Hi friend :) rewatching Father Of the bob and it made me wonder about the kids' and Big Bob's relationship. Do you got any headcanons and the like about that? (Sorry if you've already talked about it)

I HAVE SO MANY THOUGHTS ABOUT BIG BOB AND HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH THE KIDS i have peppered them throughout my posts and fanfics but i will expand on them a bit here >:)

i don't think bob ever went fully no contact with big bob but there was definitely a decade or two where they didn't live together and almost Never spoke except for big bob occasionally calling him to say happy birthday or whatever. when tina was born I think bob realized that he did want his dad to be in his kids lives in some way (yes they had linda's parents as their other set of grandparents but even back then i think bob KNEW they were shitty people and would be bad gransparents) he wanted them to have a good grandpa so he kinda introduced him into the kids lives

big bob was definitely nervous about being around these small and easily influenced humans even if he didn't outwardly express that. tina was the sweetest little baby so getting along w/ her was easy but gene and louise were definitely more stressful. and bcuz big bob was still busy with work he barely ever saw them anyway. but he did TRY to be a good grandpa by sending them birthday & christmas presents and giving them money every time they visited. trying to be a grandpa in the only way he knew how :(

could explore in another post how al and gloria are the WORST grandparents and how it's strongly implied that tina gene and louise don't actually like them (if you compare how they interact with linda's parents vs big bob its clear that they are tolerating al and gloria at most while they genuinely look forward to spending time with big bob and WANT to see him. can't even say it's because of bob influencing them to dislike linda's parents bcuz he openly hates his dad too lmao) but in comparison to them big bob really does correct so many of the mistakes he made w/ bob when it comes to his grandkids (to quote alice talking about gertie "she's a better grandmother than a mother you gotta trust me")

he's physically affectionate with them and he spoils them!!! he actually pays attention to their individual interests (watching gene's music performance and looking at louise's display of burobu cards, and seemingly getting her gifts specifically related to her interest in them for her birthday and christmas) and talks to them. compare that with al and gloria who literally got the kids a regifted book about staying active in retirement for christmas one year (with a whole chapter about sex with Actual pictures and examples which is fucked up) they're literally the worst ugh

and big bob's efforts with the kids seem to pay off bcuz they look forward to spending time with him :) they're always excited and I genuinely think it isn't only because he gives them money when they see him. they just like spending time with him!! "He's a good grandpa" and he bakes them cookies and worries about them and their futures <3 THEY'RE THE REASON HE BELIEVES THAT THE WORLD WILL BE OKAY. HE THINKS THEY'LL BE ABLE TO FIX THINGS?????

anyway some specific headcanons about his dynamics with each of the kids:

he definitely gets along the most easily with tina. they're similar people in the way that bob and tina are similar (except that tina is more positive than either of them lol) and they enjoy doing more lowkey activities together compared to louise or gene. they might enjoy baking cookies or doing puzzles together :) definitely a good thing that she was his first grandchild bcuz she was always kind and quiet and easy to get along with and it made him more confident in his abilities. Whenever he sees a horse themed item at a thrift store or whatever he buys it and gives it to tina the next time she visits!! that's how she got quite a few of her porcelain horses when she was younger (even if maybe decorative porcelain horses were not the best idea ever for a seven year old tina took very good care of them u_u gene and louise not so much. rip)

gene is probably the grandchild that he finds it the hardest to relate to just because they're such DIFFERENT people. gene is so effeminate and unashamed of himself and his emotions which is pretty much the opposite of how big bob was taught to be as a kid and how he raised bob. he never had daughters so its easier for him to relate to tina and louise bcuz they're almost like a blank slate?? he sees so much of what he did wrong with parenting bob when it comes to gene :( But they eventually find some common ground with gene's love of music and performing. big bob will tell gene about his favorite songs and records from when he was younger & he'll listen to all of gene's performances when he visits

louise is the most.... complicated for big bob? she reminds him SO MUCH of lily in everything from her personality to her pink hat. it definitely took him a few years to get over that and begin to see louise as her own person and stop projecting that trauma onto her (not intentionally but its just hard when you lose someone and then suddenly they're There again and they're your grandaughter) luckily louise is easy to love and her bold personality makes herself VERY known. he could not ignore her. he loves how spunky she is and how unashamed she is of herself (all his grandkids really) and he definitely thinks she's gonna grow up to do something great in the world. they don't have that much to bond over tbh he just let's louise take the lead and he does whatever she wants him to do. he just likes spending time with his granddaughter <3

definitely think that the kids have started seeing big bob more since his relationship with bob has been repaired a bit so i can imagine that connection will only grow stronger!!!!

Being called back to San Diego made you a bit gibberish, you were super thrilled to see your former WSO Fanboy and your best friend Phoenix back. And a bit anxious, you know he belongs to the best aviators, so will he be there too?

After packing out in your little rented apartment, you headed to the Hard Deck. If you knew your friends well, they would probably be there already.

