Armor of Pride - Armor of Gleaming gold, armed with a Golden Halberd
Armor gifted from Ankarna to her follower Athenriel. After Athenriel took on the form of Bakur, the armor passed through his lineage patrilineally until it was gifted to Gorthalax the Insatiable.
The curse of the armor transferred to the eldest male descendants of the lineage with the death of each previous holder of the curse. The most recent of these was Gilear Faeth. Upon reunification with the line of Athenriel, the curse was left in a flux state, until it was taken on by the Dark Mistress and Archdevil of the Bottomless Pit, Figueroth the Infaethable.
The Curse was broken and sealed in the Sword of Sight, and later used to remove the containment of Bakur from the body of Lydia Barkrock

The Transubstantiations of the Nightmare King
Four symbols of the Unnamed Goddess’ power, converted into four curses which spread the power of the King of the Dark Dreaming
The Coin, a curse placed on the hoard of Kalvaxus that allowed the Nightmare King to possess those who had knowledge of their wealth’s origin (Dragon Madness). This curse came from the trans-substantiation of the spellbook of the Unnamed Goddess, now known as Cassandra. DIspelled by the Blessed Saint Kristen Applebees.
The Plague, a curse placed on the familiar of the Unnamed Goddess, Kalina the Shadow Cat. This curse converted Kalina into a plague that manifested as various illusionary powers, with additional strength within the borders of Sylvaire. Dispelled by Aelwyn Abernant.
The Curse, a curse that bound celestials who attempted to enter the Nightmare King’s Forest and utilized their energies to power the mycelium web of trans-substantiations. This curse originated from the cottage of the Unnamed Goddess. Dispelled by Tracker O’Shaughnessy.
The Tree, a curse on the arcane focus of the Unnamed Goddess, a broomstick which became the Tree at the center of Sylvaire. This curse altered the shape of the Forest to suit the fears of those who entered–the more confident a traveler was in their path, the further they traveled from the center of the Forest. in preparation for fantasy high: junior year(!!!!!!!!!), i am finally watching pirates of leviathan
i tried a few months ago, but i couldn’t get through the first episode
resumed from where i left off a couple of days ago, and i’m so glad i did
the characters are captivating, the story is interesting and fun (and brennan is in his top anticapitalist form, we stan an icon), and the cameos and mentions of characters we met in sophomore year are exciting but don’t pull attention away from our incredible buccaneer buddies!
all in all an awesome season, i only have a couple of episodes left and i can’t wait!

I’m generally seeing in the fandom that we all want Ramon to go full splinter cel and bust Bullfrog out of prison so they can start their delightful buddy adventures, and that would be neat.
But part of me thinks Ramon doesn’t have those skills, certainly not to Bullfrog’s level. Yes he got to the Templar counsel while carrying two Tommy guns but I put that down to the Templar’s incompetence and arrogance, not some incredible espionage sleeper skill of Ramon.
What would be so much better is Ramon gets arrested for his killing spree, ends up in the same area of the prison as Bullfrog, and then manages to get them out having swiped a keycard off a guard using his limbless powers.

Countless stories of pirate treasure buried along the New England coast. Jewell Island, Maine (Casco Bay), is rumored to be a place where the infamous pirate, Captain Kidd, buried some of his treasure. Kidd did frequent New England, but perhaps only time will tell if his treasure really is or was there, or perhaps it's too late to know. One Captain, Jonathan Chase, did find buried treasure on Jewell Island once upon a time and disappeared after killing his buddy in greed, burying his body at the site of the discovery.
Kidd also supposedly buried treasure on Orrs Island, Outer Heron, Monhegan Island, and Isle de Haute, and in Hollowell and Pittston on the mainland to name a few. Prior to his execution, however, he hinted at booty buried on Gardiner Island, New York, in an attempt to bribe the Earl of Bellomont. Attempts to find the treasure were unsuccessful.
Records indicate Kidd was close to John Gardiner and did visit him before turning himself in at Boston with two French passes and supposed protection under a new anti-piracy act. Perhaps not fully realizing he was, by name, excluded from the 1698 Act of Grace that gave clemency to pirates who turned themselves in and ceased their illicit activities, he likely expected to be back for his riches, wherever they may be.
Instead, he was extradited to London and executed on May 23, 1701.

