Could you go into the meaning behind the aesthetics? I'm intrigued but I'm uncertain if I'm fully grasping everything I want too!
Character by character? Sure. Clockwise from the top left: young anglos only I will have to do the others another time
Tumblr media
Alfred: Clockwise from the top left: chalkboard to represent his math and science oriented brain from early days especially as he predates calculus in multiple handwritings to show the collaboration of science. Lady liberty emerging from the fog, his ideals looming over him. The microscope is a sign of innovation. The moon is his hops and ambitions ever upward. The car both the american auto industry and the innate loneliness of it. The national bird, the eagle in flight, the ferocity and aim he often has for his goals. the horseshoes for the old west but also the odd nostalgia Alfred has for things that never were. Then the star, rusting on a warship. theoretical end of empire but never the end of american airpower. And finally his portrait is his spacesuit. The only one without hair/visible human features because no country has ever projected such a strong image around the world and it obscures him.
Tumblr media
Matt: Whittling with a small knife because he's got anxiety and a lot of woods. a looming moose for the darker force and mystery of nature and his own personality. Pancakes because he's a domestic fuck when permitted. a hatchet. Lots of wood an also war crimes. his tools are often weapons too. Maple tapping. A reliance on the natural resources at his disposal that shaped his culture tightly. man's outline in front of a fire is for Matt's propensity for salt and burning and personally annihilating obstacles when properly motivated. sunrise through a frosted window. Spring and hope rising over winter and despair. A repeating rifle. He too, is the result the arms of empire. And finally his 'portrait' a young man facedown in the sheets, lots of curls. This one is popular for Matt aesthetics for the hair but he's a tired, depressive bastard who tends to linger in safety rather than push himself for better.
Tumblr media
Jack: a selection of fossils. The happiest part of his childhood was in natural history but these very collections are soaked in empire. A kangaroo and joey. His fauna but also his instincts of aggression about his environment and sometimes his sister. Meat pies because they're popular but also, born a penal colony he lacked a lot of agency over his own food and being as fast growing as he was he's a chronic snacker. map of Australia. could be self explanatory but even all the way down there he's pretty concerned about his place in the world and tends to look at himself at globes when he sees one. Two horses. Man and his country love to race but also I picked two because he really is not a person who prefers to be alone for long periods of time, as misanthropic as he can be. Surfboards: he loves his water-sports but the sunny, 'no-worries, mate' attitude too. Coffee on books. He's always been very keen to prove his wine, coffee, cuisine and tastes can stand up to the snobs and a flat white was an Australian invention. Golden wattle is the national flower and symbolizes resilience, often appearing first after fires and floods. And finally the portrait. A young man with a collar pulled up and one hand on the back of his neck, pondering his future? being a bit sheepish? both suit him.
Tumblr media
Zee: Two sheep gently headbutting each other. Sheep and a stubborn affection is something she shares with Jack even if it probably influenced her culture more. Books because she's the best educated of her generation for a long time but the titles for birds, fairytales and oxford classic texts are for her famous birds, her two sets of folklore and culture and her oxford education. Kiwi box on bike handlebars. Bicycles were a massive part of early feminism and her own independence. The box and kiwi silhouette see something she probably knocked together herself. She's handly like that. Silver ferns are a national symbol and very hard to kill, resilient and the shape is very elegant and invokes Māori art and resistance. A grumpy looking Kea. This image looks very cranky but they're the goofiest and probably smartest birds on the face of the earth. Map of new zealand on a globe. Her name is bigger than she is on the map because its somewhat imposed on her nd there's also her brother always in the corner. A canoe or boat to symbolize her maritime culture, but also her own ability to build and engineer and pilot one. Her portrait I chose a woman with her hair type elegantly put up and looking away, back to a wall, a hint of a smile on her face because she has her strict lines and a slog of struggles but also a pretty decent place in the world.

alright so I went to geelong gaol today and I have to admit I finally learned the definition of ‘vagabond’ while I was there. and it just makes me appreciate your url even more! an express (train)?!? perfect for vagabonds. nomads. travellers, lost and searching but who like it better that way, without a home that stays in one spot. and it got me thinking, why is so much architecture designed for those who have a home base? why? Australia was never like that. we were always a land of those who roamed around in harmony with the seasons and cycles of nature and heck, I don’t do well with just One Home Base when I’m someone who makes a career about building places that are home for people and I work at the moment at a planetary scale. the homes I create don’t have to be in one place. more often they are relational. tracing the stories written in the land like sheet music. paving our cities, paving the land I now think I’ve figured out how to decolonialise, to de-occupy. Steward again. bc people don’t really care about the land if they go by this colonial way of settling, it’s just all about prime location for the things they’re around and property value and what buildings and shit they put on top of the land. not the land itself. and if you’re a traveller like me. the land connects all the places you go. speaks and begs for better. maybe I’m getting emotional bc of bushrangers who were all so young, too young to go through what they did, and the devastation of colonial settlement that honestly makes me numb it’s so horrific and I’ve had it in the back of my mind for years, but maybe australia has always been the land of the vagabond and we do best to get back to it.
not a knife's throw from here you can here the night train passing / it's the sound somebody makes when they're getting away
(you throw 5sos at me and I'll throw bruce cockburn back at you)
it's funny because initially, .thevagabondexpress as a url wasn't something into which i put much deep thought. when i set up my ao3 (the first thing with this name) it was throwaway, a silly reference to a crack fanfic i wrote and never published in early high school. i wanted my friends who knew that story to be able to recognize me from the reference if they found me, that's all.
here on earth i tend to put down roots. i get attached to a place. i don't travel, much. but i grew up in chicago with railway tracks literally right on other side of the alley behind my house, i could've stood in the garage doorway and thrown a stone and hit them. train was how we went downtown and how we got home, green-tinted windows that left you seeing pink and the rock island line is a mighty fine road, the rock island line is the road to ride and singing "don't stop believin'" with a bunch of drunk college students in the upper deck on the way to pride. and it was how we got around downtown too, this is the purple-line train to howard, howard.
i still prefer the train. it's how i took my graduation trip, back to edmonton to see the city where i was born. i've been lost in union station toronto.
i think of poems i love: elizabeth bishop's the moose, and gate a-4 by naomi shihab nye and rosebud ben-oni's matarose tags g-dragon on the seven, and my beloved, lunar baedeker by mina loy which makes me think of vera historia makes me think of science fiction. a favorite genre. makes me think of astronomy magazine.

