im sorry im breaking my anti fast for this bc its literally the most idiotic thing i have ever seen.
"some people hate sjm for the racism in her books"
yeah NO SHIT.
that has always been the point.
thats literally the entire point of being anti sjm posts. thats literally all we talk about in the anti tags. but shortsightedness and an unhealthy relationship with these characters has always blinded y'all to that fact.
you see this is why i could not stomach conversations because you guys constantly make a mockery of the problems in sjm's work and only acknowledge the problems for a 'gotcha' moment. EVERY SINGLE TIME we have talked about how the racism in sjm's work affects the writing of her characters you guys have made it into an anti feysand problem, and by doing that you have willingly separated yourself from the problems in the story. the reality is that the racism affects the way these characters are written -- including your favs. do not dare twist the main message of antis to fit some twisted little point you want to make toward specific blogs. i have been on my last account for over two years and EVERY TIME i -- or any anti -- has talked about the way sjm's racism bleeds onto the text we have been undermine, ran off our blogs, sent hate mail. so yeah it pisses me off to no end to be sent the dumbest post in the anti tags to ever exist. yall do not care about her racism, her misogynoir. if you did, you wouldn't be calling people brain dead for daring to dislike your favorite ship for valid reason -- i.e. the racism. we talked about the complexities of how racist the portrayal of the illyrians were -- and we were dismissed as anti feysand and therefore 'braindead.' we talked about the way women of color and the allusions of FGM (female genital mutilation)-- and we were called anti feysands and then dismissed. stay out of the anti tags -- especially if you are the ones perpetuating these dynamics. i was ran off my blog for discussing these issues for two years. y'all sent hate mail, called me tamlin stan -- called others tamlin stans -- for even daring to discuss the racism in sjm works. that's not even touching the nehemia situation, or crescent city. fuck off the tags. you literally have a blog dedicated to this woman and her racist ass characters, you shoot down any criticism of them because of it, and then yall have the nerve to come into the tags for the some hehe hahah tamlin stan bs??? double fuck off. the anti sjm tag has always been a place for that criticism. always.
addition: and these problems are not just valid when discussing characters you don't like. the illyrians are written to brutes, with the bat boys operating as the 'model minority'. the story justifies the lack of infrastructure, and the misogyny (misogynoir depending on how you classify illyrian women), the lack of progress.
'its a culture problem'
'rhysand has tried, but they wont listen'
like do you know how crazy it is to write a group of people as permanently mentally stunted? to classify their women as nameless entities that our main character can shift in and out of to satisfy her supposed 'man of color' sexually? feyre cosplays as a woman of color for SEX, meanwhile in FIVE BOOKS we've met one named illyrian woman and shes described 'interesting,' but not as pretty as opposed to nesta and gwyn, mor, and feyre who are the prettiest people to walk the earth. that don't sound CRAZY to yall??? these people of color are left without leadership, without infrastructure, no access to a golden city, no access to their high lord, are forced to breed out warriors who live and die without ever getting to enjoy the city of velaris, the house of wind for survivors. all of that so that the maincharacters can live out that power fantasy. its racist. thats what it is. please think consider reading comprehension b4 yall make these gotcha posts because it really stinks of weirdness.
the illyrians are treated like rabid animals by their leaders, by everyone and then the responsibility is on them to somehow progress when everyone is unwilling to give them nothing more than scraps. like there's a real life counterpart to this, and yall arguments are very real and very damaging.
they are written by the author to be a permanent second class deserving of their position because they're minds somehow cannot comprehend any 'progression.' all of these characters including rhysand, feyre, mor, az, cassian, tamlin, nesta say racist things toward them because THE NARRATIVE thinks they're justified in saying them. like the moralizing is wild in this case bc all of them are allowed to get away with it. its not just tamlin or nesta, not just the valkyries (which is an ENTIRELY different scenario btw). like the idea that all of the bad can be ascribed to the 'bad' characters and the 'good' characters somehow don't feed into those racist tropes is WILD. rhysand literally told us -- the reader -- the in the war against slaves and their oppressors somehow it was an equal battle. like?????? somehow 'both sides were at fault' ignoring that one side WAS LITERALLY SLAVES. like can u imagine if someone looked at the Haitian revolution and was like....yeah the side of the oppressors was somehow on equal footing when the other side WAS ENSLAVED? how can u acknowledge this author is racist and then pretend that the racism only bleeds over to the characters you *shockingly* don't like?? yes -- there is a problem with feyre wearing illyrian wings BECAUSE SHES THE HIGH LADY. she made herself that title. of course that carries a different weight. the racism is ingrained in the text, not just some little trinket to flash when you want to moralize bullying a small group of people with strawman arguments.