“Hummingbird! Over here at the pool table!” Yup, as you thought Phoenix, Fanboy and Payback were here already.

“Well, Hummingbird this is here is Bob, Coyote and Bagman. Guys, my meet partner in crime and probably one of the best aviators, Hummingbird. Don’t let her cute appearance fool you, she’s one hell of an aviator!” Phoenix always liked to exaggerate.

“It’s Hangman by the way, and can you even get in an aircraft without a using a crane or something?” If you just could wipe that smirk off his face. Okay, with your 5’2 you were a lot smaller than the average aviator, but that gave you another reason to become better than all of those who gave you remarks.

“I’m gonna get a beer, I need one” you said to Phoenix. “Yeah, you’re gonna need a couple to survive Bagman” she smiled.

“Penny sweetheart, a beer please.” 

“Y/N I see you’ve met Hangman, give me the sign and I ring the bell when he disrespects you” she winked. 

“I will.”

“Bradshaw!” you heard Phoenix in the background.

“As I live and breathe!” Hangman replied.

Oh God, please let this be a dream. Turning around you felt like you got whacked by a hammer with the sight of Rooster. Yup you were fucked.

Two years ago you were stationed in Virginia for 3 months to temporary replace a fellow aviator. There you met him, just like now, you were completely starstruck by him. The only person who could rock the pornstache and those Hawaiian shirts and oh god those soft brown eyes. 

He was not like most single aviators taking a different girl home every time they went to the local bar, but when he did, you could only wish it was you. You tried to hooking up a couple of times, you had your needs too, but that wasn’t like you as you gave up on keeping boyfriends. The job didn’t really help with keeping partners, the hours away from home, the constant jealousy with your fellow aviators. Everything had changed when Rooster happened, no more dates, no more hook ups, just Rooster on your mind 24/7. 

When you met Rooster in person during an exercise he was nice, no remarks, you even got an “You’re cute!” and then the inevitable “I wish I had a little sister like you” with a big smile, not that you were that much younger than him. Which resulted in a stuttering “Tha-thank you”. You just wished he hadn’t said that last sentence. 

Every time you got the chance to talk to him, you took for granted. Being near him made you happy, and you made him happy, but you were the only one with butterflies. This was the first time you fell for someone this hard. And when he started to sing at the bar, you could only wish to live up to your callsign as you normally would with your own squadron, take over the bar when you started to sing. You thought about it to join him after a couple of beers, or maybe something stronger, but even after some drinks you didn’t grow the guts.

Eventually you tried hooking up with a guy, he was not even your type at all, to figure out Rooster’s reaction, you got the reaction you feared. He became like an overprotective brother, resulting in you storming out. You couldn’t stay mad at him because of the short time close you had left, so with an aching heart you continued being his sister.

Even though it was almost two year ago since you last saw him, he was still on your mind. Yes you tried dating afterwards, but they weren’t Rooster, so it always ended in hook ups. When you got back, Rooster and you called on a regular basis, but as hearing his voice started to hurt and got you craving him, you stopped being the one that called claiming flying got you too busy. Phoenix and Fanboy eventually learned about your crush on Rooster, as they also noticed you to getting gloomier, but lying to them it was the focus of your job and the aftermath of the ‘little’ crush you had.

“Humms! You’re here too, I missed you!” he said while hugging you. All you could do is close your eyes and take in the scent of his cologne. It is still the same, you could just melt in his arms.

“H-Hi Rooster, good to see you too!”

“It’s been a while I heard from you. Hey, everything okay?” he asked as he noticed you getting uneasy.

“Everything’s fine, been very busy just a bit overwhelmed by being here” you lied. Trying to get more comfortable, you walked back to Phoenix, of course you need to hit two barstools, she whispered “Little crush, my ass. You’re still head over heels for him.” you were busted. “Yeah” Seeing how uneasy you were, Phoenix and Fanboy decided not to push it, as they normally would.

The next couple of days went better and with the training and the team noticed your skills which resulted in a kind of apology of Hangman “Well birdie, it looks like I underestimated you, I might have competition here.” He said while throwing an arm around you.

“Come on Hangman, let her go.” Rooster said looking apologetic at you. “Don’t let him get to your head Hummingbird, he’s just trying to get you to slip up.” he snorts to Hangman.

“Oooh, is our Rooster here getting defensive over his sister?” Hangman saw you glaring at him at the word sister. Your gaze had betrayed you, shit - he knew now too. You had expected him to embarrass you, instead he used this to get to Rooster, since the two of them were each other nemesis.

“So, Birdie” Hangman started while throwing his arm once again over your shoulder “What do you think, Hangman and Birdie as team lead and wingman on this mission, I think we would make the best duo the world has ever seen. We should discuss this over drinks tonight.” As you giggled to Hangman’s suggestion, Rooster growled at this comment and your comfiness towards Hangman.

“What, afraid I might take her home, Rooster. She’s a big girl ya know?”

“Ah man, fuck off.” Rooster grunted to Hangman. “And Hummingbird, I really expected better from you.” Just like that Rooster stormed off to the tarmac for the last training of the day.

