regarding to the question about km’s sexualities. i’d like to share my opinion, if you are not against it, i just wanted to rant, and its totally okay if you are not gonna post this, i just had to get it off of my chest yk, haha
so, imo, jimin is bi and he was silently screaming about it since 2015-2016, and his photofolio is a tiny coming out. but, i think he is a bi with male preference? like yeah, he CAN fall in love with woman, but he prefers men more (especially one particular man). and yeah, there are a lot of bi people craving for “normalcy”, so they try to choose the safest option — opposite sex partner, but. if you are head over heels and madly in love with someone already (which is jimins situation with jungkook, i assume) you won’t change the love of your life for a safety. it reminds me of how troye sivan said “gave up heaven so we could be together” tbh, because i think jimin is willing to take a risk just to be with jungkook and spend his life with him
and if we come to jungkook, then i’m pretty sure he is gay. i told that to a lot of people and usually they say shit like “have you SEEN jungkook?” or “his ideal type is iu”, like how dumb can people be..? first of all, his looks has nothing to do with his sexuality. he can wear black and be gay, or wear pink and be straight. “iu ideal type” thing is just so funny, when we are literally talking about a man, who described his ideal type as someone with muscles. (and correct me if im wrong, but jungkook said that when jimin was all big with muscles, and when jm became more pale, cute and wasn’t into that “masculine looks”, jungkook said his type is someone who is cute, even without an aegyo and some other stuff that literally screamed “jimin is my type”. isn’t this a lil sus, lmao).
and i’m not saying that they are queer just because i’m a jikooker and i’m sure that they have a thing with each other, but because they both have beated straight allegations yeaars ago.
so yeah, in conclusion: jikook are queer and they are the loves of each other’s lives, thanks for coming to my ted talk!!
All of this anon. All of fucking this. You've put it perfectly.
Can we for a second talk about the different reactions here?
Jimin and JK watching Hwasa (love her!) and you're gonna sit there and tell me JK is straight?
Tumblr media
He had a bigger reaction with Normani or was it Chloe at the AMAs? Anyway my point is while Mimi looks like he's enjoying the show, JK couldn't care less about Hwasa and her perfect cocacola bottle body. 🤭🤭 But yeah, sure. JK straight. Okay 😂😂

Okay I need to be working on the next TMNTTOBER prompt and I doubt my audience even knows or likes Gremlins but I wanna talk for a hot moment-
Tumblr media
Mohawk has been one of my favorite gremlin characters and I love him to bits. But after getting introduced to Claw and seeing some wonder if Claw would have reincarnated into Stripe who then reincarnated to Mohawk would it mean if they are actually women but no one bothered to ask if that is the case.
I took a closer look at Mohawk and was kind of surprised to see how he or she had rather... feminine features. Stripe's design looks more masculine and to me I have a hard time seeing feminine features on him. But with Mohawk there are some I really wanna point out.
Tumblr media
This is a close up and his full design. Compared to the other gremlins, he has a more slimmer sort of body to them. Something similar to Greta. Also to me I always thought Mohawk had some form of tits- His ears are curved in a way Claw's ears are as well.
Tumblr media
for reference sake so you can see.
Mohawk also seems to have black lips that could come off as black lipstick of sorts. Then there are his eyes. The marking make it look like eyeliner of sorts that are then shaped into eyelashes. His spikes also similar to Claw make it look like eyelashes as well if you look at it from another view. Then there is his voice. Which honestly sounds more high pitched in my opinion.
Sadly these are the only good videos I was able to download because I hate my life. Also Mohawk mostly makes weird ass noises rather then speaking often times like the rest of the gremlins. As a mogwai his voice was pretty high pitched, as a gremlin it is also somewhat still there. But I'd say it's more gargly and raspier, it sounds like Claw's voice. Also he is such a pussy in that last clip such a crybaby 🙄
Maybe I'm looking too hard into it but I am honestly thriving with the idea that Stripe and Mohawk were being total girlbosses the whole time XD (Disclaimer you aren't actually a girlboss if you torture, bully or abuse someone or try to cause chaos and destruction to people)
Thank you for coming to my ted talk, have a nice day.