hi. person who drew the sniperspy cig touching thing here. i got jumpscared with the follow but thank you!! i've been lurking around your blog for a while because, well, it's cool as hell, and i'm aussie too but i've never set foot outside the city (aside from school trips and stuff) so it's a side of australia i never get to personally interact with even though i live in the same damn country. your blog is super interesting and i love reading through your stories. uhh this is a niche topic but i like reading about your hair stories! my hair is super long (longer than my arms can reach, albeit pretty thin) and i plait it every morning and idk. it's like seeing someone out there with a million differences between us but one simple and oftentimes impractical similarity. i feel like i should ask something so what's the worst thing it's gotten caught on when it was long? and what's the best part about having a mullet?
Hello! Nice to meet you! :]
What's the worst thing your hair was ever caught on when it was long?
I was a teenager. Barbed-wire fence on the property. It'd been a windy day and it'd tussled my hair a lot. I'd forgotten to braid it that morning and hadn't thought it'd be that windy. Got snagged. The more I struggled the worse it got. I was stuck. Ended up cutting off that lock with my knife. Wasn't that much hair at all but that knot would've been impossible to remove anyway.
When I was younger I briefly grew it out over a year (much to my dad's disapproval) and it got matted while swimming. My mum spent almost six hours gradually unmatting it. Cheers, mum.
What's the best part about having a mullet?
Long enough to keep the sun off my neck if I'm not wearing a hat, short enough that it doesn't get in the way at all. Also it's really easy maintenance. I cut it in the mirror of my ute with a pair of scissors. (Bogan shit, ay?)

The noddle shop
word count - 885
Hello welcome, this is my first short story break while I'm writing my novel. My best friend gives me prompts to write so I don't become bored or have writers block. Im hoping to use my tumblr page as a way to show what my writing journey looks likes. So please be kind and feedback would be lovely.
Again.
It had been awhile since i've been to this part of the town. Years in fact the old asians man that ran the shop had let me in. Quietly sweeping, cleaning up bowls and just looking at how peaceful it is to be here. Aware that I didn’t have to clean up. This isn't even my shop or that I work here. It's just nice. The girl that was closing had two kids under the age of five or so.
This place used to be a restaurant years ago in the 50’s and 60’s I had said to the young girl, or what I had meant to say was that it had been.
Our’s.
My husband  and I couldn't keep up with everything. Then the small town grew over our heads. We got bought out then it was turned into a book shop, then it was a sex shop, a weed shop ect. Until one day I stop counting. It was really something you know I had told the owners every time I came to say hello i’d bring a tin of chocolate chip cookies greet them and walk away. It didn't always go well. Sometimes it was good luck these cookies brought and others bad.
The shop then laid un rented for years and my husband got worse. Money was not the problem, it was the fact that she is lonely.
She watched as the warm and funny and sometimes sweet husband was fading so she could no longer care for him. Somedays remembering how they had painted their  home light blue or the fact that he had always loved to cook or the fact that on their first date she had drawn the design on the back of a nacking and how sweet he had been to her.
The love they had was all that she needed, it being the one thing that kept over the years how strong that it was.
When world war two just began they had moved to Australia and were setting up their lives, how scary it had been. Her husband had been drafted and she was as well. The day before her love had left he gave her a knife to hide on her person because he  was worried that something would happen. It happened to be a good thing that he did. But that is a different story. She called thoses the dark years. When they reunited it was really happy together they bought a place that was small and could be a small restaurant. At first it was a struggle, then they had gotten better at customs and they had opened a bar as well. It was a peaceful life, well her partner having kids was a part of that. she  had wished for.
It never came..
Sitting down in the noodle shop, crying, reminiscing about happier times. She was becoming more alone, the shop had been closed for hours.. Does it matter she thought to herself cleaning and just sitting there unwilling to move not sure what she should do maybe she should go home? Or…  no why would she bother with that one.. Driving around the city  could work instead.  Sighing, she got up, locked the door and left the shop.
Looking around the city as she drove, all she could see was where she and her husbend went and the membery that came with that.
It was a lonely but peaceful sight, the lights of the city and neon signs. The song playing on the radio was their wedding song. Tears sliding down her cheeks…
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“MA’AM, CAN YOU HEAR ME.”  the voice asked.
I  tried to answer but could’nt speak. It was hard to move, hands were pulling me  down. Out of my  body, the feeling of it made my skin crawl, what happened. Oh…
I crashed my  car. The car so that must mean that I'm dead or  slowly dying.
-------------------------------------------
“Clear.”
“Clearing, sir, she's not responding.” the paramedic replied.
“Clear again.” the small paramedic yelled back
“ Ma’am please if you can hear us please hang in there.”   the 2nd paramedic said.
“ She’s back.”
“ Great, get her in the back.”
“ Yes sir.”
-------------------------------------------
The doors had  shut behind me .
