I have. Too many emotions now but

Once and Always was good. It was a beautiful nostalgia piece, and a wonderful tribute. It really felt like watching the original series again as a kid glued to the TV, wondering how the rangers will prevail. I loved seeing everyone again, the main four were great and I never thought they got enough love back in the day so it was nice for them to have the spotlight. The music was so good to hear again, bless Ron Wasserman. The Megazord just looked amazing oh my god I could watch that forever. The tribute in the credits had me crying. It was beautiful. This was a softer anniversary special, not a huge explosive battle with every ranger there's ever been on screen, but a more personal one, focused on the people who started this and how they became family and just... it was wonderful. I am crying. It was beautiful.

okay realtalk? i much prefer live action garp. he's a better (and more interesting) character.

i was only exposed to animu garp, so take that how you will, but him showing up after a bajillion episodes post water 7, out of fucking nowhere, AFTER going through a bunch of worldgov bullshit getting robin back and all i wanted to do was fucking never see marines ever again... out comes this tie to luffy who's like 'welp guess i'm fighting you now, lol JK not really, gonna wreck this property, let's continue this fight in a few days when you get your new ship'.

it's-it's so fuckin annoying-anime-trope #658. he comes out of nowhere, contributes nothing, interrupts the flow, serves his singular meta purpose in the most clumsy slapped-on way possible, then leaves, no lasting impact, nothing.

I understand people having beef with this more antagonistic garp in the live action, but holy fucking shit is he ever a breath of fresh air. Here lies a goddamn CHARACTER with so many layers that are constantly showcased. Here lies a character with PURPOSE, with SO much purpose, who is written so beautifully into the narrative to fulfill so many needs. Live action garp sold me on his stupid horrible tough 'love' attitude (it's not boring trope bullshit, you can actually see the trauma behind it, the horrible reasoning), sold me on coby and helmeppo's story, sold me on actually giving more than zero shits about world-happenings away from the strawhats.

#then fuckin coby and helmeppo turned out goddamn wonderful #so i gave a shit there too #and got invested in their shenanigans #again unlike with the anime #and of course garp is just as silly and stubborn and unhinged as luffy #and continues the whole laughter theme carried throughout the series #laughter and the interpretation of that laughter #he's great #it's all great #wacky pirates #rambling #ramblings #thoughts #i really heckin love it taking MULTIPLE people all throughout the series to be like 'garp ya gotta let go holy shit'#from coby to goddamn ZEFF and on and on #always appreciate more zeff i'm not gonna lie #that lil old man date was narratively beautiful

Against my better judgement I’ve acquired two new books from Ollie’s: Coriolanus by William Shakespeare and Empire Games by Charles Stross (which I didn’t know was a series when I got it lol whoopsie… I usually don’t read series; but this is classic-style dystopian sci-fi with time travel so it’s a little different).

#I’m a little over halfway through Time Jump by John Brunner and the consumer report parts get me every time 😂#He has normal short stories in there; interrupted by consumer reports on time machines and wishing machines #The whole thing is basically one extremely well-executed and beautifully written shitpost. Top-tier.#About every ten to twenty minutes I’m doubled over with laughter over something this guy wrote #I had no idea it was a comedy going into it but holy shit it’s wonderful #The longer you keep reading certain parts the funnier it gets because he has such a dry and pedantic voice #but he’s describing the most outrageous events in that dry and pedantic voice #I’ve had to put the book down on numerous occasions because I was laughing too hard to continue #I am not to be trusted at Ollie’s. I always forget about the giant book section and I get lost in there for 20–30 minutes #I found Beautiful Oops and Midnight at the Tuscany Hotel there #and also a calligraphy book and a bread book and a soup book when I was younger #I’ve been hoarding books since I was a little kid #I like carrying them around the house with me #I don’t even read them half the time; I just like to hold them and reading interferes with holding them #They have The Fox comics there but I don’t dare get those with either of my parents present #because they’re quite gory #I hate the stickers so much though. You can never get them completely off

first ever pride is completed and was SO much fun.

#tj talks #everybody was so kind oh my god #i sold most if not all of the earrings and a lot of the zipper pouches!!! i still have some left over #it was just so comforting and loving to have people come up and just 'you should be proud tehse are wonderful' :')#everybody was so SWEET #some girl gave me like three dollars extra and i told her and she went 'i know.' and smiled and walked away and i almost cried #why can't i do pride booths every single month????? pls #something about people fo the community liking my crafts is just. the greatest feeling ever #and since nearly everything is gone i have to make M O R E for the sixteenth now lmao #but im gonna do more mando and grogu themed things too #was very fun but also. exhausting #cause i was there from 8 am to 6 pm on my feet for most of it #doing long events like this is tiring cause its all day but also great because you make M O NE Y #the moment the parade ended the booth was SWARMED by people and it was so exciting but also like holy shit #everybody is so beautiful and kind i love our community i wanted to live in that day forever #but also i am. home and snuggled up now rest time ehehehe #i want to sell more stuff online but that means increasing prices because seller websites take percentages #which is why i can afford to have everything at low prices in person #which almost feels like i'm?? lying to people/???#im worried that when i post online people from events will be like 'well it was THIS much at the market so why is it more online'#but websites take an arm and a leg *cough cough etsy and depop* so there's no other option really
