tazercraft kinda give me permafusion vibes so here. they’re rocks now. a ruby and a blue pearl :] and their fusion, rhodonite. pretty heavily based on the canon rhodonite lol

notes —

- the glasses don’t have lenses ruby/mike just wears them because he thinks they make him look smart

- the lab coat thing on rhodonite is optional

- haven’t designed them yet but mikes weapon is a war hammer that’s twice his size (at my little brothers suggestion), pac’s is an electrified spear, and rhodonites is a big electrified pick axe :D

Sometimes I think about the singular earring Ivanova wears as a way to constantly have her older brother (Ganya) with her. Because of this behavior (in addition to the fraternal nature of the dynamic between Sheridan and Ivanova), I headcanon that John had a bit of the scrap metal from the Drala’Fi that Susan had gifted him at the end of 2259 turned into an identical earring— which she wears at all times (alongside Ganya’s).

Not counting today, I got 6 days until my birthday and I am trying so hard to do a bunch of things now so that I can give myself a chill day as a gift to myself.

Like, absolutely no drawing, writing, modeling or what have you. Just watch some videos, chill with friends, eat a nice treat, mayhaps play some games and be done with it.

Between the burnout and the constant despair I've been feeling at the state of the world, I feel like I deserve at least one day of the year to be relatively happy and problem free.

Random TGCF Thought of the Day

Extended Shi Family is on my mind again and the family politicking and scheming.

The RoEW ruins entire households so the ten years where SQX grows up peacefully should really only be peaceful from his perspective. I'm picturing the RoEW messing with the Shi family's shipments and products, encouraging the family to take out bad loans and risky business ventures (that it then sabotages), accumulate gambling debts, etc etc

(I haven't decided what I want the Shi family to specialize in in my headcanons but I was thinking either silk, jewels, or salt)

(also have been toying with them being from Xuli)

Meanwhile, how secret is SQX's situation? Who besides the Shi parents & SWD know that SQX was cursed and the little girl being raised is still actually the 2nd Shi son? Does the extended family know both of these things or just the first? Do they blame SQX or the random little girl the family took in?

(Yes. Yes they do.)

(Once the money runs out, maybe they also see this doted on young mistress as a burden)

I really want to write the missing scene where SWD has enough, grabs SQX and leaves, but have the whole thing set from SQX's perspective with her being completely in the dark about what's really happening and so it's just a scene of SWD being pissy and getting into a fight with his relatives that he's then blamed for and refuses to say what started the fight, just that they're leaving and that's that.

(And in a moment of vulnerability and stupidity this is also when SWD decides to tell SQX who she really is and her eight characters because he thinks it's important she know these things. This won't backfire on him ever.)

(It's always bothered me how what we're told about the RoEW by HC, HX & MNQ doesn't really match SQX's experience. SQX's retelling seems to suggest nothing overly horrible ever happened which... is pretty at odds with how vicious this thing is supposed to be. And was to HX and his family. The one line about their parents dying and the household & business falling apart from infighting feels like it was very understated ^^")

(And also SQX's complete lack of stranger danger and knowledge of his true identity but seemingly not why he's raised as a girl. Seriously why.)

Crafting update: -I have abruptly realized I probably should have already started holiday crafting but am ignoring that for now lol - three rows completely sewn together out of fourteen for the new rainbow triangle quilt! One row sewn into a row but it needs one more round of ironing before I sew it to the quilt top. Ten rows to go - I have three coworker's babies (or grandbabies) to make blankets for! I think I'll just go for simple flannel blankets instead of quilts so I can get them all done quickly, but baby blankets!!! :D - I need to mail stuff and if I promised to mail you something recently I swear I still will. I have a pile of packages to mail forming, the local post office just has very restricted hours and the asthma flareup has made leaving the house into a high-spoons activity. So, this weekend? Or early next week at the earliest - oh no oh no holiday crafting

you know. back when i reviewed poetry submissions for [insert unnamed literary magazine here], i once got a submission containing only two poems (you could submit up to five) both of which were about the author's older brothers, whose names are dan and john (my older brothers' names are dan and jon...athan) and her relationship w them and descriptions of them were not all that unlike my own brothers. still one of the weirdest things that has ever happened to me

#i understand my brother's do not have the most exotic names in the anglophone world #(although this was an international outlet and we frequently got pleeenty of submissions from non-anglophone countries) #(in fact one of the reasons i got sick of it over time was seeing too many worthy poems be rejected for bullshit reasons #and that seemed to happen in especially high numbers to poems from perspectives of other cultures/international issues #that i found to be very well-crafted and objectively deserving! but u can only afford to publish so many poems a week right #so u have to pass over the vast majority of stuff. so u have to grasp at reasons like 'the voice is too close' whatever tf that means) #(that shit used to pissss meeeee offff. i hate literary magazine readers. it's a fool's job and i can say it bc i've been the fool) #however that being said. what a coincidence #tales from diana #they were good poems too. i think i gave them a thumbs up before they were eventually rejected like most other thigns that are worthwhile #did i ever mention the literary publishing world is bullshit? bc it is #especially especially the poetry side of it. completely bullshit and so out of touch w how ppl read and appreciate poetry nowadays #no wonder that shit makes no money. well that and nobody wants to pay for it anyway #but when it comes to my poetry i have no problem being a starving artist. i never made a dollar from my work #but i don't think my work has ever been worth a dollar. it's never COST me a dollar either #and as far as i'm concerned i don't really want to be appreciated much for it #not that i ever have been. well. lol #but it wasn't about me bc i have reviewed thousands of submissions but only submitted to like... a handful of outlets over time #and having been on both sides of that equation. i do think that that's not for me #sometimes i do think about self-publishing but i don't even think the work of that would feel worth it to me #and if i were to do that i would probably do it under a pen name. #i don't have a collection of poems. i just have poems. thousands of em. #if i ever get around to writing those plays i have outlined in my head i might consider it though #bring back the closet drama

i like giving gifts, i like looking for something that the other person will actually appreciate, but most of all i like making gifts with my own clumsy hands. i pour my love into it. it's my affection made tangible. so then naturally it means the world to me when i find out they really like it like i hoped they would :')
