@circus-clangen has been one of my favorite clangen challenges to follow. If not my favorite. (I follow on my main, Snailldragon btw. Just to avoid confusion)
The puzzles are really cool and unique, and the humanization of the design while them still being cats is really cool. So I wanted to do a piece of fan art for it.
Tumblr media
I hope I captured the vibes right. I thought about going in with some intense shading, but didn’t want to overcrowd it.
Also, not an original character for Circusclan, but bonus art of Bravestar in the sort of designs they do/circus-clan vibes because I haven’t drawn her in forever and I really miss her.
Tumblr media
I’ve been calling this version of her Braveact :). She likes bells.
I also made her red instead of orange so she didn’t look too much like Tigertoe lol

Romance and fluff blast!! @maraariana01 made the ITP: Happy Ending AU!!
Title: The Charming Rabbit+A Strange & New Feeling
Spring Bonnie had gone out to collect some groceries for his family. It wasn’t the first time he had done so, so he knew his way to and from the building. Although today, it seemed like his shopping would get a little more interesting.
He’d finished paying for what he needed, and made his way outside through the sliding exit doors. It seemed like, from the list he had gotten, that they didn’t need too much this time.
Admittedly, Spring Bonnie had been... a little distracted. He’d been thinking about his son. The previous day, there’d been a parent-teacher conference, and the bunny had gone to it with his son.
It hadn’t been the first time, no—it was actually the third. It hadn’t happened the last two times, but yesterday, the two of them had a little meeting with Dylan—the boy that bullied Oswald.
He didn’t know what Dylan had whispered to his son, but whatever it was, it seemed to have upset him. Before Spring Bonnie had the chance to do anything, he had been pulled inside for the meeting.
When it had been over—with it taking about thirty minutes in total—he tried to find the boy or his parents to have a little word, but didn’t have any luck. Oswald hadn’t told him yet what had been whispered.
“Oof-!” The bunny heard someone exclaim when the two of them collided. Spring Bonnie stumbled back, while whoever he accidentally ran into seemed to have fallen down—if the sound of something hitting the ground wasn’t enough to realize.
He didn’t know yet who he’d bumped into, but the bunny hoped that they were okay—he should’ve been paying more attention—he should’ve been looking ahead. Spring Bonnie knew it could hurt to hit metal... were they okay?
The bunny looked around, and quickly spotted who he had ran into, who was already beginning to get back up. Spring Bonnie stared for a moment in surprise. Who it was hadn’t been a human.
Instead, whoever they were happened to be a rather tall, orange rabbit—but not exactly an animatronic like how Spring Bonnie himself was—instead, the orange rabbit was more of a regular suit or costume.
Spring Bonnie hurriedly moved closer to the rabbit, all while also scribbling down something on his notepad that he had taken out. “Sorry!”
The orange rabbit stared at the yellow bunny—and rabbit’s eyes seemed to practically light up. “Oh! I never expected... I didn’t think I’d ever see another rabbit around here!” He sounded excited.
“It’s fine, don’t worry!” The rabbit quickly added with a wave of his gloved hand. Spring Bonnie noticed that the rabbit had two cymbals with him, as well as wearing a black top hat, a bow-tie with polka-dots, and a white and black vest.
The orange rabbit stared as the yellow bunny started to write again, before showing the notepad to him. “I’m Spring Bonnie.” He introduced himself.
The rabbit reached over, grabbing the bunny’s hand, and shook. He grinned excitedly. “Spring Bonnie?” The rabbit repeated, “Got a nice ring to it! The name’s Ralpho!”
Ralpho.
...
The encounter with the orange rabbit—Ralpho—had happened on a Tuesday. Today, it was a Friday, and Oswald had just gotten out of school, being picked up by the bunny.
At his son’s request, Spring Bonnie drove to the library. He knew his son liked to read—maybe the building would have some of the newer books that Oswald had been talking about recently.
Just as Spring Bonnie hopped out of the car, and started walking towards the door with Oswald, the bunny’s ears twitched, and he turned. Approaching, but seemingly not noticing him yet, was Ralpho.
