Luckily Seonghwa had already yelled back at Wooyoung and no one heard beside the two of them and Mingi who were beside them, laughing

She was so proud of herself for succeeding

When they played those trivia games, she was impressed at how much they knew

And when he began stomping and drooling, she was in LITERAL TEARS from laughing so hard

The dynamic between the two is seriously amazing

Anyways when it was her turn, the did did rock paper scissor to see who had to go again w/ her

The boys huddled around and Amanda stood on a chair to see bc these boy are all FREAKIN TALL

She was standing behind Hongjoong and sent signals to the rest of the boys to all play paper so Hongjoong could lose and play with her

Hongjoong was so oblivious and fell for it💀💀

Hongjoong: YA! DID YOU ALL PLAN THIS?!

The members: Noooo! Of course not☺️

Someone save Hongjoong from the members

Anyways they decided to go one at a time

Hongjoong being the gentleman he is went first

he really just failed to convince Amanda to go first💀

Amanda being the little devil she is, sneakily put her hand in the box when Hongjoong was trying to work up the courage to put his hand in

And when Hongjoong finally put his hand in the box Amanda quickly held onto his hand

Hongjoong fling his arm out so fast and jump back

Amanda:🥺🥺 whyy you don’t want to hold my hand…..😈

Seonghwa: You guys got to hurry up!

The way the two forgot they were being timed

Her and Hongjoong took it out of the box before the others could only to see it was mint chocolate ice cream

Amanda is against mint chocolate ice cream

Mostly bc she doesn't like chocolate in general

They started getting into a heated debate about mint chocolate AGAIN

The editing team had to cut it out💀💀

But while they were arguing Amanda is sitting back at the desk quietly munching on some of her candy from her purse

When they blow out the candle for they cake and she blow air into Jongho hair instead

Anyways Amanda really enjoyed the games they played and celebrating their 3rd year anniversary

He nodded his greeting to the other first years before turning to smile down at you as you came up to him. “Not too bad. Hope you’ve adjusted well to campus life?” he murmured, eyes softening.

“I’m okay, don't worry about me. Shared class today, this is my first time. I wonder how it will go?” You excitedly said.

“The usual, you might find it boring. Ah, and I’ve heard that you were given the title Special Grade. Congratulations.” He said.

“Is that something to be celebrated?” you asked while tilting your head to the side. “Thank you though.”

He mimicked you, tilting his head in the same direction and leaning forward so that your eyes were both still in line with each other’s, “It’s proof that you’re strong and that’s also a good thing.”

You hummed in thought. “I don’t really care about rankings to be honest. I just need to be strong enough to protect the ones I love.”

Noritoshi’s eyes slightly widened at that. He was about to speak when he was rudely interrupted.

“TSUCHI CHAN! You owe me a fight.” Todo senpai boomed with Momo sighing tiredly beside him. You jumped about 4 feet into the air at the sound and Noritoshi protectively held a hand in front of you again. “That’s enough Todo. It’s still early in the morning.”

“A fight, or else I will reveal who your ideal type is to everyone here.” He grinned.

Oh no he didn’t. The winds picked up around you as your cursed energy flared dangerously. Everyone except Noritoshi took a step back from you.

You looked up at him with the coldest eyes you have, “You promised you wouldn’t senpai. But I am not backing down from a fight. Don’t cry too badly when I bury you 6 feet underground.”

“There it is! Her dark side.” Miwa cried out. “You’re gonna die senpai.” But Todou just laughed. “I knew you were interesting the moment we met Tsuchi chan. It’s settled. A fight later after class.”

“Todo’s gonna die later. I look forward to seeing it.” Mai yawned nonchalantly as Mechamaru just nodded. Momo just laughed as she settled in beside Mai.

Soon Utahime called you all to attention and you went on with the activities. You were competing with Todo for almost every measurement (with the use of cursed energy of course. You were not so strong without it).

