SO a lot of the info/tidbits i haven't shared about cookie are i guess gameplay-specific stuff... his title (which is like a class/playbook) is "The Noble Sweetheart," though in sapphicworld "nobility" no longer has anything to do with wealth or class, and is instead entirely about amassing a court purely via devotion/popularity; her subculture (which is like, Who You Hang Out With; drifters, goths, poets, debauchers, cowpokes, etc) is Babe; and her kind (which is like ancestries but in sapphicworld is really just like, a physical form, which u can change more or less at will) is Lunarthrope, which is basically a werewolf!! or more broadly a furry, since u always look like whatever were-animal you are 24/7. just MORE at night, tho i suppose i don't represent that aspect much in my cookie art... ANYWAY i am restraining myself from just sitting here and like. transcribing her entire character sheet. but basically what all this means is that cookie's role in the world (at least at the beginning of the campaign) is "Professionally — no, VOCATIONALLY Hot Person who everyone loves so so so so so so much." cookie really enjoys this role.

at the beginning of our campaign cookie has JUST received a brand new castle!!!! (chateau gorgeous.) which he doesn't actually "own" bc, remember, no wealth or class in sapphicworld, but he's the ENTHUSIASTIC new caretaker and is chomping at the bit to renovate it so ppl can live there and he can throw a bunch of magnificent parties and basically continue living exactly as he has been, But Even More Fabulous. obviously this is exactly when the main plot threat of the campaign shows up and spoils everything and compels cookie to go on his First Ever Adventure!!!!!! she HAS to save the world otherwise NOBODY will be able to go to the first big party at chateau gorgeous :((((

enjoys the plot and characters, but not massive on exploration. still enjoys all the characters thoroughly and knows more lore tidbits than most. is the sweetest coop friend.

GUNWOOK - okokok he'd be apprehensive at first until he pulls like c5 benny and a eula then the world of dps (damage per screenshot) awakens. fights wars in the trenches of the honeyhunterworld comments section. stays updated and dips in and out of the game.

secretly stays about for plot. finds exploration boring but can admit it's pretty. the dude who refuses to swap characters when doing coop domains. does a boss blitz when bored.

CASUALS 💫

HANBIN - ok only got it bc the kids said he should. (gyuvin uses him to get the coop achievements) actually ended up staying bc wow everything is gorgeous, the plot is engaging and the characters have depth! and it's all free ?? goes about it at a decent pace, doesn't do spiral often, just finishing floor 10.

tcg enjoyer and event player.

ZHANG HAO - TEAPOT MAIN god yeah hella into the teapot. only completes the story and everything for the teapot. comes on sometimes to help hanbin out or bc someone else needs mats from his world. has a solid overworld team for collecting mats etc.

mildly enjoys the plot but exploration is where it's at.

NOT A GAMER 🌱

JIWOONG - only got it bc everyone else did, found out it took too much space on his phone, deleted it. tried playing it on gunwook's pc but had to play zhongli with his shield up 24/7 bc mechanics are hard okay! does see it as pretty and that yeah some characters are worth spending money for but there are better ways to find enjoyment in life.

TAERAE - doesn't mind it. he just doesn't see the hype over online characters. if and when he does play, it's on someone else's account and on the tcg. man loves the tcg, making decks and sweeping the floor with everyone.

has insane pull luck.

YUJIN - hmmm he sorta thinks it's cringe but gyuvin makes him play it. defo a valorant kid. tried to make a gun didn't work. plot doesn't matter much to him, interested in some character backstory but dips out when it comes to exploring. yujin defo thinks childe, xiao and alhaitham are cool. paimon gets on his nerves the most.

okay, for a fic w this title, my brain really latched onto the first part of this, and i think i'm going amnesia fic on this one.

maybe on a hunt for a witch, sam gets hit with an amnesia curse, and takes one look at dean with his big concerned eyes and hands on his face and is like, "oh yeah okay this is my boyfriend? partner? husband?" and rolls w it. and he takes dean's hands off of his face and v earnestly is like "i'm okay <3 thank u <3 we'll figure this out together <3"

and it takes them until they get back to the bunker for dean to even realize that sam thinks they're together. sam probably says something like "haha can you point me to our room?" and dean is like "um?? your room is that way??"

