wtf is going on between dream and quackity??? I looked it up but I'm seeing so many different opinions from people 😓 what's going on and will I have to pick sides? I'm just so confused by this whole thing 😭

oh anon what rock have you been living under (and can you take me there)

this got kind of long bc a lot has happened and it's been kind of slowly building up over a month, and i kind of used this as an excuse to do something i've been wanting to do and make a rough timeline of events, so hope you don't mind the incredibly long post. it has certainly been An April (/neg) around here.

march 10th- quackity announces the big project he’s been teasing, the qsmp, a minecraft server with both spanish and english creators. dream puts out a priv tweet the same day saying he’s been working on something similar to collaborate with worldwide creators and he’s mentioning it bc he doesn’t want people to be worried about copying once it’s announced (this is foreshadowing)

april 2nd- dream announces the united smp and its accompanying live translation mod with a video and a tweet. small note here that the video was originally supposed to be an april fools video at first, which is why the international creators are skinned as the different manhunt members, but was delayed by a day bc editing took longer than expected. discourse starts near immediately as drantis are quick to accuse dream of copying q's idea of a multi language server

april 3rd- quackity announces that a new live translation mod is being implemented in the qsmp. copying accusations are now coming from both sides. note that it has been 1 day since the usmp announcement, so the chance that q actually developed a mod in that time is basically zero. also note that dream said he’d been working on the usmp prior to knowledge of qsmp’s mod being public. this is confirmed by snapchats dream posted later this month of camera roll screenshots of photos of a whiteboard with brainstorming for the usmp with the date march 8th visible, which is prior to the qsmp announcement. the point i’m trying to make here is that the most likely explanation is that it's a big damn coincidence

on this day there was also a brief copypasta started by george and sapnap joking about the similarities between the two servers (the first multilingual smp with live translation). george goes live with the smp from his copypasta tweet (slutsmp) and several ccs join throughout (during the stream its implied he basically @/everyone-ed the entire dsmp discord). he makes several shady comments but at this point its unclear if hes memeing quackity, the fans making drama out of the situation, or both

kind of skipping over a few weeks here bc its a lot of the same Nothingness but basically: discourse continues to spiral, egged on by the fact that dream has continued interacting with/mentioning quackity but is met with radio silence from the other side. there are a few clarifications from dream on twitter during this period that the qsmp and usmp are separate concepts and that he does not hold any ill will towards q

april 24th- while already somewhat assumed after quackity announced the qsmp's translation mod, quackity officially announces that the qsmp will be adding worldwide creators

april 27th- dream drops this thread which i highly recommend reading for yourself bc it gives a lot of context. tldr: quackity hasn't responded to dream despite multiple attempts to reach out, from both dream and other mutual friends. dream doesn't know what's going on with him but doesn't want any more hate to build between their two fanbases. he is explaining this because he feels he should explain his motives/give context as hate has built up to the point of irl threats to himself and his family's safety. he says that he is changing the concept of usmp slightly so there is less competition between the 2 servers and reiterates that he doesn't want any hate sent to quackity and that he's proud of all he's done

radio silence from quackity for this whole day, and then:

april 28th- quackity goes live on twitch. he says nothing about it and announces the new brazilian creators for the qsmp

and that's... kind of where we're at? q has continued being active on qsmp and social media and has said nothing, mutual friends are continuing to interact with quackity, and we've kind of reached a weird stalemate.

there's also some small bits of context that are more on the fandom side of things as to why a lot of ppl aren't supporting quackity anymore, so i'll (semi-briefly) try to explain those here:

during all this a mod on the qsmp was (rightfully) called out for including a mob that portrayed incredibly racist stereotypes of indigenous people. q did eventually remove the mod after public pressure but his apology/explanation of the situation was incredibly lackluster, and he didn't address any of the server members who made racist comments about the mob or after the mod's removal. this soured a lot of people's opinion of quackity/the qsmp in general.