“Hangman” you whispered “Thanks, but just don’t take it too far, please.”

Hangman being Hangman, pushed it too far at the last post-training briefing, resulting in an exploding Rooster. After driving Rooster home to his apartment, you were able to calm him down and even got him to open up to you about his past with Maverick. Maybe you were a little harsh to him with Hangman earlier that day.

“Hey, Humms, just don’t go out with Hangman, he’s not good for you. You deserve better than him.”

“Why not? If not him then who?” You asked him softly, not trying to fight. “You?” You tried, hoping he would take the hint. He just shook his head, completely not understanding where you’re coming from.

“I think it’s time for me to go to bed, maybe some sleep would do good to you too”. Not realising how much his last answer hurt you, you went back to your own place, crying yourself to sleep to the idea you were never going to be his.

After Maverick’s great idea to hold the dogfight football to create a team, which helped for both Rooster and Hangman, it was pure torture for you seeing Rooster shirtless for hours. After the last game, dear Fanboy came with the great idea of holding a campfire that evening to “end the team building with a bang”. 

“Hummingbird, bring your guitar” you can hear Phoenix screaming, while packing her stuff.

“And we’ll bring the beers, that will be the best team building yet!” agreed a way to happy Fanboy winking towards Phoenix. Oh yes, they were up to something. Before you even could protest Phoenix turned to Rooster.

“It must’ve been pretty fun with you two in Virginia at the bar?”

“I have honestly no idea what you’re talking about Phoenix.”

“Ow, come on, the way her voice can take over a bar, back at the academy she would even be able to get Bagman to shut up with her voice. She really did not even once sang there?” you looked at her big eyes, hoping she would shut up. “I’m gonna take a shower, see you guys later” you said while you were practically running towards your car.

“Hey Hummingbird, wait up, you're my ride. Hey, waaiiit!.”

“If you want me to bring my guitar, you’re gonna drive Tash, I’ll need some beers this evening.”

“Why didn’t Rooster know you could sing Y/N?” she asked while sitting next to you on your bed.

“I just couldn’t, you know. I don’t know, I - last night after calming him down he made sure he’s not interested in me in that way. So, I just want to get over him.” you said as your friend held you close.

“Hey, it’s ok, let’s show him what he’s missing and just have fun. Come on!” you nodded, what did you have to loose anyway?

Phoenix was right, it was fun. You had placed yourself strategically between Phoenix and Fanboy, where you felt safe and you could be at ease. The squad had been singing to almost every classic campfire song with so much passion, you had to admit that Fanboy sometimes had good ideas. 

“Y/N, can you sing something, so we can let our voices rest a bit?” Fanboy started, with Phoenix nodding, both meaning the same thing.

“Why not, it's now or never.” you whispered to yourself. Hopefully he’ll listen.

After taking a sip of your beer, you started off with a hoarse voice.

You couldn’t remember when, but tears had started to form in the corner of you eyes, you were not crying though. The lyrics were the words you’ve always wanted to tell Rooster and now that you finally had, you felt a weight get lifted off your shoulders. No matter what the consequences were, finally winning him or losing him forever, they had to be said, your heart couldn’t take it anymore.

“I’m, gonna take get some beers from the car.” you said softly with still a blush on your cheeks and tears in the corner of your eyes while taking Phoenix car keys.

While reaching Phoenix’s car you heard a soft “Hey Y/N, wait up.” At first you didn’t react, you were not used being called by your name by your coworkers, except for Natasha and Mikey.

“Humms” the soft voice tried again, this time you knew who it belonged to, which made your heart skip a couple of beats.

“Rooster, hi” you said while trying to put up a smile.

“The song” he paused and taking a breath before continuing “it was about me, wasn’t it?” you couldn’t answer or even look him in the eyes, too scared for a possible rejection, so you just nodded. Because you didn’t dare to look at him, you couldn’t see the way he was staring at you with a soft look, his eyes wandered quickly enough off to your lips.

“Fuck it” he whispered and started to kiss you. You tried to register what was happening, but your brain had shut off. And Rooster, while melting in the kiss, finally realising everything you ever subtle tried to hint.

“I’ve been so wrong this whole time, I don’t want a sister. I never thought further about my feelings, I wanted to play save, I’m sorry for everything, I - fuck.” he took your face in his hands and kissed you again, this time more passionate, more hungrily. You let your hands wander around in his soft curls to deepen the kiss. You’ve always wondered what kissing him would be like, you had to admit it was way better then in any of your dreams or thoughts. You got lost in kissing him as you felt his hands lower from your face to your lower back and eventually squeezing your ass resulting in a moan escaping your mouth, leaving you both panting after the intense make out session.

“Jesus, I love that sound.” Rooster confessed, you blushed at his comment. “Oh God, we were supposed to get beers.” you realised. 

“Can I hold you just for one more second? I’ve been so stupid not to see you for you.”