Before this ted talk start, I just wanted to ask for any antifeminist, conservative, right wing or anything related to this to just, please, do not interact, like, reblog or do anything about this post. I'd be seriously disappointed in myself if any Christian right winged antifeminist agreed with me, because that's not the point of my life and 100% not the point of this post, so please, if you fall on the characteristics of this warning, ignore this post and go eat your hamburgers with cheese. Thank you.
Also, content warning for references to s/a.
Misandry, even if it's a understandable response to men in patriarchy, should not be apart of feminism.
Even tho I'm not a feminist, and will probably never be, because my experiences with patriarchy are from a trans non-binary point of view, and feminism is about women + another couple reasons, I would really like to point out something.
Misandry can't be apart of feminism because the patriarchy only protect cis heterosexual white men.
Using misandry in your feminism will ignore the experiences of trans and men of colour with patriarchy and how it fails to put them on privilege.
And no, I'm not invalidating your crippling fear and hatred of men that developed from being a woman getting abused by misogyny, because no 1⁰, I'm also deeply scared of men, and no 2⁰, I also have moments where my only reaction to cis & white people is deep breath so I'll not end up throwing hands (cause let's be honest, y'all are seriously dumb /j). But does that interfere on my black and queer discourses? Obviously not!
Because if I do let my honest disappointment with white and cishet people get to my activism, it will interfere negatively on it, because it block different perspectives from the system that affects me and my perception of how does it work. Same with feminism and misogyny.
If your honest disappointment with men get into your feminism, you won't be able to accept masculine perspectives on patriarchy, specially trans masculine and racialized masculine perspectives. And they are important because patriarchy literally fails with them!
Let's take rape culture and black men for an example.
We have fulano, a white man who has a literal fetish on 14 year old girls, and ciclano, a black man who got falsely accused of csa for money. (Based off of real life? Mmmm, maybeyy...~ But I won't drop names😘 but if you know me, you probably know who I'm talkin bout) Which one of these guys will be 100% protected by patriarchy?
Fulano. For fulano's case, patriarchy will use it's tactics and excuses to protect him. But for ciclano, if ciclano isn't on a environment of conservative black people, there will be hesitation on the protection. Because black men are deemed as aggressive and harmful to (mostly/specially to white) women.
Which is basically why the police only takes accusations from women seriously if they're against men of colour. If you, white girl, do an s/a accusation against a white boy, there will be little to no effect. But if you do it against a black boy, the shit going on with be completely different.
Am I saying that feminism should include men? Obviously not, because feminism is about women. But when we're talking about the patriarchal system in general, we should pay attention to different perspectives, because that'll get more knowledge on how does it work and how do we defeat it, because patriarchy is not only “men > women”; It's a system where white cisgender straight men get a privilege over any other type of person, be them a gay man, a cis asian woman, a black genderfluid person, etc.
Anyway, I hope y'all got my point. Kisses from Angel.

ok hi i read ur anon post i agree w everything n now i NEEED 2 know allll of ur thoughts abt colinmichael + colin's arc and also if u have any colinjamie/ bi jamie or roy hcs. love love love ur blog!!!!!😌💓💓💓🫂
First off, the serotonin you two anons are giving me is insane, this is such a nice ask and I am very happy rn. Thank you for actively inviting me to discuss my hyperfixation.
So most of my thoughts are compiled in the aforementioned anon post, but I have more so here you go:
Since you mentioned Colin's arc, there's something I've noticed. Ever since Colin has been canonicalized as queer, and even before when people simply headcanoned him as queer, his entire arc and history has been pretty much erased. He's not just this closeted guy on the team. He was a dick to Nate for the most of s1 and maybe even some of s2, but then had an uno reverse card pulled on him and got bullied. His character was developed throughout the seasons, especially when Jamie left. He began to change and stopped being Isaac's cocky right hand man. This is something most people forget as he progresses, something I think we need to remember simply because it's a part of his character.
I think that when Isaac and Jamie find out Colin and Michael are dating they will not let Colin forget Michael's height. Isaac definitely makes fun of Colin's height even though he's the same height as Jamie, so for him to be dating a man smaller than him? Instant comedy.
As for bisexual Jamie... firstly, just look at that man. Singular dangly earring. Ridiculous sitting positions. Eyebrow slits. Istg if he turns up one day with black nail polish I'm gonna throw something at my computer. But also, I think he doesn't really understand attraction to men. Obviously, with a dad like that, he has his fair share of toxic masculinity hurting his chances of coming to terms with any kind of sexuality. But I feel like sometimes, maybe as a kid or maybe as an adult, he'll look at a man and feel something and immediately go "Nope this is jealousy I am jealous nope nope nope". Also he definitely had a crush on Roy as a kid. But I'm not to sure about Jamie x Roy in the present. They strike me as more big brother/little brother vibes, but I can definitely see where the shippers are coming from.
And since we're talking about gay Ted Lasso - Barbara 100% has a crush on Rebecca. It's just a fact. She has a crush on her. Maybe that will segway into bisexual Keely being brought back because even though it's already canon no one talks about it.
Actually, I'm going to touch on that as well. Keely is canonically bisexual. Colin wasn't the first queer character - Keely was. "If I'm going to dip my toes back into the lady pool, I can't think of a better body of water to do it with than you." I know it was played off as a joke but it's still canon. I'll actually be quite disappointed if they don't revisit that because the GA has completely ignored it. Keely. Jones. Is. Bisexual. This is a fact.
Okay I've once again diverged from the plot of the ask so I'll steer it back with a theory (kinda). I mentioned this briefly in a post but I really want Colin to stand up against Isaac and the team's comments. Nothing much, just "That's rude". And when Isaac jokes about if Colin's gay, he just says "Yeah. I am. And I want you to stop it". He needs to address the things he said to stay in the closet and I'd love it to be like that.
I actually wrote a random fluff oneshot for Colin coming out. I still think he'll be outed, but I'd love for him to have some control before that happens.
Okie that is my rant. Thank you for asking, and thank you for the compliment about my blog! Have a nice and gay day <3