feysand x reader: the afterglow
set after getting together but you don't necessarily have to read that to understand this one!
under the cut bc its over 1K!
tw: a bit of anxiety
-After you guys officially mated, you knew the world was gonna take it weirdly.
-There’s never been a triad bond that would be so well known.
-To be honest, you were mostly nervous about how the inner circle would react.
-You knew they loved the three of you dearly. But you also weren’t stupid and knew this was unconventional. You also knew you were freaking over nothing but alas, you were still anxious about it.
-In the middle of the frenzy, Rhysand sent a message saying that you had accepted the triad bond and you three would be gone for a bit.
-When you guys came back, it was a party. Mor had hung up a banner that said “congratulations!” There was a buffet table full of foods that Elain had clearly worked so hard over.
-Cassian was…collecting coins from everyone?
“I bet that you’d be the first to make the first move.” He explained.
Technically, he wasn’t wrong. It was you yelling at them that made the first move.
“Did everyone know before we did?” you asked as he collected a few coins from Azriel.
“Well, Rhysie isn’t subtle. Feyre was oblivious to your struggle just like she was to Rhysie-“
“Hey!” Feyre pouted. “You aren’t wrong, but hey!”
You kissed her cheek. “And you!” Cassian pointed to you. “Are affectionate with everybody! Do you know how hard it was to convince Feyre and Rhysand that you actually liked them like that!”
“I’m so sorry my reluctance to fuck our friends made your life harder.” You said dryly.
He scoffed, “better be!”
“Quit yelling at my wives, Cassian.” Rhysand said darkly, the alpha-asshole coming out.
“Here we go.” Feyre muttered.
“Made it two minutes this time.” Mor added.
“Instead of two seconds.” Amren finished.
Cassian gave you a smile that you had you wincing, because you knew what was coming. “Hey Y/N, want a ri-“ He didn’t get to finish because of the punch to his stomach from Rhys.
“Welcome to the family.” Mor nudged you. “Even though you were already in.”
“I’m just relieved I don't have to see Y/N pining anymore.” Nesta said from the doorframe. “Over twenty years of that bullshit.”
You should’ve hit her harder when you were kids.
Azriel, Lucien and Elain, like the sweethearts they were, just smiled without a sarcastic comment.
-Your next worry was Nyx. How would you fit into his life? Would you be a stepmom or another mom?
-You easily loved him more than anything, that was even before being mated to his parents. Now? Somehow you loved him more.
-You were holding him one day when Rhysand sat down next to you on the porch swing. You were just enjoying the breeze with your-well it felt wrong to call him your son but you were his parents' wife?
“How are two of my favorite living beings?” Rhysand said kissing you.
“Good but what kind of greeting is that?” You chuckled.
“I know he’s a person, but it’s weird to call him that. He’ll always be my baby.” He cooed and brushed back Nyx’s tuft of hair.
Rhysand sat next to you, putting his arm around your shoulders and pulling you into his side. You leaned as much as you felt comfortable with Nyx in your arms. You didn’t like not being on your guard when you were holding him. He was precious.
Rhysand kissed your temple, you felt peace. You were just missing one vital part. Feyre usually came home from the studio around this time. Rhysand and you had accidentally made it a tradition to sit out on the porch and wait for her.
“Do you want kids?” Rhysand asked. “You don't have to answer now.”
“I mean, I kinda have one now. Kind of late to say no.” You giggled and gestured to Nyx. “He may not be biologically mine. And I can be a stepmom or stay Auntie. Whatever’s the most comfortable with you and Fey. I don't want to overstep.”
“Would….would you be one of his moms?” Rhys asked, you could tell he was incredibly nervous.
“I would be honored.” You whispered, your gaze never leaving the baby's sleeping face.
You missed the look of utter adoration that Rhys shot your way.
Pretty soon, Feyre joined you guys on the porch coming home in paint splattered overalls and a paint stained face. She was glowing, you could tell how happy that studio made her. It made you incredibly happy.
She leaned down to kiss Nyx, then you, then Rhys who pouted about being last. But he was okay with it, he loved your family so incredibly much. It kind of scared him what he’d do to protect it.
Later that night, Feyre came up behind you in the mirror as you got ready for bed. She pressed her head against yours. Your cheeks lined up perfectly and were smushed together. Her arms were wrapped around your waist.
“You are his mother, if that’s what you want to be”. She whispered. “I may have birthed him, but I would be honored to share the mom spot with you.”
“Fey, I just did my skincare, you can’t make me cry like this.” You said, your voice wobbly. She squeezed you tighter in response, her nose scrunching with her closed mouth smile, her eyes half closed and lips scrunched slightly. She kissed your temple and went back to Rhys.
That was that. Rhysand was dad/daddy, Feyre was mom/mommy and you were mama.
-The next thing on your list was how the court would see it. The Inner Circle doesn’t give a shit (which was to be expected) but the Court of Nightmares? That’s where you were worried.
They didn’t take to Feyre that well, then Nyx. Now you.
Rhys called you out on your bullshit one night while all of you were getting ready for bed.
“What’s up with you? You’re more nervous going to the Court of Nightmares than you were before.”
“Well, we weren’t mated then.” You said back, you tried to avoid being snippy but your stress levels were high.
Clearly, he knew you were being snarky because he gave you a raised brow and held his hands up in surrender. You sighed. “Ugh, baby I’m sorry.” You said. You set down your hair brush and crawled into his arms.
His chest shook with restrained laughter. “Love, you’re allowed to be nervous-“ He was cut off by Feyre coming into the room.
“Ooh, are we snuggling?” Feyre said. And with the excitement of a five year old she catapulted into bed.
The three of you bounced and laughed. “I’m nervous about going to the Court of Nightmares.” You admitted, playing with a string on the blanket to avoid looking at Feyre. You could avoid Rhys’ gaze easily since you were sitting with your head laid against his chest and in between his legs.
“Why?” Feyre brushed your hair behind your ears.
“Because…” You made a helpless gesture. “It's really scary.”
“You’ve been there before?” Feyre asked.
“Yeah well I wasn’t fucking the High Lord and Lady.” You sighed.
“Okay, you aren’t just fucking us.” Rhysand squeezed your hip. “You’re our wife. What label do you want them to know you as? Consort?-“
“I’ll rip your dick off.” You growled. “Consorts aren’t treated with the respect they deserve.”
“Agreed.” He said.
“Do you want political power?” Feyre asked with zero judgment.
“You know that’s not why I married you two.” You grumbled.
“But would you want it?” Rhysand pushed. His hands roaming over your skin, he knew how much the contact helped your anxiety.
You shrugged. “It’d be a massive adjustment. However….I’d love to help people and actually have the power to do so. But there’s…”
“Hm?” Feyre continued to stroke your palm.
“This is gonna sound bad but I don't mean it to be.”
Feyre smiled and based on the pulsing down the bond, Rhys was too. So you continued. “There’s no room for me to help rule.”
“Who says?” Feyre challenged.
You sputtered and Rhys decided to take you out of your misery.
“You know, there also wasn’t such a thing as High Lady when Feyre came into our lives.” He stroked down your back, his hands ending at your hips.
“And?” You asked.
“I rewrote that rule, and I’ll rewrite it again for you to be in it. You are our equal in every way and I refuse to let you be reduced to a ‘consort’ that is, if you want to be a High Lady.”
And that was it. The next day, the day you were supposed to head to the Court of Nightmares, you delayed it. Much to the confusion of your Inner Circle.
You were sworn in as a second High Lady.
How the Inner Circle found out was quite funny. Az had a feeling, Nesta and the Valkyries were happy for you. Mor and Amren just looked at Rhys with a secret High Lady? Again! Cassian used it as an excuse to celebrate that night so the group could ditch their Court of Nightmares persona.
When Azriel introduced you, he said, “Rise for your High Lord Rhysand, Highy Lady Feyre and High Lady Y/N.”
The three of you walked in, you in the middle, Rhysand and Feyre on either side of you.
You felt beautiful, respected. Even though you knew Keir would be a problem.
You were alright with those problems, as long as you had your family with you.

Hi<3 hru? I hope you have/had a good day!
So I'm rereading acotar and I just read Calamnai. And somehow I forgot that this ritual happens in all courts by their high lord and all I could think was how we were robbed of a fire night in Night Court :')
So I wanted to know if there are any fanfic about it? Like Feysand and Fire Night? Although idk if they call it Calamnai only in Spring Court or is it its name in general...
Anyway I would appreciate some recommendations<3 I came here bc MB said you're the right person for it hehe
If you're looking for calanmai fics that specifically take place in the Night Court, I would definitely recommend:
Calanmai in Darkness by @msfeyredarling - This is the only calamai fic I could find that's set in the NC post canon. It's Feyre's first Calanmai as High Lady and is exactly what it says on the tin. Bon apetite 😌
Bejeweled by @thesistersarcheron - This is an AU that fleshes out what a Night Court version of Calanmai might look like. It's delightful and wonderfully unhinged, I couldn't recommend it enough.
all the pieces fall right into place by @quakeriders - This is an acomaf AU where calanmai takes place before the mating bond reveal, and a certain High Lord needs to fulfill the rite or face dire consequences 👀
If you are happy with feysand calanmai fics that take place in the Spring Court, may I also suggest:
Fire Night by SweetVillainDarlingGod - That first meeting between Rhys and Feyre in book 1 with a delicious smutty twist. This author likes to explore a more dark!Rhys and this fic has some dub-con elements, so please read the tags and only engage if that's something that interests you!
Magic In the Air by Ladyloec - An AU where a post-canon Feyre travels back to the moment she first met her mate on Calanmai and decides to make things go a little differently 😏
we said hello and your eyes look like coming home by @rosanna-writer - If you're in the mood for a smutty feysand book 1 calanmai with a plot that follows all the consequences that come after, then I highly encourage you to read this!!