second thing is just general vitriol between the two fandoms. qsmp fans/quackity solos were already being nasty at the start of the month, and that only built as the month continued. i saw at least one instance of a fan supposedly being doxxed and having someone show up to their house over the drama, and heard of ppl having gore/photos of self harm sent to their dms (so y'know. classic toxic twitter fandom bullshit). i will say that the toxicity has recently somewhat risen on the dteam side of things as well, with people being a lot quicker to hate on ccs still interacting with quackity and generally being super neg abt q (tho i can't act like some of that anger isn't slightly warranted. hell, i've been super angry over this and i used to be a super big fan of quackity). a lot of people are disappointed in q's silence over this whole issue and believe that it is quackity's responsibility to at least publicly denounce the doxxing/threats being made by fans in defense of him, especially as it's something that dream has already done, both prior to this situation and during.

as far as "picking sides" goes... a lot of ppl here on dtblr have been doomposting for a while, and at this point quackity is basically in no one's good books. at the same time, most of the rational people i follow have been acknowledging the nuance of the situation, and that a lot of mutual friends may be caught in the middle right now (shit dude, you're talking to a foolish main and that dude's still on quackity's damn server). there's also the matter of dream basically asking people to stop fighting, which at this point i am very inclined to agree with due to the levels of discourse and toxicity that we've already gone through, plus i think it's a better alternative than the community self-cannibalizing any time someone mentions quackity

ultimately it's up to you to decide what you want to do with this info and how much you want to remove yourself/unstan ccs, but know you aren't alone if you're sad/disappointed about how this whole thing has panned out 🫂 it has certainly been quite the Month around here

sorry for the long post, but tumblr keeps cropping these terribly.

Anyhow ! I now have commissions open! All prices in USD, all payments through PayPal because i do not have anything else, half payment up front, etc. Here's a TLDR of my options and prices in case the images won't load or you just don't wanna see examples for some reason:

-Full Body Sketch - $5 with an additional $3 charge for each character you add beyond the first one

-Character Bust - $5 if coloured, $3 if uncoloured, and an additional $3 charge for each character added

-Coloured Character Sketch Sheet - $10, if you don't want colour it's $5

-Detailed Rough Sketch - $10, includes background, additional $5 for each character added

-Monochrome Comic - $30 per page - and I am. not going to wedge more than like 10 panels on a standard page, though nonstandard page sizes are fine--the comics are more flexible pricewise.

-Full Colour Comic - $50 per page - same as the monochrome comic, it's negotiable

-Full Rendered Painting w High Detail - $50, includes background, additional $10 charge per added character

-Full-Colour Meme - $15 with an additional $5 charge for each character added

-Rendered Sketch - $15 + $5 background + $5 per each character added (this is a coloured sketch with minimal rendering done)

-Full-Painted Sketch - $25 + $10 per added character + $7 background -- This is basically a cheaper version of the full-rendered painting. Less pizzazz, still pretty nice.

Since I am currently unemployed you can expect relatively fast turnaround on these, and of course if anything comes up I will communicate with you on it!

And, these are going to be open for pretty much the foreseeable future. I'll edit this post if there's any temporary closures for any reason. But for now I aim to do this as long as I possibly can.

eeby deeby origins

Update: now with image descriptions courtesy of @better-image-descriptions ! TLDR at the end

So basically i was going to make a post explaining eeby deeby, but then I was doing Meme Research and discovered that my previous claim that the elevator eeby deeby meme and the “your dick cold” eeby deeby meme are unrelated is actually false!

So, if you look up eeby deeby you will be taken to this Know Your Meme page, which may confuse you more, and seems completely unrelated. basically the eeby deeby meme documented here was someone editing a comic panel to make a joke about robot penises? the “eeby deeby” here is supposed to be like, robot noises or something.

EDIT: it turns out this is a comic of Buck Rogers, which had a TV show in the 70s. The robot here, Twiki, apparently makes an “eeby deeby” noise a lot (usually written out as “bidibidi”). I found a clip of this on youtube here. (thank you to @accumulus for this information!)

update 2/13: I think i found the original panel (put link to post here):

The current eeby deeby meme originated from this image of a weird elevator display:

So i was like “ok these things are unrelated it’s just that they happen to contain the same nonsense phrase”.

But then I tried to find the original post of the elevator image, so I googled “where the fuck is this thing taking me” and got this tweet from 2018:

This appears to have been its own meme, but I haven’t heard of it before today. Seeing as these photos are identical except for the text display, the eeby deeby image is an edit of the UwU elevator joke. Edit 2/18: There is more to the UwU elevator meme than I have here, and this photo is probably an edit as well, but this post has honestly gotten long enough already so I’m not including much about it, even though I probably should. This post has gotten to the point that several old versions are the more circulated ones (a lot of people are reblogging it without the info about Twiki) so I guess it doesn’t matter.

