Much like how Apple is highly complicit in Israeli apartheid and genocide against Palestinians, Samsung has also shown themselves to be actively complicit in apartheid and genocide.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It seems like ALL the major tech companies are actively supporting apartheid and genocide through investing in a settler colonial regime that is actively imposing apartheid on the people the regime is colonizing and comitting genocide against said people.
Boycott Apple, Boycott Samsung, Boycott HP, Boycott Intel, Boycott Dell, and Boycott ANY major tech company that is still going to be complicit in apartheid and genocide.
Free Palestine! Free Congo!
Boycott, Divest, and Sanction ANY and ALL companies that are actively complicit in apartheid Israel's genocide against the Palestinian people.

Boycotts have power in numbers, that is why we must keep focusing on the few we’ve been doing.
However, your individual consumption still matters and if you wish to keep a closer eye on it, that’s a good idea! No Thanks is an app that keeps a track of ALL brands and products that support Isreal, and it is updated regularly.
If you want to limit your money that goes towards supporting Isreal, this makes it easy!
It’s available for iOS and Samsung :)

Pardon me asking you a loaded question, but do you mind explaining the Free Sudan, Free Congo, etc? I already know at least the basics of Palestine, and I think me and other people who don't know about Free Congo, etc should educate ourselves on the matter. If you can't for whatever reason, is it possible to recommend a tumblr who can?
Hi there!!
I am not from either of those places so I will try to do the best I can to explain it briefly and link some resources at the bottom that can get you started!
Essentially both Sudan and the Democratic Republic of Congo are undergoing a silent genocide that is very similar to Palestine. They are also slightly connected as !zrael extracts diamonds from multiple South African countries like DRC and always had conflicts with Sudan who is one of Palestine’s staunch allies.
For Sudan specifically there are MILLIONS of civilians that are being displaced from their homes due to armed conflicts that are out of their control - conflicts that have become so intense that there have been reports of ethnic cleansing being present. Even prior to those conflicts the people have been suffering extreme weather, political unrest, and rising food prices which puts said millions in poverty.
For the DRC (and SPECIFICALLY DRC as the Congo is a separate entity that needs help in other areas) not only are there also millions being displaced but also millions that have been forced to work in mining caves under EXTREMELY INHUMANE conditions including children. This is why people from DRC have asked to boycott specific tech companies such as Samsung and Apple (as in do NOT buy anything new from them at present / to NOT promote said new products) as many of those tech companies rely on the cobalt that are being mined in DRC under these harsh conditions.
These are the links that explain the gist of what I said, but I highly encourage people to share more well informed articles with this post & do some research on their own (especially on the other countries I hadn’t mentioned like Yemen, Tigray, Lebanon who is Palestine’s neighbor, and many many more!)

I just feel like if people wanna talk about how boycotting doesn't work they're like...I feel like they don't understand somethings. 1) Money talks, in the world we are in money matters so when people start losing money esp CEOs or whatever that's when they start shaking in they boots, Yemeni people and Indigenous groups got in they boats and started blocking ships and people started taking note cause it was affecting their business
Like have we not seen reports of McDonald's and Starbucks losing money because of people boycotting?
Also, there is the BDS specific lists they have on their website, those for the average consumer, those for larger companies, pressure boycotts (I think the ones where it's a use only as needed i.e. Google and Amazon).
Then I mean to even go beyond that I wonder how many people really have looked into the companies that are funded by Israel. Like Ferrero is on the boycott list, they are in partnership with girl scout cookies like they are a part of the bakery, Honeywell makes Heaters and AC units if you live in the US and you have central AC they could possibly be powering your homes AC/heat, and Proctor and Gamble, Dove, Tampax, Always are on there too they make hygiene products, or for instance when I used to think of Nestle I was like oh the chocolate company but they also make water (or bottle it persay) they also own hot pockets, even freaking wal-mart is on the list and I know some people will not be able to boycott that
And this is just taking about Palestine.
I saw most horrific video yesterday of a woman in Congo talking about what soldiers did to her and her husband like her face is burned into my brain. And it's all for what? Phones and Cars and Tablets and Vapes. You know I bought a phone a year or two ago and that thing kicked the bucket after maybe a year but I turned on my older phone and I'm still using it now, so imagine us just not getting the new iPhone or Samsung (cause some ppl harping on Apple like 99 percent of tech companies are complicit) like children women and men are dying for what? And for why? So imagine if we all said keep it I'm good.
The power and the reach of boycotting is not to be understated imo and ppl writing it off as easy must not be seeing the laundry list of companies that are complicit in genocide in what is modern day slavery like...
I mean it's like I'm not perfect by no means but it's like if you don't want to boycott say that, if you don't always have the means that's understandable but don't lie and say it can't work or doesn't because the facts are that it does. At the very least it can help you be mindful of your consumption and where your money goes

