Ohhh Jegulily is one of my faves. Can you do "Why is no one paying attention to this monstrosity?" pls
“Ugh,” Lily scoffed in disgust, dropping into her boyfriend’s lap. “Did you have to invite James Potter?”
Regulus laughed and nuzzled her neck gently. “He’s Sirius’ best friend. I didn’t have much of a choice inviting him to our Christmas party.”
“If he tries to kiss me under any mistletoe I’ll be kicking him in the balls,” she grumbled, putting her arms around Reg’s neck.
Reg grinned against her skin and brought his arms up to encircle her waist. “He’s not so bad. I actually used to have a crush on him at school,” he admitted. Lily made a face at him in response, causing him to laugh again. “What? He’s fit.”
Lily rolled her eyes. “Yeah and he won’t let you forget it.”
“Oh come on,” Reg teased, tickling her side a little. “You didn’t fancy him even a little?”
Lily batted his hand away. “Absolutely not.”
Undeterred, Reg slid her hair off her slim shoulders and pressed a kiss through her Christmas jumper. “I think the lady doth protest too much.”
Lily scowled at him. “The lady protests just enough,” she retorted, sliding off Reg’s lap. “If he’s going to be around I’m going to need a lot more alcohol in my system.”
Reg stood up and kissed her properly. “Be nice, it’s Christmas,” he murmured against her lips before kissing her again.
“Bah humbug,” Lily joked in return.
Regulus slipped away and went to go get them some eggnog while Lily surveyed the party. Pretty much everyone she knew had been invited for Regulus and Sirius’ big holiday blowout. It was something they did every year since their Uncle had died and left them a two bedroom flat that they shared.
Lily had only started dating Regulus six months ago after they both became interns at the same publishing house. They’d bonded over having to get coffee and their boss Slughorn being an eccentric weirdo. She never thought she would willingly spend time with Sirius Black after he had been such an arsehole to her at school, but he and Reg were kind of a packaged deal and Lily loved Reg enough to suffer through it.
Unfortunately, with Sirius Black also came James Potter, who had been completely insufferable at school. She’d lost track of the amount of times he’d tried to chat her up. She wasn’t sure if James Potter just couldn’t take a hint or if he was just too unused to rejection. Perhaps it was a little bit of both.
Speak of the devil, Lily thought as James approached her.
“Lily Evans!” he said enthusiastically. “Are you a sight for sore eyes!”
“You eyes are going to be even more sore if you take another step towards me,” Lily warned him, crossing her arms over her chest.
James grinned. “Still the same old Lily, pretending you’re not in love with me.”
“Still the same old Potter, delusional as ever.”
Thankfully, Regulus came back with their drinks, handing one over to Lily as he slid his arm around her waist. “Hi James. Happy Christmas!”
“Happy Christmas!” James said beaming at Reg. “Christ Reg, you get better looking every time I see you. It’s good to know the ugly gene only effected Sirius.”
“Excuse you, I’m fucking beautiful,” Sirius said, joining their little group. “Aren’t I, Moony?”
Remus Lupin rolled his eyes, having been dragged along by Sirius. Lily liked Remus as he was the least annoying of their group. She still had yet to figure out why he was friends with such wankers. “You’re very beautiful, Pads.”
“Oh good, they’re all here,” Lily said under her breath as Peter Pettigrew walked over and stood between James and Sirius. She quickly downed her eggnog. “Oh no, I need a refill.”
She gave Reg a quick kiss and retreated to the kitchen to get some more. She eyed the bottle of brandy on the counter and thought about just drinking it straight. It would get the job done faster.
“You know Evans, I think you’re terribly unfair to me.”
Lily wheeled around and found James Potter standing in the doorway to the kitchen. Forgoing the brandy, Lily got herself another glass of eggnog. “Is that so?”
“Yes,” James said, pushing off the doorframe and coming to stand beside her. “It’s Christmas time and I’d like to be your friend.”
“Yeah right,” Lily said, raising an eyebrow at him. “Like you could be my friend and not try and get into my knickers.”
James blanched at that. “Lily, Regulus is my best friend’s brother. That basically makes him family. I wouldn’t…shit, you must think very little of me if you believe I would chat you up when you’re with him.”
James looked genuinely hurt but Lily wasn’t sure she was buying it. She’d seen him pull enough stunts in her time. When he didn’t say anything more, Lily sighed. “Fine, I will be your friend. But only because of Reg. You screw this up, Potter, and you’ll need more than Christmas magic to save you.”
“Understood,” James said, giving a firm nod. “Best behavior from here on out.”
“Yeah, we’ll see,” Lily said, downing another glass of eggnog.
                                                           ***
After what felt like an incessant amount of knocking, Lily opened the door to find James Potter on the other side. “Sirius isn’t here,” she informed him dismissively before she remembered her promise to try and be his friend. They’d seen each other a few times since Christmas and so far James had kept his part of the bargain. There had been no chat up lines, no cheesy winks, just actual conversations.
“I’m actually here to see Reg,” James said with a mischievous grin. “We’re planning Sirius’ surprise.”
Lily furrowed her brow. It was strange that Regulus hadn’t mentioned anything about it to her. Reminding herself to be friendly, she stepped aside and let James enter the flat.
“Hi James!” Regulus greeted him, wrapping his arms around Lily from behind and placing a kiss on her neck, just in the spot that always made her eyelids flutter closed. “Ready for planning mode?”
           “Only always!”
Lily watched the two of them settle on the sofa together, grinning excitedly like children. “Wasn’t Sirius’ birthday in November?” She distinctly remembered being at his birthday party where they weren’t allowed to play anything but David Bowie music.
“It’s not a birthday party,” James informed her. “Remus is going to propose.”
Lily blinked a few times. “Why isn’t he involved in the planning of it then?”