THANK YOU for being critical of ted lasso, all I see is constant praise but there's a lot wrong with the show. thankfully they drop the sam/Rebecca thing (which they shouldn't have written in the first place) in s3 but Nate and sam are the ONLY poc that get a good amount of screentime/focus. isaac's character feels downright offensive and Sharon fieldstone is yet another black woman therapist and also the only black woman in the show.
i have also only seen praise of the show. 3 whole seasons and I’ve seen more articles talking about “soft masculinity” than I have the racism.
Ted lasso pays lip service to a lot of injustices in media and then just… commits them? the entire plot is based on the idea that a woman could be so petty and emotional they will put a million dollar prospect at risk for revenge. there’s that bit where ted says when people like him (white) have something going on they don’t hesitate to write about it, in a show where people of color are not written about with the same consistency and I’d argue even the same empathy shown to their white characters.
someone in the writing team is convinced saying the right thing and doing the right thing are one and the same.

About the Carmy x Sydney Ship and Race... Cause I’m Tired of Talking About It
This ramble is in response to the ask I sort of lazily answered here.
I get what Anonymous is referring to, I made a whole post about it, but I think my answer may come as a shock to many. After thinking more on a series of interesting posts regarding the ship lately that were very race focused and a bigger assessment of my own posts and what I see coming from all sides, I think everybody needs to take a deep breath and CHILL.
Yes, fandom can be extremely racist regarding Black women and BWWM ships. I know this. I’ve been a fan of several shows featuring both and have witnessed the bias and resultant shenanigans that ensue just because a Black woman is onscreen. We always get less grace, we are always the subject of intense scrutiny about our looks especially the darker we are, we have historically been marginalized and sidelined as the trusty side-kick, asexual, masculinized, made the default lesbian, made the butt of jokes. I recently had to stop watching a show and stop following an Instagram account because of both’s outdated reliance on punchlines based on stereotypes delivered by the white stars. We seem to have come far but we have a long way to go.
Sydney is receiving the same treatment I’ve seen  with other Black female characters. I always go back to Michonne on TWD as a touchstone because that was the ugliest I saw fans get about a Black woman, especially one shipped with a white man, especially when the ship went canon. We only have one season so far. I haven't seen the anti-Sydney sentiments get as bad as the anti-Michonne sentiments but I have seen some really disgusting takes that I predict will get worse as seasons progress. Sydney gets a special flavor of scorn and dismissal that I see solely reserved for Black women.
That said, and I may make some enemies saying this, everyone who doesn’t want Sydney with Carmy isn’t racist. I think there are often conclusions that because the ship is BWWM every anti is a racist or has unconscious bias. The misogynoir weaponized against Sydney can exist and be acknowledged without making the knee jerk defense that it’s all race-based dissent against the ship. I would say a good percentage is but I have no way to quantify. I don’t know these people, I can’t read minds. Some opinions and motivations are obviously coming from a bad faith perspective but sometimes so are the categorizations assigned to any dissent. Some people just aren’t going to like the ship and it may or may not have anything to do with race.
I don’t watch Ted Lasso but I did watch the X-Files until I didn’t. Both shows historically have fandoms with anti-ship wars. All parties involved are white. I’m not trying to “what about” this but I think we have to have some perspective. Some people are just never going to want romance on a show, some people are just not going to want a non-platonic relationship between co-workers, some people are just not going to see what you see, some people are just not going to be fond of the pairing you think is only natural. Does that dismiss those that may be hiding behind those opinions? No. But assuming that is always the case is not healthy.
The truth that Sydney is the new hated Black woman on the block and not all dissent about her with Carmy is racist can both be true at the same time. And assessing that every anti is racist doesn’t serve the ship. Point it out where it exists but don’t make assumptions. I saw a recent post on another platform that basically just blatantly accused everyone against the ship as being racist or biased and while I get a lot of the points it just came across as bad faith and out of touch. I even backed up some of the points but the OP didn’t seem to get why the thread devolved into the chaos it did. Bad faith only makes one look foolish.
I think I’m coming into a place of my Black womanhood where yes I’m tired of the shenanigans but I’m also tired of focusing the anger on all corners of my life. I’m not saying I never want to talk about it, I’m not saying it won’t inherently manifest in spaces that should be safe, I'm just saying I’m deciding more and more where it belongs and how I react to things colors my experience.
Does it matter if biased people hate my ship? In the grand scheme of things nothing I say or present is going to change minds. The only thing that will change that is if they keep watching and start to see what I see. I can’t force that, I can’t diatribe my way to that, I can’t argue that. All the arguing and anger does is upset me who has bigger fish to fry. I can’t expect fandom and media to satisfy my needs for diversity, equity, and inclusion in the way I want. It’s just a bunch of broken people, just as broken as I am, expressing opinions and creating without personally thinking about me at all. I have to make the change I want, not expect it from others.
Maybe because I gave up judgment for Lent (hardest Lent ever) I’m just trying to reevaluate my expectations of others. It’s a struggle, I fail at it daily. But I know the place I need that struggle the least is on the internet with strangers.
So yes, the BWWM ship controversy can be exhausting but I’m not going to let it be. I’ll continue to engage in discussions that touch on those things but I’m not going to just sit over here seething at every anti-post and ruminating about racism. Sorry.