“Spring Bonnie?” Oswald looked up at him, and then turned to look at what his animatronic father seemed to be staring at.
Ralpho, originally having been staring at the ground as he walked, looked up. When he did, just like the last encounter, the orange rabbit’s eyes seemed to light up—it was clear that he was rather glad to not be the only one.
“Spring, hello!” Ralpho called out with a wave, picking up his pace to get to the two. Oswald was confused. They know each other?
By the time Ralpho reached them both—in which the two both looked somewhat pleasantly surprised to see the other—Oswald figured that this would take a while.
So, as Ralpho began to say something else, Oswald made his way into the library—although he didn’t go all that far—he figured Spring Bonnie would want to see him and not panic.
...
The next time Spring Bonnie ran into the orange rabbit—on Tuesday—had also been when he hadn’t expected it. He’d been with Thomas. The two of them had been in the park together.
For the first half, it had just been the animatronic and human father—until, that is, Spring Bonnie noticed a familiar rabbit laying down on the ground—it seemed like he was stargazing.
“And-“ Thomas would’ve continued, but he noticed how the bunny seemed rather distracted. He didn’t notice the rabbit. “...What’s up?”
Spring Bonnie glanced at Thomas for a moment, before holding up a finger, and walking off to meet up with the rabbit that he kept running into.
It seemed like Ralpho hadn’t been expecting him—if the reaction he got meant anything. Upon reaching the stargazing rabbit, Spring Bonnie crouched, and tapped his arm.
Ralpho shot up, his eyes opening—which, to Spring Bonnie, either meant that he was sleeping (could Ralpho do that, unlike him?) and he’d just woken the rabbit up, or he was simply relaxing. Ralpho clashed his cymbals as he sat up.
“Wh- Spring!” The rabbit joyfully exclaimed, his tail seeming to wag for a moment or two. Spring Bonnie waved. “You- how can you be so silent when walking, buddy??”
Spring Bonnie shrugged. He didn’t think he was all that silent—he had assumed Ralpho had heard him approaching a few moments before.
Placing his cymbals aside, Ralpho patted the spot beside him. “C’mon, Spring, sit down.” He went back to looking up at the sky, but the rabbit’s gaze kept returning to the bunny.
Spring Bonnie nodded, and sat down beside him. He’d never stargazed before, although the bunny had heard of it once or twice before. Now that he was actually looking... it was rather beautiful.
“So! What brings ya out here, Spring??” He heard the orange rabbit ask him. Spring Bonnie took out his notepad.
...
Spring Bonnie looked around. To the far right of him, there was Thomas, sitting on a bench. He seemed to be using his phone—the bunny’s best guess was that he was talking with his wife.
With how dark it was, he normally wouldn’t have been able to even really see Thomas—but, the bunny could see in the dark. Could Ralpho?
“-I used to work at this camp,” Ralpho kept talking, and Spring Bonnie turned back to focus on him. “It was called Camp Etenia! I was there for a long time, doing Bunny Call’s in the early mornings.”
Bunny Call’s? Spring Bonnie tilted his head.
“And it was really great! But...” Ralpho sighed, a slight frown appearing on him. His ears seemed to go down. “Eventually, it closed. I still don’t know why, though. It was doing so well!”
The bunny continued to listen. He reached over, and put a hand on the rabbit’s shoulder. “After I lost my job, after it closed down, everything was so boring! So, I’ve been trying to find something new to do. And... I eventually made my way here.”
He leaned against Spring Bonnie, glancing up at him. “What about you?” The rabbit questioned.
“I came out of a time-traveling ball-pit.”
Ralpho stared at the writing on the notepad, and then back up at the bunny. “Really??” The bunny nodded.
“Well, c’mon then, Spring! Tell me more about that!” The rabbit had never thought much about time-travel.
...
“Spring Bonnie,” The two heard Thomas call out. It was darker than it had been previously. Although the bunny and the rabbit had barely noticed that.
“We should get going,” Thomas added, now off of the bench, and approaching the two, although he was being careful—watching where he stepped.