“Come here, you big idiot.” you said, as you hugged each other, you felt why he needed a moment longer before going back to the group. 

“Oh” a tent in his shorts, you smiled on the inside as you realised the effect you had on him.

“Yeah, sorry, I - Uhm”

“I understand” you couldn’t admit yet you felt the tension between your legs too. “Here, take the six pack, so you can hide your problem” you smirked at him.

“Thanks, I guess. Hey Y/N can we talk later maybe?”

“I think that’s a good idea, oh and don’t mind Tash and Mikey in a bit.” Rooster looked at you with a puzzled expression. When you got back most of the group didn’t notice the two of you getting back as they were too busy chatting with each other. And as predicted you got looks from Phoenix and Fanboy. Deciding not to get sandwiched by those two and bombarded with questions, you sat next to Rooster and opposite of your two friends, smirking at them. Lucky for you, the campfire ended an hour later, as some of the boys claimed they needed to go ‘hunting’.

“Can I take you home? Maybe we can talk for a bit, it’s our day off tomorrow.”

“Yes, I’ll tell Phoenix she can go to the bar with the rest.”

After you were able to brush both Phoenix and Fanboy off about what happened with Rooster, you got in his Bronco. The car ride to your place was quiet, but nice as Rooster hold you had while driving. 

“Cosy” Rooster commented at your place.

“Thanks, do you want something to drink, or eat?”

“Water is fine.”

“Here you go” you said while both moving to the couch to get comfy.

“So -” You started a bit uneasy.

“How long?” He didn’t need to say more to know what he meant.

“Since we’ve met.” you confessed.

“Oh my, and i’ve been treating you like a sister. Shit, I’m so sorry” you snuggled into his chest, playing with the buttons of his Hawaiian shirt. “I really thought having you always around was enough for me, but I’ve got to admit, after kissing you, I don’t think I can get ever enough of you.” you felt him playing with the straps of your sundress after putting his glass on your coffee table. “When you got cosy with Hangman yesterday, I don’t know what went through me, I think I felt some kind of jealousy, I couldn’t place it. But now I know why I felt that way.” Rooster confessed with rosy cheeks. He looked adorable like this.

“Well, that’s how I felt back in Virginia or when you talked about some of your adventures.”

“Y/N, I’m so sorry, I still need to apologise a lot for my stupidity, how can I ever make it up to you for being an idiot?”

“You’re doing it by being here, and maybe never let me go” you smiled softly, burying your head even further in his chest if that was possible. “Can you stay tonight, just to make sure it wasn’t a dream.”

“Yeah, i’d like that. Do you want me to sleep here on the couch?”

“No” you said as you got up from his comfortable chest, “my bed is big enough and I’ve had to miss this long enough.” you took his hand as you guided him to your bedroom. You got a bit nervous as you remembered you still had to change into your pj’s. “Do you want a shirt, I wear big ones, they’re comfy.” you said as you took your sleeping shirt.

“If it’s okay for you, I normally sleep in only my boxers.” Oh, you felt a blush creep on you cheeks. As Rooster slid out his shirt and took off his wifebeater, you couldn’t help but stare.

“That’s mine now.” Oh fuck, you tried to hide in embarrassment. “That was out loud” you said while burying your head in your sleeping shirt you still hadn't put on.

“Yes, it’s all yours now.” Rooster took your head out your hands and tossed the shirt somewhere on the ground. He started to pepper you with soft kisses on your cheeks leading their way to your lips. “No, need to be embarrassed, it’s just us now. I like you all flustered, all for me.”

“Bradley” you moaned, all hot and bothered by his sweet and soft actions, but still wearing your sundress as Rooster already stood there in his boxers. He noticed it too and started to guide you from your dresser to you bed.

“Keep on saying my name like that and I don’t think I can control myself anymore.” Rooster almost moaned. Now that you could finally call him yours, why would you stop him from losing control?

“Then loose control, I’ve been waiting for you for so long” you whispered seductive in his ear.

Rooster took care of you like no one ever has, whispering sweet nothings while making love to you and screaming each other names out of the top of your lungs every time you both came and collapsing next to each other afterwards never breaking the loving and lustful gaze between the two of you.

“I’m never letting you go now.”

A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)

Behind closed doors, Bob is a very affectionate person. He is not into PDA for the most part with the exception of maybe a kiss to the cheek and holding hands or a hug to say hello/goodbye, but when you two are alone he is very touchy and loves to hold you. When you’re talking he will raise a hand to tuck hair behind your ear before letting it fall to caress your jaw. He will lean his head on your shoulder as you two sit on the couch after a tiring day. The feel of your touch against his skin brings him comfort and let’s him know he is safe and loved.

B = Best Friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)

Are you kidding Bob is the bestest friend to ever walk the earth. He is who you trust to hold onto your drink because he would literally throw hands at anyone who dared to take it from him. The best person to talk to, Bob will offer advice if you want it or would be there to simply listen to you vent. What you admire about Bob the most as your best friend is his reliability—you can always count on him to have your back.