and maybe sam is kinda confused but i mean, couples sleep separately sometimes. but there is no way to miscommunicate when sam walks up behind dean while he's making dinner and slides a hand underneath his jeans to grab a handful of ass.

when dean tries to explain, that no, in fact, they're brothers, sam laughs bc there's no fucking way.

and he starts pointing out all the weird things, like: we're forty and live together? no girlfriends? we have a dog? we have the same job and are together 24/7? you're literally making me my favourite meal in a little apron? you cradled my face in your hands and led me out of that house by the waist? and i'm pretty sure i'm 800% in love with you.

so now dean is stuck with a conundrum, because a) sammy is down, like astronomically down, he keeps trying to kiss him and also lets dean know when he's turned on now?? what the fuck?? but b) sam is still his brother! and when they break this curse, he will be pissed if dean takes advantage, right? right??

so it's all about whether or not they'll regret this, if there's even anything to regret, and if sam's feelings are a product of no memories, or if, dear reader, they were there the whole time.

that minthara and florrick update was NUTS. Minthara using her sources to see if Florrick ever slept with Ulder is EXACTLY the kind of unhinged, territorial behavior I love her for tbh. If you need an excuse to ramble about them, I would love to know how you picture this whole thing between them starting!

YES because the thing about Minthara is that she's operating on nuclear Menzoberranzan levels of intensity 24/7. Writing her subjective narration is very fun because she's so intelligent and cunning, but her perception of things is just slightly skewed from the reality of Baldurian life. That's the realization she starts to have toward the end, that she's playing this hardcore game of 4D chess basically just against herself, while Florrick is only like... having a nice evening banging her work frenemy (which is unhinged, just not nearly on the same level).

I only briefly mentioned in the fic what context I think this thing could have started in, but I'm obviously insane about this ship, so I'll take any excuse to expand! Wall of text incoming though...

Since the story is told from Minthara's POV, I wanted to go over what she sees in Florrick that would attract her, since Minthara's not easy to impress and doesn't waste her time with just anyone. And what she sees is... a lot of herself actually. She sees a powerful woman on a noble quest, driven by her unshakeable values, who falls into the clutches of the Absolute (albeit in a very different way) and almost loses herself, only to be saved and find herself again. I think that would earn Florrick just enough of Minthara's respect to earn her attention... and maybe a bit of a connection, too.

(This is also a saved but unromanced Minthara, passed over by the person who gave her back her life... still yearning for the affection and connection that is her deepest desire and her biggest weakness...)

Fast forward a bit and the Netherbrain is defeated, the Cult of Absolute is no more, people are cheering in the streets... All I'm saying is that *I* would be a little frisky. If I'm Minthara, I'm reaching for someone perhaps not in the tight-knit group of heroes I don't really feel a part of, but perhaps someone who's also on the edge of them, someone who's earned a bit of respect. If I'm Florrick... maybe she doesn't know that Minthara was the one who ordered the raid on Waukeen's Rest yet, or maybe she's temporarily willing to forgive it because Minthara, at the end of the day, did help save her beloved city and her beloved duke.

(Or maybe she's just a wood elf* and, opposite of Minthara, her attitude toward sexuality is pretty relaxed and she doesn't feel the need to justify her desire or make partners 'earn' it. It's just sex, not a big deal....

*not confirmed in canon and possibly refuted by her stats, but always real to ME bc of the fun flavors it adds to her characterization overall as a stern, urbane bureaucrat)

So anyway they bang once, expecting that to be the end of it.

But Minthara can't go home. There are no gods left for her. She's a traitor unto Lolth, and she knows exactly what her greatest adversary (her mom) is capable of. She could skulk in the shadows of the shadows, find fellow outcasts, build a rebel force... but maybe she bides her time, first, in Baldur's Gate. Maybe she sees an apple ripe for picking in the chaos and the rebuilding. No matter what she does, she needs resources, and she's just been given a key to the market.