Roseline Compass: Canis Major vs. Canes Venatici (light and death)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
To spare confusion, I'll introduce how it works a little
Roseline is an astrological system created and discovered by Alyssa Sharpe.
It's based on your Moon sign and degree. It's split into a masculine nature or a feminine nature. If you're not sure if the "feminine" or the "masculine" version of your nature fits you best, it's better to research both sides on thedivinevenus.com/rose-line/ . TW: the language is very gendered, so in order to understand yourself, you can just ungender it in your head- that's what I did lmfao
lunar astrology
Roseline is supposed to show you your true north. Going through life, you might go through different paths and different compasses, but your nature is your original compass that you always have to get back to. It's your truest north for you to follow and it takes account of your gifts and talents. You might be jealous of other people's talent's and use their strategy of life, thinking that it will get you farther, but in reality, you are using extra energy. Your nature is your truest and most efficient way to go about your talents and energy.
two of the male dynasties are canes venatici and canis major, and that's what this is about
Canes Venatici: dark prince, black knight, magnate
in alyssa’s story, canes venatici was renamed corvus, but for the sake of this, i’ll use their originial name. CV’s keyword is Death and they lead their life with the compass of darkness. They tend to be unhinged, saying and doing things that are out of pocket and crazy. Uncontrollable, they also have a standoffish aura about them, like you can't just come up to them and talk to them, unless they do first. They're similar to Poppies (feminine CM) in that manner. Alyssa Sharpe describes them as people who don't come out of their cave to do anything unless there's an adventure, a princess to save, or a holy grail to search for.
Tumblr media
I’m not really a certified person to add my thoughts, but I want to say that their darkness is within themselves and an important part of them to explore. The regressive canes venatici’s seem to be the ones that indulge in their darkness and don’t do anything about it but add pain and suffering to the world. The progressive canes venatici’s use Light to shine on their darkness with introspection. Exploring their own and others’ dark caves, they can add beauty and knowledge to the world by going within.
Canis Major: hero, legend, myth
now canis major’s keyword is light....cm was renamed pyxis recently but bc it’s not official, i’ll again use the original name. the old canis major vs canes venatici polarity was described as if cm’s were superman, and cv’s were batman. canis major’s were described as the stereotypical alpha male that is liked by everyone, has leadership qualities and is always striving to be the best. it’s the archetype that society, movies, media always deems the masculinity should try to be. although there is a lot of truth to existing information about canis majors, it also feels oversimplified, as if there’s a missing and neglected layer of the canis major.
Tumblr media
if you look at a canis major’s lives they definitely use light as their compass, having big dreams to play big roles. but without darkness or struggles, they tend to be ass hats, always being hard on other people, they become like jerry from rick and morty, criticizing his wife’s abilities while being a couch surfer. when balanced with darkness, they can use death/darkness/life struggles and introspection for balance to keep themselves in check, humbled & instead of being a scorching light, they can be a beautiful light and do their thang
Famous Canis Majors/Pyxis: Will Smith (myth) Lin Manuel Miranda (myth) Jack Harlow (hero) Tyga (legend) Gordon Ramsay (hero) MLK Jr. (hero) idk if it’s appropriate to include him but ted bundy is here
Famous Canes Venatici/Corvus: Carl Jung (magnate) Denzel Curry (magnate) Tyler the Creator (black knight) Jake Gyllenhaal (dark prince) Johnny Depp (black knight) idk if it’s appropriate to include him but jeffrey dahmer is here