Everything felt weird out of body hands pushing  me  down and shoved me  backup like water at the beach, the slients cold and uncaring. This isn't making any sense it should’nt feel like this water or flooding around my  body. Then it hit me. I’m  stuck, somewheres in between. It should’nt be like this: why am I not dead or alive, awake and  walking or in a bed. But instad  Im in water cold and  the darkness that lays all around my body, floating in the uncaring water after almost drowning was weird but feeling hands shoving me  up was weirder.
Water was coming out from my  lungs and being around in the cold water and the creepyness of the darkness, the weight of it keeping me  unable to move or me able to start trying to get out or fight or even to swim was’nt working. Was  I  in a coma?
That would make sense maybe.
I miss my husbend but he is not with me anymore.
Am I ready to live on my own though?..

The Iron Monster Raid - Assorted Thoughts
*Note regarding page numbers: the story starts on page 11
Hitch concusses himself on the jeep on page 23*, so you know it's going to be a good book.
This author really, really wants to make sure that you know everybody's first and last name. And rank. And the last thing he wants to do is use the same configuration of a character's name twice in a row. Which leads to paragraphs like, "He passed the glasses to Pettigrew. Keeping in a low crouch, Tully worked his way up through the rocks..." (17).
...and sentences like, "I'd hate to meet up with Capt. Hans Dietrich again with no more firepower than that" (12).
...and also Troy addressing Moffitt as Jack for no apparent reason, which makes me vaguely uncomfortable.
...and Moffitt addressing Troy as Sam, which is even worse.
Don't worry if you didn't catch where Moffitt's from. He's referred to as "the Englishman" at least every other dialogue tag.
Same goes for Tully and Hitch, though it's slightly less frequent.
I don't know if we get any reminders about where Troy's from, but by golly, you'll know he spent time in Australia.
Troy re: Dietrich: "'That guys is the wiliest tank company comander Rommel ever trained'" (12).
"Although [Troy and Tully] had been together on at least fifty raids, [Troy] could never tell for sure when Tully was joking" (19).
"It was so black that Moffitt grabbed Troy's pistol belt to keep from getting separated" (25). This is such a funny image.
"Sam took the grenade Hitchcock handed him and started running forward himself" (31). I am having a visceral reaction to this name weirdness.
Dietrich gets to be the one testing this new giant monster tank. I was starting to wonder if he'd show up.
Troy gets half-buried in a small landslide (36), which seems to really do a number on his lower half (42).
So, naturally, a couple of pages later, Troy tries and fails to climb the side of an abandoned mud-brick farmhouse (46), "hit[ting] the ground hard. It was a sickening fall for his body was already bruised from the punishment he had taken when the wadi bank caved in on him."
And then Tully immediately tries to do the same thing, only to fall and crash into Troy when a German starts to shoot at them (47).
"'Okay,' the Englishman said. The American slang sounded strange spoken in his clipped British accent" (52) ???
Dietrich: "'And they are good soldiers. The very best.'" (ok, this tracks) "'So good, in fact, that I'll never rest until I see them buried!'" (...who is this guy?) (56)
Dietrich and this other German captain keep calling each other by their first names. I don't think this author knows a whole lot about the military.
A German soldier aims his gun at Hitch. Hitch tries to run...and slips in the mud and falls flat on his face (60). ...And then Tully immediately does the exact same thing (61).
Lucky, Troy is there to throw his knife at the guy, and Tully tackles him only to receive a gun butt straight to the head (61). Concussion count: 2
Troy's now calling Hitch "Mark," and I continue to be uncomfortable (63).
So d'you think these authors they hired to write these tie-in novels had any access to the episodes? Or at least the scripts? Like, how much extra effort is it really to run off extra copies of a bunch of the scripts for the guy? Or set him up in a projection room with the already-aired episodes? Or even just give him a basic cheat-sheet of who each character is and what they all call each other?
"The Kentuckian was the worrying type when nothing was happening, but once things started to move and he foresaw action, his spirits bubbled" (145).
The word Hauptmann isn't used once throughout the entire book. However, "Kapitan" is used four times (?, 153, 154)
"Moffitt noted that Dietrich did not return the 'Heil, Hitler!' of McCuster's. This did not surprise him. Most of the Wehrmacht officers in North Africa detested the Nazi madman. They felt he was destroying them by sending matériel to the Russian front that was urgently needed to stop the Allied push in North Africa." Fascinating.
Troy: "I sure miss our jeeps. I know now why the old-time cowboy loved his horse" (159)
Some friendly fire: "A steel slug came so close it drew blood from Sam Troy's ear. Another knocked part of the heel off Moffitt's shoe" (162).
Tully sees Troy about to get it from a trio of Germans. He's too far away to shoot them, so, "Instead, he cupped his hands around his mouth and screamed at the top of his voice" (167).
"A bullet struck the wheel axle near his head. It ricocheted off an an angle and cut across Tully's temple" (168). Concussion count: 3.
"Tully touched the cut on his temple. It hurt unmercifully. His head clanged like an off-beat bell, but he struggled to hide it. "'I've cut myself worse shaving,' he said (169). I love these internal thoughts that are the exact opposite of what comes out of their mouths.
"Dietrich scrambled up to come to his aid, but went down as Tully hit him from behind with a football tackle" (176). This is the second time that Tully has specifically "football tackled" someone.
We don't see what happens directly after this, but Dietrich winds up unconscious, so I'm counting it as concussion #4.
"'Hurry, Dummkopf!' Moffitt snarled in imitation of an impatient German officer." Ah, yes, my favorite trope: impersonating-a-German-officer-by-yelling-at-everybody-so-they're-too-nervous-to-question-who-you-are.
