Scientific name: Heliconius charithonia

Conservation Status: G5

Location: This species is common in Mexico and Central America and it is also found in most of Florida and in some areas of Texas!

Lifespan: they can live up to 3 months as adults!

Size: Wingspan: 3 - 3½ inches (7.4 - 8.9 cm)

Fun Fact: The zebra longwing, Heliconius charithonia (Linnaeus), was designated the state butterfly of Florida in 1996!