Matchmaking for The Lost Boys for me???
Physical appearance: I have dark brown/black hair that nearly goes down to my neck, brown eyes and i have little small earrings. Idk how else to describe my appearance sorry
Style: I usually wear more comfortable clothes like hoodies and baggy pants. I also wear some band shirts. But if I really have to dress up, leather jacket
Favourite food: I'm not picky when it comes to food but if I had to pick a favourite, fried chicken sushi, especially with soy sauce
Gender preference: I like all genders so I don't really mind but I do lean mostly more to men
1-2 hobbies: I like to draw and practise playing my drums. I find it all fun!
Music tastes: Rock and metal all the way. It's just the best music out there in my opinion
Favourite animal: Now this is a weird one but it's a tie between tigers and axolotls. I don't know why but I like them
Favourite movie/genre: For my favourite movie, it's a rough tie between This is Spinal Tap and Bill and Ted. For my favourite genre, comedy, you just gotta have a laugh sometimes
1-2 personality traits: I'm usually pretty quiet but much more talkative when you get to know me. I'm also basically the peacemaker type
Gender: I'm male (ftm)
Zodiac sign: Sagittarius
1-2 traits you look for in partner: I want someone who's like affectionate and likes similar things. It's just my type
A/N:Hey dude! This too way to long for me to post and I’m sorry, hope you can still find it
I SHIP YOU WITH…
Tumblr media
Dwayne:] you two have plenty of things in common and your differences complement eachother very well
He’ll ask to borrow one of your earrings, and give you one of his as a subtle way to let others around Santa Carla know you’re both spoken for. He adds a painting of a tiger to the other sleeve of his jacket as well, but that’s more to help with him missing you while you guys are separated. He asks for your permission to paint his favorite animal on your jacket, but if you prefer to have it plain he steals you a hoodie and paints it on there
He himself wears mostly hoodies and baggy pants (his preference is sweats) when lounging around the cave, unless it’s a night he feels like being shirtless, and leaves them around hoping you’ll decide to wear one. (He doesn’t want to ask you straight up, he wants it to be something you do yourself) if you guys share the same taste in bands, which given your music taste I’d say you do, he takes two matching shirts in your guy’s sizes after every concert he sees
He listens to you playing drums everytime you play, which eventually leads to you guys forming a band with Paul(he plays guitar while Paul sings)
One of his favorite date ideas is recreating each other’s previous drawings, though other than this the only art experience he has is painting clothes. He keeps every piece of art you’ve given him in a binder and guards it like it’s a million dollars
He’s a supportive person to lgbtq+ in general, so he knows how to help you. Whatever you want to do he’s there to help. Want to start hormones? He’s making you a list of every specialist in California and helping narrow it down, same with top surgeons. If you’re feeling dysphoric he does whatever he can to relieve you of some of it. Even though hes not normally a big words of affirmation guy, he tells you how handsome you are whenever he realizes you’re struggling. Also points out your masculine features and compliments them.
When you first meet it is a little awkward, both of you are quiet around people you don’t know, but once you warm up to each other there’s never a moment where you two struggle in a conversation with each other. There are still many times you guys sit in a comfortable silence though.
It’s not his favorite genre, but he does enjoy comedies, especially if it means he gets to see you laughing and enjoying yourself. He spends more time watching you than he does the movie tbh

I'm just...Roy yelled at the top of his lungs at a bunch of children, and it's treated as a cute quirk. Yes, of course the context is different with Nate drawing attention to a specific player rather than general yelling and getting super personal, and I obviously do not support yelling at employees, but something about the way people laugh at Roy shouting and breaking things for no reason, Isaac throwing stuff, all the players making life difficult for hotel employees and apparently stealing stuff despite being loaded athletes, Sassy harassing a waiter, Roy discouraging Phoebe from cursing but being proud of her elbowing a girl in the neck as if that's somehow better, etc. while jumping on every negative action by Nate - notably not white, rich, or "traditionally masculine" - as a sign of him being fundamentally bad leaves a terrible taste in my mouth. Nate stands out so much as the only non-rich, non-white character that gets to show real depth and interesting flaws. He's so much fun to watch! But the way people are all "I never liked him", or "I feel vindicated", or wishing violence on him makes it seem like they were looking for an excuse not to like him, and feels so much like the old "people are bullied for a reason, if they're weird, they have it coming".
Like you, I have so much fun watching and (as everyone is painfully aware of by now) talking about Nathan, because he has real depth and interesting flaws. For me, I really enjoy connecting how his actions, feelings, and beliefs connect (or conflict) with the show's broader context. Also, he's funny, quirky, and delightful.
So, yeah, it's frustrating when people flatten him into a Ticking Timebomb of Evil, or the Antithesis of Ted's (presumed) Goodness, or AFC Richmond's Designated Patient.
But it's also kind of sad when people flatten other characters into harmless, lovable comedic caricatures. That's what happens when Nathan's misdeeds are taken seriously, and those of other characters are brushed off as just a joke or an inevitable facet of the football industry. Why would people do that to their faves? Can't they see all the fun I'm having picking apart Nathan's storyline? (*touches earpiece* What's that? My intensity and occasional glibness can come off as barely suppressed rage? Not again!)
There can be some pretty gross subtext to why and how characters are excused from accountability. For example, Colin and Isaac's harassment of Nathan is sometimes excused because it happened Before Coach Lasso (BC, for short). While Nathan's verbal abuse of Will and Colin is framed as worse than literal daily physical assault because it occurred After Arrival of Dad Figure Ted (AD, for short). Ted is positioned as a White Savior who brings enlightenment to the masses, forgiving past sins for all who Believe. And Colin and Isaac are positioned as spiritually immature, ignorant children rather than adults savvy enough to exploit the fucked-up power dynamics of their industry. (You know, like Nathan in S2, but with regular beatings.)
(To be fair to fandom, the White Savior Ted and his Infantilized Himbos trope didn't burst fully formed from our collective fannish head. Canonically, Ted does encourage this kind of thinking. He refers to the players (grown adult men, a significant number of whom are Black) as "boys." He uses the father figure thing a lot. And he did convince them to burn a cherished possession in order to appease spirits he doesn't entirely believe in. A little bit of cult leader behavior there. More things to add to the This Would be Taken Seriously if It Were Nathan pile.)
My point is: it's a double-edged sword. As someone who enjoys the non-Nathan characters, I don't like it when their actions are stripped of their ethical, social, and financial weight. I read it as an insult, a diminishing of the characters.