"The car hit the wall again with a numbing shock. For a moment Troy was dazed" (186). Might this be concussion #5? I'm leaning towards no, but I'm not entirely convinced.
"Troy darted forward and caught the driver of the first vehicle in line with a hard blow that knocked him unconscious" (207). It's not one of our boys, but that's certainly a concussion.
"'That is the good captain's major fault,' Troy said. 'He always thinks we will do only the sensible things. But we don't!' "'Sometimes it pays to be crazy!' Tully said with a grin" (209).
Final concussion count: 5--Tully: 2; Hitch: 1; Dietrich: 1; German soldier: 1
Final verdict: The story was fine, the characterizations were ok, the name thing was weird, and the whole thing was jam-packed with action. And 5 concussions is nothing to sneeze at. With a bit of cleaning up, it could have made a good two-parter. 3.5/5 stars.

TRIGGER WARNING
August Seed dated his girlfriend Blake, who he now only refers to as Parasite Eve, since they were practically preteens. When she turned eighteen, she found out that she was pregnant. So, he did the only thing he knew. He put a ring on her finger and swore to protect the family above all costs. At the time, nobody knew just how deep this promise ran. After a very long pregnancy, Elizabeth 'Liz' Angellica Riley-Seed was born, taking her mother's middle name was well as the first names from her grandmother and aunt. The perfect embodiment of all of August's favorite three women. As if waiting to see him have a family of his own or perhaps waiting to gift their names to the little girl, Angie passed away and his grandmother soon followed her in death. August invited Parasite Eve to live with him inside New Eden, not yet known as the Garden.
The new Riley-Seed family had about nine beautiful years together. Playing in the gardens, teaching her how to paint and write and sing and dance. Elizabeth wanted to do anything creative she could get her hands on. She liked anything pretty, but also greatly valued the quiet of nature. August's favorite activity to do with his daughter was sit by the Henbane River and simply watch the water, clouds, and creatures drift along. If little Liz was not hooked to her father's hip, she would be hanging on her mother's back. It was an ongoing joke that the child would never have to walk because everyone carried her. She was the Queen of the castle, after all. Everyone's favorite.
It was Elizabeth Jr's ninth birthday. Only the closest to the family were invited, including the Seed siblings, Auggie's band, and one or two of Parasite Eve's closest friends. They were deciding to celebrate in Australia so that August could show Elizabeth and his wife the city of Victoria, Hamilton where he was born and raised. Trying his best to replace the bad memories he formed in his childhood with good memories from Elizabeth's childhood. Hamilton is a city in south-western Victoria, Australia, at the intersection of the Glenelg Highway and the Henty Highway.
They lived out in the country but close to the highway, making it easy to go back and forth from the city. Everyone was busy setting up while Mom and Dad were inside prepping the perfect pink cake. Her favorite colors are pink and 'aminol' as the nine-year-old called it, just like her mother. August Seed stepped out of the front of the house with cake in hand and looked around. He was ready to sing, but the birthday girl was nowhere to be found. He noticed some of his guests beginning to get drunk, or so he assumed by the flask they kept passing around. He later found out that this was what John had brought since he wasn't crazy about celebrations or parties. Auggie went to ask where the birthday girl was but as soon as the first words came out, they were drowned out by a loud truck horn blaring. He dropped the cake and jumped over it, sand knocking up onto the pink frosting as he ran to the highway intersection.
He had not made it in time, despite being the first one to reach the asphalt. Nobody was watching her, and she had found her way into the road. Her tiny body was lifeless, her face unrecognizable because it was covered in blood. He screamed out in pure agonizing pain, holding her body to his chest and soaking the blue button-up. The truck driver stepped out to check on what he hit, calling out to say it was a raccoon or something. The driver stepped closer, horror crossing his features when he realized it was just a little girl, not a critter at all. The man looked down, putting his chin to his chest, and going to apologize. August stood, hiding their daughter against his chest before the mother of his child could see the damage done. August took out the knife in his pocket, still with pink frosting on it from the cake coverage and plunged it into the side of the driver's throat, thus causing the man to bleed out. This was August's first official murder. Abe and John hold the screeching mother back so she didn't see the child's face. Only her soaked brunette hair and cheetah print romper.
The parents went into the house with their deceased daughter and sent everyone home, locking themselves inside. August set his daughter's body down on the rug. The mother and father surrounded their baby girl for the last time, taking in everything that just happened. Mourning their nine-year-old when they should have been celebrating her birthday. In a moment of panic, August knew what he had to do. It was the same thing he did for Angie several years prior.
A doll he had made for Elizabeth for her birthday, a wet rag, and a shovel. He returned to slowly wipe the blood away from his daughter's delicate porcelain face. It took a good while, but he managed to get her cleaned up. He then picked her up again as he always had and held her against his chest, carrying her to the makeshift cemetary for New Eden. Many pets had been buried back there, but this was going to be slightly different. They jokingly called it the Pet Cemetary but the joke would perhaps now take on a seperate meaning.
August dug the grave, the mother hid the the truck driver's body and busied herself stashing his eighteen-wheeler, and everyone else was sent home. August placed his daughter into the grave and set the doll beside it. Removing his shirt, he smeared the blood from the rag used to clean her face across his chest, arms, hands, and abdomen. Then, he began to chant. [Damballa chant explanation in another blog found on my profile.]
After speaking a French-Haitian spell, he waited. And waited. And waited. The sun went down, the tiny body was covered in white lace, the gravesite was covered, and the doll was placed into Elizabeth's bed tucked in. A single window was opened than closed. The doors were all locked. The mirrors were covered by blankets. Every clock was stopped in the house. And a family mourned, but August waited. And waited. And waited. And after what seemed an eternity, the doll's eyes opened bright and blue. The doll's porcelain mouth struggled but eventually opened and the faintest voice escaped. "Daddy?"