I got caught shoplifting a few weeks ago so Im gonna have a court proceeding (? if thats what you call it in english idk) in a couple hours and Im a little bit nervous but the shit I stole was only worth 7€ and it was my first time getting caught so I dont think it'll be too big of a deal. Honestly Im just glad I didnt get caught while I was stealing ~85€ worth of acotar books, because my punishment would not only be wayyyy harsher it would also just be embarrassing, imagine stealing sjm books when theres so many good books you could steal from a bookstore
Anyway, speaking of acotar books, its livebloggin time. Last time, Feyre and Rhysand came to this cabin in the woods/inn in the middle of nowhere and stayed in a room thats so small that you couldnt even have sex in it and then they had sex. not penetrative sex, they just fingered each other. Which is to say Rhysand fingered her vagina and Feyre fingered his wings because god forbid a man be on the receiving end for anything other than a blowjob. Also, I guess Mor, Cassian and Azriel are somewhere else? I didnt wanna say anything about them being gone bc I just kinda assumed they were staying with Feysand but they seem to be gone. whatever I dont care about those guys anyway
Chapter 49
Feyres internal declarations of love and wanting to be with Rhys forever feel very shallow when you consider the fact that 1) theyve only had like 3 months worth of non-traumatic interactions with eachother, and 2) she thought the exact same way about Tamlin and then she DIED FOR HIM and then she left him after barely half a year
'"You know exactly that I would do anything for my people and my family."' 'Your people' consisting of one (1) city
Feyre's pussy feels slightly raw from getting fingered hours ago?? thats not a good sign.
'"I'm not gonna turn away from you. Not from you," I promised him quietly.' honestly, i can believe that, if you can fully forgive someone for physically torturing and sexually assaulting you after like a month or two you can forgive them anything, I have no idea why Rhys would be worried about that
can you imagine if Rhysand got shot with poisoned arrows and he just died right here. Life could be a dream but alas, I live in a nightmare world
I actually really like Feyre going feral over her love interest like this (even if that love interest is Rhys) I dont we're gonna get much more of that in this series so I shall savour it
Yeah, now that she mentions it, how come one ash arrow was enough to straight up kill Andras but Rhysand gets hit by like a dozen and hes just fine after this. I guess it could be that Feyre shot Andras in the eye so it was more lethal than Rhys getting shot in the back and wings but still, afaik there are no longterm consequences from this, like hes not even gonna have to deal with idk, his back hurting at certain points or something
Im not a fan of Feyre being so murderhappy now when she was reluctant to even kill animals at the start of this book, like at a certain point Im not so much bothered by Feyre's character being retconned from ACOTAR but her character from start of ACOMAF
Damn I didnt think the sex would be anything other than a pointless diversion, but here it is, being plot relevant
How come these guys have been torturing him by just stringing him up and leaving the arrows while they whip him, if I was an evil torturer and had just gotten my hands on a guy with wings Im sawing those badboys off immediately. or should i say batboys ahahahha.hahha
Oh, just a splinter of ashwood can he deadly but of course Rhysand is gonna be pretty much fine after being impaled with seven whole arrows
'"And Elain would love [Velaris], I'm sure of it. Although she would probably cling to Azriel the whole time, looking for safety."' smth about that line feels icky to me, I think its the fact that I dont think Elain actually properly interacted with Azriel at this point and also, Velaris is a perfect paradisical city what on earth would she need his protection for there
ughhhh all this bullshit with the dresser is so unbearably annoying
I guess I'll see how this all actually pans out next chapter, but right now I gotta say I dont like the fact that Rhysand's wounds just heal on their own, I couldve used some good whump with him. And Im not just saying that because I dont like him and Im a sadistic little bitch, even though both of those things are true, Im saying this because I think seeing him in a vulnerable position for an extended time would make me like him more

So, I love Gwyn. Adore her. She’s one of the few characters in this series that I love unequivocally. (See also: Lucien, Emerie, Cressida.) And I think her kindness, along with her past trauma, would eventually put her at odds with the NC and its current (abhorrent) power structure.
So that’s what I wrote into this particular excerpt: Gwyn’s moral dilemma, after she hears a particular confession from Elain. And her conflict between her need for safety and the idea that it might be an illusion. (Plus some Gwynriel goodness, bc let’s have everyone be fundamentally different from Feysand from here on out, plz and thank you. 😁)
——————————
“Something happened,” [Azriel] said. It was not a question, but Gwyn shook her head anyway.
“It’s not important.” She sheathed her blade and turned to go. “I have early service tomorrow…”
“Don’t lie,” he murmured, and the shadows chittered again in concern.
“I’m not lying,” she hissed, anger flaring briefly that he’d caught it so easily.
The flash of hazel beneath a raised eyebrow. “You attend the dawnsong services twice a week, same as the other postulants, and you’ve already done your two or you wouldn’t come up here in the small time you have to sleep.” He crossed his arms, siphons gleaming blue as they caught the moonlight; a flash of cobalt among black, ocean moving restlessly beneath stars. “What ails you, Berdara?”
“Have you been spying on me?” she shot back. “How do you know that?”
“I am the spymaster,” he said, supremely cool and self-assured. A stab of annoyance pierced her, smack in the middle of her chest. Oh? He knew everything, did he? Smug bastard.
“Then you must already know, so why should I tell you?” she challenged him.
The silence that fell chafed at her, enough that she looked up at him — the opposite of what she’d meant to do. He was watching her from beneath hooded eyes, his features blurring into shadow, but she could feel his gaze almost as a physical touch. Seeking, seeking, always wanting to know more…
“What happened is the least important part of an event,” he finally said. Halting. Thoughtful. “The reaction of those involved — that’s the missing half of any story. And that tale can only come from the people themselves. From you…yourself.”
Was he…unsure? The confident shadowsinger? A tremor swept through her. She thought that would’ve made her feel triumphant, but it turned to dust in her mouth even as it happened. And the dust became a pulse of nausea, like the world was falling away.
…Can I tell you a secret?
Elain’s words throbbed in her skull. She put her hands shakily up to her head, her vision blurring, and swayed on the spot.
He was beside her in an instant. One arm swept around her shoulder, the other at her elbow. “Sit down, Berdara.”
It didn’t even occur to her to argue. She bent her knees, intending to slowly sink to the sand floor, but they buckled beneath her and she flopped down with a huff of air. He knelt next to her, wings spread as if to shield them both.
She breathed slowly, swallowing hard, until her vision slowly cleared. Fuck. What would he think of her now? A weak-willed child who couldn’t even bear what was inside her own mind?
He knelt, and she sat, the quiet of the night growing ever colder as midnight ticked by. Until their breath clouded around them. Until finally, finally, in a small and tired voice, she said, “I’m well. I should go to bed.”
“Don’t lie,” he said, the faintest note of amusement tilting his inflection up at the end. It was like hearing him smile. “You’ve not been well for months, Berdara. What happened today to make it worse?”
She shook her head.
A pause. “Was it what I said? Just now?” He shifted away slightly. “I only intended to correct your form —“
She laughed, a burst of a bubble inside her chest. Of course not, how could he be so stupid? “No, shadowsinger. It wasn’t you.”
The secret was so close, wanting so badly to spill out. She couldn’t. She’d promised Elain she wouldn’t. But the weight of it…that Elain didn’t feel protected, the beloved sister of the High Lady. Nesta hadn’t either; and she had been right, they’d sent her to the House of Wind and failed to protect any of them when they were kidnapped into the Blood Rite. Emerie hadn’t either, and her lovely wings were still mangled, breaking Gwyn’s heart every time she stretched them awkwardly. The thought that yet another vulnerable person didn’t feel safe here…that the leaders, who had guaranteed her safety and the safety of the other priestesses, might not have their best interests at heart…it felt like rocks, strapped to her chest and shoulders. Like opening a door to a familiar hallway but finding only open air beyond, and falling helplessly. If Elain went searching outside for answers because she felt she couldn’t trust Rhys and Feyre, how would any of them be able to trust them?
The shadows swirled gently around her, nudging her hair, swirling around her forearms. At least Azriel was here. He was an agent of the Night Court; but was he not also her friend?
She clenched her hands in the sand. Everything was falling away…

When this anti account posted that their bestie “who hasn’t even TOUCHED ACOTAR” was so excited to ship elucien and gwynriel based off the BC and some quotes
I was just sitting there debating whether or not to reply because HUH?? You’re gonna sit here and ADMIT that your friend hasn’t even read the series and you gave them out of context quotes and THATS WHY they ship these two ships??
Insanity. Like imagine that being bragging point? “Oh I didn’t even read the books, just saw a quote about them and decided to ship them teehee” like I’m sorry but that bestie is going to be REAL disappointed when she starts the series and Gwyn doesn’t even exist until halfway through the last book and Lucien is kind of an asshole throughout the series and Elain purposefully avoids him and says she doesn’t want him
This is the issue! Gwynriels don’t even READ and they are so vocal about out of context quotes and feel confident enough to argue with someone who has read canon text and ships elriel. And then when all their reaches get disproven they claim we are against SA victims or something else ridiculous like we bully them. If they could stop spreading misinformation - and that’s all we ask for - that ship would’ve died day 1
Yes, i saw that and I saw the same.
My friend saw quotes and thought they were cute!
that's not the flex they think it is. It just shows that that fandom is empty and has no substance at all. They've not read the books, they've not even read ACOSF.
This is not the first time I've seen this, and they get super defensive when you question their very solid, unwavering opinions on the subject and then snap 'well, i didnt read all the books! I read the Az Bonus chapter and saw TikToks online'
But again, someone on IG
One of them currently is literally cutting out the depiction of Elriel on the latest Tangerine Eileen art. Like they are showcasing each character on their IG, and Feysand and Nessian together, but not Elriel. That's how ridiculous they are. Are you seriously serious? Actually, same person recommends that ACOFAS not be read because 'it adds nothing' and is 'boring'.
If you really wanted to see an ostrich burying its head in the sand definitely look at them. They think that just because they avoid it it doesn't exist.