So I reverse image searched the eeby deeby elevator image: (sidenote: look at what happened when i did:)

And I got some weird results but I found an important result from imgur! Note: as of when I am making this post (Feb 6 2021), the eeby deeby meme only showed up on tumblr like 5 days ago.

I’m gonna be honest, I don’t know how Imgur works (as in how to properly navigate it and what the site’s culture is, I just know how one would use it to post images on a petsim forum), so I have not been able to find the original eeby deeby elevator post. I did, however, find this post, but it is not by onewallpaperaweek. It’s also newer than one MetaPathos posted, so it’s definitely not the original. I also found these two posts by MetaPathos about the spread of Eeby Deeby, so I suggest checking them out. x x.

Good question! I don’t really know how to find out where the jokes about eeby deeby started because tumblr’s search function sucks eggs, but a reblog of what appears to be the first time eeby deeby elevator was posted on tumblr (Feb 1 2021) that combines “you are going to brazil” with eeby deeby was posted on Feb 2 2021:

There’s text over it saying, “You are going to eeby deeby”. /End ID] EDIT: In an earlier version of this post, I said that this was related to the superhell meme, but upon Further Research it’s most likely more closely related to “You Are Going To Brazil”. Shoutout to @can-you-maybe-chill’s tags for making me realize this wasn’t in fact the case. Update: @the-jade-palace has since confirmed that this was not a superhell joke, but in fact a “You Are Going To Brazil” joke.

I, and many others, mistook this for a reference to the superhell joke because I had not actually seen the episode or full scene, and had seen this gif posted multiple times in reference to the superhell thing. It is not, in fact, a clip from Supernatural, but a clip from the movie Spawn, which... I don’t know much about but I found the clip of this scene in this youtube video (put link here) and the movie looks rather strange. Seeing as the superhell joke is very popular (because it’s funny) and many people thought this gif was from that scene (I have a lot of people in the tags saying “wait it’s not from supernatural” in response to my first update to this post in which I clarified this), I think this may have contributed to the spread of eeby deeby and the establishment of “eeby deeby” as some sort of place.

There is also this post, which I recall as being the first time I saw eeby deeby outside of the original elevator post:

someone on insta asked me why i hate heimerdinger, and i love being given the opportunity to rant, so i’m sharing it here too

reasons are below the cut bc i talk too much

1) when jayce even entertains the idea of creating magic through science, heimerdinger shuts it down immediately. how can he, as a scientist, live by the mindset of “some things are better left unknown” or “it can’t be done so don’t bother trying”?

2) the scene where he sees the impossible, the wonders of literal magic before his eyes, and just goes “well just bc it can be done doesn’t mean you should.” ARE YOU NOT IN AWE?? JUST ADMIT THAT YOU WERE WRONG. this scene cemented my hatred for him and it was like the 3rd time he showed up

3) his surface-level sympathy borders on apathy, he has no empathy for humans and views humanity as a general whole rather than the individuals that currently exist. it’s an interesting character trait, but mostly proves to be annoying when it’s all he complains about

4) everything jayce said when the council retired him: he’s a traditionalist, he lives in the past, every scene he’s in is just him being risk-averse to the point of paralysis. he’s cautious but brings NOTHING to the table

and i understand that jayce isn’t innocent bc, as true as his words are, he’s only removing heimer from office bc he threatened to end the one thing that could save viktor, otherwise jayce would’ve just done this before. but that brings me to 5) heimerdinger literally took in viktor and (possibly) gave him his name, but he’s still willing to throw his life away out of a fear of change. as caring as he might be, he doesn’t form real connections with ppl (until ekko shows him that people need a reason to live in order to survive, god bless ekko). he’s out of touch and wants to save humanity as an endgoal at the expense of humans suffering in the present.

6) also when he visited viktor after learning his prognosis and told him “those who shine brightest often burn fastest.” jfc you don’t say that to a dying man, esp one that just confided in you personally that he fears his work will die shortly after he does. you’re basically telling him he “shined so brightly” for nothing, bc he doesn’t even believe it was worth it anyway. sorry you’re dying my boy, it happens!