  - - - - - Her spirit was now officially inside a little doll that August had made for her birthday. Just as Angie was stunted at a young age mentally, so too would Elizabeth forever be stuck at the age of nine. Something inside August broke. He wasn't as smiley or as talkative as he once was. He changed the name of the compound to New Eden's Garden and found himself fiercly protective of his family - not only his daughter, but the Seed siblings and the legacy they would leave. Many didn't question why he started carrying a doll everywhere after death. They knew what he was capable of and blamed the odd behavior on grief over his daughter. The doll looked like his Liz, so everyone thought he was just going through something. However, Elizabeth was not just a doll. They continued trying to live life normally. Going to the Henbane river and watching the water, clouds, and creatures drift by. Carrying her on the hip or giving her a piggy back ride. Letting her explore all things creative or pretty. Sewing little animal prints and pinks for her. She enjoyed walking the trails and looking at the sky, chasing butterflies. Pure innocence inside a small porcelain body.
On the anniversary of her birth and death date the next year, August has an IX on his bicep, quite large. In roman numerals it stands for the number 9 but to him it is a constant reminder. September 9th is when his daughter Elizabeth was born and nine years later on this same day is when she died. So, nine is a very important number in August’s life.
In order to 'meet' any of the spirits living and breathing inside these dolls such as Angie or Liz, you would have to be unbelievably close to August as he does not introduce many to them. Not only is he overprotective, but he worries people will think he has lost his mind with grief. Or even worse, they may think they are just dolls.

Leclerc rebounds from early setbacks to overtake Sainz ahead of summer break | 2023 F1 team mate battles
Carlos Sainz Jnr defied expectations by out-scoring Charles Leclerc in their first season as team mates two years ago. However he was unable to repeat the feat last year as he failed to click with the team’s new car until mid-season. The 2023 championship began more promisingly for Sainz, though not for his team mate or, indeed, their team. Leclerc parked up with a power unit failure at the season-opener, a penalty for which compromised his next race in Jeddah, then was eliminated in a first-corner tangle in Melbourne. Sainz capitalised with fourth and sixth places in the first two races, out-scoring Leclerc each time. He should have increased his margin in Australia, but sent Fernando Alonso spinning at the standing restart and copped a five-second time penalty. As the race ended behind the Safety Car, that dropped him from fourth to a point-less 12th. After the penalty was announced Sainz pleaded at length with his team on his radio to campaign for it to be overturned. They tried, but it proved futile. Had Sainz not lost those points, Leclerc would not have re-passed him for fifth in the standings going into the summer break. Leclerc’s points lead is a fair reflection of his often superior performances, though he’s had a few duff weekends too. The SF-23’s knife-edge handling has challenged both drivers, Leclerc crashing twice during the Miami Grand Prix weekend. Leclerc has scored well on sprint race weekends Damp and intermediate conditions were a particular problem for Leclerc early in the season. Seeing him drop out of the first round in qualifying on a drying track at Circuit de Catalunya was a real shock. Leclerc was so spooked by his car’s behaviour he was convinced something was broken. But no fault was discovered. Instead Leclerc set about modifying his driving style and that seems to have paid off. He was in fair better shape in the demanding conditions drivers faced at Spa-Francorchamps before the summer break. That, his peak finish of second in Austria and his brilliant weekend in Baku – notably all sprint race events – were much more like the standard we have come to expect from Leclerc. That is a level which Sainz hasn’t regularly approached at his best, and if Leclerc is able to continue producing such performances in the season half of the season, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the gap between the Ferrari drivers widen further. kitchen knife setMaster Your Culinary Skills with the Perfect Kitchen Knife Set
Do you manage a restaurant and need a kitchen knife set that can delicately chop meat, fish, etc.? The ideal instrument for a variety of cutting jobs, from finely slicing vegetables to cutting meat into bite-sized pieces, is the chef knife, also known as the Gyuto knife. Since this knife became popular with the Japanese name Gyuto hence it is marketed all over the world by that name. Due to the better-curved edge profile of the knife, Gyuto is superior to Santoku for multifunctional applications.
Tumblr media
Santoku knife in Australia is regarded as being highly effective and can slice through meat or fish in a single motion. The knife works well for slicing, dicing, and mincing. Many people absolutely like the Nakiri knife for home tasks since it has a straight, symmetrical edge that helps chop vegetables. The knife is used for a number of cutting operations, including dicing, cutting, and chopping. These knives have been popular throughout time due to their effectiveness and user-friendliness. One can pick between single-edge and double-edge Nakiri knives depending on their needs.
A Brief Overview of Some of the Most Popular Knives
Sashimi Knives: These knives are mostly used to prepare raw fish since they have longer blades. The taste of shellfish or fish improves with better and cleaner cutting. The top shops provide knives manufactured of high-quality steel, so one may anticipate them to provide the greatest cutting performance for a long time.
Petty & Paring Knives: Petty and paring knives perform best when used for peeling and decorating. Smaller blades are appropriate for these tasks. These knives' blades, which range in length from 150mm to 80mm, are well suited for use in cake decorating.
Vegetable Slicer: Well, this is quite important along with knives for slicing vegetables in the kitchen. With a vegetable slicer one can easily slice vegetables and thus makes preparing food in kitchen easy.
Leading stores provide a variety of knives, each of which is tailored for a certain function. Make an appointment to visit the knife collection by top retailers getting in contact with them or buy from their online collection.

