AND THEN this guy had the audacity to still keep the chem extracurricular going after school on monday 😭 #and we usually go on until five HELP ME #AND THEN after that i have extra course and GUESS WHAT. on monday we have physics and CHEM. chem again 😭 #the worst thing about this is that i knoww i’m not good enough to pass the first round anyways you know #it’s like i’m suffering through this for nothing it’s just aghhhh #bismillah though i guess #*smiling through the pain* #chem tag #nadirants

One chuckles quietly to himself as Leo retells the story of their meeting to Amila and Bait, the three kids curled up in blankets and sporting hot chocolate lovingly provided by Nora.

He turns to the older woman who was, at the moment making drinks for herself and him. Wether or not they had some alcohol in them was totally up for debate.

“They’re good for you.”

The elephants words cut through his thoughts. It was obvious who she was referring to.

“Yeah? N’ whys that?”

He questions her logic though the answer isn’t hard to find. It’s obvious how being around the three troublemakers positively affected him.

“They bring you out of your shell. Before them, we’d never interacted fully. And now look at us! Chatting like mother and son.”

She muses with a chuckle. The comment makes his face flush red, embarrassed to be seen as a son inher eyes. No matter how warm it made him feel, it still embarrassed him greatly.

“Ah, I’m just teasing you dear.”

Nora adds, tone not at all apologetic as she pats his shoulder affectionately and hands him a drink; smiling that same kind smile he’s grown accustomed to so easily.

One looks back at the trio, the three having moved onto something else, Bait seems to be talking animatedly about a collection of his with Leo and Amila listen intently and occasionally chime in to keep the conversation going. He goes over to the couch, plopping down in between the two eldest. His wing unconsciously moving to wrap around Leo who decidedly doesn’t point it out.

Maybe he’s weak for growing so used to these kids who lived shitty lives in the past. But as he sits here, warm and content in a home belonging to woman he would proudly call his mother, three equally as troubled kids chatting happily to one another while he just listens in, sipping a drink that’s definitely not spiked; he can’t help but feel like being weak was a fair trade off for a family like this.