Last art of 2023! And it's ANGST??
Why do I do this? It's finished, at least. I count that as a win. And I will say that I do have a happier Garthy/Jack piece that's almost done. I love them so much!
This is absolutely not canon - it started as pose practice with Captain Jack Brakkow, and then Garthy O'Brien got added to the mix. The story in my head goes that the Buccaneer Buddies got into a series of altercations with fiends who work for Grummsh-One-Eye.
In Pirates of Leviathan, Garthy is implied to possess celestial powers that formed as a counter-balance to Grummsh and his followers. On the grounds of the Gold Gardens, Garthy is incredibly powerful. The layout of the buildings form a religious rune that acts as the foundation of a Sanctum spell. (Pirates of Leviathan Episode 3, 1:55:30) (EDIT: That's confirmed in Sophomore Year - the whole Zajiri thing with the Orcish pantheon of gods. Garthy is a descendant of "risen devils" and is a kind of "holy succubi.")
So what happens if Garthy is caught off-guard while not on campus grounds?

…You get the point. Like I know it wouldn’t have all of them because there are tons and that means some seasons would be left out and they keep making more seasons of course so perhaps that’s why the shirt doesn’t exist. But I would buy it if they sold it. They come up with a new Group Name with almost if not every new side quest I feel like those should be celebrated. Prefrontal PIs bro? Genius work. The alliteration in them makes me smile every time.

Fullmetal Alchemist Chapter 98
What's most wild to me about Wrath and Greed is they are two fragments of the same soul and they hate each other.
Greed admittedly has beef with Wrath because of the Devil's Nest, but I wonder if they'd be at each other's throats even without something like that. They are just so diametrically opposed that them fighting just seems natural.
And what would that say about Father when his soul still had those fragments of himself? Did he desire everything there is to desire, but he also believed such things were pointless? Did his own greed and wrath fight each other within his soul as well?
Greed and Lin are becoming more symbiotic with each other. Greed willingly gave control to Lin so Lin could thank Falman for earlier, and Lin willingly gave control to Greed so he could fight Wrath.
And Greed called Lin his buddy.
The last time Foo was in a fight was when he fought Al in chapter 33.
When speaking to Wrath, Greed refers to him with that name. When speaking of Wrath, he calls him King Bradley. Just interesting that Greed called him King Bradley when Foo asked who he was.
The North-East Alliance is getting a little shaky since Major General Armstrong has to get thrown under the bus to keep up the charade. Granted, they could argue she and Buccaneer were rogue and the rest of Briggs who are currently with Graman can feign ignorance of her "plot".
Izumi has the exact reaction and does exactly what every scientist wants to do whenever a politician twists their terms and research to justify themselves.
She snapped the moment he talked about All is One and One is All. That is the very center of her own Alchemy philosophy so it really pisses her off that he would use that phrase to justify why he in the moral right.
And following from that discussion I made about the soldiers fighting Sloth, they just had their crossroads moment. They are choosing the hard path of doing what they think is right and deciding for themselves rather than just following orders.
Major General Armstrong's role in the operation was likely to destabilize Central Command from within by killing and capturing as many of the people in High-Command as possible. But the mannequins arrival changed the priority to eliminating all of them while Buccaneer's forces put Central HQ under siege.
With Wrath on the field and making a public display of fighting Briggs forces, Armstrong likely knows that she will be branded a traitor when this is all over. There's no point in trying to keep Central HQ under control. All that's left is to descend into Father's lair to join Ed and Roy in the battle to save Amestris.
May kind of was their only guide to navigating the tunnels since she could detect where Father was.
But what kind of wandering did Ed's group do? The ceiling was originally brick but now it's a mass of pipes.