Westinghouse Fridge Spare Parts | Geelong Appliance Spares
Westinghouse is a household name and they are responsible for some of the greatest innovations in domestic appliances. From the first room air conditioners in the 1930’s to the automatic defrost refrigerators of the 1950’s. This is a great company with many successes under their belt, and they continue to produce high quality fridges and freezers that help Australian’s get the job done.
A common problem that occurs with Westinghouse fridges is the bottom freezer not getting cold. This can often be caused by a faulty evaporator fan that isn’t moving the refrigerant around the system. The best thing to do is to contact your local appliance repairer to have this checked out and replaced if needed. This will usually solve the problem and save you the cost of a new appliance.
Another issue that can arise is the fresh food drawer becoming hard to open or close. The problem could be that the fresh food drawer slide rail is damaged or worn out. This is a simple repair that can be completed with a screwdriver. If you’re having problems with this part then you should replace it to prevent further damage to your fresh food drawer.
The crisper cover front support keeps the crisper shelf in place and mounts to the inside of your cabinet wall. This is a white plastic part that can start to wear out over time. Replacing this can help with opening and closing the crisper door, but you’ll need to remove your crisper and shelf before you begin. This is a simple DIY repair that can be done with a small flat blade screwdriver, a putty knife and a soft hammer.
A fridge that is constantly running or not cooling could be due to a faulty defrost timer. The 120 V defrost timer is a genuine OEM part that acts like a clock and cycles through a cooling and defrost setting to maintain the desired temperature in your fridge. It’s important to note that this is a highly sensitive part, and it can easily be affected by external factors like vibration or electromagnetic interference.
Other common fridge repairs include replacing the water filter, the ice maker dripping or not making ice and the ice tray not sealing properly. These are all fairly easy to fix and shouldn’t take you more than an hour to complete. It’s also important to disconnect the power to your fridge before beginning any repairs. You should also have a multimeter on hand to check for any voltage issues that might arise during the process. You should also be sure to remove the fridge from its hinges before starting the repairs. This will make the job easier and reduce the risk of injury or electrical shock. If you need any help repairing your Westinghouse fridge then please don’t hesitate to give us a call! Our fully secure online store is one of the largest in Australia, and we can dispatch all of your fridge spare parts directly to you.

Sheryl Goodspeed. (Final Space)
Sheryl is not shippable with most of the canon crew because of several factors. Mostly because of Gary's relationship to them and her, she's kind of the team murder, hot grandma mum that drives the minivan, it'd be kinda odd unless it was like an entirely different universe, no one knew each other, adults etc, but that's not the case and something I'm not interested in. As she would not be with Clarence for example, one of the few she could get together with, but wouldn't. You are free to pursue her outside of that though along with platonic things. And I am fine of course in separate verses of say shipping her with someone and then Ash, Fox, Clarence, Tribore with the same character, but not the same verse.
2. This character is Australian, I've know Australians and been in a friend group of over six years with mostly aussies in vc. Then one of my best friends of twelve years whom I speak frequently to has been helping me is Australian, but I've been mostly guessing things right and with their permission have copied their way of talking to Sheryl. I can assure you that while I might make mistakes with saying like biscuits instead of scones, I do try to use my slang and lingo correctly, along with refraining from what most aren't aware that's regional, or the fact I think it's correct in the assumption that 'sheila' is considered an outdated, but acceptable term for women since language always evolves etc. I'll do my best to not butcher her rep, but she may sound more typical to a certain region like my friend is, as I get there are differences, slang that varies everywhere in Australia. Then there will be jokes here and there, but nothing dehumanizing as I'm fine with soviet russia jokes while being slavic for example, so I kinda get it y'know and my friends and the people of Australia seem to have the same mindset, though I respect anyone that's from there to maybe have a problem with it? I doubt it. So also tag 's now this is a knife' if the term cunt or cunty bothers you as I won't overuse it though maybe make a few starters for it. Because hey, I wanna give actual good rep or at least try and Sheryl would def say it, just tell me beforehand if you don't wanna hear it.
3. I suggest reading my ->Final Space Disclaimer<- (Placeholder)
4. A lot of time passes between S2 Sheryl and S3 Sheryl of her and Gary becoming closer together, but more or less takes the same course.
5. I highly suggest reading her fanon backstory and her part in the ending, characterization drabble at the bottom. But I wouldn't consider it required to be compared to say Ash, Fox or maybe Clarence.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Continuation verse cybernetic arm reference.