You know Ulder and Florrick give what remains of Gortash's yes-men the boot on day 1 plus a lot of patriars and whatever are already dead, so there are plenty of openings among the ranks of the leadership, and who better to fill it than a renowned hero? Not in any official capacity at first (I imagine her just being a menace in a town hall for a while), but once she proves her mettle as a shrewd leader, she quickly earns her way into the council.

Obviously, this flings her back into Florrick's orbit.

Florrick wasn't born yesterday, and she also probably has a 1000-page dossier on Minthara's various war crimes drafted on day 1. She knows what Minthara is up to. Her faith in the city and Ulder's leadership is unshakeable; she does not really find Minthara to be a threat... but perhaps she takes it upon herself to monitor the situation anyway.

And that's where things get a little messy, because they're simultaneously allies and adversaries day-to-day, and they once went through something pretty extraordinary together, and they've already had sex. These are both women who aren't happy unless they're in at least a bit over their head, unless they're being challenged, and having a bit of excitement in their day that is otherwise just endless squabbling, Florrick trying to keep the city on the righteous path so it doesn't fall into corruption yet again, Minthara trying to snatch power bit by bit...

Well I just think they'd have a lot to fuck about, basically.

And considering that Minthara is a known feelings-catcher... while Florrick's love is reserved for Baldur's Gate and Ulder** even though she shares her body with Minthara... there's a lot to feels about, as well.

**I'm on the fence headcanon-wise if I want Florrick to actually be somewhat in love with Ulder and simply at peace with it not being mutual/sexual, or if she's simply a very devoted friend and Minthara's jealousy is irrational.

Hmm. This is a tough one, only because I can see it both ways.

If we're going solely off of his canon character, I imagine he'd be just a fan. I think he'd attend all the shows, help Eddie with his eyeliner before he goes on stage, and drag Robin and Nancy to every single gig. He'd make signs, brings flowers, and wear CC merch 24/7. Total supportive boyfriend, for sure. He loves seeing Eddie in his element (and especially loves the sex they have afterwards when he's still high on the performance adrenaline).

However (and I like this idea just as much), if we're going slightly OOC and really playing up the baby girl energy--he's 10000% joining the band.

Steve would start out as a devoted groupie, make eddie fall stupidly in love with him, hook-up with him backstage, and once eddie finds out steve can sing (really well), they sign him on as a fully-fledged member of the band. and steve wears some pretty wild stuff on stage. he loves to tease the audience, loves to press up close to eddie while he shreds on the guitar, loves to flash his lace panties "accidentally" for the crowd. loves feeling eddie's cock swell up against his ass when he leans his head back on his boyfriend's shoulder to sing the song he wrote about him. he's a gorgeous, high energy mess of lace, leather, glitter, and gloss. and eddie can't help but be completely infatuated and transfixed by him. encourages steve to push the envelops even further by fingering him on stage while he tries to hit a high note--he's not wearing any panties under his skirt so they get quite the view...

Not all of them are nice bc I cannot be dragged away from the angst but most of them are!!

Valtor is legally a ward of Light Rock and will be until he turns 18 and competes in his rehabilitation. I imagine that Light Rock is actually a nice place, the Trix just did not jive with it or the concept of becoming better people. He does therapy at the compound, and his favorite type is art therapy. Valtor really likes it there with his 76 well trained older brothers who are also technically guards

He picks up a bunch of different hobbies at Light Rock. He loves all the activities. They introduce him to theater and it goes exactly like you expect. He LOVES it, and invites the winx et al to all of his shows. He loves the costumes and dramatics about it, and eventually he's listening to Stella talk about types of stitches so he can make his own clothes too

You know those magic limiters the Trix wore on their foreheads at Light Rock? Valtor wears one but he can break it and take it off whenever they want. They're still trying to find a way to actually limit his magic, at some point Valtor got involved in the process