James huffed haughtily. “Remus is pants at keeping anything from Sirius. So he put us in charge of everything so that it’ll be a true surprise. He doesn’t even know when this is all going to go down. The more Moony is kept in the dark the better.”
Lily sat on the arm of the sofa and pushed her fingers into Reg’s hair. “And you’re going along with this mad scheme?”
Regulus shrugged. “He’s my brother and I want him to be happy. Besides, I always wanted to be included in a Marauder scheme but never got the chance before.”
           “Sorry about that, mate.”
Regulus smiled kindly at James. “It’s okay, I appreciated the lack of detentions. At least I get to live out a bit of my childhood fantasy now.”
“So what’s the big plan?’ Lily asked, unable to keep herself from being just a tiniest bit curious.
James pushed his glasses up his nose and grinned wickedly. “It’s going to be epic.”
                                                                       ***
James, Lily and Regulus crouched in the bushes, hiding from view of Sirius and Remus. They’d been following the pair for the last two hours, watching them have dinner together, the restaurant band playing their song so Sirius and Remus could slow dance. Lily had to admit she was having fun watching their months of planning come to fruition.
She and Regulus had had to reign in some of James’ more outlandish ideas like a hot air balloon and sky writing. The three of them had gone back and forth on having a fireworks display until Lily decided she didn’t trust James Potter with explosions of any kind.
Despite her early reservations, Lily was shocked to find that James Potter had actually become her friend. They’d spent quite a lot of time together over the past month and a half of planning. The three of them had become quite close. She’d never thought she’d be close to James Potter to the point where they could joke around with each other easily. She had to admit that she enjoyed spending time with him. Being around James and Reg made her feel all warm and fuzzy, both of them attentive and sweet to her. She’d always thought she and Reg were a good fit, sharing a lot of the same interests, but with James it felt somehow better.
The three of them jumped into a cab after Remus and Sirius left the restaurant. They followed them to the outdoor ice skating rink where Remus was going to do the proposal. Lily watched them awkwardly try to skate, Sirius clutching Remus too tightly and making them both fall on their arse. Lily glanced over and noticed James and Reg were deep in conversation.
“Uh, why is no one paying attention to this monstrosity?” she asked, tapping Reg on the shoulder. “Did either of you even bother to ask if Remus and Sirius knew how to ice skate?”
James laughed. “That’s the whole point! They’ll hold each other tightly and lean on each other for support. It’s a great metaphor for marriage, don’t you think?”
Lily scoffed. “You’ll be lucky if they get to the actual proposal without one of them accidently severing off a limb by mistake.”
Regulus chuckled. “They’ll get the hang of it. Oh, nope they’re down again.”
“Just watch,” James hissed at them. “Ye of little faith.”
Sirius got shakily to his feet but Remus stayed on the ground, sliding up onto his knees. He pulled out the ring from his coat pocket and began his speech. It had been the only part that Remus had been in charge of because he hadn’t trusted James to write it.
“Here we go,” James said, texting someone on his phone.
“Go where?” Regulus asked in confusion. He and Lily exchanged a look right before the first firework exploded over their heads. It made them both jump and grab at each other in surprise. “I thought we agreed no fireworks!”
James smirked. “Come on, there has to be fireworks!”
Lily shook her head. “If anything catches fire, James Potter, I’m going to put it out with your big head.”
“It’s perfectly safe, Lils,” James said, rolling his eyes as if Lily were being the unreasonable one. “I wasn’t going to let my best mates get engaged without a fireworks display.”
“They are beautiful,” Reg said, watching a big green one explode in the sky.
They all looked away from the fireworks for a moment to gaze at Sirius and Remus. They had their arms around each other and were snogging like mad, neither of them paying much attention to the fireworks going on above them. Lily didn’t bother mentioning what a waste it had been to get them in the first place. It was actually kind of sweet that James had gone to all that trouble.
“They look so happy,” James said, beaming proudly at his friends. “Fuck, I wish someone would love me like that one day.”
Lily glanced over at Regulus but her boyfriend was watching James longingly. She’d had an inkling that maybe Reg’s crush on James wasn’t quite in the past as he liked to pretend. He looked as if he wanted to reach out and touch him. When he finally looked over at Lily, his cheeks went red with embarrassment at having gotten caught staring. “It’s okay,” Lily said, patting him on the shoulder.
Regulus gave her a puzzled expression. “What do you mean?”
Lily gave Regulus a shove towards James. “Go on.”
“Lily I don’t want to lose you.”
“Who said anything about losing me?” Lily challenged, giving Regulus a wink. Regulus’ lips curled up into a small smile and he pulled Lily into a kiss.
“Fuck, you’re amazing,” Regulus breathed out softly. “Seriously amazing.”
“Oi, you two!” James said, interrupting them. “It’s bad enough that I’m alone and feeling sorry for myself. Do you two really have to rub it in my face? It’s bad enough that I have no chance with either of you.”
“Says who?” Regulus asked, glancing conspiratorially at Lily.
“I, well…” James looked between the two of them in confusion. “I mean…”
“Oh my god, he’s finally shut up,” Lily joked as Reg grabbed the front of James’ coat and pulled him into a kiss. Lily watched her boyfriend kiss his childhood crush and found instead of being jealous she was just insanely proud that she’d made it happen. She licked her lips in anticipation, knowing things were only going to get better.
“I’ll shut up, I’ll shut up,” James promised once Regulus finally released him.
“Good, do that,” Lily said, taking her turn to thoroughly snog James Potter.