I have a question. In sjm latest interview did she said anything about TOG? I mean I know she said we have to read ACOTAR for HOFAS but I don't remember her saying anything about TOG?
And I guess I'm the only one who thinks TOG characters won't make an appearance? Or maybe I just don't want to bc at the end of the day this is Hunt and Bryce story and I don't want any other character from another series to be a hero or have any special focus on their series except CC characters!! I mean I don't have any problem with this whole multiverse but I'd hate it if she tries to make ACOTAR/TOG character highlight of the book!! There are so many ppl out there like me who enjoyed the series without that ending so it would be such a turn off if she makes other characters from another series be the ones who's saving the day yk...
And the fact that ppl are already saying they can't wait for TOG character to save them after IC and Hunt & Bryce fail to win the war like? I know you love them but I don't think (I HOPE SO) sjm would ever do that.
Even tho I think Feyre and Rhysand will travel to CC world bc of their death pack but that isn't even solid. And I feel like Bryce will stay at NC for like 1/4 of the book and if I'm being generous for 1/3 and we know its a huge book so its going to be a lot.
ps: Feysand death pack deal was worded carefully... I mean "leave this world together"? yeah I think it's a little forshadowing of them traveling to Lunathion and that's how they will lose it ig
Ooooh, nice catch on the wording.
I do think it's possible the ACOTAR characters could eventually travel outside their world though I have to say, I'm not a huge fan of the idea of them traveling to a modern place. That would be like the Hobbits from Lord of the Rings traveling to Manhattan, something about it seems off to me 😂 As far as her recent live, she did not mention TOG. In other interviews she said the series is completed and had no plans to pick it back up though she also added in a "but never say never". But I agree with you, I don't think we'll see the TOG characters in CC3 (though I could be wrong on that). And I do think the CC characters will be the ones to defeat the current threat to Midgard in their own series without needing help from the ACOTAR characters. If SJM does bring them together for one big crossover battle, I think that will take place down the line. Where maybe a single Aster escaped or the Asteri, before their defeat were able to connect with "survivors" existing in other worlds and those survivors will try to settle the score against those that defeated their brothers and sisters (Midgard / Prythian). It doesn't seem right that Rhys, Feyre, etc. would be the ones to help Hunt, Bryce, Ruhn, Lidia, etc in the Crescent City series. They already had their big battle in ACOWAR and they shouldn't just walk on page in the Crescent City series as the heroes. Just like it wouldn't be right for Bryce to defeat Koschei, that storyline belongs to the ACOTAR spin-offs and the ACOTAR characters are the ones who have history with him. So if they're going to eventually come to the aid of one another, I think it's got to be against a newly introduced external threat that targets them all at the same time, maybe something we'll discover in a Multi Series Multi POV book, a series or book that could technically stand on it's own.

Hi<3 I wanted to talk about your post about Nesta and pregnancy plot:
I agree with you but also the pregnancy plot was written from 2 other characters pov that has nothing to do with Feysand. this is definitely an important plot-line for the ship and like you said it was only written to be a redemption arc for Nesta (imagine you retcon the idea of c-section to find a way for your character redemption... wtf?) she could've approached it in so many better ways like "communication". but at the same time if you look at it from Feysand pov it makes so much sense for Rhys to do what he did and not bc its in character for him.
bc Feyre was pregnant and she also knew the birth would be hard so she wasn't completely in the dark and there's always a chance at dying during child birth like I'm pretty sure back then was absolutely common even though they're living in a magical world but you know nothing make sense in that fkn book. but yeah let's say Feyre didn't know and imagine the stress she would've gone through if she knew, it only would've hurt the baby. and it wasn't like Rhys didn't wanted to tell her, it only happen that Nesta told her first so he really didn't have a chance to discuss this with her. also Nesta promised to not tell but she broke that promise, she's not any better.
and what is really interesting to me is Rhys was doing everything he could to find a way to help Feyre. he wasn't sitting on his ass and doing nothing unlike "someone" who only had meaningless sex and did not offer to help. so it's obv to me that the only reason she told Feyre was bc IC didn't trust her to tell her about the swords gee I wonder why… (and the fact that she thought her situation is anywhere near what Feyre was going through) I still don't know what sjm was thinking to make that a redemption arc for Nesta. I'm Genuinely disappointed bc she could've have write the most jaw dropping journeys but it was reduced to smut and no plot to be seen...
Exactly.
If we’d had Rhys’ pov we would’ve known what he was thinking, and why he did it.
Because as you said it would’ve been soooo traumatic for feyre and 100% would’ve not been good for the baby.
I’m writing Feysand’s pov for some of acosf and I just reread the bit where feyre finds out and she literally says “Madja said there would be an increased risk”
And again it comes down to nesta not knowing how to handle people disliking her, she was hurt and her first response was to hurt feyre, even when feyre voted for nesta to know about the trove.
And Rhys had gone to visit miryam and drakon, had mor looking on the continent, and had begged Helion to help him (which is big bc he has the tattoos).
She had so much potential with that book. And the redemption arc didn’t really work. All nesta did to heal with feyre was save her life, she didn’t apologise or anything

If Cerridwen and Nuala are training Elain in secret couldn’t they …get in trouble for keeping that a secret from Feysand who they work for? Not that I want them in trouble but why would they be keeping secrets from their employers in the first place and under their own roof? Rhysand usually keeps tabs on everyone, Az too, the twins work as their literal spies, so am I supposed to believe that they’re both unaware of Elain possibly training her stealthiness with the twins? I just feel like Elain is going to be such a secret keeper and I just don’t like that? Go move into your own house with all that mating drama, Az drama, and secret keeping. I like her but Feyre’s sisters are so full of drama..That bonus chapter proved it for Elain.
Why would she think it’s smart to kiss or makeout with Azriel…WHILE HER MATE WAS UPSTAIRS? I don’t care how in the moment someone is lol, SJM made them both seem highly inconsiderate of everyone in that house. “Oh my mates upstairs nbd ☺️ let me makeout with this other guy downstairs as he’s up there sleeping while also not considering that Lucien might feel disrespected since Im doing it while he’s right upstairs, and nbd if he gets pissed enough he starts a fight with Az over it while a pregnant fragile Feyre is upstairs asleep after her birthday Solstice party hehe Az is so cute I like him” I know she wrote it to be this forbidden moment but SJM writes things at the cost of making her characters seem SO morally questionable insensitive or idiotic. I prefer Az over Lucien don’t get me wrong! I prefer Elriel too! but I still think they were wrong to not to be more cautious of Lucien or a pregnant Feyre upstairs..As much as I’m glad we’ll get a look into Feysands life with Nyx as long as Elain lives there in her POV..the drama with Az and Lucien she brings to Feysands household has run its course for me. Take it somewhere else..Im torn between wanting her to live there to see Feysandnyx updates while wanting her to move out so Feyre doesn’t have to deal with her secret keeping and men drama. Feyre already had to deal with her sisters drama and well being give her a damn break SJM
She can’t even invite Lucien over without Elriel fans crying about it saying it makes Elain uncomfortable 😒 Have your adult fave who is mooching off Feyre get a job and move out then, bc Lucien is her friend, even if he was a history of being a super shitty friend ..they love eachother, she can invite him over whenever the hell she wants even if Lucien isn’t my fave. Moochers can’t tell her who to have over and who not to have over sorry to break it to y’all, either move out or deal with it. Not my fault you got bonded to MY friend sis
I don’t think Elain or the twins would get in trouble for it unless they were doing it with bad intentions. Like if they were teaching her to be sneaky so she could spy on Feysand or something then I’d think they’d get in trouble for it but other than that I don’t think anyone would care what the twins were teaching her. As long as it didn’t put her in harms way. And secret keeping is going to be a main factor in Elain’s book I think. Both her and Azriel are very mysterious characters and they have the perfect set up for a secret relationship…Then again Feysand usually knows everything that’s going on (especially Feyre).
And the whole Elriel solstice situation will always just be incredibly stupid to me. Especially how their fans reacted to Rhys interrupting them. Like yes Lucien is not entitled to Elain at all but the fact of the matter is those two are mates and mates tend to act on instinct rather than logic. If Lucien had caught them a fight would have most likely broken out. Remember how he acted just from the thought of Azriel and Elain being alone together? How do you think he would have acted if he’d actually caught them in the middle of something? And on Feyre’s fucking birthday and while she was pregnant too😭. Azriel and Elain were just being horny dumbasses and Rhys wasn’t harsh enough.
I agree Nesta and Elain are just way too much drama and it’s clear that Sjm is always going to insert Feysand into it. She uses them to make their stories more interesting.
And I never take elriels seriously when they cry about how “Feyre makes Elain uncomfortable by inviting Lucien over” because one it’s her house and if Elain doesn’t like whose invited to a house that doesn’t belong to her then she can move out. And two Lucien was Feyre’s friend before he was Elain’s mate. He’s most likely going to stay Feyre’s friend no matter what choice Elain makes with the mating bond. It’s so selfish and entitled for Elriels to think that Feyre, who has already given up all her teen years for her sisters, is now obligated to give up her friendships too just because Elain isn’t ready to get her shit together. I know y’all love to baby that girl but other characters aren’t obligated to cater to her feelings.
Elain is in the middle of some drama and instead of wanting her to just grow up and talk it out like normal adults do, her fans turn around and try to shit on Feyre for not working around Elain’s feelings even though all of this is an easy fix.

