The crisis in Congo continues, and unfortunately, even though the year has just begun, we've already seen a significant escalation in the conflict, particularly in eastern Congo near the borders with Uganda and Rwanda. Rebel militias that are often funded by those nations have increased their activities, using various munitions to kill civilians, terrorize communities, and drive people off their land so that industrial mining operations can be set up.
Over the next few months we hope to raise a level of funds more consistent with the gravity of the issues at hand and the scale of the solutions that our partners work towards and envision. To make that happen, we'll need your support. Reach out to ten times as many people, share this with ten times as many people, donate what you can, can learn ten times as much about whats going on.

It makes me so incredibly sad that horrific stuff in places like Palestine, Congo,Sudan and more were happening and I had no idea, you think in school they would say " hey this part of the world has awful stuff happening " I took AP World History and didn't find out about this stuff till October...
So it always baffles me when ppl are like "r u sure you wanna support that"
Are you kidding me??
I would've long time ago if they didn't hide it. And ironically, october was supposed to convince ppl they were the T* when really it only opened up everyone's eyes.

They don't want us to call what's happening in Gaza a genocide not because there's not been an official ruling but because these things don't get set in people's minds via official ruling. Instead it is the oral history that sets an event into place in mass consciousness.
Us calling it what it is - a genocide - means they can't wriggle out of it in years to come. They can't continue to call it a conflict or a war if we cement it in public consciousness as a genocide.
So don't tone down your language. Call it what it is. Make sure the history books know what happened and the genocides that took place in Palestine, Sudan, Congo.

I鈥檓 really glad that Aaron鈥檚 self-immolation for Palestine is getting attention, but on November 8th there was also a Congolese man who did the same thing for the genocide happening in the DRC. From what I read in the article above, his fate and identity are unknown but I think his story should be getting equal amount of traction and I haven鈥檛 really seen anyone talking about it on Tumblr specifically yet.

More affluent older white people jeering and making a mockery of this young person who refuses to be complacent in Google's complicity in the ongoing genocide against Palestinian people. The raw materials used to make their products also depend on exploiting Congolese people -including young children, who mine for cobalt. Google, Apple -any company that relies on suffering, destruction, and death of ANY community around the world needs to be stopped. Keep boycotting. Keep speaking up about these injustices.

Ramadan Kareem to all those who observe, may Allah accept our fasts and duaa and allow us growth and harmony over the course of the next month. May Allah ease the suffering of those in Gaza and across Falasteen, Sudan, Congo, Yemen, Tigray, Kashmir, West Papau, and all those who are oppressed around the world. May He grant them shifa, tranquility, steadfastness, and sabr. May He grant us the strength and ability to fight injustice wherever we see it, and victory over our oppressors.
Here is a list of resources for Gaza and Falasteen. Here is an even bigger list. Here鈥檚 a much smaller one. Here is one with resources for both Gaza and Sudan.
Here is the link to a GFM that is very important to me. Here is the link to a GFM for a family in urgent need of evacuation out of Gaza.
Here is a way to help out Sudan. Here are links for donations, Sudanese businesses to support, and brief education about Sudan. Here is a post with resources for education and updates about what's happening in Sudan.
Here is a post with resources for Tigray.
Here is a post with important information on boycotting for Congo. Here is a post with links to support Congo.
Here is a list of resources for education on various issues around the world, including but not limited to West Papau, Hawai'i, Kashmir, and Armenia.
You can check my resources tag for more. I know tumblr's searching system isn't the best, though, so I tried to put as many as I could from that tag here.
Ramadan Kareem. May every action we take towards justice bring us lasting freedom and tranquility 馃寵

what's going on in the congo since there's also a genocide happening over there as well:
to sum it up, people in the congo are literally being worked as slaves to mine for this material called coltan, which is very valuable as its used for things like phones, laptops, just electronics in general. Congo is the number 1 producer for this material and the places behind this genocide is America, Britain, France, and Israel, wow what an absolute shocker. The worst places probably to ever exist benefit from a genocide. These places are funding Rwanda and Uganda military groups, to go into the Congo and kill MILLIONS of people. This has also been going on for YEARS. Many women have been SA'd and men are forced to work in INHUMAN conditions, resulting in their death and the colonizers are absolutely benefitting from this. 6 MILLION people have been killed and half of them are literally kids. Many of the Congolese people have also been displaced.
Please speak out about and raise your voice