I’ve previously stated that when people say “Why have James and Harry as POC?” it’s fair enough to respond, “Why not?” but there are also some reasons that specifically drive me towards representing them that way. So, without further ado, here’s why I tend to view James Potter as a person of colour.
(Please note that this isn’t about authorial intent, since I’m more than aware that JKR doesn’t exactly write with the purpose of people reading her main characters as POC. It’s more about how the narrative connects as a reader, as well as some personal preferences.)
Racially-Coded Language Directed At James
[...] Mrs. Dursley pretended she didn't have a sister, because her sister and her good-for-nothing husband were as unDursleyish as it was possible to be. The Dursleys shuddered to think what the neighbors would say if the Potters arrived in the street. The Dursleys knew that the Potters had a small son, too, but they had never even seen him. This boy was another good reason for keeping the Potters away; they didn't want Dudley mixing with a child like that. (PS1)
and, after Vernon claims James had been unemployed in POA:
“As I expected!” said Aunt Marge, taking a huge swig of brandy and wiping her chin on her sleeve. “A no-account, good-for-nothing, lazy scrounger who —” (POA2)
There’s a very specific trend in the way that the Dursleys speak about James. “Good-for-nothing,” as soon as he’s introduced, a sentiment repeated by Marge. “Wastrel” in that same chapter of POA. And the way that Marge reacts to James being “unemployed” is very much akin to anti-immigrant rhetoric, i.e. considering them a drain of public resources. It’s classist too, certainly, but that’s not divorced from racial dynamics. The greatest employment disparities in Britain occur among ethnic minorities. And that’s in recent reports. I can guarantee it was worse approximately 30 years ago, during the setting of HP. On top of that, the idea that the Harry’s “otherness” can be identified on sight also reads like an allusion to race.
Harry’s Appearance
He shot a nasty look sideways at Harry, whose untidy hair had always been a source of great annoyance to Uncle Vernon. (POA2)
and
Professor Flitwick was walking past a boy with untidy black hair . . . very untidy black hair. . .  (OOTP28)
James and Harry share most of their features. The most prominent of these is by far James’s hair, which is consistently described as both “black” and “untidy.” Neither is a trait exclusive to people of colour, but there certainly is a tendency for people of colour to face greater scrutiny for the state of their hair. The Dursleys’ view that having “improper” hair somehow equates lacking societal worth is much along those lines. It’s not at all unreasonable to relate Harry’s struggle with his hair as partly the product of his heritage.
Dynamic Balance Between James and Lily
This one is a point of personal preference. Since we know so little about either James or Lily, it’s hard to gauge what exactly their relationship was like. But I absolutely love the idea of James as a person of colour and a pure-blood while Lily is white and Muggle-born. Although there’s a claim that there’s no racism in the wizarding world (I’d question that, but that’s a different post), there certainly would be in 1970s Muggle UK. It’s an interesting dynamic to engage with — James, completely unaware of why people would look askew his relationship with Lily even in the Muggle world. Lily, turning indignant protector for James, while people dislike him for his heritage. It’s all the appeal of a role reversal AU but built into canon-compliance.
Presumption of Delinquency
For the space of a heartbeat both policemen imagined guns gleaming at them, but a second later they saw that the motorcyclists had drawn nothing more than —
“Drumsticks?” jeered Anderson. “Right pair of jokers, aren’t you? Right, we’re arresting you on a charge of —” (Prequel)
and
Harry preferred Little Whinging by night, when the curtained windows made patches of jewel-bright colors in the darkness and he ran no danger of hearing disapproving mutters about his “delinquent” appearance when he passed the householders. (OOTP1)
This one’s a bit more depressing, but it’s something that I think holds true for many people of colour in places where they aren’t the majority. Whether in a local neighbourhood, with a police officer, or at an airport, it’s easy enough to think of an instance of racial profiling. Being treated as a threat by people who don’t really know you. In James and Sirius’s interaction with the police, up until that point they’re smarmy, sure, but have made no indication that they’re any kind of threat. They reach back in their pockets and immediately the assumption is that they have guns. Harry experiences similar profiling. In that same chapter, he talks about how some of the neighbourhood kids are afraid of him. Admittedly, he’s got the Dursleys’ badmouthing and the state of his clothing going against him, but James is well-dressed and cared-for and still treated as if he might become violent.
Nuanced Representation Through James
This point is less about the text itself, and more about how interpreting James as a person of colour is beneficial to readers of colour. Although he sort of gets the least physical presence in the series, the things we do see inform us that he’s got quite the story. He’s described, along with Sirius, as “the cleverest [student] in school,” in POA, he becomes an animagus at the age of fifteen, and he saves the life of his worst enemy (who later sells him out to Voldemort). He dedicates his life to a war that his blood status exempts him from. And he’s got obvious flaws as well! He’s arrogant, sometimes rude, and loyal to the point of being blind to the possibility of betrayal. Of all of the Marauders’ era characters, James has some of the most interesting characterization. In a series where people of colour barely feature, the idea that someone like James (and subsequently Harry) could be men of colour is very exciting.
And, for what it’s worth, I actually think it’s kind of cool that James is so well-off financially. It’s not only a reversal of expectations with the earlier point of racially-coded insults, but also offers a version of an ethnic minority who doesn’t necessarily have a class disadvantage. And, if you’re on the Desi James train, it actually plays into a specific narrative of migration and employment for Indians in the UK prior to 1981. Racial discrimination and class do not always follow each other, and I think that disconnect can be jarring for those who consider themselves relatively privileged. Again, it’s something I think is interesting to explore.
Diverse Magical Heritage
Again, this idea comes down to personal preference. Since James comes from a long line of mostly pure-bloods, that means that if he is interpreted as a person of colour, there’s an entire magical tradition that can come with that. All of the HP spells are Latin-based, but if you read James as Desi (as I do) then there’s the potential for Sanskrit-based spells! Indian wizard holidays! If Christian wizards celebrate Christmas, surely Hindu wizards celebrate Diwali? Or Muslim wizards celebrate Eid? Not to mention the cool idea of life-cycle rites coming into play. I’d love to see a wizard version of annaprashan, where instead of reaching for just books or toys, you could have Harry reaching for a wand for power, or the Mahabharata for courage. Not to mention that James’ family has a long history in potions, which actually seems closer to Ayurvedic medicine than chemistry. There are so many possibilities that come from seeing James as a person of colour. These are only a few examples.