Do I want them to die: Nah, mostly because of Gary for main timeline Sheryl, otherwise I probably would've killed her for her ending if she had remained unrepentant and Gary hated her. Bad timeline Sheryl is fine to die though. Will I have/get icons: I have around 220ish. Tag: priorities lost (Pre-Fanon Ending Verse), I am fine with her growing close to people outside of Gary before she does to him, but I will flavor she's made peace with Gary at this point if people wanna do silly stuff say with like my Ash or Fox and Sheryl with say a Gary etc for mostly wholesome fun | priorities found post fanon ending of Sheryl, her power set is the same but it's after the death of Invictus and more or less links with say my Fox, Ash, Clarence and Tribore's continuation, though as always: they don't have to be the focus. | 's this is a knife' as this character does say the word cunt or cunty. Blacklist that tag if it bothers you. | venture found is an au where Sheryl has a similar powerset still and is basically on levels of Brock Samson/the Archetype for the AU? This AU is mostly just for fun, stupid hero, villain stuff with a similar premise of Venture Bros but doesn't have to be that universe. Mostly just the idea. Age: 67 (She's stopped aging from her cybernetics and space Australian DNA) Sex: AMAB Gender: She's trans female no-op (It's the future, I don't have to explain jack). Is fine with she/him, being called mum or dad, both, variants of. Just not a combo like 'dom' or 'dommy'. Why both though? Eh, I thought it'd be cute if she could be both to Gary since he deserves both. That and other characters I have mayhaps depending on what they have with Gary. Race: Space Australian. Sexuality: A hole's a goal. (I joke, she just seduces people I guess) Personality traits: Gruff, not much of a talker unless it's a story or maybe someone she likes. Even then it's more than just a few words but still not much of a talker. Likes one-liners, sometimes cheesy ones. Bit of a flirt with some. Extremely loyal to a fault if you earn it. Manipulative. Opportunistic. Violent. Sadistic. Calm along with her anger most of the time, even in a fight to the death. Can experience surprise, but rarely is she ever afraid. Doesn't understand her own emotions that well. At times can enter denial, albeit not an obvious state. A bit of a loner. Doesn't like to stay in one place for long, a bit of a wanderer. Likes her hobbies when healthyish again, which include: likes fishing. Likes hiking. Likes hunting. Collects guns and weapons, especially 'knifes'. Likes camping. Survival cooking, Grilling, Bbqing. Likes old tech and ships and can be a bit of a secret nerd about it with knowledge alone, plays video games with Gary when made amends with him or other people she likes well enough. Tends to like action games or racing games. Likes a few pints here and there, can drink the pain away or just goes on dangerous missions if spiraling. Doesn't talk about her pain a lot, tends to endure things alone unless prompted. Can be worried or thoughtful to other people such as Ash canonically when it comes to well-being. She likes Space Maccas a lot. Mental traits: Has a form of ASPD and possibly depression. Thinks like a human, but has a very robotic way to analyze things due to her neural implants. Physical traits: A lot of scars on her body ranging from cuts, burns, bullet shots. Hands feel like leather, she can pick up sharp objects or fires without being effected much, granted it becomes only one of her hands in her post verse, it doesn't matter for the other so long as it's not like actual lava y'know. She's about the same height as Gary and Avocato which Avocato is said to be 6'5. She's pretty dense like him too considering her limbs might actually be thicker than his from what we've seen? So yeah, she's rather built too, albeit one for actual power so while she has definition, it's not that weird dehydrated body-builder look. Powers:
Lock picking - she can pick locks to even an eldritch horror's shackles. Why can she do this? I guess I explain it is that she uses specialized lockpick implants, or has lockpicks on her just in case.
Hacking - she's a stealth assassin and a spy in the endgame of her career. Kind of required.
Bombs - also kind of required but she's able to defuse bombs, plant them, subtly hide them, etc.
Pilot - is considered one of the best pilots in the universe in canon.
Ship engineer - well, she does know a lot about ships.
The world down undah - in the far off world down undah of far space? Is the near mystical world of Space Australia, where giant creatures roam, the inhabitants immigrants from Earth centuries ago when a great calamity happened in the region of Australia, they simply picked up Australia with their ships and left. This new environment they lived in gave them almost a super power in itself from overtime exposure, making them a formidable force in the universe... as few often wish to invade Space Australia, as even the areas in Space around it are inhabited by giant creatures, yet the people of Space Australia there flourish all too well.
Cybernetics - the cybernetics vary, but range from neural interfaces from targeting systems, reflexes, durability. Then for her post verse? Using one of her purple plasma knives deploys from her palm for the robotic right arm and some of her weapons listed below or tossed out of like a grenade. Has a slight healing factor, but couldn't regenerate her arm for instance.
Weapon Use - plasma guns ranging from overshoulder blasters, plasma blades, plasma pistols, machine guns. Grenades, sticky bombs and a few non-lethal things like tranq-darts All preferably silenced but interweave into her fighting style. She could certainly deflect bullets and plasma shots for a few, but not quite say a gatling gun or a machine gun. But maybe single to semi-auto.
Stealth Assassin - knows how to move undetected and tends to be her preferred method if going in guns a blazing is a stupid idea, even for a thrill.
Gadgets - things like grappling hooks, her jet boots, comms communicators, her fake back molar jacks to use for hacking, etc.
Planner - if she feels it's needed, otherwise she might just go in guns blazing. Can create month-long intricate plans, however
Knows the universe rather well and where to go - mostly from her experiences and contacts. Though she isn't the most connected other than to weapon producers and where to get illegal shit, her gear, then things like Space Maccas or other things from Earth.
Is able to track - She tracked down Todd pretty single-handedly, granted, acted a bit rash as she was trying to take him alive at first to torture for information. Though they ended up working together.
Motivations: To see tomorrow. To be with her family. To find thrills in her interests or excitement in life. Pursuing hobbies. To survive no matter the cost. Backstory:
To sum it up: her background is with her family, previously known as Sheryl Anderson, as a young hitman starting at the age of 15 in an Australian Mafia in Space Australia when her dad made her an ultimatum before she later becomes Agent Y, then eventually Prisoner Y when she was captured decades after murdering her old boss, though the organization is much bigger than that is why they're still after her. The only reason she wasn't executed right away was to have a prisoner transfer so they could execute her in public etc, but then freed herself when reuniting with Gary. Then her fanon ending is her going with Gary when killing Invictus to provide a way out for him after the deed is done and her own conclusion as a character with added characterization and her perspective with Gary.
You can read it below for her full backstory and conclusion, which I recommend! But I don't think is AS required say as my Ash and Fox reworks.

The Most Influential People in the miniatur kereta api Industry
Once you've received a educate layout arrange with a flat table, you might like to ensure it is a lot more interesting by adding some mountains and hills. There are a handful of approaches To do that, and they're both equally simple.™
Papier-Mâché Approach
In the event your layout is short term, or you don't want to spend A great deal revenue, You may use the papier-mâché system. Fundamentally, you only scrunch up some newspapers into the overall shape of the hill or mountain, then protect them with sheets of newspaper dipped in papier-mâché paste.