People were first really worried that Valtor could take off the magic limiter whenever he wanted but it slowly became clear that he's perfectly content to stay put so eventually no one cares. The Light Council even gives permission for Valtor to use his magic eventually, despite the fact he's supposed to be limited

Valtor was the one who told Bloom how to get to Obsidian. Like he was there when that happened and he spent all his time after the Ancestrals got trapped trying to get them out so he can just tell the Winx

He obviously doesn't go with them, just because he has the ability to use free will and the obedience built into his essence is now gone doesn't make him immune to mind control spells and he'd rather not. He also REALLY never wants to be face to face with Belladonna ever again, Icy was bad enough tbh

When Bloom puts her hacks powers back where they belong (in Domino) and becomes a normal ass (still stupid powerful, shes related to Daphne AND part of fire mixed with her magic at this point) fairy, she has to learn how to fight like a normal person instead of abusing the fact she doesn't get magic exhaustion. She spars with/around Valtor, primarily because as the Wizard of Magic he can tell her when she's getting exhausted bc she doesn't notice

When the Winx practice group combat they usually spar with Valtor too, who is ecstatic to spend time with the Winx AND use his magic, and they're all there like "if you didn't pull your punches for most the year and have an obvious exploit in your design (aka if you were a nomral born person) we would of never won."

Valtor is technically transformed 24/7 and can straight up die from magical exhaustion. Unlike other magic users who would just detransform, collapse, and pass out, he's far too sustained by his magic to survive without it. This is one of the said design flaws that could be used to defeat him, please note how both this and ripping his elemental components apart would both kill him

He's a kid but he's the WIZARD OF MAGIC, literally anything that's magic is under his domain and he absolutely treated their fights as games bc he COULD curve stomp anything. Belladonna wasn't fucking around when she created him

He still considers Bloom his sister after she gives up her HAXXS that makes her magic feel like his. Bloom thinks this is adorable and takes him out for family time. Valtor looks forward to whenever anyone comes to visit him, especially when he gets to leave the compound (it's nice there but he's used to having access to a lot more space) but especially when Bloom does it

Magic attaches to symbols easily, and Valtor made his mark to make really complicated magic (like Witch magic mind control and Fairy magic power boosting) easier on himself. He made the symbol at like 4ish and has been using it since. Sometimes he makes the symbol from his hands when he just shoots magic at the problem bc he thinks it looks cool

Eventually Helia takes over administration over RF from Saladin Valtor likes to hang around the place and he gets to help out with combatting magic lessons! Exciting for Valtor, terrifying for literally all the students. Riven and Diaspro tend to be around™ bc Helia harasses them into being around and they do not help the situation. The staff at RF uses Valtor to haze the freshmen. Valtor eventually notices this and is stuck between intentionally freaking them out and not wanting people to be afraid of him

Bby Valtor is Belladonna's biological son, no father. He's made from a combination of all the elements instead of just fire and his true form is more uncanny and otherworldly instead of chthonic looking. A very strong "I shouldn't be looking at this" energy, his appearance sets off the flight or fight response but it's not incomprehensible or anything. He's still humanoid it's just when you're a creature closest in make-up as all 5 of the gods of your world you end up looking weird. Still dragon looking tho

Nabu comes around often to just chat with Valtor about his magic. As a scholar Nabu is thriving asking questions about Valtor and Valtor loves the attention, everyone else is a little concerned if Nabu should be getting child that nearly took over the dimension thinking about how to use his magic more efficiently but it's fine. Valtor is a good kid now

Btw if the planet of Espero (where dimension wide government buildings are hosted, including Light Rock) was ever attacked....no it wouldn't be <3 Valtor would put an end to that shit so quickly it wouldn't even be a fight

okay so bear with me here, but i just wanted to lay my personal opinion down on this because other opinions have been expressed regarding this and i didn't really say my piece on this specific part yet.

im not trying to drag lj down here, or bring this back up for her to be dragged. i just want to state my piece here in regards to the conversations we've been having since last night.

