whats the worst blunder/inaccurate paleo related thing youve ever drawn? like for example you draw a creature and a paper comes out that the way you drew it is completely inaccurate, or just general goofs and such on the paleostreams
Oof, going straight for the nuts are we?
Ok, first thing that comes to my mind is this pieces from my early days on Deviantart
Tumblr media
This is in hindsight a horrible piece.
However there is a piece that I think is more embarrassing and that's this Spinophorosaurus that I did for the press release. I had totally forgotten that the spines on the end of the tail were by now recognized as part of the pectoral girdle.
Tumblr media
The tail wasn't a important part of the paper but still felt really bad about it. The day it came out I realized my mistake and rushed to make a new version.
Tumblr media
I usually don't have that many blunders on the streams because there is a bunch of people that also look at it and let me know if they know something better than me or if I use the wrong reference. Paleontology is such a vast field that it's impossible to be informed about all things at all time.

Oh my god you guys I don't think I've ever made a blunder quite like this one. I don't like to toot my own horn but I'm a pretty good knitter, can read my work very well, figure out A. When I've made a mistake and B. How to fix it
But this time I have no fuckin idea how I messed up this bad lmao
Tumblr media
That's a standard size hardcover book and a NEARLY DONE (per the pattern) fully bobbled shawl.... that might fit a toddler
Because this whole time I've been using needles a full FOUR sizes smaller than called for. Yes pals, I'm using size 4 needles instead of size 8. How? How?? All along I must have been deluding myself thinking it would block out bigger--and it will--but not that much! Lord. My plan is to just keep going until it's a normal size or I run out of yarn. Insert idiot sandwich gif

Maybe Elon will give Hamas and its sponsors free checkmarks for increasing traffic on an increasingly dysfunctional platform.
Hamas and Elon Musk deserve each other. They do awful things and then get their stooges to cheer them on. And both make bad decisions.
The Self-Destruction of Hamas The militant group’s acts of terror have united a divided Israel against them.
Hamas’s massacre of 1,200 Israeli civilians, in addition to being the greatest humanitarian outrage ever visited on the state of Israel, is also an act of both rehabilitation and self-erasure. Overnight, Hamas reestablished the legitimacy of the Israeli government, which had been hanging by a thread under an authoritarian prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, currently on trial for corruption by a judiciary whose independence he’s trying to destroy. Hamas also allied itself with its own gravediggers by guaranteeing a furious military response, which has already begun, in which Israel will endeavor to remove every trace of the terrorist group from Gaza. The Hamas incursion, which (according to The Wall Street Journal) was plotted in collaboration with Iran, was not just obscene; it will also, I think, enter the history books as one of history’s greatest tactical blunders. [ ... ] Israel’s hands are not clean going into Gaza. It is no longer controversial to describe Israel’s policies toward Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank as a form of apartheid. [ ... ] But it’s worth noting one key moral difference. Israel, at the very least, consistently denies that it targets civilians deliberately. Hamas has never pretended to consider civilian targets illegitimate. Hamas will surely keep its promise to retaliate against Israeli bombings and the imminent Israeli invasion by killing many, if not all of, its Israeli hostages. That’s repugnant. It’s also just stupid. What were Hamas’s (and, if The Wall Street Journal’s reporting holds up, Iran’s) war aims? Peter Krause, a political scientist at Boston College, told The Washington Post’s Marc Fisher that Hamas’s goal was to terrorize Israel, provoke a disproportionate reaction, and thereby scuttle the official normalization of relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia.  The first two parts of this game plan resemble what Al Qaeda envisioned on 9/11. The attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, and the slaughter of 2,977 civilians, did indeed terrorize the United States and prompt a disproportionate—and, for Al Qaeda, ruinous—military response.
[ ... ] Hamas’s weak tactical reasoning is not atypical for terror groups. Terrorists almost never get what they want. The Irish Republican Army did not chase Britain out of Northern Ireland. The Baader-Meinhof Gang did not subsume West Germany into the Communist East Germany. The Proud Boys did not overturn the 2020 election. The only straight-up terrorist victory I can call to mind is Gavrilo Princip’s assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, which in 1914 provoked a world war that led to the dissolution of Austro-Hungary, thereby freeing his beloved Bosnia from that empire. But even here, Princip’s ultimate aim went unrealized. It would take the better part of a century—and bloodshed galore—before Bosnia and Herzegovina became an independent state.
Some people might describe Elon Musk as a type of social media terrorist. At least in terms of his internet bomb-throwing, he's not likely to be a long-term success.