Spring Bonnie stood up, putting his notepad and pen back into one of his coat pockets. He started making his way over to the man. “Spring!”
He glanced back at Ralpho, who’d also gotten up, picking up his cymbals. “See you later?” He asked.
Spring Bonnie nodded, smiling.
...
Oswald, Jackie, and Thomas all had moments involving the two that they could remember, and shared with each other. Especially Oswald. In the past month, the two had been visiting a lot.
Which, made sense. The first three times, the two hadn’t been actively searching for the other, wanting to meet up—it was all more of a surprise meeting. But, now, that was what the two were doing.
Most of the visits and chats happened elsewhere, but with one of the more recent ones, Ralpho had been invited to the house. Oswald was surprised with how much the rabbit could talk.
“I’ve seen his tail wagging,” Oswald commented, taking a bit of his breakfast. He saw his mom nod in agreement.
She’d seen that, and she’d seen both Spring Bonnie’s and Ralpho’s eyes—it still reminded her of an excited cat in a way—like with Jinx. Jackie just thought that it was all sweet.
Oswald had watched Spring Bonnie leave a few moments before he came down to eat breakfast. He’d learned from his father that the bunny was going out to get a few things.
“I’ve seen it with both of them,” Thomas replied, swallowing some bacon. He’d heard some of Ralpho’s comments about a camp, and it sounded somewhat familiar to the man.
“Well,” Jackie smiled, “He’s happy because of him- that’s clear. And that’s good.”
...
Spring Bonnie had been in the middle of watching a newer rom-com that Jackie had rented. She was in the middle of something, so he settled on watching it alone—Oswald and Thomas still didn’t like them.
“Spring Bonnie?” He heard his son’s voice from beside him, and turned. But when the bunny did so, that was when he noticed some of the liquid fall onto the floor. I’m leaking? He hadn’t noticed—he’d been really focused on the rom-com.
Oswald was staring at him, frowning. “You’re leaking... are you okay?” With the extent of how much he was, the young boy knew to typically associate that with the bunny being sad... or angry.
The first instant that he could recall was back when he’d been saving his dad—his human one—after he’d gotten bitten by the bunny. It had been a surprising sight. And he usually saw him leaking out of anger usually when he was in danger.
Although, Oswald didn’t think that the bunny was leaking out of sadness or anger—he didn’t seem like how he normally did with either option. The bunny’s eyes were perfectly fine. He seemed fine at a first glance. He wasn’t unhinging his jaw.
Spring Bonnie nodded, although he himself was a little unsure of why this was happening—of course the bunny knew the typical reasons for it happening, too. “I’m fine.” He wrote.
Oswald moved closer, ignoring the rom-com playing, and sat beside his animatronic father. “Well, w-“ The boy started, leaning against the bunny... only to quickly recoil.
Spring Bonnie glanced at his son, confused. “What’s wrong?” The bunny quickly wrote down.
“You... you’re really hot.” Oswald replied. The boy had seen the leaking, yet he was sure that the bunny hadn’t suddenly been hot like this before. What was wrong?
At first, the bunny had still been rather confused... but after a moment or two, he began to feel it, too. The bunny frowned, and began to think.
He’d seen Oswald sick before. When his son had been sick, his eyes were rather teary a lot of the time—and when he had checked the boy’s forehead, it had been hot.
Spring Bonnie scribbled something down. “Could we go see Jackie?”
Oswald nodded, getting off of the couch. He wasn’t sure if his mom would be able to help, but he guessed that it was at least worth a try. What else could they do?
Spring Bonnie stood up a moment later, and followed after his son. Before he got out of the room, he paused the rom-com, so that he wouldn’t miss out on anything while he was gone.
...
“Mom?” Jackie turned when she heard her son’s voice. He was standing in the doorway, Spring Bonnie beside him.
“What is it, honey?”
While wiping at his eyes in hopes of just getting the liquid on his coat, rather than the floor again, Spring Bonnie started to write. Jackie moved closer.
“I think I’m sick.”
Jackie frowned, and glanced at her son. “I... I don’t even know if it’s possible for animatronics to,” He replied—but maybe it was with Spring Bonnie, at least. He was different than a normal one.