That’s what confuses me. Without the bonus chapter, would we be so sure that Az’s book was next? I always imagined his book would be last bc he was mysterious and full of angst and a good choice if there was a final battle. Now that is seems that the last could be a Lucien book, it feels a bit different. I think Lucien has earned the right to close it out and it makes me happy, but I’m not fully seeing it being as dramatic as I would expect.
Hitting the nail on the head nonnie.
The bonus POVs are just that: bonuses.
They are designed to offer insight on characters, specific situations, or help support where the story is going but the answer won't be fully there. They are not there to shout out who/what the next book will be about. All of those main points are placed within the 751 pages of acosf.
Another thing is everyone is focused on the Azriel pov. When there are two povs. The Feysand one is all about Elain. Why do people not talk about this? I rarely see people discuss this pov.
Now in acosf I tried to pay attention to smaller context clues. If you got back and reread acotar. If you've reread tog. I'm sure SJMs favorite thing is the small clues and foreshadowing. When you go back your mind is blown.
Aside from the Illyrian plot because we know its unresolved and still open.
let's look at some other things that are open ended in acosf.
Lucien and Elain
They weren't featured much. Everytime they were they were kind of the focal point not just there. Even at Solstice Cassian made it a point to talk to Lucien
The seasons. Three seasons are mentioned in acosf. (This isn't open ended just something I found interesting)
Autumn (this is the big one. Most of the story takes place in this season). Winter and spring. I believe towards the end the phrase spring bloomed or rose is used. It was kinda like using the seasons as foreshadowing
Vassa
Koschei wants Vassa back and if you ask me. He's done with being patient. Especially when it comes to someone who "belongs" to him.
The Dead Trove/ the queens/ the mother
Not going into this because it's mentioned that it will be continued but not focused on atm. Nesta is all about her mating ceremony and not the Trove. To her it can wait. And this very well could be Sarah telling us later later. As in the final book
Tumblr media
Eris and the final plot chapter
I'm not counting chp. 80 that's the hea chapter and nothing significant is in it. It's just an overview of Nesta and how far she's come. I love it and it makes me proud of her it gives nothing beefy to future books. Chapter 79 though...
Tumblr media
Listen friend. Beron is a fucking idiot and he totally would. He is an older High Lord set in his ways. The world is changing and he doesn't like it. Enter in Koschei who could offer him something. Beron is fool enough to say yes.
Tumblr media
And this because I love it 🥰 because Eris going to play a card that will tip everything over. He's going to do it for one of three people: Lucien, Mor, or Elain.
Anyway, the final chapter with context of the next books focuses on Beron, the autumn court and Koschei a little.
Lucien is tied to Beron, autumn court, and Koschei by means of Vassa and Elain.
Elain is tied to Koschei by her visions and Vassa. She's going to be tied to the Autumn court because of Lucien.
Eris will clearly be important to all of this as well. And if Elucien is the next book could very well get Eris on the throne and thus having the autumn court aid the night court in the upcoming war. We sure as hell know Beron won't help again.
There's definitely reasons for the next book to be Gwynriel. We all know it. And it wouldn't surprise me in the least. But all I'm pointing out is there's a bit of to point to Elucien as well.
Idk nonnie. Call it selfish I guess but I think it's unfair to resolve Gwynriel when Elucien shippers have been waiting the same length as Nessian shippers.

