Month 1, Year 10

Wynna and Consort Suzan recover from the illness. 

Month 2, Year 10

Lady Britannia and Prince Merrick recover from the illness. 

Month 3, Year 10

Wynna succumbs once more to the disease, along with Lady Britannia, Prince Merrick, Princess Jessika, and Consort Suzan. His majesty, avoiding the harem entirely, has so far escaped the disease. 

Month 4, Year 10

Princess Bethney dies of the illness. She is only one year old. 

Month 5, Year 10

Lyrica and Princess Jessika recover, but Consort Makayla and Prince Bolton die of the illness. The young prince is, like Princess Bethney, only a year old. In the midst of the horridness, Tobin and Hildred, safe beyond the palace’s walls, celebrate their sixth birthdays. 

Month 6, Year 10

Wynna recovers just in time for my birthday. We all send letters of congratulations to Tod for Jameson’s first birthday.

Month 7, Year 10

Lady Jaylin dies of illness. Disgraced Lady Hope requests my presence at her deathbed, and I go (mostly out of curiosity as to what we could want to discuss). What she said I will never forget, nor will I tell another living soul what we said. (I will leave enclosed what I recall of what we said, and what she told me, but I will never speak a word of it otherwise, and no one able to reveal it will live long beyond me finding them.) Unrelated, I write Tod for borrowed use of his mimic bird. He agrees.

Month 8, Year 10

Prince Hamilton recovers. Consort Addyson is found dead in her bed, chest punctured with one deep hole. His majesty questions me; it is ultimately found that there is nothing to find in my palace, and he leaves it there. Tod, unrelatedly, writes his thanks that the mimic bird has returned to the estate safely and without undue questioning on his empress sister’s uses for it. 

Month 9, Year 10

Prince Merrick dies of illness, aged five years old. The same age as Percival when he was killed. Rancilla turns two in the comforts of my palace, her siblings and I all safely recovered from the rampaging illness. 

Month 10, Year 10

His majesty’s and Lyrica’s birthdays have swung ‘round again, and this time, what with there being no sign of illness in my palace for nearly three months now (not at all the state in Britannia’s or Suzan’s palaces, I assure you), he attends Lyrica’s party. There is dancing, and singing, and for a moment I imagine I had married another young lord who might see their children more often, might hold them in his arms every day as opposed to every month or year. I imagine Lynwood’s soft expression as he peers at our girls on another man’s face, and it does not come to me easily. Perhaps that is a sign. 

Month 11, Year 10

Lady Britannia succumbs to the illness. The remaining two children in her palace’s care, Prince Hamilton and Princess Jessika (Disgraced Lady Hope’s remaining legacy) are deemed healthy and given into my care. They are suspicious and of course upset by yet another change, or at least Prince Hamilton is, being five and suspicious. We celebrate Jessika’s second birthday in the gardens of my palace, braving the chill to stand in the winter’s bright sun. 

Month 12, Year 10

Consort Suzan, the last of my fellow residents of the Gardens, passes in her sleep. I mail Tod a portrait of my new family: myself, the girls, Hamilton, and Jessika. His majesty is out of the portrait, just the implied golden flash of his cloak at the portrait’s edge. I am sitting center-stage, with beautiful Lyrica, getting so tall at nine, at my shoulder with Parsley in her arms. Wynna, Tod’s birthday-fellow at eight, is grinning out at the portrait’s viewer, though there is a space left open beside her for Percival’s rightful place. There is a tinge of sadness to her smile, that Percival is not there to share in the joy she feels. Rancilla, only two, is settled at my feet beside fellow two-year-old Jessika. Hamilton is at my other shoulder, frowning slightly with nerves. His hands are clenched around Merrick’s old blanket. He has refused to set it down, and as he is five and grieving, I do not force it of him. We are heart-kin, he and I, and I respect that suffering he feels. I hope Tod understands the message: that I have adopted my husband’s remaining children into my clan, and he is to do the same.

Maybe the brf was right to be worried about being called racist. The UK press is being labeled racist right now. I agree with other anons that the brf response is not great. I'm was just on the real housewives reddit page and bethney Frankle is saying everything we are and getting ripped apart for it. All of M's PR points are brought up by posters. UK press racist, Kate had it easier, she's such a humanitarian. If the brf was behind building this image, wow, sure backfired on them.

I find the “Kate had it easier” arguments particularly frustrating. Kate waited eight years! 8!!! And those years were a freaking PhD on handling the royal court and the UK press. No wonder she was successful. She basically had a Doctorate on Handling Royal Bullshit from the #1 program of Media Harassment Survival at Evil UK Tabloid University.