You just laughed at yourself as you found out you had the weakest physical punching power among the first years. Yep, you rely too much on your cursed energy to back you up.

You took your starting position, still determined to keep it under half the speed of sound. “Ready… go!” You whipped around the entire trackfield in just under 3 seconds.

“Tsuchimikado. 2.4 seconds.” You nodded and jogged back beside Miwa who gave you a high five. “That was sooo cool, you need to let me fly with you next time.” She excitedly said.

You laughed. “I’m not the best at holding people with me when I move at high speeds. But slow flying is fine.”

“Why don’t you go faster?” Todo asked. Everyone quieted down as you turned to him. “I have a feeling you've been limiting your output. You’ve obviously been holding back this entire time, are you not taking it seriously? We are here to challenge ourselves, there is no need to hold back.”

Your eye and finger twitched. “That’s not it.” This man was amazing at pushing your buttons. But you sighed as there was no reason to hide it anymore. “Utahime sensei can I-”

But you can feel Todo just silently egging you on from the sidelines. And it honestly worked. “Start!”

"So what if I love your brother. We chose what we wanted secretly all along." Sans flared up when love was mentioned. They never quite got to the confessing yesterday. He remembered only falling asleep in the elemental's embrace. Wow, this was way too much for Sans to handle in two days in row. The smaller of skeleton brothers glanced back, holding back the tears from joy. "y- you love me, grillby?"

"I have loved since you first walked into my bar."

Sans was stunned and Papyrus snorted, turning on heels. "You two make me wanna barf. I am leaving. I expect you to be at your station on time, Sans."

He left, shutting the door like it offended him. Grillby sighed. "I didn't need help, Sans. I would have beaten him. And don't think I have forgotten all the times you came to my bar because of your brother's really bad brotherly instincts, if he has any. I'll have a chat with him soon and next time, I won't have any disturbances. He may be the Head of the Royal Guard, but you are his brother, only family he has left and he shouldn't handle you like you're a stranger or some random monster."

Sans didn't know what to say. He was resented by everyone – thanks to Boss, his head of royal guard position and Sans simply went with it. Grillby cracked a smile, once more gently holding his bony hand. "Sans, I am here for you. From today onward, I share with you pain, sadness, but also hope and love. I'll be by your side." He kissed the skeleton's hand and Sans gasped at the romantic gesture.

He found himself tearing up, unable to hold back the mushy feelings, finally letting them loose. "grillby!" Sans was much shorter than the fire elemental, so he grabbed on the signature red tie and yanked him downwards. A bit startled, Grillby let the skeleton kiss him tenderly. When they parted, Grillby smirked, wiping away the tears. "As much as I like where this is going, we have places to be at. When we're both done, come here. I have a spare key. It's yours."

Sans took the offered silvery key and put it on his key chain and shoved it back into shorts pockets. "I'll treasure it. It's the first thing you gave me."

"And there will be more with more time we spend together. But enough for now. I believe we had hot dogs before your brother rudely interrupted our breakfast. Go to the kitchen and I'll bring the hot dogs and I'll make some eggs and bacon. We are grown monsters and one hot dog won't suffice till lunch break."

Sans nodded and went to the stylish kitchen, stopping at the dining table and taking seat on one of the two kitchen stools. True to his word, he was promptly back with the unfinished plates of 'dogs and set them on table. "I'll prepare the eggs 'n bacon. You just sit back and relax." The elemental said while he put on an apron so he didn't get his suit dirty.

Sans propped elbows on the table and dreamily sighed looking at Grillby in that apron. "did i tell you how hot i find you? and not just because you're fire."

Grillby snickered, cracking the eggs into the frying pan and soon the slices of bacon followed. "I can't tell if you're flirting or making usual fire puns, Sans."

"hmm...maybe both."

Grillby had to be careful not to burn their breakfast, so his attention turned to the frying pan and Sans simply watched his incredibly hot lover who rocked not only suits but also aprons by doing his daily routine for them.