regarding the conversations that have been occurring on this blog in the past 24 hours about lj and katie's behaviour, and with lj's wc behaviour being brought up, i said that (and i quote) "the lack of apology irked me the most! that and how the attention was directed to racial abuse." and "the fact that such a key issue wasn’t even touched upon is frankly extremely disappointing from the lionesses, chelsea, and lj herself."

i honestly still stand firm in my stance and here is why.

i've attached the two main apologies i've found, one from the lionesses, and one from lj (her tweet).

the reason that i personally am not satisfied with the response and why i said lack of apology, is because i feel that the words said were not enough. yes sorry was said. yes, it mentioned the actions and remorse that lj felt. but for me, 'really sorry' doesn't cut it. that combined with 'wholly out of character for her' doesn't sit right with me.

we know this isn't out of character. and personally, actions speak louder than words, and the immediate walk out without a single change in facial expression when the incident originally occurred + every. single. time. it has occurred since is insane. this isn't a one time behaviour. being 'really sorry' doesn't cut it. yes you can respect another player and whatnot, but if you're going to let your emotions consistently negatively dictate how you treat them on the pitch, and it being with anything other than respect, that is where i don't see the apology being more than pixels on a screen meant to placate the (rightfully) enraged public.

could i see it a fit apology if action was taken to prevent this from happening again in the future? abso-freaking-lutely!!

but that's the issue for me. nothing has changed. literally nothing.

i caught part of the city vs chelsea game that occurred a few days ago, and as the clock got closer to the end, it was clear how each of lj's tackles and shoves got more and more dangerous. heck, she absolutely bodied a player in the air when it was unnecessary. that could've ended so poorly and im glad it didn't, but i digress.

i'm thinking of the walti incident because its the first that comes to mind as an arsenal fan. the clearly placed stomp. the indifferent look. the walkout without a single hesitation or look of remorse. that isn't the behaviour of someone who is sorry for their actions. that behaviour then isn't 'out of character'.

so then coming back to lj's apology. is she really sorry? or is she sorry it was caught? that too at such a big stage? and where was the attempt to 'learn from my experience'? because honestly? i don't see it.

and i don't doubt there's been more instances like this, ones that i haven't seen (i don't watch chelsea games that often, the timing of most wsl games isn't convenient for me since many occur from 4-7 am and i have commitments during the day). but they seem to be a reoccurring theme.

so yes. there was an apology issued. no i don't think it was a good apology in the least and the behavioural aspect wasn't touched upon. the incident was treated like a one off occurrence (which it clearly isn't).

this all gets furthered by the fact (and i can't rmb who so please forgive me and educate me here if possible), but it was either chelsea or the lionesses that released a statement about racial abuse.

now, i'm not disagreeing that racial abuse occurred, and im definitely not saying that it was okay.

it wasn't okay. racial abuse is never okay and never will have a space in the football that i know of (or anywhere for that matter). period. full stop.

and so yes, i agree with their statement. but to me, it felt as if the red card situation was brushed under the rug.

now, don't get me wrong. racial abuse is totally is extremely important and should be kept to a zero in any situation whatsoever and im glad there was a statement released regarding that matter.

but i recall that when i read that statement, i personally felt as if it was more of a deflection than a stance, and that is what didn't sit right with me.

now, i could totally be wrong there. i understand there's a innumerable amount of perspectives here. i'm merely going off my opinion and what i felt when reading that statement. everyone had a different experience/reaction to it and i can recognize and respect that. all i ask if you respect my take even if you don't agree with it.

