Le Bilboquet Billy Bishop Double IPA (Picked up at IGA in Montreal). A 3 of 4. Lots of herbal notes on top of some fainter citrus and grapefruit hop notes. The body has quite a bit of caramel malt sweetness and bitterness to it, and is quite balanced throughout. Solid.

Braggato

A fusion of the Pokemon Braixen and Floragato.

Braggato is a mixture of Fire and Grass, an uncommon pairing. It demonstrates impressive grace and dexterity through the use of its special weapon - a magic bilboquet. The special stick it carved with its claws can change the properties of the ball that is attached to it via vines. When caught at the wide base end, the ball becomes that of charcoal, able to be lit on fire with a snap of Braggato's fingers -- its flame-resistant pawpads can create the appropriate friction.

When caught at the pointed end, the ball becomes a round blossom similar to a dahlia, which can cast plant-based spells. The motions and tricks Braggato performs with the bilboquet are mesmerizing, and also quite dangerous when applied to battles.

Braggato is quite proud of its skills with the bilboquet, so much so that it can be overconfident. It can become too much of a showboater and lose itself in its performance, leaving it open to attack. Its pompous attitude can also come off as annoying, so teammates may not get along with it. Braggato's true weakness, however, is being ignored - it craves attention, and if it does not get an audience for its performances, it becomes sad and discouraged, causing it to underperform in its battles. It takes a skilled trainer to temper Braggato's overconfidence while still encouraging its impressive abilities; those that do will find a valuable battle partner and an endearing little entertainer in Braggato.

"Monsieur, on va faire quoi aujourd'hui en cours ? - Du bilboquet. - Monsieeeeeur. - Attendez qu'on soit arrivés dans la salle, je le dirai à tout le monde en même temps. - Mais dites-le moi à moi d'abord ! - Pourquoi ? - Parce que je suis spécial. Et je veux faire le métier le plus dur du monde."

Au début, je pensais que c'était de la provocation. Mais il n'y a aucun second degré dans le discours d'Ulrich. Il dit toujours les choses comme il les pense. Il refuse en permanence de travailler en groupe. Aucun mépris dans cette esquive. Il ne regarde pas ses camarades de haut, il ne les regarde tout simplement pas. Ce qui l'intéresse, ce sont les pupilles des adultes.

Il a commencé par m'agacer. Parce que je n'aime pas ceux qui s'estiment au-dessus. Ils me cachent le soleil, à vouloir se hisser toujours plus haut. Mais ça n'est pas le cas d'Ulrich. À force de le fréquenter, est apparu ce qui me semble constituer la facette la plus importante de sa personnalité : un besoin dévorant de trouver une place.

Dès lors, tout fait sens : ses questions parfois totalement décalées ("Vous allez en boîte, le soir ?" lorsque je demande si tout le monde a bien compris la proposition complétive), sa propension à se rapprocher des adultes, le fait qu'il ait usé la patience de l'intégralité de ses camarades.

Ulrich est rongé par l'envie d'exister, d'une façon ou d'une autre. Et vivre dans les flammes, ça fait briller, mais ça menace de consumer. J'aimerais le lui dire, trouver des mots simples : lui dire qu'il a toute sa place, que personne ne peut la lui enlever. Qu'il ne faut pas avoir peur, comme ça. Et que bien évidemment qu'il est exceptionnel : il est lui-même. Le lecteur invétéré, l'interprète de Rodrigue, le meilleur grammairien des quatrièmes.

Mais pour l'instant, il ne peut pas l'entendre. Pour plein de raisons personnelles et d'âge. Alors, comme d'habitude, on peut juste être là.