Welcome to A Cup-pella, Amy! We’re excited to have you and Brandy Weston in the game! Please go through the checklist to make sure you’re ready to go and send in your account within the next 24 hours.
OOC INFO
Name + pronouns: Amy, she/her Age: 23 Timezone: GMT Ships: Chemistry. Anti-Ships: No chemistry.
IC INFO
Full Name: Brandy Weston Face Claim: Anne Hathaway Age/Birthday: 27. November 22 1990. Occupation: Pharmaceutical rep Personality: Charming, confident, defensive, arrogant, passionate Hometown: Bozeman, Montana Bio: Brandy was born to single mother Alexandra Weston, in Bozeman, Montana. When she was younger, she’d always ask about her father, but her mother would always spin her some tale of a whirlwind romance that ended too soon. As she grew older, she learned that her magical father was just some dirtbag who left her mom as soon as she fell pregnant. Even though Brandy grew up with very little, she grew up grateful. Grateful for her mother, who busted her ass at two jobs to ensure that Brandy wasn’t that kid at school with the raggedy hand-me-downs.
Brandy vowed that as soon as she was old enough, she’d find a way to repay her mother for all she did for her. She’d get herself a swanky job in a big city, buy her mother a house, and say a great big thank you. Yet as she grew older, she was less interested in the academics, and more interested in the arts. She dreamed of one day becoming an actress, but she knew that the likelihood of ever getting there was pretty low. It wasn’t until she got the lead role in her high school production, that Alexandra urged her to pursue her passion, and apply for musical theatre at Berklee.
College was truly eye-opening for Brandy. Being apart from her mom was hard - Alexandra really was her best friend, and she missed her every single day. But college really taught her how to live - how to be more confident, how to stand up for herself, and how to explore her sexuality. She found herself sleeping with plenty of guys and girls, before realising that she was only really interested in connecting romantically with women. Sex was one thing she knew she was good at, though, and so she began sex work as a way to get some extra cash. It paid more and was less time consuming than a waiting job, and though she could never quite explain why, it empowered her.
After college, Brandy ran off to New York, her head still filled with her big dreams of being a star. Though as we know, things don’t always go to plan. With the exception of the odd am-dram performance, and independent movies, she hasn’t really made much of a name for herself. So she did what she promised her mom she’d never do - she gave up. A friend of hers helped her find a job as a pharmaceutical rep - it was good money, and her charm and charisma made her an absolute natural at it. Brandy hates being told she gave up, though. She thinks of it as merely taking a break. Even if that break has been years long.
Pets: None, but she really wants a dog.
Relationships:
- Rachel Berry: Rachel is Brandy’s old flame, if you can really call it that. Whilst they could call themselves friends, the fact is that it was always much more than that. Boyfriends and girlfriends would come and go, but every time they were single, they’d be drawn back to each other and they’d find themselves in the others bed. When Brandy heard that Rachel had finally made her way to New York, she was over the moon to be reunited with her friend. And if they fell back into old habits, then she wouldn’t say no.
- Chloe Anderson: Brandy likes the finer things in life, but even on her salary, she couldn’t quite afford the apartment she truly wanted. That’s when she found Chloe. The two get along great - they give each other the space they need, but they’re both always 100% ready for a wine and Hamilton sing-a-long evening.

