next post I see about 'dividing the lgbt community' gets you stuffed in a locker. it's not slick! Because as we all know, disposing of trans women doesn't count as "dividing the community", does it? Why is the community something totally separate from me; but something that I always have to appease?
The purpose of a community is to support each other - this is not support! Stop throwing trans women away like bags of trash - and let them complain about what they're going through or get out of my fucking life

that’s exciting to hear. Did you have a favorite plot point in the fallout show
There is an entire scene where they use the term "fiduciary responsibility to investors" when outlining that, because Vault-Tec is a privatized company selling nuclear war survival infrastructure as a product, it has financial incentive to do everything it can to increase the risk of nuclear war. No more resource crisis, no more war, no more vaults, no more line goes up.

We need to lay more blame for "Kids don't know how computers work" at the feet of the people responsible: Google.
Google set out about a decade ago to push their (relatively unpopular) chromebooks by supplying them below-cost to schools for students, explicitly marketing them as being easy to restrict to certain activities, and in the offing, kids have now grown up in walled gardens, on glorified tablets that are designed to monetize and restrict every movement to maximize profit for one of the biggest companies in the world.
Tech literacy didn't mysteriously vanish, it was fucking murdered for profit.

I regret to inform you that Discord's new Terms of Service includes an arbitration clause. You can find it here https://discord.com/terms/#16. This clause includes an opt-out, which I have transcribed here:
You can decline this agreement to arbitrate by emailing an opt-out notice to [email protected] within 30 days of April 15, 2024 or when you first register your Discord account, whichever is later; otherwise, you shall be bound to arbitrate disputes in accordance with the terms of these paragraphs. If you opt out of these arbitration provisions, Discord also will not be bound by them.
These clauses are underhanded ways that corporations seek to deprive you of your right to participate in class-action lawsuits and your right to a jury trial. (This does only apply to us users ,other people still spread the word though )

UNTITLED CHEERLEADER STORY
Max has just moved from New York to Southern California, and he’s about to befriend the peppy cheerleader next door, who really really wants him for the squad...
Taylor practically skips out of Max’s house. Goodness, she’s almost high! For some reason, when Max spoke, it felt like every word he said was the most important thing in the world. And he’s so cool! He’s from New York, he plays guitar, and on this morning’s evidence he’s also the best gymnast she’s ever met. He just might be the answer to all her prayers. And he has the prettiest brown eyes… It took some doing, but she managed to persuade him to come over tomorrow morning to spot her while she runs through her routines. He was nice enough not to say it, or even show it, but she knows he thinks cheerleading isn’t as challenging as what he’s used to; she’s going to show him how wrong he is. And she confirmed that he’s her age—eighteen, actually, so older, but only by like a month—and he’s going to Vista Primavera High for his final year, same as her. So all she has to do, once she’s shown him how awesome cheerleading can be, is ask him to join the squad. Ugh, and then talk the other girls into accepting another guy on the squad. That might be the tricky part; it’s not that guys on the squad are a problem, but all the guys they have are, well, shaped like Gordo. Max, who is barely an inch taller than her—she checked when they said goodbye—doesn’t fit in there. Whatever! She’ll work it out. She’ll make the squad see what he can do, and they’ll have to accept him. And then they might finally have a shot at regionals!
Untitled Cheerleader Story is inspired by Bring It On, by shipping the hell out of Torrance and Missy, and by vaguely remembering the year 2003.
The first three chapters can be read for free right here, and all ten chapters of the first book can be found here, on my Patreon, for just $5 :)

One of the most common pitfalls of amateur media analysis is assuming that story Y must be directly based on or influenced by story X because they're kind of similar if you squint just right. You really do need to be able to point to a specific series of influences getting you from X to Y in order to make that claim; leaving that part out is how we get Joseph Campbell, and nobody wants to be Joseph Campbell.

Care to explain why you have mutuals who like irredeemable media (Hazbin Hotel, Harry Potter, Attack on Titan, Captive Prince, etc.)? If they're not your mutuals, you're at the very least in the same circles as them. Maybe do some self reflection about what sorts of people you choose to associate with...