8 shows to get to know me
i was tagged by @tiffanylamps forever ago (sorry 🤦🏼‍♀️) and more recently by @evil-moonlight (thank you my beloved evil 🖤🖤).
btw none of these are in order because i can’t choose favorites and most of them are recent shows that I’ve watched and not all my favorites over the years.
1. the untamed — y’all i’m a basic bitch and i wish I could say i loved this for wwx and lwj relationship, the darkness and the sacrifice, the pain that comes with being known, the grief of losing the one you hold dear and all the wonderful, wonderful things this show is about… but in reality it’s because of this idiot:
Tumblr media
2. beyond evil — this show has consumed me for like two years now and i’m still writing fic for it and I watch it multiple times. the plot is amazing, the actors are phenomenal, the writer and director are both women. they care about the victims on this show and allow vulnerability to exist while also keeping you at the edge of your seat and so fucking confused. the characters are dynamic and nuanced and so very real, it makes you feel for them so much. but if I’m staying honest then it’s mostly because of these two idiots being in love:
Tumblr media
3. we are lady parts— i didn’t even know i needed this show until i watched it. it’s so fucking punk, the whole show just oozes pink vibes and the music ughhhhhhhh. i’m neither muslim nor from the united kingdom but i resonated so fucking hard with aspects of the characters and fell in with the whole show. it’s empowering and fun, i highly recommend this to everyone.
Tumblr media
4. what we do in the shadows (wwdits) — this show is just… one of the best comedies ever. the writing, the acting, the character development…. this show might honestly be one of the best i’ve ever seen even outside of the comedy genre. it’s so much more then it actually leads you to believe at first. plus the gay, can’t forget about the gay because literally the whole show is queer and i love it. and the plus sized rep is also super wonderful!

5. good omens — i recommend this show to everyone because it’s wonderful in so many ways, and the two leads are just *chef’s kiss* but i also love this show so much because it was written by my brother’s favorite author (@neil-gaiman) and he loved this book (and american gods) so much, he talked about it constantly. now that he’s gone whenever i watch it, i feel closer to him and connected to him, it’s a really nice way to handle my grief sometimes. plus i know he’d be pissed that he missed the show too. lol
Tumblr media
6. ted lasso — this show was super surprising for me, i don’t mind watching sports and some games but I was like 10 episodes about sports? Mmmmm maybe not. but then my sister begged and begged for me to watch it so i did. it’s second to wwdits with comedy but this show has the healthiest characters, the greatest character developments, they call out toxic masculinity and sexist ideals, and it’s so heartwarming. i rarely stop smiling while watching it, top notch writing and top notch acting.
Tumblr media
7. derry girls — i struggle to pinpoint the exact reason i adore this show so much. maybe it’s the teenagers that act like actual teenager, or the inclusion of parents in the story line without them being dumb or the main characters or ignore their children. maybe it’s because they are a light in a dark time, living through something awful and scary while still trying to live their lives. maybe it’s the wonderful characters that make you smile and laugh… maybe it’s sister george michael.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
8. the equalizer — i fucking love queen latifah. she is awesome as the man badass lead in this, she’s smart and resourceful and she uses that to help people in her community and make things right when the law falls short. most of the main cast are black women and a lot of the guests and secondary characters are also people of color and women. ohh also gay auntie saw whatttttttttttttttt. i know this show doesn’t get the greatest overall ratings and people really judge it often but it’s a show about the injustices in the world with a dynamic and diverse cast, I really really love watching it.

Y’all, I’m gonna get really sappy and personal and Weird for this Amare Tea Break, so for your scrolling needs, I’m stuffing all these thoughts under the read more,
or:
Gemini takes a moment to talk about Pride and the game Crushed and being a game developer and how all these things relate 😂
When I’m not spinning on my little hamster wheel in the indie game space, you can find me surrounded by books (...what did you think Corey was inspired by??? LOL). Right now, I have a Pride themed reading list for June where I’m specifically trying to read more aspec and trans literature. One of my current reads is Sounds Fake But Okay and there’ a quote I want to tattoo to my forehead, but instead I shall talk about it like a semi-normal person.
...a love story. We say that because it is. It is a story based in love, about two people who love each other, and that’s all a love story needs. Our love being purely platonic, doesn’t make it any less worthy than the romantic-sexual stories we typically think about when discussing love stories...
Crushed at its core was written to be a love story. (It was also written to be SHORT but ehhh, it’s still short enough so...) That love is based on romantic love, and it’s a reminder and declaration wrapped in one. Black boys deserve to have love and to find love and to be loved. Anxious teens (who grow up to be anxious adults!!) deserve to have love and find love and be loved. Player choices define how Corey gets to his destination of that romantic love, but whether you get the bad, neutral, or good endings, romance is only part of that love story.
I get sick and tired of platonic and familial types of love being seen as ‘lesser than’ or ‘stepping stones to something else’. Or that you’re not a complete, healthy human if you don’t strive to find something that resembles a romantic partner.
And I’m addicted to romance stories. I will quite literally die if I don’t consume them on a near weekly basis LOL. I love shipping fictional characters and I love writing silly little stories based in the worlds of the media I consume. I have shed actual tears at weddings and sports games and work and etc. at displays of romantic love because I got so overwhelmed by the experience of watching other people express this.
But...I get tired of watching other types of love get shit on.
So that’s where Corey’s friend group comes in and why even if they don’t have as much screen time as him, you can feel the love they all have for another
And that’s also where Corey’s dad and his older brother come in too. One, because I’m tired of the toxic Black masculinity but also I just wanted to show a soft Black teen boy who’s loved by the men in his life unconditionally.
Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.
Tumblr media
Edited to add: I finished Sounds Fake after drafting this post and I do NOT recommend it, (plenty of other nonfictional aspec reads I’d recommend 10x over smh) however, I still appreciate the quote so everything else stays lol