7) “but he was right all along, viktor and jayce misused hextech, it was too dangerous to forward with it!” if you heard that radiation causes cancer, are you going to prevent the invention of the microwave?? fear can be healthy, but he was stunting growth as a whole. he wasn’t even right btw, “the public isn’t ready for smth like this.” YOU GUYS LITERALLY INVENTED TELEPORTATION, I THINK THEY CAN HANDLE LIFE-SAVING PROSTHETICS. the public won’t suddenly be More ready if you hide it for 10 years!

Ok lets talk about reposted content.

I’m not someone who likes to dwell on drama, but I honestly think that this shouldn’t be considered as such, because frankly: every single content creator I follow has talked about this issue before. And well, with the realization that most of my gifs are being spread out in twitter like they are freshly baked bread for everyone to share, my annoyance about this subject has only grown bigger over the time, so bear with me here, ok?

My problem is not that they are getting notes based on something thats not theirs, my problem is the lack of respect that these people have for content creators and the free content we put out. As we’ve mention thousands of times: we are not getting paid or anything, we are normal people with school, work or other things to worry about in real life. We dedicate hours in planing, making and perfecting the content we put out, so it shocks me that people are still reposting the content we make; on tumblr even, WHILE TAGGING IT IN OFFICIAL F1 TAGS. If you want something in your blog so badly, it literally costs nothing to press the reblog button; it’s right there, for all to see.

And I know that crediting original posters is something that doesn’t exist in much of the internet: it is built around the belief that everything you see is yours for the take. Think about it: have you ever tried to find the source of your favorite meme or reaction gif? no? because honestly I can’t say i have either. But tumblr is BUILT with the intentions of not having to repost anything: from the search for gifs function, to the tagging system, to the most basic tool we have: the reblog button.

The worst part of all, is that in my case, this person reposted my 100 lewis not even an hour after i had posted my edit. And with one look in that blog, I saw that not only my content was being reposted. Sometimes is straight up making the same post, and other times is doing a “recap of what happened today”. Both things are reposting, stop pretending like it’s not. Questions are bound to roam in my mind, like, do people actually care about the person behind the post you liked so much? and I know that most of you reading will of course say yes. After all, is just a few amount of people reposting (on tumblr), while most of you know how to press a button lmao.

But I guess enough is enough. Please, if you see someone posting a clearly stolen creation, call them out! or send the post to the original poster so they can have a word with them. Also be mindful in what you reblog: trust me, content creators will not put in a post with different sized gifs, different colorings and different caption fonts; usually those posts have gifs that were stolen from a bunch other gifsets. The same goes with photo edits. I know it may be “simpler” than making gifs, but the person that made that edit still spent a lot of their time making the photo look as good as you see it here, and most of the time, they have a distinctive coloring or style. And I’m sure there are still a lot of things i do unconsciously when it comes to sharing and creating, but I honestly think its necessary that we become conscious on these things. I’m really not trying to point fingers or anything, I just think that sometimes we forget about the person behind the edit, so considering these things may help us into moving towards a more ethical way of sharing content, thats all.

tldr; stop stealing content, and be mindful in what you reblog.

now they’re probably the best pairing for talking through their emotions instead of blowing up on each other

they’re both quite opinionated people, and they’ve learnt to navigate that well so fights don’t happen as often

he gets so angry on her behalf

aria was leaning on a pile of books to prop herself up as she leant forwards to try and hang a string of lights on her bedroom wall. renjun walked in, and immediately came to her aid, speaking with a teasing tone. “need a hand?”

aria, without ceremony just elbowed him in the stomach and used his then folded up figure to push herself up higher. “yes, thank you!”

she got hate for that one, but it was all in good fun and renjun was laughing after it