New Post has been published on http://www.lifehacker.guru/48-celebrities-no-idea-related/
48 celebrities you had no idea were related
You likely already know about the Olsen twins and their younger sister Elizabeth, as well as Dave and James Franco or Luke and Owen Wilson. And you’ve already learned about all the celebrity pairs that are best friends, but there are quite a few famous faces that you probably didn’t know were all in the same family.
Keep reading to see the 48 celebrities you probably never knew were related.
Amy Daire contributed to a previous version of this article.
New York Senator Chuck Schumer is cousins with comedian and actress Amy Schumer.

Senator Schumer is a first cousin to Amy Schumer’s father, making them first cousins once-removed. They don’t make a ton of appearances together, but they do use their joint star power every now and again.
The two Schumers spoke at a joint press conference for gun reform in 2015 after a fatal shooting which happened during a screening of Amy’s movie “Trainwreck.”
Then in 2017, Amy publicly defended Senator Schumer after President Donald Trump called him “Fake Tears Chuck Schumer” in a tweet.
Emily Blunt is Stanley Tucci’s sister-in-law, which means John Krasinski is Tucci’s brother-in-law.

Emily Blunt inadvertently played matchmaker when her “Devil Wears Prada” co-star Stanley Tucci met her sister, Felicity, at Emily Blunt and John Krasinski’s wedding in 2010.
Tucci married Felicity Blunt two years later, and the happy couple have two children together (just like Emily Blunt and Krasinski). All four siblings-in-law recently walked the red carpet during the premiere of Krasinski and Emily Blunt’s new hit movie “A Quiet Place.”
Singers Ray J and Brandy are siblings, but they are also cousins to rapper Snoop Dogg.

Singers and siblings Brandy and Ray J have made their typical brother-sister relationship pretty public. Like most siblings, they post pictures of one another to their social media accounts, walk the red carpets together, and sometimes they even talk or argue over Twitter.
Meanwhile, the pair are also close with their cousin Snoop Dogg. Snoop has collaborated with Brandy and used her in a music video, and he had Ray J as a guest on his YouTube show where he introduced him as “my cousin, my family, my familia.”
Singer Lily and “Game of Thrones” actor Alfie Allen are brother and sister.
Siblings Lily (left) and Alfie Allen (right) in 2007.