“But he’s been leaking like that,” He continued, they all knew the typical reasons, “and... he’s really hot all of a sudden. I don’t know what could be going on with him.”
Oswald hoped that it wasn’t anything serious, if he truly was sick or something. If he was, he wasn’t sure if any people—like his mom—would know how to help him. Would it be the same as when a person got sick? Maybe it would eventually pass.
“He’s hot?” Jackie looked back up at Spring Bonnie, who shifted nervously. She lifted a hand up, and placed it on the bunny’s head. Her frown grew when she started to feel the heat.
She pulled her hand away. “What do you think could be wrong with him, mom?”
“I don’t know, honey.” Jackie sighed. Spring Bonnie’s ears lowered, and he messed with the end of one of his sleeves for a moment.
“Spring Bonnie,” He looked up when he heard her say his name, and tilted his head. “Why don’t you lay down and rest?” Jackie suggested, “I’ll... I’ll try to find something that can help.”
With a nod, Spring Bonnie left the room to do just that. Jackie pulled her son into a hug. “Oswald, I’m sure he’ll be fine.” She tried to comfort him.
...
There was a repeated process. The leaking and the heat would stop. Everything seemed normal. And then it would all start again—sometimes it would only be the leaking—other times only the heat.
Spring Bonnie didn’t understand why it was happening—he didn’t think the others did, either. What was the cause for it?
It seemed rather random. A few of the times, like the first time, had involved him simply watching a movie—he’d be thinking—and then he’d realize that one or both of the symptoms were happening.
Other times, it happened right after a visit with Ralpho. Why? The first instance of this, the two of them had been hanging out at the park, and right after Spring Bonnie started heading back home—moments after the two separated—it started.
Three times at this point, the leaking and heat had actually started while he was actively hanging out with the orange rabbit—and he noticed each time.
Spring Bonnie shifted his position on the couch, a hand on the side of his face as he thought. What was wrong with him? Why did it keep happening so much?
The bunny wanted to get to the bottom of this.
...
It had been nearly two months. Spring Bonnie would’ve loved to be visiting with Ralpho—the rabbit was so nice—but he couldn’t. For some time, he hadn’t seen the rabbit.
Where was he? Had something happened?
Spring Bonnie was laying out on the couch, vaguely paying attention to the rom-com that was playing. He’d seen this one countless times—this was the eighteenth one, if he remembered correctly.
During the couple of times that Ralpho had been to the house, Spring Bonnie had gotten to watch some films with him—some that Oswald had suggested, while others were typically rom-coms.
Ralpho seemed to enjoy them enough, which made the bunny happy. He’d made a mental note to invite Ralpho over so that the two of them and Jackie could try to watch something together. That hadn’t happened yet, though.
For some time, he hadn’t thought too much of Ralpho being around—he figured the rabbit was simply busy. And maybe he still was. Whether the two were purposefully looking for each other, or it happened all of a sudden, it was always easy to find the rabbit.
Now that the rabbit knew where the house was, it was somewhat more easier for everything to happen.
Although, the bunny hadn’t managed to spot Ralpho at all in over two months. A part of Spring Bonnie didn’t want to be too worried—since he still figured that the rabbit could be busy—but another part felt worried—what if something happened?
He hoped he’d see the rabbit again—he missed him.
...
Oswald stepped out of the school doors, managing to slip past Dylan, who he had heard mention his name, although he hadn’t seemed to have noticed him.
He knew his dad was going to be a little late picking him up from school today, so the boy was going to have to wait for a bit.
Just as he was about to reach into his bag, planning on simply drawing while waiting, Oswald glanced to the right of him, and noticed something. Or, well, someone.
A familiar orange rabbit. He seemed to be wandering, but Oswald knew that the rabbit knew his way around this area—a couple of times, Ralpho had actually accompanied Spring Bonnie in picking him up.
Ralpho looked around, before his eyes fell onto Oswald. The rabbit approached him. While others were somewhat surprised to see him, others had gotten used to seeing both the orange rabbit and the fatherly bunny around town.
