at first, but once something gets the ball rolling on Law’s Sora lore (literally just mentioning it) or Kat’s little steam engines (back and forth questions make him SO happy that someone’s listening in and taking note of his interests) - they kind of end up talking over each other at times and circling back to different branches of ideas because they’re going on so many tangents because they’re so excited to infodump to someone who’s actively and enthusiastically participating

You know they’re 100% combining interests and coming up with pages worth of additional Sora lore on how trains were actually a huge part of that lil comic world because they were funded by Germa to privately transport eeeevil supplies and now there’s an entire arc dedicated to it in Law’s canon for it

For a gift exchange once Kata gave Law a wooden model train painted with the Germa 66 colors and Law give Kat a teddy (Katakuri sized, so it was like as tall as them) dressed as a little train conductor, both handmade, they then both proceeded not to feel anything at all like “real, manly men” were supposed to

(Law was faced down on his bed for an hour and Katakuri was hesitant at first but once he held Mr. Walter Puffington III, Rio had to convince him to put the plush away after two consecutive nights in a row of being the third wheel to it when he went to bed)

Lastly I absolutely do not think that these two can smile on command, like if they’re put on the spot, leaning more to Kata’s end but also looking at Law’s first bounty poster?? Hello sir why do you look evil????

They try, they really do, but more often than not it kind of just looks a little stiff if not uncomfortable for them to hold their faces in that position; Kirin and Rio still absolutely adore them either way, Rio’s kissing all over Kata’s face and his teefies, and Kirin’s got Law in a vice, laughing and smooching all over his ‘adorable’ mushroom while Law tries to fight his way out, conveniently forgetting that he has the ability to shambles away

Plus, all this means is that when Kata and Law do smile without realizing that they are, and it’s sweet and endearing even if a little awkward sometimes and god damn it Kirin and Rio are on the floor (internally, for the latter, he has some reputation to keep up, after all Kirin’s just a gay bitch in love)

Bonus:

I think Law would (secretly) find Maren’s style cool and if those two had to do their own things in the same room together they’d be able to vibe in the silence for a while like he/they bitches do but for the love of god once Maren opens his mouth with teasing intent it’s all over Law’s spending at least an hour faced down in Kirin tiddy to decompress and recharge, no bully them he’s trying their best >:’c

this silena edit! have you ever seen an edit so beautiful you cried? bc same. this is... no thoughts head empty, absolutely stunning! from the textures to the pictures and text, everything looks incredible! im super in love with the coloring, it’s so soft and it truly makes you think “yeah, she’s the daughter of aphrodite”. the second frame might be my favourite because of the way the text looks! i love the outer glow effect on both the text and the “mirror” (not a mirror, but the sky thingy idk could be a mirror), it ties everything together.

special shoutout to this tkak edit! since the style is kinda similar! i LOVE the text inside the mirror, it looks so cool, and with the outer glow too!! i guess i just like mirrors... but you found a really nice way to actually use the space both mirrors provided, and i really like that. also. coloring legend!!!

this hazel edit! first of all, big fan of the coloring! the torn paper texture looks really cool and i like the ripped part in the first frame. also really like the text placement, it’s not too much text and doesnt overwhelm the edit, but adds to the minimalist aesthetic. the dots on the second frame too! and i dont even think i wanna know how long it took to crop that horse, but it looks really good.

this manon edit! i don’t go here, but thiS!! EDIT!!! omg!!! at this point we know im a sucker for dark edits, so there’s no surprise i like this one so much. but what really fascinates me is the usage of textures!!! i love the smokey one in the first frame, it looks very ~mysterious~ and it creates a bit of a horror-esque aesthetic? also the moon!!! the moon looks dope, i love how you overlapped the blood and the person; also the fact that you can’t see her eyes adds to the mystical aesthetic.

this renee edit! i love. her and this. i’ve seen that picture of the girl used for renee before, but the way you cropped it and how you added textures and the background/text is so unique i wouldn’t even think it’s the same picture. the text placement in this edit is impeccable, especially on the last frame (++ i love the quote you chose!). i also really like when people make darker edits for renee for some reason, so this one is definitely a fave of mine overall.

this gopaf edit! DO YOU SEE WHAT YOU DID HERE??? ARE YOU AWARE OF HOW STUNNING THIS IS??? spare. some. talent. even like. a teaspoon of talent, pleASE 😭 it’s such a complex edit, so so many elements to it, but it still doesnt look like too much?? i love the red and blue colour scheme, especially the shade of blue you chose cause it kinda balances the brightness of the red? does that make sense idk!! also! the t e x t looks insane!!!! OH OH AND!! the way you made her look like she’s on fire or like she’s MADE out of fire!!! that’s also so damn cool!!!

another special shoutout to this renee edit! cause i spent a long time trying to find it! it has the coolest coloring and it’s one of my favourite poster edits cause it’s really simple, but it really makes me think about renee! big fan of the pink/blue combo, looks cool!!!

Hello and welcome back!!

It was so much fun!! I'm so glad I went and got to enjoy with some of my best friends☺️ it's a boardgame convention! So there were boardgames galore that you could try out and buy, and people cosplaying (there was a contest for that I wish I saw), there were larping events and places to buy that stuff, anime booths, a magic the gathering tournament and a ton of other different booths! It was awesome too because it wasn't just some of the big names that everyone knew but really tiny companies and indie developers too. I bought a boardgame called Fire Tower, never heard of it until I was at the booth, but it's so much fun and easy to play! Same with a game called Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza😂 played it with my group and random people and had the time of my life. I haven't laughed that hard in so long. I can't wait to go next year and go to more conventions🥰

I'll make sure weather never hurts you again, and when it comes back that it'll be nice to you about it😡😡😡yeah it's supposed to rain all week here too and get a bit cold these coming days but I don't mind because I love wearing hoodies and flannels🥰 but staying in bed all cozy is always a solid plan! God I wish that were me this morning😭 I slept super late last night and had to get up early, fell asleep multiple times at work and just got up from a two hour nap that was initially supposed to be a half hour😂 but it could have been worse. Flaked on some errands because I was so tired from work but there's always tomorrow!