Talent clearly runs in the family seeing as she’s a famous singer and he’s made waves as Theon Greyjoy on “Game of Thrones.” Like most siblings, they seem to have a love-hate relationship.
The singer once wrote a song about her brother needing to get a job and several years later slammed “Game of Thrones” during a Reddit AMA saying that she was offered a incestuous cameo to play his sister on screen. Alfie then denied that fact.
“The only thing I’m going to say on that is that it’s not true,” he said to Vulture. “And also that Gemma Whalen was always their first choice for the part. And she’s fantastic. And that’s the one thing I’m going to say about that.”
Since then he’s “banned” her from discussing the show at all.
Jason Momoa is the stepfather of Zoë Kravitz.

Momoa has been with Kravitz’s mother, Lisa Bonet, for 12 years. The happy couple got married in a quiet ceremony this October, making Momoa the official stepfather of Kravitz. The new family members have shared sweet Instagram photos of themselves together, including one where Kravitz called Momoa “papa bear.”
Momoa and Bonet also have two other children together — Nakoa-Wolf Manakauapo Namakaeha Momoa and Lola Iolani Momoa.
Speaking of the Kravitz family, TV personality Al Roker and singer Lenny Kravitz are distant cousins.

On an episode of “Today,” Roker and Kravitz discussed that they both have the Roker genes in them. This led Roker to do some investigating, and he later revealed that their grandfathers were actually cousins. They have quite a few people between them a far as the family tree goes, but blood is blood.
“All I know is I’m going with it,” Roker said on the show. “Kids think it’s cool.”
The Coppolas and Schwartzmans are all related to Nicolas Cage.
Francis Ford Coppola (right), Jason Schwartzman (center), and Nicolas Cage (left).

This is one famous family. Francis Ford Coppola, who directed “The Godfather” among other films, is the uncle of the Schwartzmans. Jason Schwartzman earned his fame in movies like “Rushmore” and “Moonrise Kingdom,” but his younger brother is also recognizable. Robert Schwartzman was in “The Princess Diaries,” though he’s given up acting since.
Francis is also the father to Sofia Coppola, who directed “Lost in Translation” and “The Bling Ring.”
All of these people are also related to actor Nicolas Cage, who changed his name from Coppola to avoid any nepotism in the industry. Francis is Nic’s uncle, making the Schwartzmans are his cousins.
Jenny and Melissa McCarthy are cousins.
Cousins Jenny (left) and Melissa McCarthy (right).
Jason Merritt/Getty Images and Kevork Djansezian/Getty Images
The famous actresses may share a last name, but many never made the connection. Jenny has even shared a throwback picture of the two of them when they were children.
The actresses might be in the same business, but their careers haven’t overlapped and the two don’t seem to be very close. Melissa, for example, didn’t attend Jenny’s wedding back in 2014. That might have something to do with a report claiming that Jenny thought her cousin needed to lose weight to make it in Hollywood, even though Jenny firmly denies it.
“There is a crazy story going around that I once told my cousin, Melissa, that she would have to lose weight in order to get into show business. Nothing could be further from the truth,” Jenny told PEOPLE.
Joan and John Cusack are siblings.
John (left) and Joan Cusack (right) in 2013.

John and Joan Cusack have both made names for themselves in the movie industry and have been in 10 movies together. Yet many don’t realize that they’re brother and sister.
Joan gives credit to her brother for encouraging her throughout her career in the hectic industry.
“I think it helps to know another person in the business, because everything is such an illusion, so it’s great to be able to go, ‘Oh, my God! This is how it really is!’ or ‘This is how it happens there!'” she told AV Club. “You know, ’cause nobody knows any of it. People know more now in general, I think. So I think it was helpful to have each other.”
Actors Warren Beatty and Shirley MacLaine are siblings as well.

Alberto E. Rodriguez/Getty Images
These actors don’t share a last name because Shirley uses her middle name MacLaine. The two also don’t share any movie credits and MacLaine recently noted that they likely never will.
“Oh, I don’t think we’d be a good team,” she once told Closer at the TMA Heller Awards.
As for Beatty? He doesn’t think so poorly of the idea.
“Not a bad idea,” he said on “CBS Sunday Morning,” with one exception: “I think we shouldn’t play man and wife.”
“Grey’s Anatomy” actress Jessica Capshaw is director Steven Spielberg’s stepdaughter.
Jessica Capshaw (left) and Steven Spielberg (right) in 2012.