Once he reached Oswald, the rabbit knelt a little. “Heya, Oz!” Ralpho smiled, “Good to see ya! I was wondering, is Spring gonna be t-“
“No,” Oswald interrupted as he noticed his dad’s car starting to approach. “But you should come with us, I think. Please?”
...
Spring Bonnie had just gotten finished with vacuuming when his son and Thomas returned. He gave a little wave to Oswald when the boy entered, and went to feed Jinx.
A few seconds had passed, before he heard a knocking sound coming from the front door. Tilting his head, the bunny approached after setting the vacuum down, and opened it.
He stared, starting to feel his tail wag, although he barely paid that attention—instead, it was put onto the orange rabbit that was standing there.
“Hey, Spring!” Ralpho waved with a grin, and the bunny saw a movement behind him for a second—his best guess was that the rabbit’s tail was doing the same.
“Sorry that I- huh-?” The rabbit had started to continue, only for him to be pulled into a hug by the bunny—it was a rather gentle one, but that wasn’t much of a surprise. He could feel his feet leave the ground, though.
“Aw... you missed me that much, Spring?” Ralpho giggled, a faint blush appearing, and despite his surprise from being lifted off the ground, returned the hug. Both of their tail’s continued to wag.
As the bunny nodded, Ralpho moved his head, lowering his ears as he rested it underneath Spring Bonnie’s chin.
...
The two of them were sitting on the couch, Spring Bonnie having chosen to play a rom-com that he figured Ralpho would enjoy.
As Spring Bonnie lay against the back of the couch, Ralpho was sprawled out, part of him laying in the bunny’s lap—who didn’t seem to mind.
“What happened?”
As the notepad containing the words was placed back beside the bunny, Ralpho sighed. “Wellll, I... probably should’ve told you before I left,” He’d forgotten, “But I went back to Camp Etenia! I managed to get back there... just to see it again for a while.”
“The place you originally worked at?”
Ralpho nodded. “Where I would do a Bunny Call, yeah,” He nodded. “I guess I just missed it, Spring. I worked there for so long, but... I guess it was also like... my home, too.”
“I still don’t understand why it even closed,” The rabbit quietly added.
Scribbling. The rabbit looked back up when he saw something in front of him. “More stories from time there?” Then, he added, “I like hearing your stories.”
Ralpho grinned. Then, he nodded. “Sure!”
...
Jackie was in the middle of handing Oswald his breakfast when the bunny entered the kitchen. He seemed nervous. “I think I’m getting more sick.”
“What makes you say that?” The nurse questioned, setting the plate down in front of her son, who was more focused on the bunny at the moment.
“Getting worse... the symptoms. More things.”
Jackie set the bunny down in one of the kitchen table’s chairs. “Why don’t you tell me these symptoms?”
With a nod, Spring Bonnie began writing everything down—what he’d been feeling, what had been going on, everything. Jackie and Oswald didn’t say anything yet.
After he finished writing everything, Jackie and Oswald looked at it all in silence. Spring Bonnie nervously waited, staring down at the table, as one of his fingers tapped against it.
“Spring Bonnie..” He heard Jackie, and looked back at her. And once he did, he noticed how she was smiling—Oswald was, too. “None of this is because you’re sick.”
Spring Bonnie tilted his head to the side.
“It’s because you’re in love!”
“You have a crush on him!”
The bunny blinked, his ears going up. He was already rather hot, but he felt himself start to heat up further.
...
It was just Spring Bonnie in the house—besides Jinx. Thomas and Jackie were off at work, while Oswald had been dropped off at school a couple of hours ago.
He was pacing around. He was in love? He had a crush on Ralpho? What was he going to do? Should he tell the rabbit? How should he tell him? Would it go well?
The bunny groaned.
...
Over the next week, Spring Bonnie continued to think it all over. The bunny had never had a crush before. He’d seen a lot of rom-coms, and the confessions and such in those always seemed... so easy.
As the bunny continued to think, he felt someone tap his shoulder, and he nearly jumped. He turned, looking at Ralpho, who was standing in the grass beside him.