The friendship would start after y’all were introduced by a mutual friend. In this case, it was most likely Phoenix and you were either a fellow naval aviator or a friend she knew from back home and met Bob when you came to visit her in Fightertown. “Bob! Come over here—I want you to meet my friend, Y/n. Y/n/n, this is my WSO, Lt Robert ‘Bob’ Floyd.” Bob would smile at you and offer his hand, “It’s a pleasure to meet you. Nix talks about you all the time.” “All good things I hope. *wink* It’s lovely to meet you too, I’ve also heard a lot about you.”

That first meeting left Bob with a flutter in his stomach and soon you were all he could think about. Mans was smitten. And let’s just say, Phoenix was giving herself a pat on the back for her plan worked out perfectly.

C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)

Yes. yes. YES. Bob loves cuddles and honestly you would cuddle him 24/7 if you could. He is so warm and soft and you just wanna curl yourself to him like a koala bear. The second he walks through the door you’re opening your arms with pouty lips—which he already knows what you want so he’s practically rushing to get his boots off before joining you on the couch for some much needed cuddles.

Bob likes to be the big spoon, but he doesn’t mine being the little every once in a while. He will nuzzle his nose into your neck or hair and lazily put his leg over yours to keep you secure. “Comfy, baby?” “Very. I could stay like this forever.”

D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)

Settling down is the goal for Bob. He loves the idea of being able to find a place where he can buy a house and turn it into y’all’s dream home with a bunch of animals and maybe even kids if you’re open to them. Of course his career comes first, but secretly Bob is already saving for that ring to propose to you with and put a down payment on a home.

Cooking is actually something he enjoys. Even before you two got together Bob made it a point to know how to cook because he did not want to rely on getting take out every night or making what a college student would eat. He knows how to grill, make homemade soup, different types of pasta with his own sauce and makes it a point to try a hand at foods from different cultures—his favorites so far are Middle Eastern, Mexican, & Thai.

Yes Bob can clean—in fact there is not a single thing out of order in your place because Bob cannot stand to have a messy household. Maybe it’s his military brain kicking in that prevents him from being disorganized, or he just simply likes having things neat. But you don’t mind at all because there is nothing like coming home to a spotless place and not having much chores to do. He cleans up after himself and will never have the dishes pile up in the sink.

E = Ending (if they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)

Y’all I can’t imagine breaking Bob’s heart (I’ll literally throw myself off a cliff than do that) and I can’t see him doing the same so let’s not think about this. For our own heart’s sake 😩

F = Fiancé(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)

Yeah Bob pretty much knew he wanted to marry you the second he met you. For years he loved you before y’all got together so the future with you was something he envisioned a lot but never thought would actually happen. You were his person, and he was yours till the last breath.

Because of his job and wanting you to be with him when he changes duty stations, Bob would offer getting legally married pretty quick after proposing. It wasn’t ideal—he would love to have y’all be engaged for some time and plan a nice ceremony—but nonetheless you guys (along with Phoenix) drove to the courthouse to say ‘I do’. Eventually once you guys were settled, you two would have an official ceremony with your friends and family and it was just as perfect as the first time you said your vows. “Here we go again, darling.” “Hopefully I won’t mess up the words this time around.”

G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)

He is very gentle—the man is literally a 6ft teddy bear who will tear up if you’re crying because it pains him to see you sad. Bob’s touch is soft and comforting, which makes you yearn for it whenever he is not there and counting down the moments ti’ll you can be in his arms. When it comes to emotions, Bob is very in tune with yours and his own. He is not afraid to show his vulnerability with you and communicates rather than keeping it in until it consumes him. “Tell me what’s on your mind, baby.” “Sometimes I-I feel like making one mistake out there will be the thing that defines me. I’m so scared of that happening for fear it will be true. A-and I’ll let everyone down—even you.” “You could never let me down, Bobby. You are the most intelligent person I know. Any obstacles thrown at you, you can pull through and not let it define you. And I’ll be here every step of the way.”

H = Hugs (do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)

Bobby boy is a hugger—which only you get to see really. Hugs with his friends happen occasionally, but it you who he loves to hug and will give you one every day. He loves the moments when you come to base to see him where he practically runs to swoop you off your feet leaving you in a fit of giggles.

I = I love you (how fast do they say the L-word?)

He said it fast—literally confessed to you how he felt which started your relationship. Bob had been pinning after you for some time after y’all first met for he was captivated by everything about you. It was probably a year or so going on two of this man just falling hopelessly in love with you from the sidelines. Phoenix was the one who had to give him a push when she discovered his unspoken (yet painfully obvious) feelings for you. And you may have also let her in on a little secret cause one night at the Hard Deck she’s slapping Bob upside the head and saying, “Bob, what are you waiting for? Tell them how you feel before someone swoops in!” “I can’t just drop it on them, Nix! What if they don’t feel the same?” “Oh my gosh, man, they do! Y/n drunkenly confessed to me the other night.”