Meghan did a 9-month mail order course from the unranked department of Media Adoration Studies at Worshipful US Mag Institute of BS. Of course she wasn’t as successful.

anyone else notice how whatever character is ok to mercilessly shit on changes every other month?

like one of the popular bloggers will post non stop hate/criticism (which isn’t necessarily a bad thing to do btw) to one specific character and then within a week everyone who likes or makes positive content said character is considered a “horrible person”, but then in like a month or so, some blogger comes in like “yo... who understand your frustration with this character...but they have complexity and potential...trauma even” and then they make amazing art and a thorough rewrite to go with it and then the next day everyone is in love with them?

thats why i never take any of this weird mob mentality of “FUCK THIS CHARACTER AND ANYONE WHO LIKES THEM!!1!” shit seriously cause this fandom changes thier opinion once a week. one minute every hates dave to the point where they censor his name, next thing you know everyone and thier cousin is getting their dave on. acting like he’s just some smol lil uwu quirky bean that only harasses women to cope with anxiety or some shit. this shit happens to literally every character. give it a month and someone with come in with some beth rewrite or some shit and everyone will regret those “homophobic beth” headcanons :/ i expect to see unironic bethney (that’s beth and courtney not beth and rodney btw) art by memorial day.

Confessions of an Empress, Year 8

Month 2, Year 8

The imperial doctors have confirmed it: I am pregnant again. It is early days yet so there’s no indication if it could be twins again or not, but Lyrica and the twins are a little older now so I feel alright popping out another baby to care for right now. 

Month 4, Year 8

Lady Addyson and Disgraced Lady Hope have both sent out notices of pregnancy. Disgraced Lady Hope, having been imprisoned for abusing her children, has been given a rudimentary living space while she is pregnant. It is decreed she won’t be allowed to keep custody of the child when it’s born, but she may be released from imprisonment to stay in the rudimentary palace afterwards. An illness takes hold of myself and Percival, causing concern for my pregnancy. 

Month 5, Year 8

I am in seclusion once more and can’t be with them, but Tobin and Hildred are sent beautiful paintings for their birthdays. 

Month 6, Year 8

My birthday is spent sweating on my bed, still suffering from my illness. His majesty has married a new wife, Miss Suzan Elwes, a common woman he met at a summer festival. 

Month 7, Year 8

My son, Prince Percival, is murdered while laying ill in his bed. It appears to be a murder attempt on my own life, but he is caught in the crossfire. His murderer is not caught. I tear the harem apart looking for his killer, but there is only so much to be done when I cannot leave my own bed. His twin, Wynna, spends days looking for him, as though the maids are lying about him being gone forever. His body is burned to prevent the spread of disease, but I am given his ashes to keep. His majesty declares a day of mourning for him, and I sit for days in silence as it sinks in. He was only five years old. He will never be six. 

Month 8, Year 8

Still I lay in bed, deeply pregnant, ill to my bones, but still, I send Azura framed portraits of her children. The greatest gift I can give right now; the sight of her children, safe and unblemished by hatred. 

Month 9, Year 8

I give birth to a daughter, Princess Rancilla. She has his majesty’s golden eyes, a first among our children. Lady Suzan sends out a notice of pregnancy. 

Month 10, Year 8

His majesty visits for Lyrica’s birthday. The deep ache of seeing him for the first time, the image of what Percival could have grown into, leaves me cold inside. I do not greet him; he does not acknowledge me. 

Month 11, Year 8

Lady Addyson gives birth to a girl she names Bethney. Disgraced Lady Hope gives birth to a girl as well, Princess Jessika. Jessika is given over into the care of Lady Britannia alongside her brothers. Disgraced Lady Hope is removed from imprisonment, as promised. Lady Addyson is conferred the title of Consort. Azura sent a letter announcing her own pregnancy, which was of immense comfort to me. I have not been allowed to hold Rancilla or see my other girls due to my long-lasting illness, stretching into discomforting territory now, and my mind was suffering for it. 

Month 12, Year 8

Wynna’s birthday (and Percival’s) comes upon us slowly and with great suffering. I was not involved much, my spirit pulling away from celebration of such a thing. Tod does not ask me for anything. I can feel that his spirit hurts as well as mine, and we cry together across a great distance for the future we have lost. His majesty meets Lady Makayla Armstrong at the Year’s End Ball and marries her.