Soon he was done and presented the skeleton with scrambled eggs and crusty bacon that smelled awfully good. Grillby joined him by table and the fire elemental resumed with eating his 'dog. "grillbz, bone appetite."

The elemental chuckled and 'dog got stuck in his throat. Sans quickly handed him a cup of whisky and he drank up. "By Asgore, Sans... hahaha. I'll have to get used to your witty puns."

Sans grinned widely as he finished his last bits of hot dog and dug into the Grillby special. "grillbz? can i ask you a question? tt concerns what you told b – papyrus."

"Did I say something I shouldn't have?"

The skeleton swallowed the mixture in his mouth, the flavor reminded him of childhood and the rare memories of peaceful domestic existence. Ah, good 'ol days...

"Did you mean the soul bonding?"

Grillby positively eyed him. "I meant it. Do you not want to?"

"no, no! i mean, i do. i want that. you're the best that has happened to me, grillby."

"Then? What's the problem?"

Sans put down the fork and avoided to look at the fire elemental. "i am the problem. i seem weak next to you. there will be a scandal and your bar will be in jeopardy... because of me."

He said what was tormenting him all those years when he decided time and time again to not tell the elemental how he felt about him.

Grillby also put down the fork, stood up and went along the table and knelt down to the sobbing skeleton. "Shhh. It's okay. Our relationship won't hinder me in the slightest. When someone gives us grief, I'll simply grill them to dust."

"it's not that simple, grillbz."

"It can be. Come here." He let his skeleton hug him and he was calming down in the warm and loving embrace of the flame that loved him indisputably.

"oh my god. you made a pun." Sans stated after good one minute.

"I am only getting flared up." Now it was Sans' turn to giggle and they disentangled getting back to eating the cold breakfast.

After finishing up their plates, they both checked if they had everything and Grillby brought his skeleton before the front door. Sans wanted to leave alone, but Grillby wouldn't hear nothing about it. "I bet your brother's tongue has already wagged about us in town. Come, I'll escort you to your station. I have half hour before the bar is opening."

Sans grinned. "no need, grillbz. i can be a capable fighter if needed. also, i have a shortcut. can you come closer?"

Grillby leaned down slightly and Sans inserted a chaste kiss on the elemental's cheek, blushing. " see you later. i love you, grillby." The small skeleton winked, snapped fingers and he vanished before Grillby's eyes.

The elemental held the place where the kiss was planted, feeling it burn up. He smiled. "I've known that all along, Sans."

Grillby then left for his bar, counting the minutes before he meets with his adorable skeleton.

Entry #4: Self-editing

For each other.

“H-how dooo…” The sounds aren’t coming out right. “How do-do y-y-youu…”

Thya nodded eagerly. She was helping M’llayan learn to speak and was earning a fruit tart every half hour, but she would gladly spend all day with her for free. M’llayan sighed with frustration and looked down at her feet.

It’s okay. Thya clumsily signed at her. We can try again.

I’ve got customers in about twenty minutes when the lunch rush starts, you know. M’llayan rapidly signed back. Let’s stop here for now and make some sandwiches. Can you help me put the kettle on and boil some coffee?

Thya stared, and M’llayan signed everything again, but much slower.

Their days passed like this, quiet except for their laughter and the hum of customers approaching the traveling bakery. M’llayan would stay here in Idyllshire for another week, and then head down to the port at the mouth of the Thaliak delta with the rest of her caravan to sail to Vylbrand. Thya parked Cherimoya by the chocobos’ watering trough, and M’llayan’s big fat bulldog claimed it as his new bed.

As Thya practiced signing for M’llayan’s sake, M’llayan practiced speaking.

“B-busydeals,” she managed. “Baang…p-pots? Pots. Chocobo!”

Do you want to stop? Thya signed. Little?

I need a godsdamned drink.

At night, after M’llayan flipped the wooden sign at her cart to “CLOSED” and curled together with Thya on their rug, the two of them held each other close and felt for the world around them.