(i've lost my train of thought so bear with me if it gets a bit murky here)

but yeah, for me, all of that combined really just made me feel that the apology wasn't adequate, given the severity of the situation.

don't get me wrong. i think lj's is a generational talent. i really do. her footwork, her body feints, her ability to score rockets and find pockets of space that barely exist for more than a second is absolutely insane!

but while i can recognize she's a fantastic player, i don't have to be satisfied with the apology she gave during those times. and i'm not.

is it a weird line to balance for me? 100%. it is something i think about quite often to be honest.

as someone who likes to say they have a concrete set of morals, ethics, values, and whatnot that i like to follow, this is tough for me to navigate. it's very much in the grey area and the lines do get blurred.

im astonished by lj's skill level, but i can't find it in myself to 'rep' her as a player like i do with my other favourites or players that i think are outstanding.

the behaviour doesn't sit right with me and it influences how i perceive her as a footballer and a person, and that's just the way it is.

so all in all, if you've made it this far: a) congrats on making it through my word vomit! thank you really. b) this is my personal take/opinion. all i ask is you try and understand where i may be coming from before you attack me, should you choose to do so. c) im a barely twenty-smt kid tryna navigate life. this is new territory for me, i'm not perfect and i know it. could i be absolutely wrong? yes. but does this stance feel correct to me right now? yes.

and yeah.

at the end of the day. no, that apology wasn't acceptable in my opinion. you can accept it should you choose to wish so, i just won't be. not yet atleast.

♦ - quirks/hobbies headcanon

i'd first like to say that my life was irreversibly changed the day that someone pointed out will has glasses in his room. so, just keep that in mind.

when / if he starts wearing glasses regularly, i'd like to think that his general fidgeting when nervous would extend to those, too. like, he pushes them up whenever he gets flustered or is trying to lie about something, and it quickly becomes one of his most obvious tells.

i think he'd be fastidious about keeping them clean, too. you will Not catch him slipping!

he has to resort to some... interesting and genius engineering when they inevitably break.

he gets into making little flipbooks out of sticky note pads. (he makes one for dustin about his dnd character and dustin ofc keeps it forever.)

el does the baking and will does the decorating. (that is, if they don't eat all the frosting first.)

people headcanon will as a night owl, but i think he'd be an early bird. i'm taking him being bright eyed and bushy tailed in 3x03 while lucas and mike are dying as my proof.

this one's sad, but i think that will gets more expressive bc he's used to being invisible. so when people Do notice his behavior he's like ??? what?? you can see me? and you actually give a fuck? huh. as if he isn't sitting there rolling his eyes and sighing and throwing himself back against the cushions and exhibiting the saddest most kicked puppy face known to man and literally bursting into tears 24/7 being as subtle as a kick to the face.

1. What’s your favourite sims death? death by vending machine just because that's the only "unique" sim death i've gotten so far lol (it happened to mawar btw but i immediately quit the game bc of obvious reasons)

2. Alpha CC or Maxis Match? i'm personally a maxis mix girl but i loveeeee looking at sims with alpha cc

3. Do you cheat when your sims gain weight? nope :)

4. Do you use move objects? yes. i would not be able to survive without it

How has your “sim style” changed throughout your years of playing? when i first started playing the sims, i was obsessed with making the "perfect" sims with "perfect" lives and would aaalways cheat away negative moodlets or never give them "negative" traits ykwim? but now i just go with the flow at whatever the game throws at me lol it's much fun that way :D also it helps to not stress about the things in game too much, it takes the fun out of it :p

1. Are you named after anyone? Yeah, my second name comes from my great grandmother who was still alive when I was born (though she died when I was around 1) and my third one comes from my godmother!

2. When was the last time you cried? It was either Monday the second October or somewhere later during that week. I did cry on monday, not sure about the rest of the week, I was not in a good head space then.

3. Do you have kids? Nope!

4. What sports do you play/have you played? Oh that's gonna be a funny list: Ballet (I was very young, didn't do it v long thanks to my mum), soccer/Fußball (also not that long), swimming (actually did that for a while competitve), standard dance, judo, aikido, I tried capoera (but being fat didn't help with trying to do the movements slowly - my center of gravity is different), currently I'm trying to somehow get into the shape for parcour

I wanted to be an astronaut and an author when I was young (and also later - at least the author), but my perfect job would be owning a café (and yes I know v already said that, but we are apparently simmilar in that way 😂) and I say owning bc my social skills are horrible and my social anxiety would not help in actually working there myself. I'd call it the "Black Cat Coffee Corner" and it would be a 24/7 book café with large shelves of second hand books, comfy chairs and large baskets of yarn and crochet and knitting needles everywhere. And you can crochet/knit or read while you're there but if you want to take what you crocheted/knitted/read with you you would need to pay for the yarn/book. And. Well. For whatever coffee and stuff you'd consumed.