➣ JENO ☾ nori

aria is his princess and everyone else can fight him

like they’re both doyoung’s children, but if it comes down to it he will lay down his life for her

and not even in a romantic way, just a “you’re too precious i have to protect you” kind of way

czennies thought he was in love with her for the entirety of nct 2018 promotions

this boy was hanging off of her at any given second, and there was an edited video of jeno “glaring” at lucas’ back when the taller boy walked away after hugging aria

it was faked, stan twt needs to chill out

he drags her to the gym

he’s basically her big brother? but they’re the same age - its a weird dynamic but they make it work

they’re so LOUD together

not chaotic, but he makes her laugh so hard

dispatch released some pictures of aria one day and accidentally blurred out jeno’s face because they thought he was her bodyguard

is so. so mindful of how long aria spends in the training rooms

like, yes everyone else expects her home before midnight (long story)

but jeno actively makes sure to ask people what time she left the dorm at, and texts her to remind her to take water breaks and to come home at a good time so she can sleep

these two are the creators of so many iconic vlives - they have a bad habit of going live at 1 or 2 in the morning, just doing random things

jeno pulled the camera from aria’s hands. “ari and i,” he looked at her purposefully, “are going back to the dorms because someone forgot to bring the bird seed, and apparently we can’t give bread to ducks anymore.”

*sounds of aria intermittently hitting and scolding jeno ensue*

➣ DONGHYUCK ☾ arichan

the other half of the best friend crew

absolute heathens to be around when they are together

donghyuck is the person aria is closest to, and someone she’d call her best friend (only when she was sure he wouldn’t hear her)

she calls him “the demon child i can’t get rid of” but will, and has definitely pouted when he ignored her for too long

generally aria is a pretty soft spoken person, but not with hyuck around - he brings out all her chaos energy (please pray for the patience of dotae)

the pair have a little tradition of kissing the back of each others’ hands before going on stage for good luck. they can’t even remember how it started, but now its an unnegotiable pre-show ritual

he’s so clingy with her absolutely everywhere its painfully adorable (ಥ﹏ಥ)

interviews? hyuck has a hand on her knee, or if she’s wearing a skirt he’s tucked his hand in between their chairs so she can hold it discreetly. in the dorms? full body tackle onto the couch, where he proceeds to lay on top of her completely.

because of hyuck’s nickname being the sun, and aria always being around him, czennies gave her the nickname “moon” to go with him

fans thought that aria was older than hyuck for a good year and a half before she released her birthday on a vlive, because she’s normally the one tasked with reigning his chaotic energy in during promotions (that is, if she hasn’t already joined him)

but off-camera, aria is absolutely hyuck’s baby there is no disputing that. aria’s sad?he’s there with ice-cream and a blanket and a baseball bat.

the winnie the pooh character that is on aria’s bed was a gift from hyuck for her 17th birthday, after she made him watch seven episodes of the show on netflix with her one night

yes he complained, but he slapped her hand away when she went to change it to something else

a twitter thread of a czennie comparing their horoscopes together went viral when people realized that it was quite plausible that the pair were each others (platonic) soulmates

after an incident involving blueberries, donghyuck took it upon himself to check the ingredients of every. single. food item in their dorm to make sure it was ok for her to eat

hyuck clowns her for her irish accent, and aria curses him out in japanese

tldr: they cute or whatever

FAN FAVOURITE MOMENT.

donghyuck was doing a vlive in his bedroom, sitting and talking to czennies when aria opened the door to his room quietly. she didn’t say anything, just waved slightly with almost closed eyes before she crawled underneath his covers and tucked her plushie underneath her chin. hyuck didn’t even blink at it - so it must have been a regular occurrence.

➣ JAEMIN ☾ nari

jaemin highkey flusters her

not in a oo you’re so cute, cute boy make nerves go eeee

but he’ll wink at her and teasingly compliment her and now she looks like a firetruck this isn’t fair

he absolutely takes advantage of this where ever possible

“riri, can i have some?” “no, i just made these you should have helped me (-_-)” “riri~ but you looked so cute making them i didn’t want to interrupt you~” *aria.exe has stopped responding*

but when aria isn’t trying to get her cheeks to stop being red, they’re really cute together

you’d swear aria is older, by how much jaemin whines for her attention

the mighty battles between jaemin and hyuck

hyuck’s just biding his time for the rooftop fight

kinda panics around her when she’s crying, but is always the first to offer up a hug

has a period tracker on his phone but no one knows about it

he doesn’t like to coddle her because they’re so close in age, but that doesn’t stop him from getting protective in certain situations *cough cough the fansign cough cough*

jaemin and aria cuddling when they’re drunk? more likely than you’d think

he definitely professed his undying love for her at one point while being drunk, and chenle caught it on video

designated blanket/pillow hunter at award shows, and if he can’t find one then he usually just gives her his jacket

the amount of coffee these two consume should be illegal

aria prefers to call him nana and he prefers to call her riri in the dorms, so when either of them get called by their first name by the other it means A: they’re on a schedule, or B: someone’s about to die

nct dream on idol room were trying out jaemin’s death-in-a-cup (his coffee) and as the cup got passed around, aria grew more and more concerned with each face the members made. “jaemin if i die from this-”

he only smiled at her while passing over the cup. aria held it up to look at the black liquid skeptically, before sighing in resignation and bringing the cup to her lips to take a sip.

and then another.