Thya heard:

A bug light clicking

Gobbie chatter

The distant rumbling of the Bangpots.

Bhen the bulldog lapping water from his bowl.

M’llayan softly breathing.

And M’llayan saw:

A moth flitting about her lantern

Her blackened potbellied stove

Loaves of bread in their boxes

Bhen the bulldog drooling onto her fringed gazelleskin rug

Thya’s pale eyes staring at her

“Wh-what?” said M’llayan. “What.”

Thya tried to sign, You’re beautiful, but she paused with her hand in front of her face, forgetting the motion. M’llayan snorted and playfully batted Thya’s ears.

“Go sleep,” said M’llayan. “You…big dumb.”

Shut up. Thya signed, and then she blew out the lantern.

Wat te doen in Groningen? Genoeg. 70 leuke en gekke activiteiten waar je je vrije tijd wel mee doorkomt.

Want of je Groningen bezoekt voor een dag, of hier al jarenlang woont, één ding staat vast: er is hier altijd iets te doen. Zoveel zelfs, dat we met gemak zeventig dingen kunnen noemen die je hier de komende tijd kunt doen. Kijk maar.

1: Een rondvaart maken

Groningen heeft als hanzestad een hele lange scheepvaarthistorie. Tijdens een rondvaart zie je de oude pakhuizen op dezelfde manier als de schippers dat vroeger ooit deden en snap je meer over de rijke historie van Groningen.

2: Op de fiets door de stad

Groningen is fietsstad bij uitstek. Dus waarom niet een fietstocht maken? Onder leiding van een gids, die je ook nog eens van alles en nog wat vertelt? Het kan.

3: Eierballen eten

Groningen zonder de eierbal? Precies: dat zou ondenkbaar zijn. Onze favoriete lokale snack ligt bij elke cafetaria onder het glas (en natuurlijk kun je een eierbal ook heel makkelijk zelf maken).

4: Discobowlen

Hou je van bowlen? Hou je van dansen? Ga dan eens discobowlen. Unieke manier om je avond mee te vullen (we spreken uit ervaring). Te doen in Bowling Centrum Groningen.

5: FC Groningen-stadion bezoeken

Het stadion van de FC staat liefkozend bekend als de Groene Hel en is bovendien een fraai staaltje architectuur. Een grijze kolos, waar naast een voetbalstadion ook ruimte is voor cafés, restaurants en één van de grootste supermarkten die je ooit hebt gezien.

6: Naar het Stripmuseum

Verslond jij vroeger Ollie B. Bommel en de Donald Duck? Dan is het Stripmuseum de place tot be. Jeugdherinneringen ophalen bij strips van vroeger.

7: Een buurtkroeg bezoeken

Nergens leer je de Groningers beter kennen dan in hun stamkroeg. En die zijn er genoeg, want elke wijk heeft er wel een paar.

8: Martinitoren beklimmen

In Groningen is geen gebouw hoger dan de Martinitoren. En je kunt de Martinitoren beklimmen. De 255 treden brengen je op een hoogte van een dikke honderd meter, genoeg om op een heldere dag de Wadden te kunnen zien.

9: Belgische patat uit Groningen kopen

Staat al sinds jaar en dag op de Grote Markt en Vismarkt: de patatkraam van Waterloo. Noemt zichzelf ‘De Belg’, maar komt stiekem gewoon uit Groningen. Komt met lekkere patat in een kenmerkende zwart-geel-rode puntzak.

10: Een terras pakken

Ee’m zitten. Doen wij graag in Groningen. We hebben ze nooit geteld, maar we durven met gemak te zeggen dat er in de binnenstad een paar honderd terrasjes zijn. Zelfs in de winter kun je er goed zitten.