The “Grey’s Anatomy” actress didn’t exactly grow up with Steven Spielberg, but since her mother married him in 1991, they’ve gotten close. With such a big name in the industry, you’d think that he was to thank for her start, but according to her, it wasn’t so easy.
“In a lot of ways it was actually not helpful to have famous parents because there is definitely a very human feeling of, ‘Well, when you come from all that, who wants to see that girl succeed.’ You want to see the underdog succeed, the girl who spent her last two dollars on the bus ticket,” she said in an interview with USA Today.
Actors Hallie and Jesse Eisenberg are brother and sister.
Hallie (left) and Jesse Eisenberg (right).

Hallie Eisenberg had one of the most recognizable faces in the world in the late ’90s. She was practically the face of Pepsi, not to mention she landed leading roles in movies like “Bicentennial Man” and “The Miracle Worker.”
She’s taken a leave from acting since then, but her older brother is still making the family name known in Hollywood. He’s Oscar-nominated and famous for roles in several movies, including “Batman v Superman” and “The Social Network.”
Jesse recently revealed on “The Tonight Show” that they’re living together. Jimmy Fallon asked him about his sister’s boyfriend Owen Danoff, who was fighting for fame on season 11 of “The Voice,” and Jesse told him that they’re all roommates.
“He is my sister’s boyfriend, but also my roommates, ’cause, I mean, they live with me,” he explained. “We have separate rooms but essentially he’s a roommate.”
Actor Martin Sheen is father to actors Charlie Sheen and Emilio Esteves.

It’s known pretty far and wide that Charlie Sheen is Martin Sheen’s son. After all, they share both a name and a striking resemblance to one another. However, many people might not known that Martin Sheen has another famous son, Emilio Esteves.
The trio of Sheens have had their ups and downs. Many speculate that it’s a battle between brothers, but their dad is proud of them both.
“This morning, as I watched him alone, reveal his deepest, darkest secret, I couldn’t believe the level of courage I was witnessing, and that it was my son,” he said after Charlie revealed that was HIV-positive to Matt Lauer. “I left him a message, and I said that if I had that much courage, I would change the world.”
He also worked side-by-side with Emilio on 2012’s “The Way,” and claims that there’s no one better to work with,
“From my point of view there’s nothing better,” he said in an interview with The Guardian. “I’d work with him for the rest of my life, frankly.”
Swedish actor Stellan Skarsgård is father to Bill and Alexander Skarsgård.
Alexander Skarsgård (left) and his father, Stellan Skarsgård (right).
Kevin Winter/Getty Images
Stellan Skarsgård has several credits under his belt. He’s been in “Good Will Hunting” and “Mamma Mia!” as well as Marvel’s “Thor” and “Avengers” films. His son Alexander is stealthy competition though. He hit fame with his steamy role in “True Blood” and has starred in “The Giver” and HBO’s “Big Little Lies.”
Stellan and Alexander went head-to-head on Fourth of July weekend in 2016 when Stellan’s movie “Our Kind of Traitor” opened against Alexander’s “The Legend of Tarzan.” According to Los Angeles Daily News, Stellan was pretty thrilled about the competition.
“I think he’s got more backing and more screens,” he said in the interview. “Still, it’s fun.”
In the end, Alexander got the bragging rights.
Then Alexander’s younger brother, Bill, had a breakout role in 2017’s reboot of “It” where he played Pennywise the Clown. The movie became one of the highest grossing horror films of all time.
Actresses Blake and Robyn Lively are half-sisters.

Christopher Polk/Getty Images
Serena van der Woodsen and the Teen Witch herself are truly sister goals. They’re often seen together at award shows and fashion shows, and Robyn is the godmother to Blake’s kids.
Robyn and Blake even joke about whose kids are whose.
“She has my children and I have her children, [and] we’re like, ‘No, those are my children!’ She’s like, ‘No, your children are my children.’ We always argue about it. She’s the best,” she recently said to ET.
“Fantastic Beasts” actress Katherine Waterston is the daughter of actor Sam Waterston.
Katherine Waterston (left) and her father, Sam Waterston (right).