“wait this is good i like this”

➣ CHENLE ☾ leri

hide yo kids and hide yo wives because leri is entering the chat

*cue aria and chenle wearing 2000s rapper clothes with backwards baseball caps*

these two are so chaotically calm

its like the energy cancels out or something

aria with hyuck is just so loud and obnoxious, and the same with chenle with jisung

so when you put those two together it just turns into le positive vibes

you ever meditated to those 132 hertz sounds? thats them in a sound

aria will hold him like a baby kitten she’s expecting to try wriggle out of her grip at any moment and its comical because he’s a good head taller than her

aria definitely has a knack for making her groupmates’ parents fall in love with her

every two weeks or so she goes for dinner in chenle’s house upon his mother’s request

they have a mutual understanding of the mental toll it takes to be around the rest of the dreamies constantly

chenle and aria sitting peacefully, watching a cdrama:

will never admit it but he misses her the most when she goes away to promote

he thinks of her as a big sister and the dorms feel empty without her there

he always gets a little bit anxious when they eat things outside of the dorms because he’s never seen her have an allergic reaction before and he’d like to keep it that way (`皿´＃)

chenle was particularly restless that day, constantly shuffling about in his seat to the point where renjun forcefully tossed an arm over his shoulders to hold him still while the vlive was still playing.

not one to be defeated, chenle then turned to press his lips to renjun’s cheek playfully, laughing when the older boy turned away in disgust. he turned to do the same to aria, coming closer to her cheek before aria turned her head to face his.

if aria could take this boy and wrap him in a blanket and keep him in her pocket she would - no questions asked

jisung knows she loves him the most out of dream sorry markhyuck and takes advantage of it every second

she used to coddle him a lot when he was smaller, but now that he’s older aria tries to rein it in as much as possible

that doesn’t mean it goes away completely though

jaemin and aria are really the only people jisung is ok with seeing him be super emotional - and he flip flops between the two depending on the reason why he’s emotional

self-esteem, feeling poopy side of it all? straight into aria’s bed, letting her roll him onto his side so she can tuck his head into her shoulder and covers the two of them with her duvet the way she used to do when he was shorter

this boy cannot curse around her unless he wants to get his ass Beat

they go so hard in their NCT Dance duet videos

he keeps band-aids in his bag for her in exchange for her keeping an extra bottle of water in hers because jisung always forgets his own

jisung rests his elbow on her head a lot

but only briefly because the last time he stayed there for too long she stamped on his foot

jisung and aria were doing the chicken leg battle (this one) to fight for first dibs on the rooms they were going to be sharing for the next week or so. just before they were about to start, mark started laughing and pointing at how high jisung’s leg came up on aria’s, with aria’s knee barely hitting jisung’s mid-thigh

12: What is one of the most primary things your OC feels that is missing from their life?

Honestly, if Lucas just looks at life in sense of the part of it he's been stuck in the casket (his body) he feels he's had a pretty decent go of it so far even if some of it has kind of sucked (middle school was hell) but he feels like about now he's got a handle on things and he might as well have some fun whilst he can. He likes fun, fun is good (He'll admit he's a bit of a hedonist)

But I think he's def been feeling like he's really lacking in anyone he can connect on a like deep level with. Like he likes being social and has def done his fair share of 'just hanging around and ending up at random places cause there's something going on' but he's found fleeting connections a bit less satisfactory and wants something a little more whether platonic or on a more romantic level.

He wants at least one person who gets him, truly, deeply. He knows that's near impossible due to the whole 'I'm actually an eldritch horror' aspect of his being but you know he just wants something close to a deep connection.