11: Uitgaan tot de zon opkomt

Sluitingstijden? Doen wij niet aan. In Groningen bepalen de kroegen zelf wel wanneer ze dichtgaan. En dus kan het je zomaar overkomen dat je de bar verlaat en ineens ziet dat de markt is opgebouwd, dat de bussen weer rijden en dat de mensen weer naar hun werk toe gaan.

12: De Kardingebult beklimmen

We horen wel eens zeggen dat het Groninger landschap heel plat is. Klopt ook wel, maar de Kardingebult is een uitzondering. Deze aangelegde bult brengt je op 120 meter hoogte, perfect om een selfie te nemen met de skyline van Grunn’n op de achtergrond.

13: Een rit met paard en wagen

Ze zeggen wel eens dat Groningen een groot dorp is. Klopt, want we hebben een paard en wagen. Staat op de Grote Markt en brengt je voor een paar euro waar je maar wezen wil.

14: Vis eten op de Vismarkt

Op de Vismarkt eet je de beste vers gebakken kibbeling met patat. Geen Visliefhebber? Geen probleem. De tientallen marktkraamhouders zorgen dat er genoeg te knagen valt, van de dagelijkse boodschappen tot exotische lekkernijen.

15: Een poezencafé bezoeken

Poezenliefhebber? Komt goed uit want Groningen herbergt niet 1 maar 2 poezencafé’s om uit te kiezen. Thee drinken terwijl een kat op je schoot ligt te spinnen, dat idee.

16: Eten in The Student Hotel

In The Student Hotel bivakkeren honderden internationale studenten voor een periode van vijf maanden of meer. De gasten komen vanaf létterlijk elk continent naar Groningen toe en zorgen voor een inspirerende, internationale sfeer. Ook niet-gasten zijn namelijk welkom om een vorkje te komen prikken in het uiterst internationale gezelschap.

17: De populairste Instagram-locatie van Nederland bezoeken

De Reitdiephaven is de meest gekiekte locatie op Instagram, lazen we op de bestesocialmedia.nl. Niet zo raar, want die kleurrijke huisjes zijn best bijzonder.

18: Koek van Knol halen

Knol’s Koek is een begrip in Groningen en ver daarbuiten. Deze ambachtelijk gebakken lekkernij vind je in zo’n beetje alle supermarkten én in de fabriekswinkel aan de rand van de stad.

19: Straatmuzikant Moti zien

Troubadour Moti kwam dertig jaar geleden in Groningen terecht en is nooit meer verdwenen. En dat is maar goed ook. De zanger/muzikant hoort bij het straatbeeld en is regelmatig te zijn aan het begin en bij het einde van de Herestraat.

20: Een patatje eten op de houten stadstribune

Heb je die grote trap gezien op de Grote Markt? Ja? Noemen wij Groningers de stadstribune. Prima plek om even te zitten met je zakje patat (die je vers scoort op de markt).

21: Chillen op het Martinikerkhof

Het Martinikerkhof ligt in het centrum, op amper een minuut van de Grote Markt. Populaire hangplek voor hipsters en alternatieve jongeren. Languit in het gras, muziekje erbij en chillen met je matties.

22: Naar een kindercafé

Kinderen? Leuk spul. Maar wel een uitdaging als je naar een ‘normale’ kroeg wil, want je loopt toch tegen sommige dingen aan. Hoe verschoon je een luier en waar laat je de kinderwagen? Geen issue bij kindercafe Denderz in winkelcentrum Westerhaven: het hele café is ingesteld op ouders met kleine kinderen.

23: De tuinen in de Prinsenhof bekijken

De drukte ontvluchten en toch in het centrum blijven? Loop dan eens naar de tuinen van het Prinsenhof, onder Groningers ook bekend als de Prinsentuin.

24: Een pannenkoek eten op een boot

Wij denken dat er geen Groninger is die er níet als kind kwam: het Pannekoekschip op het Schuitendiep. Grote pannenkoeken, naar wens klaargemaakt met zoet of hartig, afhankelijk van je voorkeur.