One Piece Chapter 1097 - Ginny; Thoughts, Discussions and Speculations

I gotta start off by saying, Kuma is HIM. I don't usually use the word gigachad but like. Kuma is genuinely the definition of a chad. EVEN HIS CHIN IS THE GIGACHAD CHIN. The way he carries everyone on his back without second thought has genuinely been so awe inspiring throughout this entire backstory.
The Themes and Narratives Surrounding Kuma:
Also, not to mention, his character seems heavily inspired by Jesus. He has heavy Christian themes surrounding him, he lives in a church, and he uses his fruit to take upon himself the pain of other people. I wonder if his story is gonna be a parallel of Jesus' life... (Perhaps Kuma carries the pain of all the Straw Hats like a cross??? WHAT IF HE REVIVES AFTER DEATH??? If that's the direction Oda is going with his character then I can't contain my excitement.)
The panel of Kuma taking on THE SAME AMOUNT OF PAIN THAT ZORO TOOK, LITERALLY EVERY WEEK makes the entire incident at Thriller Bark so much more impactful than it already was.
I'm especially curious about the "Hands of Liberation" remark... do y'all think that perhaps there are Devil Fruits which serve as accompaniments to the Nika fruit? Because some of the fruits are clearly more relevant to the entire Joyboy narrative than others... (Imagine if there were several God fruits, which bring different Gods into the same universe... Like Jesus, Zeus, Krishna, Allah and so on. That would be super cool for me idk 😭).
I think that Kuma's character could go in two or three directions. He could reach egghead and stop Saturn with the stored up pain, killing himself in the process. He could awaken his fruit and restore the deleted Bonney memories, while becoming a God himself. He could also just show up to disperse the Straw Hats again, like he did at Sabaody. OR HE COULD pilot the giant robot which reacted to Joyboy's heartbeat and wreck all the Marines at Egghead.
The Revolutionary Army, Monkey D. Dragon and Ginny:
We got a lot about Dragon in this chapter too. We now know that he was a young marine at one point, before he got disillusioned and left. So Garp did actually get his son to join the Navy? This actually strengthens my belief that Akainu and Dragon were buddies back in the day. Like really good ones. Akainu, to this day, is still extremely fixated on Dragon. His sole obsession at Marineford was to kill the person he repeatedly referred to as "Dragon's son".
Another interesting thing is that 22 years ago, Dragon did not have his face markings. He did have them 14 years ago, though. Could the markings have something to do with the birth of Luffy? I genuinely can't fathom how he got those marks. Something leads me to believe that it has something to do with Shandora and Skypiea, but I have literally nothing to back that up 😭😭😭.

Also, I just LOVE the budding romance between Kuma and Ginny. It's a very cute relationship, which is also tragic in some ways. It's sad to see that Kuma is hesitating to be with a girl he loves because he remembers the persecution that his Buccaneer father had to face and doesn't want to let that repeat. I hope they're able to get together before the inevitable tragedy strikes though 😭😭😭.
I do still think that there's a possibility that Ginny is Bonney, instead of Bonney being the child of Ginny and Kuma. Kuma marrying Ginny at this stage, while being a pastor, just doesn't feel right to me personally.
OKAY THANKS IF YOU ACTUALLY BOTHERED TO READ THROUGH THIS ENTIRE THING. Tell me some cool theories of your own regarding Kuma and Ginny (or even Dragon). I love theorizing even though I know my theories are too subpar for Oda to incorporate 😭😭😭. Here's a random Ginny panel cuz she looks cute here.