trans ppl need to leave black women alone...we are not your pawn. we are not your masculine sisters. we are denied our womanhood yes but it's not the same to white men mutilating themselves in hopes that they can rape lesbians. ty for coming to my ted talk
they use it as some gotcha but like... white people have always known which poc were female, it benefitted them to not ignore that. they knew which of to rape, which to "breed," which possessed the reproductive system they wanted to experiment on. even if they were denied womanhood and humanity, they were never denied femaleness, it seems.

Plath's "Daddy" and the Electra complex
“And I said I do, I do. So Daddy, I’m finally through.
The black telephone’s off at the root, The voices just can’t worm through.”
From the tragedy of Oedipus’ inescapable curse of killing his father and marrying his mother, to a vindictive Electra seeking punishment of her mother for her deceased father, Greek mythology played an important role in conceptualising the relationship between a child and their parent of the opposite sex. Austrian neurologist Sigmund Freud proposed the well-known theory of Oedipus complex in 1899, which is a man’s desire for his mother and a sense of rivalry with his father. The electra complex is the opposite -- it is the daughter’s attachment to her father, when not resolved in childhood, it could lead to serious  confusion and frustration in self-identity and adapting to societal gender roles in adulthood. The famous controversial and revolutionary poet Sylvia Plath had a similar destructive relationship with her father. American poet Robert Pinsky described her writing as “Thrashing, hyperactive and perpetually accelerated.”
The overwhelmingly uncanny feeling in Plath’s poem “Daddy” reveals a vivid, haunting image of her strained relationships with the two dominant male figures in her life -- her father Otto Plath and her husband, Ted Hughes. The Electra complex is displayed both in Plath’s literature and life, which are being repeatedly studied and compared. In her poem Daddy, the speaker spoke of her lost connection with her father, therefore her unknown root, and a loss of identity. She expressed confusion, frustration and even a morbid desire to reach him beyond life. The poem speaks through a woman’s yearning to heal her open wound of losing her father at a young age, to recover him, understand him and forgive him. The entire poem looms under an eerily childish tone, whereas the speaker’s desperation and insanity seeps through the lines. The unresolved pain that rooted from the death of Plath’s father left her on edge for many years. Her poem “Daddy” is a poetic masterpiece that covers the themes of trauma, female oppression and death. It is interesting to apply the Freudian Electra complex lens to the poem and scrutinise it from a psychoanalytic perspective, to further understand the speaker’s state of mind from a scientific angle and establish a profound connection to the poem. I will argue that the Freudian Electra complex assists the reader in understanding the dynamics between the speaker and her father, as it is a representation of Plath herself and her life-long grapple with the memories of her father -- love, hatred and confusion, which ultimately caused her to marry someone who resembled her father in many ways.  I will also explore the relationship between patriarchy and the Electra Complex-- the reason why she seeks her father’s shadow in her husband is because of her yearning to sustain herself with a specific masculine control. And conflictingly, whether the Electra complex is a valid theory to justify the male oppression behind  female’s depression.
In the poem “Daddy”, the speaker harks back to a splitting image of her father, displaying clear confusion in what he meant to her as a young girl. “I never could talk to you. The tongue stuck in my jaw. It stuck in a barb wire snare. Ich, ich, ich, ich, I could hardly speak.” -- the speaker’s voice and Sylvia’s own trauma are intertwined throughout the entire poem, she expressed an overwhelming sense of abandonment, an uncertainty in who she was due to the lack of communication and connection with her father. The unresolved conflicting emotions left her in complete disarray: she had a shifting self image and was overwhelmed by her identity as a woman in society, a daughter, a shadow of a young girl. This is directly caused by the Electra complex. “Every woman adores a facist. The boot in the face. The brute. Brute heart of a brute like you.” -- This line is addressed to her father as she expresses her need for someone with her father’s brutality and cold heart. This is further explored in a psychological analysis of the Electra complex written by doctor Kendra Cherry, in which she stated that “Freud believed that it was this process that also led children to accept their gender roles, develop an understanding of their own sexuality, and even form a sense of morality.” The speaker(as well as Plath herself) is seeking a sense of control through this line, a “fascist”, a dictatorial, patriarchal figure who overpowers her and puts her down, in a sense where she is treated roughly and cruelly by the man. As Doctor Cherry said, the progress of the electra complex can fluctuate a woman’s acceptance of her sexuality: the speaker finds it hard to express her feelings, she even speaks for all women that “every woman adores a facist”. The electra complex suggests that the speaker’s morals and values are altered by her infatuation with her father’s mysterious life and early death: she believes that all women are meant to be trapped and treated brutally by men, and paints the picture of females being submissive and vulnerable. The concept of the speaker needing a paternal figure who constantly puts her down and controls her is a direct link to the Fruedian lens, it makes an implicit reference to Doctor Cherry’s analysis: the speaker in the poem/Plath has an “immoral” understanding of her relationship with men as she searches frantically for her identity and looks for a husband who is reminiscent of her father’s image. The Electra complex helps the reader understand the psychological underlayer of the relationship between Plath and her father: the daughter is confused by the dynamics of a healthy relationship and the partner she desires due to the early death of her father. The unresolved complications between the father-daughter relationship makes it extremely difficult for the woman to adapt to a patriarchal society due to her confusion around women’s place in society.
However, the electra complex also challenges the speaker to break free from submissiveness. We see the concept of women coming to terms with their gender role in the poem, making a connection between the absence of fatherhood and female empowerment: “Daddy, I’ve had to kill you.” and “If I've killed one man, I’ve killed two.” The speaker used the strong word “kill”, which indicates that the roles are ultimately reversed as she gains power and domination, in contrast to her previous victimisation of women and men being “brutes”. The father/husband are metaphorically being compared to a Nazi and Vampires, displaying the power they have over the female speaker who claims to be a Jew and someone with a “pretty red heart”, showcasing women’s vulnerability in the face of men. The vulnerability and submissiveness oppresses the female speaker as she comes to term with her gender role. Under the reading of the Freudian lens, we can see that this empowerment can be seen as a surprising outcome of a female shifting her sense of morality and striving for control and power due to an unresolved Electra complex -- the speaker’s confusion and frustration regarding a healthy relationship eventually drives her to break free from the oppressive nature of patriarchy.