When he finally does the man is speechless after you reveal the same. “Wait really—,” you cut him off with a kiss which he wholeheartedly returns, smiling into it like a kid on Christmas Day. “Oh, Bobby boy, I’ve been waiting to hear you say that. I love you too.”

J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)

Bob does not really get jealous and if he ever does he’s the type who’d apologize for it. Like one time there was an Officer’s banquet you two attended and a single officer took a liking to you which had Bob holding you a little closer, kissing your cheek affectionately, and giving the man a glare when he caught his eye. You found it amusing, pressing against Bob with a smirk as you said, “What’s that face for, Bobby?” And he blushes, looking away as he replies sheepishly, “Sorry, darling. I didn’t like how he was behaving toward you.” “I only got eyes for you handsome. I’ll make sure to show you that later.”

When it comes to the dagger squad he doesn’t react because he knows it’s all in good heart and just to get under his skin when they playfully flirt with you. It does fills him with pride when you reject the guys or girls and go, ‘sorry, buddy. You know I only got the hots for a certain WSO,’ before sitting on his lap and kissing him.

K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)

Oh Bobby boys lips are smooth and soft like room temperature butter. He’s always gentle when kissing you, only getting rough when the moment is heating up. He will cup your jaw, look you dead in the eyes and slowly lower his mouth to yours and hold you close to him with his other hand. Bob loves to kiss you on the nose—which often ignites a giggle from you. He will do it at random times to catch you off guard and whenever you’re pouting at him. “Why do you kiss my nose so much?” “Cause it’s just so cute like you.”

For Bob, he loves when you kiss him on the forehead. He relishes the moments where you hold him after he’s had a long day at work or is feeling down and you gently caress his forehead with your mouth before placing soft little kisses on the area. What gets him is after y’all have gotten down and dirty in the sheets and he’s hovering over you, you’ll cup his face in your hands and bring him down so you can kiss his forehead. That gesture in itself nearly starts round two.

L = Little ones (how are they around children?)

Bob loves kids and is so good around them it makes you wanna give him babies right then and there. He is so attentive with y’all’s nieces and nephews or the kids of your friends, crouching down to their level to talk to them and answer their curious questions. Yeah you get baby fever a lot with Bob. He would love to have kids with you if that was something you wanted, but would want it to be when he was at a stable point in his career. What he fears the most is leaving you behind with children if something were to go wrong in a mission. Bob would never be able to forgive himself for causing pain to you or your family.

M = Morning (how are mornings spent with them?)

With dating anyone in the armed forces, you can expect early mornings with Bob. He’s got to be up bright and early for PT, missions, training, or just for a daily workday that often starts at 5am. You may not get to see him a lot in the morning before you head to work yourself but the times you do you cherish. It could be a quick ‘love you, darling,’ with a kiss on the cheek as you lay in bed, or being able to have breakfast together.

the days neither of you work are spend in bed. Literally. Bob will sleep in till 10 am, holding you close to his chest and kiss you awake before making you breakfast in bed. Then you two would spent some more time cuddling while watching Tv until you finally decide to get up and start your day. “We gotta get out of this bed at some point, Bobby.” “Five more minutes, please, baby?”

N = Night (how are nights spent with them?)

Since Bob has to be up early on the weekdays, he likes to go to sleep early at around 8-9ish pm. You both will have dinner together whether it be cooked or one of you picking something up on y’all’s way home and talk about your day before washing the dishes together. Afterwards you may cuddle or read together before doing your nighttime routine and falling asleep in each other’s arms.

On weekends Bob stays up later than he usually does because you two will make plans. These plans are either meeting up with the squad for drinks or Bob taking you out on a nice date. He makes it his goal to take you on one each week so expect Bob telling you on Thursday night, ‘I’m taking you out tomorrow, darlin’.” “Where’re we going?” “Oh, that’s a surprise.”

TG:M gave us no background information on the pasts of anyone but rooster, so here are my ideas for just a few of the dagger squad members :)!

Phoenix

Admiral's daughter, but is mostly no contact with her family. I saw this in a fic, I cannot remember the name of for the life of me, and I love it. From the Northeast, I'm thinking like McGuire base area. Her parents were in a rocky marriage when she was kid, but eventually something clicked and they made it work. She has two older twin brothers who she talks to on occasion. She was a "teenage dirtbag" kid because her parents were super controlling, and bc of their high expectations has a gifted kid complex. She went to USMA, and met Rooster there since he had to go through college after Mav pulled his papers. They bunked a lot when they lived off campus. She has definitely dated the opposite sex before, would be open to a new relationship, but is more focused on her career.

Bob

Comes from a highly decorated Marine family. Did not want to go through the Marine training, so he stuck with the Navy. South Carolina family, and from a big family, but his mother was a single mom so he was an only child until he was about fourteen and his mom remarried into ANOTHER military family and had his little sister. She is his absolute favorite person, they are extremely close. He was a goody two-shoes, high achieving kid, and was actually extremely popular in school despite being super shy. He went straight through enlistment, had his papers denied, went to community college for a few years and then enlisted again and got accepted. Has little to no dating experience, but doesnt mind it at all, he's open to experimentation.