sorting acotar characters into hogwarts houses
idk why i decided to make this post but it was fun sooo...
lmk if y'all agree or disagree. Also please no hate, sometimes a post is just for fun and i don't need any negativity. UNLESS its hate for elain which by all means go ahead ;) (because of ppls sensitivity, this joke isnt an invitaion to go on a full blown elain hate rant just offer a few jabs, especially if you agree on the elain section and move on, if you wanna go on a rant, message me or submit a post and i'll response, all the love <3)
Slytherin: Ambition, Cunning, Leadership, and Resourcefulness
Rhysand: of course Rhys is Slytherin, the man screams Slytherin. We all know he's cunning, often coming up with plans to get what he wants, leader well duh, he's a high lord and loves it and is great at it, he's ambitious, he's a dreamer, so of course, he wants more, and he's resourceful, always being able to think on the spot. Rhysands second house would be Ravenclaw for sure though.
Eris: uhhh do I even have to explain? wants to be Highlord, boom ambitious. seems to be the one in charge of his brothers and has many responsibilities, boom leader. being able to achieve what he wants, boom cunning. resourcefulness...yeah I don't got an example for that one, anyways 3/4.
Azriel: daddy az is a Slytherin, I mean obviously this is the best house (is it obvious yet that I'm a Slytherin ;) but fr, I debated sorting him into Ravenclaw, but even though yes he shows Ravenclaw traits it's not the ones we see the most of or the ones that really shine through Azriel's reserved personality. The main traits azzy boo here has from Slytherin are Cunning and Resourcefulness, and imo these are the ones we see from him every page.
Amren: im putting amren here too, she's literally both!
Gryffindor: Brave, Courage, Daring, Chivalrous
Cassian: this one is self-explanatory, how many times has he put others before himself, how many times has he endangered his own life to save others. that's a Gryffindor soul he has. he always tried to do the right thing, he's brave as hell and reckless at times it seems from the little snide comments we've gotten from the books, he would have been a marauder no doubt.
Tamlin: I hate to do this I do because I love my lions, but I had to put this piece of shit somewhere and since he reminds me of peter Pettigrew bc of his cowardness, I'm sorting him in here. I'm so sorry guys ;(
Morrigan: helloooo, the house colors are red and gold??? obviously mor would demand this house, yes demand. but not just that she's crazy brave, at only what 18? i think, she stood up to her family, making a decision she knew could have her ending up in a horrible situation. but she always is brave, shes gotta when her evil family is still in her life.
Hufflepuff: Loyal, Kind, Patient, Hardworking
Gwyn: i choose my girl gwyn for Hufflepuff bc let's face it, she is the embodiment of Hufflepuff. She's loyal to her new friends, emerie and Nesta, and the priestesses. She's kind as we can see when she first met Nesta and when emerie and Nesta shared their stories. She's very patient never snaps at that bitchy priestess who idk the name of as well as patient when it comes to her and Azriel's tender new friendship and hardworking, always doing her job, running around the library, for her work, always researching more ways to help the Valkyries. i debated putting her in Ravenclaw, because of her intelligence, but i think she's a Hufflepuff through and through.
Elain: IT HURTS MY HEART PUTTING PLAIN ELAIN IN THIS HOUSE. but I gotta, the only trait this plant sniffer has out of all the houses is "kind and patient" EVEN THOUGH SHE'S NOT REALLY LMFAO. I've made a post on explaining why this dirt lover isn't as kind as the books make her out to be, and I would argue she isn't actually patient at all, I mean did we miss how she was basically frustrated Nesta wasn't getting better even though it had been like what 2 weeks, LMFAO. but yeah I mean she's not loyal unless you have food and money then oh yeah she'll be loyal and she's not hardworking bc I mean she never did jack shit and still doesn't, sorry to do this to y'all.
Note: some of yall are so soft. this is not an anti elain post. sorry i insulted her but hey its my post, and i have commentary on each character to explain why i feel they belong in a certain house. sorry i happened to insult your fav. but this isnt an anti elain post, just like its not anti tamlin or anti eris. its just a post about all the characters period, which is why i inculded all of them in the tags. hey, i even insulted Nesta a little bit, but I'm not gonna tag anti-Nesta bc it's not a fucking hate post. get off this post if it comes across you and you don't like what I say, it's not hard to literally just scroll, trust me I've done it multiple times especially when it's a hate post on my beloved characters and they didn't use the anti tags. it's not fucking hard, grow up.
Ravenclaw: Wisdom, Wit, Individuality, Intelligence
Feyre: I debated putting queen feyre into Slytherin, I mean she shows the traits for sure, but it's not really if she shows the traits it's what shines the most in her. Ravenclaws are known for their creativity (bae luna Lovegood <3) and feyres an artist, even in her darkest times she remained an artist, always seeing portraits in her mind, always admiring the beautiful colors of the world. We know she's intelligent, picking up reading and writing quickly, and we also see it when she's strategizing, with the inner circle. Feyre is so wise, she had to be, she had to grow up quickly, you often see her in the books giving advice, because even though she's only 21, she's lived a lifetime. and the whole book of acomaf can show you how witty she is, I mean its what made us fall in love with feysand.
Amren: tiny snowball amren is literally a slytherclaw, she has all the traits from both. but because of how well she is with coding languages and how she always reads and does puzzles i think she'd enjoy being a Ravenclaw.
Nesta: I thought about this for a while, really looking into where she would thrive, Ravenclaw is for her no doubt. She's herself, always has been even when that wasn't such a good thing... but she's witty too if you make sure to not count the "the book is about...a book" I'm sorry that line makes me laugh every single time. we haven't really seen much of her intelligence but I'm guessing she is. but really she would love to be in a house where ppl are themselves and read, i can already imagine her creating a book club where people can be themselves and enjoy smutty books like her.
Lucien: originally I was going to sort him into Hufflepuff but then I remembered how intelligent he is, how witty, and I remembered in acowar he talked about how being the youngest of what 7 heirs? he had the chance to really educate himself which he loved to do, to really learn about his court, idk this man just screams intelligence to me.
I left out emerie bc i honestly don't know where to sort her, i feel like i just don't know her too well or understand her enough to sort her, so feel free to lmk where she would belong :)

stans are actually very funny bc they often time talk themselves into the weirdest corners.
the whole point of criticizing acosf and its handling of nesta's character is to prove the point that sjm...doesn't like nesta as a character. that's is literally THE point - that sjm often abandons her moral themes (abuse, trauma, assault, etc.,) for character's deemed as undesirable or villainous to a capacity - and its through the handling of those 'vilified' (i.e. main character opposed - not even villianous) that we can gauge the extent to which sjm actually believes the ideals of her story. like - it is alarming that the only tolerable, empathetic parts of the a court of silver flames were the moments you could tell where ripped straight from sjm's own life (the hiking, training, mind-stilling etc.,). any actual characteristics about nesta weren't explored...like at all. her relationship with feyre and elain, with her mother, her trauma from her sexual assault, her conflicted relationship with her grandmother, her life before the cabin, her life during the cabin. in 800 pages - i still don't know mama archeron's name. what was life like in the cabin? what did nesta do all day? what was the dynamic? what was going on between elain and nesta?i don't know anything about her and nesta, we don't know anything about nesta's human life, her conversation with clare bedor, her relationship with clare beddor, moments with her dad - not even touching moments with him (and part of this story is her finding love for her dad). mind you we read 800+ pages and we learned absolutely nothing about her.
we essentially read sjm's emotional journey in one part, and a taming of the shrew narrative in another. i think the only way sjm had genuine interest in exploring nesta's story is through essentially self-inserting herself and avoiding the actual plot-points she set up in the first three books. like did nesta have childhood friends? if losing the wealth so drastically affected her life wouldn't she reminisce about it a lot? would she yearn for her mother? who were her childhood friends, how did she function at court?
and the whole point of saying alll of that is to argue the misuse of these topics - serious discussions abuse are only reserved for certain situation, and others its completely undermined in a way that only reinforces the negative ideals to begin with. (i.e. nesta needs to abused bc..." "the intervention was harsh but" - pair that with discussion around what feyre needed in acomaf - and it makes much more sense).
nesta antis often jump between the fact that nesta is so favored that sjm nerfed feysand to 'redeem her' and arguing that sjm secretly does everything in her power to embarrass and secretly laugh at people who like nesta's character. (1) we've gotta pick one or the other (2) in my humble opinion - sjm would have always given feyre a pregnancy plot like this regardless of whether this was nesta's book or elain. its literally so sjm. im shocked people are surprised she pulled the pregnancy as she did.
as with the tamlin discussion we had under this post - i think the story undermines its discussion of abuse with feyre/tam by essentially insinuating that tamlin (when placed in the same victimized position as feyre) should have sucked it up and braved out his abuse with amarantha (and the same with rhysand as well - esp with the deliberate foil of rhysand's 'willingness' v. tamlin's unwillingness). and when we start to have a real conversation ultilizing our own irl analysis and standards we really see how harmful and rather sisyphean the conversation becomes. instead of engaging with these topics earnestly, they only engage in them to prove a point - which is how the issue began in the first place. the whole issue with rhysand isn't the fact that he engages with harmful, potentially villainous positions. no - its that the book wants to prove that tamlin is wrong by justifying rhysand's actions. so even though rhysand and tamlin almost always have the same written and expressed intentions in their abuse of feyre, the book flocks to justify one, and eschews the other. and thats why we get so much reactionary critcism of rhys that is surface: people only admit the problems because they know antis will, not because they actually believe their are issues in the story.
and perhaps im still speaking into a void here but i can tell there's tension between pro stans wanting to have these serious conversations but understanding they can only really introspect so far until the conversation begin to prod at the validity of the topics being brought forth. so stans have to jump between invalidating the romantasy genre ("its just faeries") and treating this book as a serious topic (cue: "sjm put a hotline in the back of the book"). this is also the exact reason why the racism conversations stall (i.e. why inherent superiority is always passively emphasized - despite cc1 + 2 centering human oppresion there is no human in the ensemble cast. despite the fact that illyrian women are the most oppressed - rhys has no illyrian women - or reg illyrians (not his brothers) in his inner circle. aelin 'sacrificing' her human body).

