PART 1- ME
Hello, my name is Shelby i am a first time mom to a boy in my 30’s. Some say that means i’m ready for a baby but what they don’t know is i actually had my mind made up when I was 28 that if I didn’t have a baby by 30 I wouldn’t. I had my Beautiful baby boy 5 months before my 30th birthday.
Since then i have completely stepped away from my crazy 8-5 job and me & my boyfriend Jacob decided I would stay home and hold the fort down. Adjusting to the stay at home mom life and not having my steady income coming in that i had been used to since I was 16 years old has been a HUGE ADJUSTMENT to me.. don’t get me wrong i am loving the stay at home mom life. It’s just something i have to get used too, And HONESTLY I need to find another hobby to bring momma in some extra spending cash. [Still working on that.]
This blog is going to be about my blessed mess of a life, Rv life, small town Missouri country life, Boy mom life, & me trying to navigate through mom life at 30.
Some more about me i also have our two crazy dogs to care of. Charlie my 9 year old border collie mix, & my wild 5 year old Frenchie Blossom. They keep me on my toes, but not as much as my 7 month old Benjamin. I didn’t realize how much my life was missing until i had Benjamin this last April.
Back story i was with someone for almost 8 years. NEVER got pregnant, (not that we was trying, but we weren’t exactly NOT trying either.) Things were rocky, between me trying to love someone that worked like a dog never had time off for us {EVER} and also struggled with some mental health issues & major cultural differences. I wasn’t loving myself anymore at all. I was so consumed with helping the person i loved. I COMPLETELY lost myself. While i stayed in this relationship for 8 years my partner decided to leave me to “Work on himself” (I wish him the best i really do) I was devastated to say the least. It was a hard year for me. I didn’t understand how someone i stood by, helped, & cared for so much would do that or could do that to me but he did and it was time I FINALLY crawled out of the dark place i was in and put MYSELF first.
After 11 months of being single I had lost 70 pounds. That was something I had been struggling with and needed to do for years. I was going out more and feeling myself 😊 I decided i was going to get on the date site BUMBLE. (First time ever so i was nervous) I loved it because the guys couldn’t reach out to you. They could like you but you had to reach out to them. After being on it for about a week i got a notification from Jacob. OH. MY. GOSH. I thought he was dreamy. At first I didn’t think he could like me. But he did. I reached out to Jake. We hung out went out on a date. And the rest was history. ❤️ Me and Jake had only known each other for three months and i got pregnant. Some people would probably be freaking out.. but it wasn’t like that for us. We were both happy and both ready for a baby. I remember being so happy thinking that this was finally my time! We now have a beautiful, smart, healthy baby boy and i wouldn’t trade our life for anything in this entire world. I hope you all enjoy my ted talks and my rambling. More to come..