Hangman

Navy family, 100%. Big big Texan family, he has seven siblings. Eight of them, total. He's the second eldest, having one older sister, a younger sister, a set of twin brothers, and two younger sisters. His parents dote on eachother 24/7 and even though his family is full of cocky SOBs, they're all very respectful actually. He followed in his mom's footsteps with becoming a Navy Pilot. He wasn't a 'write home to mom' kid but his parents loved him. Big football guy, captain of the team his junior and senior year of highschool and got a scholarship to Navy to play, extremely popular in high school, stereotypical jock, etc etc. He met Coyote, Fanboy, an Payback in Navy. Has dated all over, has the most sexual experience out of everyone, but is hoping to settle down eventually.

Coyote

From a "serve the people" family full of EMTs, Nurses, Doctors, Teachers, Firefighters, etc. Both of his older sisters are nurses, his mom is a career firefighter and his dad is a retired doctor turned EMT. Despite growing up hearing about it, he cannot handle surgery and injuries, so he went into the Navy to also have the serving the people esc. job. Southern vibes, maybe Georgia? Not sure exactly. Growing up he was pretty outgoing, but classified as nerdy so he wasn't super popular. He played baseball and was hella good at it, but did not want to make it a career because he didn't like the fame aspect of it. He played baseball for Navy in college though, which is where he met Hangman, Fanboy and Payback. Has only dated men, unsure if he's gay or bi, doesn't really care. He's just here for a good time damnit.

Fanboy

From a business savvy 9-5 family, and he hated the way they lived. He wanted to do something different, but ended up not getting much financial help for college-- so he went through the college route, and went to Navy, which is where he actually met Payback and Coyote. He has two younger brothers who are both taking over the family business, even with that strain he's still super close to them. They try to visit him a lot because the family is from Los Angeles. Growing up he was just your average student, but a really good football player. Played with Hangman in college as a running back. Has dated a bit, but not well versed.

Payback

Washington state kid, has lived on the West Coast his whole life. Only child with mass amounts of cousins. Was very popular in school, held a lot fo parties at his house, but also wasn't dumb and made sure people were always safe. Was a band kid-- drum line, but ended up stopping Marching Band in college. Average B/C student, nothing spectacular. He's dated pretty much every type of person, but isn't really looking for much romance at the moment, though he's very spontaneous so that could always change.

20. What’s something you learned this year?

errrrr wel idk if i learned any Big Life Lessons this year, none come to mind lol so instead i'll just say i've continued learning Welsh ...felly dwi'n medru dweud mwy o bethau yn Gymraeg nag o'r blaen (ond dwi ddim yn rhugl o gwbl,, ond gobeithio dwi'n tyfu mwy bob dydd!)

24. Did you keep any New Year’s Resolutions?

i'm kinda anti-new year's resolutions as a concept so no i did not because i didn't set any lol. i did have goals throughout the year, to do something creative every day and to read more, i guess. i didn't create something every day but i think i did more than usual, and i read more than usual though i definitely did not read a lot (maybe like 2 books lmaoooo)

i am also totally that person that copy and pastes my description of myself because i can only think about what i do for so long before my brain feels like it's going to explode, for someone who has a big ego, i cannot for the life of me remember what makes me me sometimes

anywayyy I'm 5'4 with long dark brown hair and brown/hazelish eyes. I'm extremely extroverted and love socialising and talking to people and flirting hehe. I can come off as a little cocky sometimes but i am just highly confident in myself and what i do (even if sometimes i am bluffing for the sake of bluffing it till i make it hehe). I'm currently studying psychology and am going to be an officer in the army one day (i'm already an infantry reservist so already starting a little). I spend a lot of time at the gym and focusing on eating well as i strongly believe in keeping fit and treating myself right so naturally, i am on the muscular and not super skinny side. I am the mum/dad of my friend group cause for some reason i give those vibes off, maybe it's just cause i'm good at herding all of my mates together and telling them to sit down and shut up. Probably also because i'm extremely empathetic, like to the point where i kinda unconsciously take on other peoples emotions. In past relationships i've been pretty chill and independent but most of them haven't worked out because i need a man who shows me he want to be with me and if i don't get that then i kinda lose interest. I am also extremely chaotic, like just 24/7 even when i feel like shit you will catch me being spontaneous as hell or laughing my ass off at my own jokes and just always gotta be using my brain for something. I have been described by a lot of people as intimidating or a 'spitfire' cause i'm small but very outspoken and prepared to fight a bitch if they try me or especially my friends. I've also been told i'm scary by a lot of my guy mates cause if you try talk shit i'll put you in your place pretty quickly. i’m a 5’7 gal with pale skin, blue/grey eyes and dark brown wavy hair just past my shoulders. got cheek dimples. i’m an only child, so comfortable being alone. i wear thick black glasses pretty much 24/7, and have a bunch of random tattoos all over my body.

i’m a very stereotypical INTP/Ravenclaw personality, and a virgo sun/cancer moon. i’m also autistic (albeit usually perceived as lower support needs) and probs undiagnosed adhd. basically i’m a sucker for learning all the time, pretty book smart, detail-oriented and analytical, crippled by anxiety, a bit of a perfectionist, very empathetic, and hypervigilant of everything around. very bad at taking criticism and can be argumentative if i disagree strongly. have lots of acquaintances but only a couple really close friends. my love language is physical touch and giving gifts.