Carlos; a RushBit extra
From chapter 24 // ao3 // fic index // Masterlist
Tumblr media
So, @disgruntledspacedad asked when she read chapter 24:
“Okay I have just one question. What is the backstory on Carlos???
Alligator gars are impressively large and prehistorically scary, and the fact that Chucho has one mounted in his home says so much about him. I am genuinely intrigued.”
And that question made me laugh a lot, so here we have the story of Carlos, the alligator gar fish;
Thanks to @purplepascal042 that helped me a lot with this one bc I know NOTHING about fishing, love you always.
Tumblr media
The beginning of Carlos' story starts in 1960, in which Chucho started going fishing with some neighbours and their kids; it had started as something Javi (aged 9 here) had asked and Chucho being somehow (fully, Margarita would add) wrapped around the kid's finger, had put together.
Just a trip to go fishing with three neighbours from the nearby ranches and their kids.
It became something they did every month and then, something they did without the kids.
Margarita would say, years later, that she was happy her husband was bonding and making friends with other men but she really disliked that they had left out the children, even if Javi moved on to something else, like tending to the baby cows.
To celebrate a year of their fishing trips, one of the guys would mention something about going onto a larger road-trip to see if they could catch larger fish.
What Chucho didn't know, and wasn't informed because his friends were little assholes, was that the trip was focused solely on catching the large, trashy, monstrous alligator gar.
Those years, that fish was seen as a threat because what the fuck do you mean there's a combination between alligators and fish?????? so when Chucho let his wife and kid know he was going to be gone for a full weekend to try to catch big fishes he got two reactions:
"Oh, hell no." and "Llévame, pop!" (take me)
You already guessed; Margarita was pissed, Chucho was a hands on dad, and he would take Javi with him to work after school and on weekends so his wife could have a rest, Javier wasn't a bad kid or naughty, but he was just so fucking curious and active that she just didn't have energy to keep up with him, so, for Chucho to be gone for seventy-two hours was a NO from her.
Chucho had to beg and promise he would take Javi for a road trip the next weekend so Margarita would have the house to herself.
Javier was pissed too, though, he wanted to go and spend the weekend with his dad fishing, but Chucho told him it was a grow-up's trip and promised the same thing.
So, a six-hour road trip with four men on a van later, Chucho confirmed a suspicion just by looking at the river and at the bait... They were gonna use actual fish. And of course, the other people around hanging their large catches.
But, as a good Mexican man, he wasn't chickening out; he grabbed his fishing rod, and he didn't even ask his friends if they were completely out of their minds, he knew they were.
Up to the challenge, you could see four men standing on a boat, on the place where two currents converged, talking about how amazing would it be if they caught a monster fish.
“You don’t really think we’re gonna catch that thing, do you?” he had asked, and got a groan echoed by three voices.
“Stop being so pessimistic, Jesús.”
And just like that, well, four hours later, the first fishing rod to start pulling, was Chucho’s.
Everyone lost their minds in that moment, one of them even let his own rod fall to the water and didn’t even bother to look twice at how it sank, Chucho was struggling, so two of his friends dropped their rods on the boat and started helping him with the fight while the fourth kneeled on the boat to pull the anchor and rushed to the steering wheel to keep the heavy fucker from pulling the boat, the two guys that were helping Chucho were screaming at each other, one grabbing him by the waist to keep him on the boat and the other taking the rod to keep it steady as Chucho concentrated on releasing the line and reeling back.
Everyone was screaming around him but Chucho was silent, frowning and focused on not letting the heavy fish go away, he had begged his family for a chance to go on the trip and he wasn’t wasting it.
After forty-four minutes of fighting, tensioning, reeling back and constant screaming that had Chucho’s ears ringing, the fish gave up and between the three guys pulled it into the boat, one of them took his shirt off to wrap around its mouth just to prevent any chomps and they all let out a spent sigh at the same time.
“Let’s get out of here.” one of them said.
So, a day earlier than expected, Chucho arrived home and yelled out for Javi, who rushed out of the house to see his dad and his friends take out of the van a large four feet, green and scaly dead fish that looked scary enough to make a ten-year-old stop on his feet and frown at four grown men.
“Pop, what is that?” Javi asked loud enough to make the other men laugh.
“A fish!”
“What in God’s name you brought, Jesús!?” his wife yelled behind Javier.
“¡Un pez para la casa!” (a fish for the house)
“No vas a poner eso en mi casa, no señor.” (you're not putting that in the house)
“C’mon Maggie,” one of Chucho’s friend stepped in “we spent forty-five minutes catching this thing.”
“I don’t care, it’s not getting inside the house.”
“It’s part of the family now.” Chucho teased his wife, who frowned and glared at him.
“It looks scary” Javier let out, sauntering towards the dead animal “looks like a dinosaur.”
“Looks like the man that knocked up your sister.” spat Margarita, Javier widened his brown eyes to his mom and Chucho let out a loud cackle.
“Carlos!”
let me know if you wanna be removed :)

Why I think Feysand were OOC in ACOSF
I hope that no one misunderstands from the title but let me say this is a 100% PROfeysand post. so if you hated feysand even before acosf, then this post isn't for you.
So i've seen a lot of interesting theories about feysand's and in particular rhys' behaviour and choices throughout acosf. and while alot of them seemed possible and may have been the case canonically speaking, even as a feysand stan i just couldn't seem to wrap my head around some of the things they said and did in the book. they just both seem OOC, its the only pausible explanation for me.
To understand why feysand were OOC in the book we have to look at this through a narrative perspective. as in we have to ask why would the author write the character/s in this way?
a quick overview of what a character arc is
so there can be a lot of variations of a character arc in a story but the basics is as follows (how does the character go from point 'a' to point 'b'):
the 'big lie' - the views/beliefs/actions the character has at the start which will be challenged throughout the story (this is point 'a')
the 'incident' - a plot point in which starts development of the character. something that spurs the character into action, this most ofter happens when they are placed in an unfamiliar situation. this usuallyy is the intial challenge to their 'big lie'. at this point the story will move forward and theres no going back.
the midpoint - the character changes conciously or subconciously, they start to recognise their own flaws in the 'big lie'.
world collaspes - this is usually on the heels of a victory, the character reaches the lowest point in their journey. they finally confront 'the big lie' and forces to stop this deception they inflict on themselves. they can destroy it or it will destroy them.
the climax - the reason for the story. the reason why the character had to take this journey in order to get to this moment. the moment that the character will decide once and for all whether they will go forward to point 'b' or regress back to point 'a'
the resolution - the character reaches point 'b'. their view/beliefs/actions have changed, they no longer believe in the 'big lie'.
So obvisouly the main character in acosf is Nesta. What sjm does in her books is that every plot point and development of secondary characters is in service to the arc of the main character. None of the character's outside of Nesta have their own development. Not even Cassian, any sort of changes or developments he undergoes is in service to Nesta (a complete missed opportunity for Cassian but that a whole other point). And before anyone tries to say otherwise, you can have development for characters even if they are secondary ones (and for a book that is 800+ pages long it is definitely possible). An example is with his can also be seen with Gwyn. Her leaving the library for the first time was a huge moment for the character, but she did so, in order to comfort Nesta after her big fight with Cassian. It was also so that Nesta, Gwyn and Emerie could all be together in Illyria so they could be kidnapped and forced to enter the blood rite (where the final showdown occurs with Nesta and the villan).
so what has this got to do with feysand and why are they OOC?
In fact the entire plot with feyre's pregnancy was made to give chracter developments for Nesta. There was nothing written in the book that suggested any developments for feyre and rhys. it did nothing for them. Nesta needed to become central to the story and the only way sjm thought to keep feyre side lined was to make her pregrnant. It was also just lazy writing and world building bc there is no way that rhys would have though of this when he and feyre were trying for a baby.
SIN #1 The Shields
Rhys practicing shields (shield thats doesn't even allow anyone to even touch her) on feyre, which she just allows. the book explains because of the fact that there is more danger to her now that she's pregnant. Narratively, this would make sense if there is a payoff. Like later in the story if feyre was in physical danger and the shield saves her or if the shield became a detriment to her in some way. But no nothing like this happens. Rhys 'practices' the shield on her and thats it. Rhys, who was the same person that trusted feyre enough defend herself against the weaver. It was totally out of character that he would shield her to the point that Cassian can't even kiss her on the cheek (sounds familiar huh). and the same goes for feyre, who has no problem with this (*cough* tamlin locking her up *cough*). Thats is some OOC behaviour.
So what were the point of the shields? well since sjm made it canon that fae can smell when a female is pregnant, the biggest way they came into play was in the scene when rhys lifted it long enough so that everyone could sense that that feyre was pregnant. And It could have been just that, feyre and rhys were expecting a baby, and Nesta can go along with her development, they did not need to intersect. But it did, and we'll come back to that later. This scene is a lighthearted moment in the book, one of the rare few where all the characters are happy and celebrating a good thing. acofas we knew that rhys and feyre decided to try for a baby, and seeing it pay off here was enjoyable for the readers.
But what else does this scene do? through Nesta's perspective, we can read her thoughts on it, and though she doesn't reveal much its an important character moment for her. the readers can see that she can feel happiness for someone else beyond the self-loathing she guards herself with, it shows that she is a character worth rooting for.
SIN #2 Rhys concealing the dangers of the pregnancy from feyre
oof this one is a doosey. this was the most baffling thing to come out of acosf for me. there is literally no reason or explanation that would make sense for rhys to lie to feyre like that. It offers no development for the two character it affects the most: rhys and feyre. there no fallout on rhys' end for lying to her, and there is no turmoil for feyre such as falling into depair like we told she would (the whole reason that rhys was hiding it in the first place).
When Nesta finds out that the pregnancy was most likely going to kill feyre and the baby. instead of Nesta disagreeing and urging Rhys to tell feyre, she doesn't say anything and forms a temporary truce with him, a character she has always had conflict with. It also serves as the incident that allows Nesta to have her 'world collapse' moment in her character arc. How else was Nesta going to realise what a shitty person is was being if she didn't do something so absolutely shitty? in a fit of rage, Nesta reveals to feyre that the pregnancy was going to kill both her and the baby. she get taken away on a hike in illyria (because???) and she reaches rock bottom after she comes to term with what she did. the story is taken away from velaris and the inner circle, and any conflict and resolution that happens between feyre and rhys, if it even happened at all, happens off page. again furthering my point about the pregnancy having no impact on the two characters is affects the most. After Nesta's fleeting moment of enlightenment, and her swordplay sex marathon with Cassian (urgh) she returns to velaris and nothing has changed between rhys and feyre. there isn't really much of a development with Nesta's relationship with feyre, their 'reconciliation' occurs all of less than one page and doesn't even happen out loud, just mind to mind. Now that Nesta has had her important character moment, nothing else matters (again lazy writing).
SIN #3 Everyone dies
ok so yes everyone has said their two cents about this and i agree with it. Feyre and nyx had to die so that Nesta could have her climax moment. It is the climax of the story since it is the big story development right before the resolution. and about the bargain - feysand decided in acofas that they were going to try for a baby. meaning that it was after this decision that they struck the bargain that they would die together. so at some point they would have thought of the fact they would have a child/children when the both die. im sorry but do they seem like the kind of ppl that would make a suicide pact even if it meant leaving their children behind? TOTALLY OOC for me. and i dont know i guess also the stakes weren't high enough with just the threat of feyre and nyx dying.
So feyre and nyx are dead and rhys will soon follow and Nesta intervenes to save them. Its also a self-sacrificing moment bc she has to give up her powers in order to do this... Showing that she does truely love her family and the depths of her powers. (seriously idc how you stan or hate how does anyone this good book?). don't doubt that in the future books sjm will find a way for Nesta to get her powers back (whatever they are (pure death WHAT DOES THAT MEAN???))
So Nesta saves the day, everyone is fine and nothing has changed except Nesta is nice now probably. the end.
welp this got way longer that i expected but anyways long story short there was nothing about the pregnancy that gave development to feysand characters and it was all for the development of the main character.
i don't claim acosf!feysand and sjm better fucking leave them alone in the rest of the books.