You probably recognize Sam from his roles in hit shows like “Law & Order” and “The Newsroom.” His daughter became an actor, too, but she’s usually seen on the big screen. Most recently she played Tina Goldstein in the “Harry Potter” spin-off “Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them.”
Despite this huge success, her acting career wasn’t as easy as you’d think it would be for the daughter of a famous actor.
“When you are the kid of an actor, it’s always a very inviting world,” Waterston said in an interview with The Sydney Morning Herald. “Everyone is nice to you, the hair and make-up people braid your hair and play with you, and the costume department makes outfits for your teddy bears. It’s really misleading, because then when you actually go to pursue a career in acting, you realize that people aren’t so friendly.”
In fact, she couldn’t even land a role on her dad’s “Law & Order,” a show that “every actor in New York” can get a credit for.
Superstar Tom Cruise and “Lost” actor William Mapother are cousins.
Cousins Tom Cruise (left) and William Mapother (right).
Michael Loccisano/Getty Images and Ken Ishii/Getty Images
Tom Cruise is one of the biggest international movie stars, but he’s not the only actor in the family. His cousin William Mapother has starred in shows like “The Mentalist” and “Lost.” Mapother has also had cameos in three of Cruise’s movies and small roles in two others.
Unfortunately, Mapother doesn’t discuss his cousin very often.
“I’m not answering any questions about him because I’ve learned that unfortunately, nearly anything I write/say about him gets taken out of context,” he wrote in a Reddit AMA two years ago. “So it’s easier and safer to say nothing.”
Actor Antonio Banderas used to be actress Dakota Johnson’s stepfather.

Stephen Shugerman/Getty Images
The “Fifty Shades of Grey” actress is no newbie in the film industry. She grew up with Antonio Banderas after he married her mother actress Melanie Griffith when she was just a child (her dad is none other than actor Don Johnson).
With a family like that, it’s almost impossible not to get into acting.
Griffith and Banderas were together until 2015, but despite the split, he has nothing but kind words and admiration for his former stepdaughter and her career.
“Dakota didn’t want our help. Every time that she was called for a movie [she said] ‘I don’t want you guys to be there, I don’t want them to know that you are my mother’ or who [is] her real father, her biological father Don [Don Johnson]. She didn’t want help. She has been very honest in that aspect,” he said during a guest appearance on ITV’s “Loose Women.”
Actor Christian Bale also had a famous stepparent — he used to be feminist icon Gloria Steinem’s stepson.
Christian Bale (left) and activist Gloria Steinem (right).
Frazer Harrison/Getty Images and Frederick M. Brown/Getty Images
He’s an actor with a rumored anger problem and she’s a feminist icon and hero. You probably wouldn’t have suspected that their paths had ever crossed, but she’s actually his stepmother.
Steinem married Bale’s father David when Christian was well into his twenties. They were married for three years before David passed away in 2003.
Steinem still thinks of Christian affectionately though.
“He is a very good person, a great lover of animals, and an immensely talented actor. He’s married with two children and lives in California,” she said in a piece for Daily Life. “I don’t see him that often, but we’re in touch from time to time.”
Actress Julia Roberts is actress Emma Roberts’ aunt.
Julia Roberts (left) and Emma Roberts (right) arrive at the premiere of “Valentine’s Day.”

These leading ladies have been very public about their familial ties. They speak about each other in interviews, post heartwarming pictures of each other, and according to Julia, spend lots of time together.
“She’s so lovely,” Julia said during an interview with Allure. “We spend a lot of time together. Emma is a remarkable girl.”
Even though they spend so much time together, there’s one thing Julia will never do: take a part in or watch Emma on “American Horror Story.”
“I can’t even get though the commercials,” Julia once said to E! News. “I am the most fitful scaredy cat.”
Actress Bryce Dallas Howard is filmmaker Ron Howard’s daughter.
Bryce Dallas Howard (left) with Ron Howard (right) as he was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Alberto E. Rodriguez/Getty Images
Ron’s face might not be quite as recognizable as his daughter’s these days, but only because he spends his time behind the camera rather than in front of it. After acting in “The Andy Griffith Show” and “Happy Days,” Ron switched over to directing. His work includes “Apollo 13,” the Oscar-winning “A Beautiful Mind,” and “The Da Vinci Code.”
His daughter stayed in the family business, but took a different route. She’s acted in “The Village” and “Jurassic World.” But despite their different roles in the industry, he’s still an inspiration to her.
“He’s a dad, but also this extremely impressive individual. I really look up to him,” she said during an interview with UK’s Express. “It was a wonderful gift, growing up having a beautiful relationship with my dad.”
Actors Liev and Pablo Schreiber are half-brothers.
Liev (left) and Pablo Schreiber (right) circa 2006.

Pablo Schreiber is easier to place if you imagine him with a big mustache. He plays Mendez on Netflix’s “Orange is the New Black” and he’s the half-brother of Liev Schreiber, who’s starred in “Defiance” and “X-Men Origins: Wolverine.”
They’ve only acted in one movie together, but they spend time together off-screen. Liev recently tweeted a picture of one of their family outings.