- When it comes to being a perfectionist, he doesn’t mind it one bit, but he also hates to see you be so hard on yourself sometimes, “you’ve done enough honey, now go rest”

- you would definitely introduce him to mystery tv 🤣 and he would end up liking it almost more than you LOL, usually on nights when you guys stay in, it’s kind of an unspoken rule that you guys watch at least one episode before watching any other movies or things like that

- you guys are a very nice and empathetic couple overall, if someone is in need, you guys will help them, especially for close friends and family, that’s a big thing in y’all’s relationship, is that you guys care for eachother and others 100% almost to where sometimes people look forward to hanging out with you guys because y’all are so kinda and welcoming

- whenever you are reading something he will come up and ask you, “what are you reading?” and once you tell him he would be like, “oh that sounds really nice, can I read it afterwards?” It would become a habit that you guys read books and then recommend them based off which books sound the most like the other

- you guys barely argue, but when you two do, it usually is calm and you guys try to talk it out between each other, communication is always key in a relationship so both of you try to listen and understand what the other person is feeling and where they are coming from, that way fights don’t turn into a screaming match between you two

- he thinks every single one of your tattoos are so cool and unique, he’ll usually ask you about one of them from time to time and ask you why you got that one and why you got it in that spot, he thinks tattoos suit you so nicely and loves kissing each and every one of your tattoos when he gets the chance

The 100 Best Satirical Movies of All Time

So, this was a tricky one, and I'm not sure I entirely succeeded.

Satire is a quite specific strain of comedy that uses humour to criticize and attack hypocrisy, injustice, stupidity and pomposity in an attempt to improve society by lampooning it: another way to put it is that it's parody with a point. And while many comedies will have satirical moments, it can be debatable as to whether they have anything meaningful to say as a whole, or change as their aim. And many films that explicitly have ONLY change as their aim just aren't very funny at ALL, and so end up being nothing more than propaganda.  

So, there's some grey area and because of that I'm sure I will have included some films some people will feel don't meet those requirements, and overlooked others that do.

On top of that, there's also the challenge of knowing how best to rank them: for their objective quality as films, how funny they are or how well they succeed at hitting their targets?

I've generally gone with the latter, and very loosely ordered them more on their worth as satire than their objective quality as films or number of belly laughs, but I will try to revise the list as more come to mind or I remove some that, upon further reflection, I don't feel make the grade.

I forgot to mention in that whole post I should also judge my mental pictures as they have changed distracted over the months.

They use to be all intrusive. The creature with hair, other things like naked body parts. Or kids 🤢 everything was frozen in time with no movement.... every Intrusive image was incredibly vivid. I could see every fucking detail.

Then they went to bunnies, Bob burgers, cartoons, video games, but I had little control over making the image..everything was still frozen in time. And out of my control. I could still the intrusive images but they became less vivid and clear. Pieces were missing such as an eye or nose or half was blacked out

Then I was able to make my own mental images a turkey with a pipe, a volleyball net a backpack whatever you name it. I couldn't picture anything with clarity but I could picture almost anything and most importantly i could stop/change bad mental images psychosis would try to cause. I would see thr creature with hair more clearly but messed up and I could put pixels in front of the face. Everything was still frozen in time. The Intrusive images stopped entirely when I tried to picture them they were almost all blacked out.

Now I had full control, I can make any picture I want. Hands and feet are either cartoon or transparent ( back in the day I would get fucked up images of hands and feet realisitcally that would bend out of shape or elongate bc i was scared or depersonalizing. That was something the voice was trying to say wouldn't happen but we would day no mental images but psychosis had a mind of its own- it turned it I to cartoon and paws like by January) now it's transparent or cartoon hands..

Now I can imagine movement. I can see people throwing a ball. I can see people moving a table.

That's how I know psychosis is getting better. I did have mental images before psychosis but they weren't Intrusive or negative in any way. I had control over them and they just weren't significant... which is why I didn't remember..

So beyond judging through voice hallucination- I'm going to keep a close eye on my mental pictures to see if I'm backtracking.

They are one of the only ways i know psychosis is going away.

Seeing mental pictures in motion may not seem like a big deal to anyone else who has a normal brain but for me it makes me cry happy tears.

I can make them all move. Having them frozen in time was scary. And I knew something was wrong. I'm crying as I write this bc that's how I know it's psychosis and that's how I know I'm getting better.

Hopefully these don't go backwards.