hey lovely! i just to know ur opinions on the theory that az's mother is a seer 2 & that's why the place where lives is called rosehall bc she was waiting for elain to come into her son's life? & how roses always somehow connected to elain & we have necklace & a shared dresser which is about roses too? & how it was mentioned that elain smells like jasmine - a night blooming flower? i really want to believe in elucien endgame but there's so many amazing points from both sides so its v hard :(
All of these points are fine until ACOSF sort of shuts that ship down tbh. Like it was very clear to me that SJM went “SIKE” on that ship. It’s kind of annoying that all the “evidence” is based on what happened in previous books and though they had their moment in Azriel’s POV, to me it was made clear that Elain is just a distraction and he harbors no real romantic feelings for her. She returned the necklace and he gave it to someone else (which he didn’t seem too bummed about her returning it lol). It is no longer Elain’s business. It is no longer about Elain.
It’s been very clear to me since reading ACOSF that it is implied, as I have read and understood it, Azriel’s actual romantic inclinations would lean towards Gwyn who is pretty much his equal in many ways (not that Elain is less awesome). Granted, Azriel needs to get bitch slapped by an intense amount of self love and work on himself first.
As for the Rosehall, that’s what Tamlin’s manor is called. There’s some confusion happening with the name because I think Sarah straight up forgot she used that name for the Spring manor too lol.
Idk what would imply and how the theory of Azriel’s mother being a seer came to be? There have been no indications of that in text. She’s mentioned twice and that’s about it. Unless I missed something big? But also, seer thing aside (that makes no sense to me) —what benefit would Elain bring into Azriel’s mother’s life? What would they share? Why would she be waiting for Elain lol? If anything, Gwyn has a similar background dealing with abuse that she can connect with Azriel’s mother on. But also, flowers were always something for Elain and her love of gardening prior to having anything to do with anyone else. If we wanted to play that card, Lucien has been in the Spring Court for years. He is one of the people actively trying to keep it from completely dying out. There seems to be little seeds planted (pun intended) of the Spring Court being a place Elain would love/thrive in and who does the Spring Court tie to? Lucien. Her mate.
The jasmine scent was also used to describe the room Feyre set up for Nesta at the Feysand manor. “It was soothing and smelled of jasmine, precisely the sort of room she’d have designed for herself if she’d been given the chance.” So I mean, *shrugs*
‘Nonnie dear, ship who you want. You can see one ship over the other and that is fine. You can see both ships and that’s great. There isn’t a need to convince yourself of one or the other. SJM could pull something out thin air and have Elain end up in a threesome with Tarquin and some rando then have Azriel end up with Balthazar so who the fuck knows lol. Just have fun with it! We’ll get faerie porn either way lol.
To me, based on what I have read and interpreted in the text, I’m not worried about Elucien endgame. Gwynriel being the next book and Elucien having the final book with a Mor novella possibly bridging between the two is what makes the most sense to me so I will stand by that until SJM says otherwise lol.

Sjm really fucked up with the sisters relationship and healing. I know that technically all is well. But it wasn’t done right. Hell it wasn’t done!
Feyre and Nesta barely interact after the intervention bc Nesta is rightfully angry, then baby reveal and Nesta softens a bit but they still barely interact, then feyre might die reveal and Nesta feels bad for telling her the truth and apologizes, then Feyre almost dies and Nesta saves her and all is well???
Elain (Who Nesta was ride or die for) participates in the banishing business but doesn’t bother to show up ????? Then nothing, then she visits Nesta who is rightfully angry and Elain gets mad (wdm Nesta isn’t trying just bc she isn’t Nice to Elain?????) then nothing, then the fight at the house where Elain is just nasty (which could be interesting but alas no its just to make Nesta feel bad) then Elain purposely avoids Nesta, then soltice “did feyre pay you” (wtf????) “oh fuck you”, laughs, then nothing, then hand holding when Feyre is dying and then all is well??????
I know that we say that siblings never really apologize or anything but come the fuck on!
Also how was Feysand so involved in the plot but Feyre wasn’t much in contact with Nesta?????
Literally you're so right. There didn't necessarily need to be an apology scene (like you said, siblings) BUT there needed to be bonding!! Like in acotar when feyre comes back and she sits and talks to elain "you and i would have fun, wouldn't we?" or feyre saying she spent all her time at parties sitting next to nesta because she didn't want to talk to anyone and nesta scared everyone off like ????? that's so cute wtf why was i robbed of that???
