So here’s the thing. Bruce didn’t know that Dick was infatuated with him at first - but Alfred did. And he was less than amused.

There was a brief point in time where Bruce obviously spoiled Dick, letting him sleep in his bed and allowing him to affectionate towards him. Before this point Bruce only thought of Dick as a child, and thought nothing of it. 

Alfred had to pull him aside and explain that even if he meant no harm to the young man, Master Richard is too old for their interactions to appear innocent to an outsider. Naturally, Bruce was mortified at the suggestion. He’s devoted too many years to ensuring Dick’s safety to take advantage of him like that. 

... But now that it was brought to his attention, Bruce couldn’t help but see it. The way Dick’s eyes would linger on him, the way he preened under Bruce’s praise. The nail in the coffin was the expression on Dick’s face when he caught him kissing Selina in his study. Like the young man’s heart would shatter at any second.

There were no two ways about it. Bruce had to put up boundaries fast. He needed to discourage Dick’s affections, before they crossed anymore lines and risked hurting the young man. Bruce started staying out at night and forced Dick to sleep alone. Bruce also started to become cold and distant, trying to put as much as he could between them.

... Unfortunately, this sudden shift in attitude is what  started to drive them apart, leading up to Dick’s encounter with Zucco and culminating to the young man’s firing.  

And to make things worse: Bruce couldn’t deny that he craved being close to Dick more than anything.

Johnnie Frost

Hi there! Thanks for checking out this page for Johnnie!. First of all, mun is 21+ living in Sydney Australia. I’ve played iteration of Johnny Frost before, and they continue to be one of my favorite characters to roleplay with as there is a lot of personality to have free reign over. I am comfortable writing in many different styles and am happy to play with anyone, not just limited to the DC universe.

Johnnie has spent her whole life in Gotham. Her father was a low-life drug dealer and her mother was his biggest client. Johnnie learned to be street-smart while growing up in the Narrows, power was often shifting between the biggest and the strongest, and Johnnie knew she wasn’t going to be either, so she settled for being the smartest. It was easier to throw punches when it wasn’t actually her own fists doing the hitting, and it was easier to stay pretty when her face wasn’t on the line, but Johnnie wasn’t saved every time by her smarts.

Drugs were an easy way to bribe people, that meant cash flow, and as Johnnie worked her way through the Narrows, more people found life was a little easier running with Johnnie than against her. As time passed, Johnnie wanted more than the squalor of the Narrows, Gotham was a large place, and there were certainly many who could use her talents.

Johnnie became one of the largest employers of thugs in the city, the lowest of the low coming to her for jobs, keen to get cash for another score, not minding if part of their fee went to Johnnie. She had thugs for every occasion, size, muscle, smarts, even a small roster of metahumans for special occasions. Penguin, Riddler, Freeze, all knew they could simply call Johnnie for a quick heist team, or some idiots to distract the batman.

However, Johnnie got bored simply hiring out thugs, she had money, a certain degree of power, but nothing of real substance, that’s when she met the Joker. He wasn’t looking to take over Gotham, he wanted to cause chaos, upset the order, something Johnnie had desired ever since she was growing up in the Narrows. She already upset the order by doing what she did, but Joker was so much more than that, she had the skills to help him, and when he didn’t seem to mind having someone take care of the more practical side of chaos, Johnnie found reward in her work, helping Joker silently, more than happy to let him take the fall over and over, after all, she was always ready to do the pickup rounds at Arkham when needed.