when I started shipping it if I did: this is tricky bc i feel it laid dormant in me for a long time (basically since seeing that ai love love fanart of near asleep on mello in probably 2008) and there is evidence in my old AO3 history of me having read fic for them as far back as 2014 (???!!!) but i wouldn't say i sincerely shipped them until my late sept 2022 rewatch of DN which. when the photo exchange scene happened i turned to my brother and said “they're in love.” the rest is history ig 🫣 

my thoughts: MANY!!! ship of all time for me ngl 

What makes me happy about them: i really really enjoy the potential for immense tenderness with one another in the wake of lifelong one-sided resentment & competition. also their mutual obsession and horrific PDA charms me. 

What makes me sad about them: oughggghgghg. canon. & mello's inferiority complex / insane abandonment issues but like at the same time those are fun to write about so.

things done in fanfic that annoys me: to be honest i haven't really been reading meronia fic much over the last year except in cases where i know the author. this is just because of like. basic things like constraints on my time. and also bc overall there honestly aren't That many fics that get posted where i Don't know the author (<- chatty to a fault) off the top of my head, things i have seen At Some Point in fanfic that i don't care for:

1) near being infantilized,

2) near being a total pushover,

3) mello being an overly-aggressive asshole / being cruel for the sake of cruelty (this sort of dynamic just doesn't appeal to me for any ship, it's not my thing, but i particularly don't care for it in meronia)

4) near being overtly mean to mello (he is honestly STUNNINGLY kind to mello considering the circumstances in the photo exchange scene).

honestly a skilled author could probably pull off 3 or 4 with a deft and nuanced hand but it still wouldn't be my cup of tea. OH! one more.

5) i don't personally find it interesting or compelling if mello is in a straightforward position of substantial power over near / if everything just goes mello's way. it's too dissimilar to canon for the dynamic to resonate with me personally and gets rid of mello's underdog status entirely, which is kind of his whole thing. 

things I look for in fanfic: this one is tough because i do just mostly read stuff by people i know and by like. smallestbird. hgdhgshdghs if i was going to look for fanfic though, i think i would look for: nuanced dynamic, "no archive warnings apply" (just my personal tastes for meronia & my inability to do angst), and an interesting premise / summary (this is so so vague sorry but summary is the top determining factor in whether i click on something or not). 

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: NO ONE! sorry. matt in an OT3 tho <3 

My happily ever after for them: either working together as L, near working as L while mello is his sexy unemployed boyfriend, or something entirely unrelated to being L (ideal but harder to imagine). i tend to imagine them staying in new york city, probably traveling for cases occasionally, and being attached at the hip 24/7 

who is the big spoon/little spoon: near is the little spoon mostly but imo this is flexible  

what is their favorite non-sexual activity: tbh i think they would both like museums a lot!! reading also (& probably discussing whatever it is they're reading). i think they also just spend a lot of time talking about a wide variety of subjects (because i'm me this includes math)

my thoughts: none! honestly i have zero original thoughts abt them i just enjoy my mutuals takes 

What makes me happy about them: when. something good happens in a mutuals fic of them, 

What makes me sad about them: when something. bad happens in a mutual's fic of them, [also canon obvi] 

things done in fanfic that annoys me: impossible to answer as my reading for them is limited to beautiful geniuses but i will say i don't find ultra-mean characterizations especially compelling for any ship or character 

things I look for in fanfic: my mutuals names as the author 

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: i vibe with mattlight, sometimes matsulight (this is another "i'll read it if i like the author's other stuff" kinda deal), lawmane, and beyondlaw <3 

My happily ever after for them: honestly i'm charmed by a pretty basic domestic setup for them ngl sorry. i am fundamentally  a boring person and have never claimed to be anything else