Alone is an understatement, I sometimes wonder if this is what Albert Einstein or Socrates. Ideas today has been so radicalized it makes everything so black and white.
Why is there a need to lend an opinion on everything? It’s to the point where if a pubic figure lends no opinion….AN OPINION IS ASSIGNED TO THEM BY THE PUBLIC!
The fucking gender wars back and forth on social media leads you to believe that all this shit is just on the internet but I SWEAR… at times in real life i can see the bullshit podcast points spewed on those shitty relationship/gender based talk spaces REPEATED in real time, sometimes verbatim.
And bro…do you see what the fuck masculinity has turned into? WHAT THE FUCKKKKKK why every single day there’s talk points in wtf an alpha is??? Bullshit reminds me of teen wolf, deadass. Corny ass shit lol
My reaction to all this is to do the opposite. Never lend opinion unless warranted. Don’t live by pre-created rules of masculinity but most importantly do what the fuck I want.
- we often are told to live our life freely but folks rarely truly 100% do. Since a jit I been doing what I want regardless of consequence. I just live with them.
No idea where I was going with this rant. I just hate the state of the world…right now atleast , I wish we all would just LITERALLY chill the fuck out and stop worrying so much, do what you want and the next mf mind they gatdamn business!
Anyways that was my Ted talk. Don’t really care who reads this 😂

btw when I or the other trans men who are developing theory around our experiences talk about transandrophobia or androphobia it isn't the same as mens rights activist's assertions about misandry, which are all lives matter style reactionary attempts to undercut feminism out of resentment and fear of change.
I mean maybe some guys swing into this, and it's good to be careful of, but androphobia specifically harms trans women, trans men and GNC cis women and queer cis men, more than it harms cis men.
when we allow maleness and masculinity both to be defined by violence, backwards patriarchal superiority complexes, and so on, to the point of developing a compulsive reaction to anything that remotely reads "male" ...we have simply recreated the conditions of oppression folks.
It is so easy for TERFs to weaponize androphobia against trans women ("you're still men [read: violent ugly scary worthy of punishment and death]) and trans men ("you're a traitor to your gender [read: innocent victim superior women who should be scared of men]) and the worst, worst aspects of this are always gonna land on Black trans people due to the racialization of gender characteristics.
Defending the right to remain rabidly hateful of and afraid of being associated with, loving or longing for maleness does nothing for liberation. I've felt those feelings too, there's a place for them. Men are still capable of patriarchal violence and responsible for femicide and infanticide the world over.
But androphobia is self perpetuating and much like a knife in the hand of an untrained civilian, much more likely to be weaponized by an attacker than work in defense.
Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk. I am open to good faith discourse about this.