I thought I should post this Tik Tok here because all of the points are valid and true. When you are posting on social media, you are reaching an audience of people who most likely dont have power and dont have a huge say in things and most likely already agree with you. We see this is a genocide. We consistently call for ceasefire.
It is easy sitting and typing this, spreading info and calling it a day. This is not enough. Your governors are not listening to you. They are not reading your emails and answering you calls. They do not care about you, the individual. It's sad but it sure as hell is the truth.
What we need to do is speak their language and the only language they seem to care about it money. Make sure these people in the government know that if they dont side with us with will not be re-elected and, more importantly, keep your word to that! Companies who are not supporting the cause should be boycotted. It'll suck not getting something you want but it is worth it for the cause! An actor doesnt agree with ceasefire? Boycott their movies. It wont hurt them individually, but it will hurt the movies thus leading to them being appointed to less roles due to profits.
Protest! I mean go to the streets and protest! It's scary, it's going to be scary but we have to do it. Remember to hide your identity when protesting too. The mass group of people inflicting the day to day of companies and people in power will show.
If you want an animated movie, don't buy Disney, find something indie (it seems to be better quality anyway), if you want Starbucks, go to a local coffee shop instead. If you need electronics, do research and find a company that's better than Samsung or Apple. I am not telling you to give up everything for this (although we should be willing to) but take the effort to do something else!
Companies listen to money, not us. Use that agaisnt them. Move past the education phase. We already are educated. Let's start actually have some action.

Let me preface that I'm not well spoken on political topics. But what I do find odd is people struggling to boycott food products. Obviously, it isn't as easy as "oh lets boycott all of these" because there are Way Too Many companies that fund Russia/Israel because "ouhch but our business partner 🥺." Your business partner has blood on their hands. Anyway. Not the point rn.
However when it comes to organized boycotts or being aware of brands that support genocide. I fail to understand why it's so difficult for people to just not buy those goods.
From what I'm aware, Milka, Oreo, Ben&Jerrys, Coca Cola group, Macdonalds, Starbucks all support oppressors. My hand does not reach for them at the store. I absolutely love Milka btw but knowing that they fund Russia makes me feel ill. Obvs with big name brands like Nestle and Coca Cola its really difficult because they own like half the products on the market. I bought Fanta the other day forgetting that CC owns it lol. But you get my point, right.
We don't have Starbucks so I can't speak on that but it can't be the only coffee shop nearby if you really need that overprized big drink. Theres 5 million other burger joints you could go to. Milka isn't the only chocolate brand. Coca Cola isn't the only soda brand. Ben&Jerrys is overpriced, get some cheaper ice cream.
What's a bit more tricky imo is big internet/tech companies. Boycotting Google??? Virtually impossible as every goddamn thing is owned by that thing. Youtube, Drive, the search engine (do not tell me about duckduckgo it sucks), everything. Obviously there are alternatives but it's so much more difficult to escape Google than it is to avoid McDonalds.
Adobe??? I'm forced to sell my soul for them because of school and while it is easy to pirate, with fonts it's a big gamble of legalities and in work spaces creative cloud is shared along. It is easy to boycott it but if you have to work in the industry you are. Kind of doomed.
Apple, Samsung, HP. Again, I dont know the details for HP but with Samsung and Apple i think they condemed Russia but continue to sell there. I don't know if other tech companies like Lenovo or... i dont know more... it's just difficult with those. Which is why organized boycotting exists.
But for goods like food and drinks I don't see a reason why it would be so difficult to just... not consume them
My thoughts on boycotting that plaque me daily 👍