25: Een stadswandeling maken

De geheimen van de stad openbaren zich tijdens een stadswandeling. Een ervaren gids vertelt over de verborgen geheimen van de grootste stad in het noorden en vertelt je de dingen die zelfs geboren en getogen Groningers niet weten.

26: Een bandje kijken in de Vera

Concertzaal Vera is dé plek waar de underground komt kijken naar allemaal uiteenlopende gitaarbands. Legendarische bands als U2 en Nirvana traden er ooit op, en dus kan het zomaar zijn dat je er een bandje ziet die ergens in de toekomst flink gaat doorbreken.

27: De kroeg in

Cafés genoeg. Meer dan honderd. De hotspot is de Poelestraat, maar daar houdt het natuurlijk niet mee op. Er zijn genoeg leuke straten in Groningen met de meest unieke cafés.Waarvan wij vinden dat je de Grote Kleine Elleboog toch zeker een keer gezien moet hebben.

28: Urenlang wandelen in het Stadspark

Het is ons ooit eens gelukt om een uur door het Stadspark te lopen zonder iemand tegen te komen. Niet dat het park niet populair is. Integendeel. Maar het is groot. Héél groot. Ruim aangelegd, ruim voorzien van veel kronkelpaadjes om op te verdwalen en een mooi paviljoen in het midden.

29: Naar de kinderboerderij

Helaas hebben we geen dierentuin. Wel een kinderboerderij. Meerdere zelfs. Tips van de redactie: het Stadspark, Vinkhuizen en Ulgersmaborg zijn drie van de mooiste en ruimste kinderboerderijen die er zijn.

30: Een Gronings biertje kopen

Ja, er is Gronings bier. Meerdere biertjes zelfs. Loop een gespecialiseerde winkel binnen, en je ziet ze liggen: Bax, Martinus en Grunnbier. Leuk om een proeverij mee te houden.

31: Een studentenvereniging binnengaan

Wat moet je in een studentenvereniging? Simpel: kennismaken. Sommige studentenclubs openen alleen hun deuren voor leden, maar bijvoorbeeld Cleopatra is een uitzondering. Iedereen kan binnenlopen en ze vinden het nog leuk ook.

32: Wat te doen in Groningen? Poolen!

Een keu, een tafel, een hoop ballen en even ontspannen: het is een prima manier om de middag mee door te komen. Groningen telt een aantal poolcentra, waarvan eentje aan het schuitendiep en een andere in de Peperstraat.

33: Festivals bezoeken

Groningen is muziekstad bij uitstek. En daarom zijn er ook behoorlijk wat festivals in Groningen. Festivals als Noorderzon, Reitdieppop en de vele foodtruckfestivals zijn gratis te bezoeken. Tast iets dieper in de buidel, en je komt terecht op Kadepop of Zomerfolk. Goed toeven.

34: Standbeelden bekijken

In Groningen brengen ruim driehonderd standbeelden het verleden tot leven. Check hier welke standbeelden je verplicht moet kennen.

35: Scheepvaartmuseum binnenvaren

Groningen is een voormalige Hanzestad en heeft een rijke scheepvaarthistorie. Altijd al willen weten hoe de handelaars uit het noorden vroeger hun fortuin vergaarden? Check dan even het scheepvaartmuseum.

36: Pitch ‘n’ put

Een variant op golf waarbij de eerste mep tegen de bal – de full swing – wordt overgeslagen. Je speelt daardoor op een veel kleinere baang en kan gelijk met een halve swing proberen of je de bal in het putje krijgt. Te doen in Kardinge, ook geschikt voor mensen zonder golfervaring.

37: Overdekt winkelen in Paddepoel

Valt de regen je wat tegen? Het centrum van Groningen is niet overdekt, maar dat is geen ramp. Op enkele autominuten van het centrum hebben we winkelcentrum Paddepoel en daar kun je wél winkelen in een overdekt winkelcentrum. Ook op zondag.