a drabble for #7?
“Can you feel this?”
Light glinted off metal.
'Only the phantom sensation of pressure at a distance.' That's how Beard would have liked to respond, if Dr. Buddy's hand wasn't pressed up against the roof of his mouth.
The situation being what it was, he settled for a cordial, "Uh-uh."
"Good. Good. That's what I love to hear," said Dr. Buddy, smiling with eyes and likely a mouth underneath the face mask. He handed the dental pick to his assistant. His thumb stayed hooked on Beard's mouth. "Now you just let me know if we need a break, you hear? Any discomfort that comes up, let me know straight away. Raise your hand up if you need me to stop."
Prison had reset Beard's tolerance for discomfort, but sitting in the leaned-back dental chair, a precipitously high wave a nausea threatened to make landfall. Accompanying it were persistent tremors in his fingers and a dry mouth, and tunneling vision to round out the quartet. Had Ted told him ahead of time where they were going, Beard would have jumped out of the moving vehicle to join the errant cows of the field who didn't yet know that they were livestock.
All things considered, Willis Beard was experiencing a typical level of comfort, solidly below the baseline of what he could endure.
He offered the dentist a thumbs up, and the hand that hitched Beard's arm to the chair gave him a reassuring squeeze.
The dental assistant handed Buddy a corded instrument.
While Beard's ears began ringing like a tornado siren on a clear day, Buddy picked up on their prior conversation with, "I'm not sure, Ted. I still think Vermeil screwed the pooch last year. Should'a stayed retired if you asked me."
"Oh ye' of little faith," Ted responded. Beard didn't need eyes or mouth to know when Ted was smiling. "I thought he whipped them boys into pretty good shape last year. It's rough starting out fresh, these things take time."
College may have been a life left behind in the rearview mirror, but Beard could swear that once upon a time Ted's Ted-isms didn't clock overtime carrying the weight of all the baggage booked between them. Or maybe they had. Maybe every one of their elbowing, crushed conversations under stadiums of lights, kicking heels at each other while they waited for second string to get its call, maybe all of those moments had always been a guise for the gentle hand reaching out underneath, and Beard had been too tone-deaf to notice.
He'd been experimenting with a lot of MDMA at the time so he supposed he'd never know. Too bad no one had ever made a future in fixing maybes.
Ted tried to lasso the dentist onto his side. "C'mon, pal. You ain't ever heard of second chances?"
Finally the thumb prying him open let go of his mouth. Beard stretched his jaw out, making a show of it while he bid his time. He'd need every deep inhale for this next part.
Buddy fiddled with his glove, pulling the rubber tight over a bulky status watch, the kind that made a regular man feel wealthy but wouldn't fetch much in a pinch.
The dental assistant placed a stacked tray before him, all sharps and gauze. Dr. Buddy picked up another poker. "How about you, Beard? Who do you favor for the playoffs?"
"The Buccaneers."
"Hah!" Buddy scoffed. "Now that's a longshot. I'll give you that one, Ted; the Chiefs have a better shot of making it to the playoffs than the Bucs ever will. Those bookies down in Vegas, they're printing money saying otherwise. No siree, it doesn't matter how good the odds are. They've got no experience keeping their heads up under pressure."
Ted hummed thoughtfully. "Maybe. Everybody loves a longshot, though. And hell, who doesn't love a pirate?"
"Captain Fear," Beard added.
"You're both nuts," lamented Buddy, shaking his head.
"I don't know about that, Buddy," said Ted with a smile as wide as the sign out front. "After all, the game's not over 'til it's over. Chiefs, pirates—as long as the team keeps trying, we'll keep rooting, and sooner or later all that effort's going to pay off. Might take a little time and a little luck, but it'll happen."
"We'll see about that. Alright, gentlemen, enough of the small talk. Time to let her fly."
Beard white-knuckled his grip on the chair. Ted's hand tightened on his forearm, holding him steady. He was ready. Ready steady.

1. Elephant's Dance - Ye Banished Privateers
This is my favorite ever since I started listening to sea shanties! It was one of the first I ever heard and it's absolutely amazing.
I get chills when they get to "we are born of the salt, we are children of the sea, we don't bend our knees for no king or country, so we hoist the Jolly Roger, the colors of the free, and if we hit the Gallows that's the way that it must be". This. THIS 👈👈👈👈 I LOVE IT!!
Whenever I listesn to it I have a whole animatic with my characters playing in my head. I'm happy
2. Fly With the Seagulls - Anchorsmashed
THIS ONE!! I only discovered it fairly recently, some months ago (ok probably half a year or a bit more but I have no concept of time). I LOVE IT!!

The vocals on this one!! And the overall just happy tone of it!! And i'm sorry but "we rather fight the weather than the fishes down bellow, God help us if the riggin' ever fails" is so????? THE VOICES!!! THE WAY THE WOMEN BLEND IN SO NICELY WITH THE MEN!! WHEN I HEAR THIS SONG I CAN ONLY THINK OF A SOFT BREEZE WHILE I STAND ON THE BEACH!!
It's sacred, i have to listen to it as I look upon the ocean and daydream- i love this one, the vibes are just amazing!
4. Round The Cape - The Longest Johns
THE VIBES!! THE BEAT!!! IT'S ABSOLUTE GOLD I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!!