The normal way of earning papier-mâché paste is so as to add a person part drinking water to at least one section flour. A lot of people choose to boil the paste, indicating that it makes the regularity smoother. H2o to flour ratio is adjusted to five elements water to at least one section flour In such cases. Others use A 3 to one or a one to at least one ratio of water and polyvinyl acetate Wooden glue. Even now Many others declare that starch tends to make a high-quality paste. Introducing a sprint of cinnamon to the mixture provides the paste a pleasing scent; incorporating a dash of salt and sugar lowers the probability of the products acquiring mould.
You merely dip sheets of newspaper (fold them a handful of times to make them thicker) in the paste and drape them above the scrunched up newspapers. The sheets is going to be soft and pliable, so mould them into hills and valleys as you want. Enable the papier-mâché dry right away. You can find that it's tough and rigid, similar to a piñata.
Paint it which has a water-centered paint in shades of green (for grass) and brown (for Dust) and grey (for rock). You may as well use spray paint, but be certain it really is matte, not glossy, paint. Though the paint is still damp, sprinkle some grass (accessible in the pastime shop) or green-coloured sawdust. When the paint is dry, increase some lichen for bushes and trees (also accessible at any interest shop).
Window Screening and Picket Supports
When your educate format is permanent, a far more tough way of producing mountains and hills is to use screening and wood supports. This also has the edge that you can operate tracks over the mountain itself, giving you make the appropriate supports. Mainly, you narrow picket support blocks to the appropriate sizing, then drape window screening (termed "fly display screen" in Australia) in excess of the blocks, stapling the display screen on the blocks. It is best to fasten the blocks mencarimainan on the desk with screws or nails initial, so they do not move all around.
If you want, it is possible to produce a next track mattress all around or through the mountain, elevated above the desk. Simply use guidance blocks and plywood to create a rigid base to the keep track of.
After the screening is set up, pinch it in areas for making rugged edges, ditches, and valleys. Then mix up some prevalent house plaster (obtainable at any hardware retail outlet to repair holes in the plaster wall) and slobber it in excess of the screen. There isn't any have to be watchful, just ensure many of the screen is covered. A thicker plaster blend will work far better than a thin mix, given that the latter permits the display screen to point out by means of.
Once you get towards the rugged vertical bits, use horizontal strokes of the knife to simulate rock cuts. Let the plaster dry overnight after which paint as described over.
Ultimately, finish it off with lichen bushes and trees as suitable.
Do not forget Accessibility
If you are selecting how huge to make your mountain, and exactly where to position it, also consider derailments. Murphy's Regulation guarantees that, at some time, your practice will probably derail within the tunnel through your mountain. Ensure the tunnel entrance is large more than enough so that you can arrive at in and Obtain your teach out.
Or take into account these choices: If you have made a papier-mâché mountain, instead of glued it into the table, you are able to basically lift it off the table.
For those who have designed a long lasting Wooden block and wire monitor mountain, then consider slicing entry holes while in the table, down below the mountain, to help you achieve in and right the teach or take out it. Don't make the holes way too near the monitor, mainly because if the coach does derail at that place, you don't want it to fall with the gap on to the ground.
You will discover more than a few those who love bikes, and certainly, these people today have a tendency to form clubs, celebrating their admiration for your machines and appreciate to the thrill on the ride. So How come they offer these bikes into full motorcycle kits like some geek or nerd's toy? Perfectly, You need to acknowledge that there's a visceral attraction, a deep-down emotion of wishing to Construct a thing from the bottom up. "From box to blacktop" in all probability would make extra feeling because it is actually a car to become manufactured. Of course, setting up from whole scratch will not be achievable for most of us, considering that motorcycles are precision items. Visualize having to soften metals, make casts, and Construct a motorcycle engine all on your own. No, these kits acquire the hardest pieces out in the offer, and depart you with a thing that is hard but not as well tough, but will nevertheless offer you a sense of satisfaction any time you finish. This might not attract Every person, but there are those who come to feel ideal using something they constructed with their own fingers. Maybe just a little qualifications on The entire point would enable to clarify why packing the motorbike in parts would make a particular sense.
Complete Motorcycle Kits - Fade In
Tumblr media
Full motorbike kits are a results of numerous technological advancements and innovations, as well as a couple historic milestones. The necessity for affordable, individual transportation led for the invention in the bicycle. It had been peaceful, expected no electrical power other than just what the rider would supply, and cost much under an auto. They just did not go incredibly quick, and people bought weary of having to push their own pedals. Future, a person considered attaching an engine to your drive practice. Inevitably, these motorized bicycles created into bikes. At that time though, the automobiles had been nevertheless constructed in factories and offered as-is. The nice revolution of mass production led to your generation of pieces on parallel lines. Before long, someone believed that transporting these sections in boxes with the proper amount of elements for full vehicles made feeling. Disassembled bikes packed into kits consumed significantly less Place than the whole vehicles, to make sure that intended the companies could help you save on transportation and storage. They then transported the kits to dealers who would construct the vehicles on-website. The next phase most likely arrived when somebody questioned if they could get a motorcycle, but Construct it by themselves, while in the spirit of do it by yourself. It absolutely was bound to occur quicker or afterwards, and so bikes in disassembled kit form grew to become readily available. So now you know kind of what led up to these wonderful rides in deals.
Comprehensive Bike Kits - Nuts and Bolts
Not everyone has the ability to construct bikes by themselves, so In combination with all the large and smaller items, manuals and instruction booklets come with these finish bike kits.
