Why are ppl scared to call it what it is and say we’re still going thru covid on top of seasonal illness. Like. That’s pretty important right. I was watching the news and they were like oh yeah we have an unprecedented number of flu cases “as well as other sicknesses” without actually saying Covid. No announcement abt vaccinations or masking or anything. Also if I hear someone joking abt “war flashbacks” for mentioning covid I fucking hate u

#source: most of my family members are nurses and it was so bad for one of them they had to be put on a ventilator. in the hospital they #worked at. looking back I think I had a reason to feel a little offput by the shows of support early pandemic #with people tying blue ribbons around trees and lighting signs blue to support healthcare workers #I get that it was supposed to be moral support when we couldn’t do anything but follow health advisories #and it did matter to make them feel uplifted and do something than nothing. im not gonna deny that #but. you can still help now. u know that right. you still have a responsibility here #u can still mask up. u can still get vaxxed and call in sick to avoid infecting others #don’t leave it on healthcare workers to pick up the pieces just because they were doing it before. do u think they had a choice?#nobody likes picking up the slack for someone else and now that we have more tools to do smth couldn’t we just. do it????#im not a virologist but i also feel like continuing to let it get worse by letting more mutations develop #could continue to set us back since this virus is pretty good at fucking us up long term and finding new ways to do that #while there are ppl still researching covid which is STILL A RELATIVELY NEW VIRUS. and studying possible treatment and cures #yapping #vent

Whether or not the adage that chronic stress is as bad as smoking is or true or not, hearing that and knowing that a huge stress factor is often one's continued financial, housing, and food security really should radicalize more people. The idea of stress being damaging to long and short-term health should make you stop and wonder what contributes to stress in the first place, and if preventative measures would inevitably be a net benefit to the overall health and wellbeing of everybody

#politics #mental health #obviously strss is an inevitable consequence of Being Alive #but chronic stress has chronic origin (unstable housing/lack of food/job insecurity or shortage/lack of healthcare/ect ad infinitum)#i just remember being told that (chronic/intense) stress is as bad as smoking and that sticks out to me #even if it's not true... doesn't that make you WANT to think deeper about that?#doesn't that make you want to consider what leads to such poor mental health that it destroys you from the inside out?#because to me it sticks out as something to radicalize you #and obviously smoking isn't magically ~Good~ because there are worse things out there/'just as bad' things #what i am trying to say is: if you take the concept of stress seriously then you need to interrogate WHY people are stressed #because it isn't just 'for no reason' or for 'small anxiety-inducing' things

1. the times both doxxed and created misinformation around finn and her previous donation to a private health insurance company focused on trans healthcare

2. while previously stating he would donate another 50k to the same organization he is no longer comfortable doing that because of information told to him by past clients and employees of the organization

3. there is no way to contact this organization for free even a 20 minute appointment costs 40 pounds, starting was so confusing finn was not able to get his healthcare through them, ai is handling communications (allegedly), and non medical professionals are over seeing blood test results (allegedly)

4. because of the reasons above finn is creating her own trans healthcare charity, and both for the safety of her family and legal reasons she can not give away more information but at the end of the video is asking doctors in both the uk and eu interested in working in trans healthcare to contact her so she can connect them to the right people

Panel one has a view into Kakashi's bedroom from just outside the open window. We look over the bed where Tenzō's Anbu mask is resting and past the flapping curtain, and see the spot where Kakashi and Tenzō are sitting. Tenzō, still crouched by the side of Kakashi's bed, is mostly hidden aside from the top of his head. Kakashi is sitting with a loose, tired posture, looking wryly out the open window. "And then you came to my apartment, " Kakashi says. "Maybe it felt safe and secluded enough to have your breakdown in. Which is flattering, but to be fair, my wards are usually immaculate."

The second panel, they are sitting, knees touching knees, facing each other. Kakashi's eyes are closed, like he's trying to force a smile, but not succeeding very well. He has one arm wrapped around himself. Tenzō is leaning forward towards Kakashi, eyebrows low over his eyes. "But I didn't plan—I didn't choose to do this, to feel this," Tenzō argues. "Who would?" Kakashi asks. He continues, "The only drawback of having trust, of having a place to be vulnerable, is that sometimes you'll have to be vulnerable in it, I guess. Hurts, huh?"

i don't believe in the fandom concept of problematic faves (all characters should have at least one Problem, i think, for flavor) but if i did, fiona pitch would have a permanent throne at the very top of my list. i just think she's neato-cheetos.

It’s kinda funny-not-funny when I tell the doctors my grandma had a stroke during my medical history and they’re all like “ah yes, good to know” but not really caring until I add “she was 26” and then their faces go “oh shit” and they start asking detailed questions about what caused it and shit 😅

#Long story short I have been warned away from hormonal medications #because fun fact: genetic predisposition + smoking + birth control caused a small stroke surge in the 70s #They’ve since made birth control lower dosage but I still avoid it #But it’s a good thing for most people! Man, as a trans guy and abuse survivor, whenever I see people saying the likes of, "lmao, men shouldn't be allowed in anything deemed 'women's healthcare'!" It just reminds me that - especially in healthcare - my safety and comfort will never matter so long as it continues to condradict people's preconceived notions of what constitutes people worthy of healthcare. It's just something I wish the well-meaning people who are rightfully frustrated with the state of healthcare would take a second to remember.

Yes, the healthcare system sucks and we must fix it. No, that doesn't mean we ought to leave behind people just because they challenge us on our own biases.

frustrating how fucking. disabling. being disabled is rn. im tired

#migraine buddy helpfully showed me my midas score which puts me in severely disabled bc of my migraines based on their impact #which on one hand was helpful in a sense of like. hey dude. these things fuck you up and have a huge impact and jts a thing #most peiple dont have to deal with. but also was like. god yeah i sure am and also i sure am still working full time and having to just.#work thru them and cope bc i certainly cant afford to have less money #its so fuckin i furiating being disabled in the us. i cant stop working bc then ill loose my healthcare which still costs me so much money #scream. tired.#my PA for nurtec was denied bc my ins wants me to try a diff one first #which is stupid bc like one why do u get to override my dr for your budget.#why does my healthcare need to suffer because youre cheap. you arent living with this shit.#and also the alternatives they suggested are injection based which. is scary for me as someone who used to have a terrible needle phobia #jax is able to help me w them which is good bc i know i cant give myself them (maybe could do the auto injectors but idk)#but its still so. why are u like thia. also it took u so long to deny my PA and im on no preventatives rn waiting for Something #to be approved. ugh. scream.
