Judd clenches his fists, and takes a deep breath. TK knows he’s measuring himself, but he also knows Judd would never hit him; no matter how much he may want to. “Well, we create those big ideas so we can insure no one gets hurt.” Judd glances at TK’s bandaged ankle. 

TK hides his embarrassment by narrowing his eyes. He remembers the old Judd, the one who used to fight along side his father when his father was still alive. Judd, who would dive into danger head first, just for the thrill of it. 

TK’s eyes cut to Grace, sitting in the background of it all. Her soft hands resting on her round stomach, watching them both with concern. TK looks back up at Judd. “We didn’t all decide to start a family, Judd. Some of us still need to find a way to make ends meet, no matter the risk.” 

Judd’s next words are said with a barreling fury and a tinge of regret. “Forgive me for wanting to be a father.” 

Without missing a beat, TK replies, “Apology accepted.” TK thinks about the letter he has from Owen that’s sitting next to Gwyn’s picture. A letter his father left him, right before he went out for a robbery he knew would only end badly. “Don’t be too hard on yourself, fatherhood can happen to the worst of us.” 

Judd’s eyes harden, and a tense, uncomfortable silence follows. TK smirks, considering it a win. TK stands, fighting to keep a neutral face as he applies pressure to his hurt ankle. "I'm going fishing. Try not to think of too many big ideas while I'm gone."
