I’m tired of boring samey suggestions for comics runs to start people on. Here are 6 comic stories I bet plenty of you have never read, require very little context, and that I rate highly as far too much fun:-

Batman/Wildcat: are you in the mood for Bruce Wayne and Ted Grant tracking down an gambling ring over illegal cage fights and ending up in one with a bunch of villains, set in late 90s DC comics? Do you want it to be charming, silly, and full of people getting punched? Have I got the story for you.

Black Canary & Zatanna: Bloodspell: There’s a curse on a group of women Dinah knows that were hired to knock over a casino. Dinah investigates and gets Zatanna to help her sort out what’s happened. It’s a heist story meets magic.

Poison Ivy: Cycle of Life and Death: Ivy gets a job at a scientific lab and attempts to give up crime, while also growing a gaggle of fast-aging plant!Sim babies in her giant flowers. Yes. Really.

Arsenal 1998: Vandal Savage, the ultimate ancestor of Roy Harper, tries to kidnap Lian Harper for scientific experimentation. Roy and Dinah STRONGLY object. Famous for being the first time Lian Harper is actually a character not just a poppet in arms.

Arkham Manor: Wayne Manor gets turned over to Arkham Asylum to hold the patients. Bruce goes undercover as a patient to solve a murder mystery. Goofy plots involving various villains ensue.

Wonder Woman: The Hiketeia: okay this one is cheating, but if you haven’t read the Hiketeia you really should. A young woman in trouble uses an ancient Greek ritual to bind Diana to be her teacher and protector. Bruce comes to hunt her down for her crimes. Diana is sworn to intervene. Bruce ends up eating a lot of dirt.

I know this is kind of a minor thing but Zatanna as a biker chick in early JLD still feels so wrong.

That kind of thing is usually Black Canary's aesthetic? Or maybe Diana in scenarios where her power is gone. But Zatanna strapped in a leather jacket and riding a sportbike? It just doesn't fit.

Nevermind that Zee can teleport anywhere and can fly with her magic but in scenarios where she does use transport....

I can see her driving a Convertible or an RV (since she and her Dad likely travelled a lot) or a trailer that's been pulled by a car that's been magically driven (as seen in Bloodspell) but not a sport bike.

If it's a bike then maybe a scooter or a moped. Oh god, now I am imagining a scene set early in Zatanna's career where she and Mikey are being chased by a monster and Zee is on a Vespa while Mikey is desperately shooting a nail gun at the beast whenever it gets close.

ooh, how about the one where Fenris' sister actually was a high powered mage and overthrew Danarius and "liberated" Fenris to help her take over Tevinter (handwave how that happens) but the real story is that Sebastian ran away from the Chantry and ended up as Fen's 'bodyguard' and when Leandra died, Aeryn and Beth headed for Tevinter and Bethany was taken as an apprentice and Aeryn was supposed to end up a guard but was instead bloodspelled and ended up in a brothel. Fenris wins her in a bet and uh...y'know, this one ends up in a D/s threesome with collars and power dynamics but it's a pretty good daydream, lol

If Black Canary ever got her own solo series again

Ideas: Black canary is always on teams it'd be cool to see have her own long ruining series.

Her solo comics don't seem to sell well but also they really didn't seem like they knew what to do with her in the long run.

The comic runs of:

Green Arrow, Birds of Prey, Justice Leaque, JSA, Deathstroke Inc. , Bloodspell

For Black Canary II since the re-establish her old origin story. Read Infinte Frontier.

Batman Urban Legends issue 6:

The singer/band: Now the band thing was more of Dinah Drake for Rebirth ( band) but it did slip into Dinah Lance origin which was cool felt like a play off of her name. Cool that from her golden age you see her singing. The story ... till this day I barely get it but the concept was cool. I see them still mention it in other comics & webtoons. ( Was a graphic novel Ignite & some other light novel.)

JSA : Since Dinah & her mom has ties to the JSA it pretty fun to see them interact with the old gang. ( JSA 1999, Like old issues but she was there for a short time.)

Wildcat (Ted Grant) love to see the bond between them. Ted was her first teacher & her Uncle telling her old stories about JSA & her mother.

The bond between Family: The fact her family is from Gotham. Could show us her relationship with her parnets. Being a daughther of a cop & a superhero. How her mother didn't want her to follow in her footsteps. -birds of prey (1999) #100

Scream Queens: Gather all the other sonic screamers in DC and have them battle it out. ( Even though we see a snippet in action comics)

Leaque of Assassins: She is a street fighter so of course she will be seen fighting them every now & then. Also the Rah Al 's "sugar daddy' incident shit is so funny. ( Talia & Angel Breaker & Shiva)

Sin Lance: I mean why not the brought back Conner & Lian but not her feels like Bullshit to me.

Red Canary: She has a somewhat of a student called Red Canary hopefully we get to see them bond more.

Enemies : I really need for her to have people bring her down to the absolute worst moments ( Beside longbow hunters). Making her question her belife or methods of fighting. ( Other than Lady Shiva)

Duo comics: Be cool to see duo comics with some of her friends or new people. Like Huntress from JLU or lesser known characters it could be fun with a good writer.
