Blusher (Amanita rubescens)

The blushers are out! This is another herald of the soon-to-come summer mushrooms; it is a substantial edible that is commonly available and widely spread long before chicken of the woods and (in the cooler parts of the UK at least) many oyster mushrooms.

These fungi can be recognised by their pinkish tinge which is exacerbated by any damage to the gills or flesh.

If it is to be eaten, care should be taken not to confuse it with other, poisonous Amanitas, and also to cook it thoroughly, as it is itself poisonous in its raw form, containing a hemolytic toxin that causes anemia, but is broken down when the mushroom is properly cooked.

The blusher 》 Amanita rubescens

I'm always excited after a heavy rain and I'm rarely disappointed. These were not the only amanitas I found yesterday. They greeted me as I was coming in from the parking lot and really lifted my spirits before a stressful math exam. 🧡

This species along with several related amanita species are named for their tendency to bruise pink when damaged.

My Mini Makeup Autumn/Winter Routine

Follow these steps in order:

Concealer- Apply on eyelids and under the eyes. Applying on eyelids will help powdered eyeshadow stay and keep your look for longer!

Eyelash Curler- Curl your lashes to make them more defined and this will help lift your eyes.

Eyeshadow- Apply a light blue on your eyelids, the aim is to get a frosted glow look. If you want to sparkle it up, you can add some silver liquid glitter eyeshadow to the corners of your eye.

Black Eyeliner- Apply a thin line of black or brown eyeliner to the top eyelash line. You want it to subtle not overpowering.

Cream eyeliner- Apply a cream eyeliner pencil to the waterline of your eye. It brightens up your eyes and makes them bigger. (I got this tip from a VS model!♡)

Black Mascara- Apply black or brown mascara to your top and bottom eyelashes

Blusher- For a rosy cheek look use red blusher instead of pink. This looks more realistic and less fake like the pink is.

Lipgloss- Now to finish your look you should apply your favourite lipgloss. My favourite lipgloss is Victoria secret cherry bomb. Clear lipgloss would also work too.

Hi guys,

A few blog posts ago I introduced you all to the brand new Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Matte Beauty Blush Wands , £30.00 and originally I purchased 2 shades called Pillow Talk (exclusive to online) and Pink Pop. Now naturally by now you all know I have issues when it comes to self control so I ended up adding another shade to my collection. Today we are chatting about the stunning shade Peach Pop!

If you missed my previous post Charlotte released a brand new product and formula called the Matte Beauty Blush Wands, they are £30 each and come in 4 shades. These blushes are stunning because they flawlessly blend into your face base and since it's a matte formula it is more pigmented and long lasting then the more glowy blushes.

Since I already owned 2 pink shades in this collection I decided for spring and summer why not purchase a slightly brighter shade so I added Peach Pop in my basket. This shade is more of a coral tone so on my it's brighter than the original 2 I picked up. Normally this isn't a shade I would go for but once I saw the swatch and how it looked blended it, I think it's my new favourite shade. If you want to see the full range of colours available as always I have linked them above, though I'd be quick ordering because they are selling fast!