18: What kind of intrapersonal values does your OC have? (values about their self, what makes them feel like a valid person)

He basically likes the fact that he's quite good at reading social situations and that people tend to like him, he's pretty socially confident but chill about it so he's the sort of guy you'd probably find at a party/bar whose sort of vibing but generally down to talk if you wanna talk and he can do pretty good at like propping other people up if he's inclined (He’s adopted introverts at parties for the evening)

He's also got like fairly decent self esteem nowadays which is pretty awesome tldr

26: What is the most intense thing your OC has been battling with?

A fair bit of conflict between trying to not get wrapped up in stuff too much because human lives are stupidly brief, he's an endless being from space, a lot of the stuff humans worry about really doesn't matter but also how actually he still finds he's getting wrapped up with it and oh no he might actually kind of like it down here and there's at least a couple of people he cares about

Also the occasional bouts of like ‘im quite literally stuck in the wrong body’ dysphoria suck and just the frustration of being an immense cosmic being shoved into such a small casket at times.

Rambling about LOKI

I already made my annoyance clear about this on my twitter (@dy5funkti0na1 ;) ) But I wish to ramble properly. Beware of spoilers from ep 1 -4.

FIRST OF ALL, the entire basis for the show bothers me. The TVA, while a hilarious meme, is a completely tired trope that’s been done a million and a half times before. Sure it gets slightly edited but it’s like copying someone’s homework and rewording the essay questions. It’s not great. Marvel is an innovator, so watching them fall back on something so run to the ground to get out of their own plot holes is a little sad. Not to mention the fact that every. single. time. someone remakes the “Time Overlords that oversee everything” trope, they always have a 50′s/60′s technology theme. What is up with that???? Aren’t they removed from time??? Don’t they have access to any technology from anywhere in the timeline??? I don’t get it man.

Second issue: pruning. What is it? I understand that it’s essentially killing a person by erasing any trace of them from their timeline, but if a new timeline is created with every single choice, then aren’t there infinitely many Variants? And infinitely many tasks for the TVA? And wouldn’t completely erasing every trace of a Variant also remove them from all of their correct decisions and basically just create a new issue? I get how it works but there is so little thought put into it and so little explanation, it’s just been bugging me.

Third issue: Marvel doing things out of character as a gag. This isn’t just in Loki but I wanted to add this anyways. Marvel has developed a habit of doing random things for the laugh factor, which is understandable, Marvel movies are meant to be funny. But going completely out of character to do so is just vaguely irksome enough for me to notice it. Why would Loki’s time jail be that one instance of Sif being miffed at him when HE HIMSELF SAYS “I took a bath, had a glass of wine, and never thought of it again.” It didn’t affect him or his psyche at all. With a character that has canonically been through so much trauma, why would the TVA try to emotionally manipulate him through him ??? getting scolded???? He literally grew up feeling unloved and unwanted only to find out he was adopted which confirmed his suspicions that he was different from his family and pushed him further into his feelings of being ostracized from everyone he knew. Not to mention Odin, mister Father of the Year. It happened in Loki, it happened in Endgame, it happened in Wanda Vision, and it’ll likely continue to happen. It’s just annoying at this point.

Fourth Point: Sylvie and Loki. I honestly don’t even know where to start here. Not only did Marvel make a point to establish both of these characters as bisexual, but they also made it clear through episode three that NOTHING WAS BETWEEN THEM. They are funky little dudes with wacky space hijiinks and nothing more. Then, the writers couldn’t figure out a way to get them off the planet and decided to twist some love plot? It makes zero sense. Not only is it disgustingly heteronormative and poorly written, it shouldn’t even work. The point of hiding in apocolypses is that they cannot start a nexus event by being there, because everyone will die either way. Them awkwardly holding hands shouldn’t be enough to tear the Sacred Timeline to smithereens. They had no romantic involvment at all and now we are meant to believe that Loi, a character who has never had a canonical MCU relationship and was heavily implied to have flirted with the Grand Master to gain his position (evidence of him only using that relationship for his own gain) is magically infatuated with the alternate version of himself?? It’s like incest but weirder. The show took the only male/female combination they could get their grubby hands on and made them like each other like a little girl making barbies kiss. It’s terrible, and casts total doubt on the massive deal that was canon bisexuality.

TLDR: Wanda Vision was better and this show is a poor attempt at covering the Endgame plot holes. At this point the only things keeping me invested are spite, the potential for nonbinary Kid Loki, and the damn Alligator. Marvel totally dropped the ball on this one.