The bunny tilted his head as the rabbit pointed up at the night sky, grinning. “Ever heard of constellations, Spring?”
Spring Bonnie nodded, trying to look exactly where Ralpho was pointing.
“I think that one looks like you.”
...
Spring Bonnie had made up his mind on what he had wanted to do. Although, he’d nearly forgotten to actually suggest the idea to Ralpho—remembering right before he left.
He reached over towards the rabbit, who was turning away—and as he tapped Ralpho’s shoulder, he turned back around. “Hm?”
“Want to go to the park later? When it gets a little darker—that’s always nice.”
Ralpho, almost instantly, nodded. “Yeah, ‘course! It is.” He agreed, before turning back around. “See ya later, Spring!”
Spring Bonnie watched as he left, before letting out a breath that he didn’t need, nor did he realize that he’d been holding in. That was at least one part he managed to do.
Now, there were a few more things that he needed to do before they met up...
...
Ralpho silently chuckled to himself, grinning as he separated from the bunny. He had an idea.
...
“I’m sure you’ll find something here, Spring Bonnie,” Oswald assured him as the two entered the little store, patting the side of the nervous bunny’s arm.
Spring Bonnie began to search, and so did Oswald, helping him out further. It didn’t take that long for the two of them to find something rather nice: flowers.
Oswald silently left as the bunny began to look around, needing to do something real quick.
...
When the boy eventually returned into the main area of the little building, he spotted Spring Bonnie by the doors, holding something—which he seemed to have already bought.
“What do you got?”
Spring Bonnie held it out for Oswald to see—he had flowers, decently sized ones. A few of them were red, a few were orange, and the last few were a shade of blue.
On the side, was a somewhat big ribbon with the words: “I love you.” followed with a heart.
Oswald nodded. “I think he’ll like this.”
...
Spring Bonnie was standing in front of a tree, waiting for Ralpho to arrive—all while he kept the flowers behind his back.
Although Jackie and Thomas weren’t here, Oswald was. He was somewhat far away, but still close enough to see and hear what would play out.
“Spring!” He heard a familiar voice approaching, and he looked around. He felt his tail wag.
He turned, and spotted the orange rabbit. The bunny met up with him half-way, but still kept the flowers behind his back.
Ralpho glanced up at the sky for a moment, and so did Spring Bonnie. “You know,” He smiled, “All of that’s always been pretty beautiful...”
Spring Bonnie shut his eyes for a moment. It’ll be okay. The bunny took out the flowers from behind his back, and held them out in front of the rabbit.
...
Ralpho’s grin was growing as he looked back down, refocusing on the bunny in front of him. “Which, actually, reminds m-“
Ralpho stared, feeling his ears go up. He could hear a gasp escape him as he stared at the flowers, and he had to hold in a laugh of surprise.
For the entire day, the rabbit had been planning a little (more like a rather long) speech, that he had wanted to use to tell Spring Bonnie how he felt. He hadn’t been too certain on how the bunny felt.
He’d been planning on confessing—the rabbit had planned a good amount of things—but it seemed as if the bunny had beat him to it... not that he hated that fact, though.
As Ralpho stared at all of the flowers, he found himself staring at the orange and blue ones—they reminded him of himself. Smiling, he looked back up at Spring Bonnie, who was nervously waiting.
“Aw, Spring...!” He leaped, wrapping his arms around Spring Bonnie—who quickly wrapped his own arms around the orange rabbit—still holding onto the flowers. The two’s noses were touching.
“I love you, too!”
Spring Bonnie smiled, gently staring at the rabbit that he was hugging—feeling his tail beginning to wag once again. He felt so much relief and happiness.
Ralpho pressed his lips gently against one of the bunny’s cheeks—and Spring Bonnie could feel himself start to heat up again.
The bunny was so glad to have met Ralpho.

This is a water colour based on Tadpole Blues by Peter Combe. It was my absolute favourite song when I was a kid and it's honestly still one of my favourites.
It's a song about growing up! I think it has a really good message about how difficult it is to change. But it's really rather nice to be a frog...