Sometimes Fake Smiles are Beautiful
If our phones can talk in its own, well with the right prompt it does, it will tell stories of places where we have been, moments we tend to immortalize for as long as we are here and reliant on our phones’ battery health and storage capacity, people we shared those moments with. It will narrate exclusive stories of outtakes and blunders, taking pleasure in eavesdropping on our phone…

Rejection is encouragement - 10/4/23
I hope everyone is doing okay. I feel that happiness doesn’t last for me. I feel good one day and I am grateful just for the feeling to be taken away by work. I just got off work, it’s 6:30pm and sitting here wondering what I should title my entry. I do have a lot to write about my long day. I was so busy I lost track of time. I’m alone, working and under pressure because I am carrying a heavier…

A Week of Wonderfully Malefic Melodies: The Encore!!! Oh, Bethesda Game Studios. How the mighty have fallen. I mean, they already pulled some pretty shady stuff prior to 2018 like their treatment of Madia Entertainment or unleashing the prototype predatory microtransaction that was horse armor. However, over the past few years, the camel’s back has snapped in half from the amount of straw dumped on it. How much metaphorical hay? Enough for self-proclaimed shitpost band, The Chalkeaters, to give game director and Bethesda’s front man, Todd Howard, his own villain song that chronicles the many, many stupid blunders and false promises of a game studio with a once sterling reputation. Of course, even if you don’t care about any of that, it's still a super fun and jazzy showtune that would fit right in with any number of more mainstream malefic melodies. A wonderful showing to be sure. What’s left to say but “It Just Works!”.
youtube
BONUS WONDERFUL!!!: Ok, so this isn’t a villain song but as I was building this post, I found out that these are the same guys that did an Animal Crossing X Doom Eternal animated music video a friend showed me and that blew my mind so I’m just going to include it here. Think of it as a Meat or Treat song for the upcoming occasion…something about that doesn’t sound right but I’m sticking to my guns. Preferably a Super Shotgun.

Latest blunder flashback:
When I was about 14, I went to a friend's house, either for a sleepover or just for dinner. Either way we planned to eat there, so I made sure to tell her I didn't eat meat.
We went there straight from school, so it was pretty early, but when we got there, her mum gave us each a plate with a burger and a wrapped cheese slice on it, and had us take them upstairs to my friend's room.
At some point, my friend looked down and said "Aren't you going to eat yours?"
Up until that point..... I had been planning to!! I don't know if it was the polite reflex or maybe the nerves of being there for the first time, but for whatever reason, I was on autopilot. Up until that second, I didn't even register the problem.
When I nervously answered and reminded her I was vegetarian, it was a surprise to Both of us. She apologised a Lot, and was really embarrassed. Meanwhile I was just stunned thinking... If she hadn't called attention to it.. would I have realised before I bit into it? Would I have eaten the whole thing?? And gotten home and had mum ask what our dinner was and answered "burgers" and had mum look confused and say "veggie burgers?" and only realised Then that, No, They weren't!? And it's not even like I was just raised vegetarian and hadn't decided yet, it was the opposite! I would have been Devastated if I'd eaten meat, and I almost just did! Without even thinking about it!
But the thing that haunts me about it is.. while I was on autopilot....
I put the cheese in the burger.