38: De Der Aa-kerk bekijken

De Der Aa-kerk ligt bij de Vismarkt en is één van de belangrijkste kerkgebouwen die is overgebleven uit de middeleeuwen. True story: in de middeleeuwen werden de edelen begraven in de kerk, iets wat je nog steeds terugziet aan de decoraties die zijn aangebracht aan de vloer. Aan dit gebruik hebben we het spreekwoord ‘rijke stinker’ te danken.

39: Shoppen in de leukste winkelstraat van Nederland

De Zwanestraat is vorig jaar uitgeroepen tot de leukste winkelstraat van Nederland. Terecht, als je het ons vraagt. Hier vind je namelijk geen eenheidsworst, maar kleine ondernemers met unieke winkels.

40: Moderne architectuur bekijken

Groningen verenigt historische en moderne architectuur op een klein aantal vierkante kilometers. Hoogtepunten van de moderne architectuur zijn het Groninger Museum en, daar tegenover, het spitsvormige stadsbalkon recht tegenover het hoofdstation.

41: Naar de Stadsschouwburg gaan

Voor de theaterliefhebber is de Stadsschouwburg een plek die je gezien móet hebben. Een monumentaal gebouw, aan de binnenkant rijkelijk gedrapeerd met authentieke ornamenten. De programmeurs mogen trots zijn op hun diversiteit, want met voorstellingen variërend van cabaret tot klassiek theater is er genoeg te zien.

42: De stilte van het Pepergasthuis

Even geen geluid van auto’s en mensen horen? Meerdere hofjes geven je de kans om minutenlang te ontsnappen aan het stadsleven, zelfs zónder dat je de binnenstad hoeft te verlaten. Het Pepergasthuis (Peperstraat, hart van stappend Groningen) is één van onze favorieten.

43: Gratis exposities van de artiesten van de toekomst

Aan de rand van het winkelcentrum ligt Minerva, kunstacademie van Groningen. Hier worden de artiesten van morgen klaargestoomd voor het vak van beeldend kunstenaar. En ze exposeren gratis en voor niets.

44: Grappige straatnaamborden fotograferen

De oorspronkelijke Groningers hadden wel gevoel voor humor, iets wat je terugziet in sommige grappige straatnaamborden. Onze favorieten zijn het Koude Gat, Tingtangstraatje en de Kleine Snor. Fotograferen en Facebooken die hap!

45: Naar een synagoge

De bekendste synagoge van Groningen staat in de Folkingestraat en is vijf dagen per week open. Binnenlopen betekent ondergedompeld worden in de sfeer van het Midden-Oosten.

46: Zien waar de blauwe enveloppen vandaan komen

Het gebouw van de belastingdienst is één van de hoogste en meest indrukwekkende gebouwen van Groningen. Wat je er kunt doen? Niet bijzonder veel eigenlijk, maar het levert je wél een mooie foto op.

47: Schuilen voor de regen op een overdekt terras

Een terrasliefhebber laat zich niet uit het veld slaan door een beetje regen. Er zijn namelijk overdekte terrasjes genoeg. Droog, warm en toch buiten.

48: De universiteit zien. Twee keer.

Groningen kent geen campus, maar een universiteit die verdeeld is over meerdere locaties. De twee belangrijkste locaties – de Harmonie en het Academiegebouw – liggen gelukkig vlak bij elkaar. Twee hoogstaande staaltjes architectuur, waar de wetenschappers van de toekomst worden opgeleid.

49: Deze idioot hoge muur beklimmen

Geen last van hoogtevrees? Trek dan je bergbeklimmers schoenen aan en klauter langs de kant van deze 37 meter hoge klimmuur. De muur met de toepasselijke naam Excalibur is te vinden in Kardinge.

50: Snuisteren in de Folkingestraat

Eén van de meest unieke winkelstraten van Nederland. De straat was ooit de hoofdstad van de Joodse gemeenschap in Groningen (en er staat nog steeds een synagoge) en is sinds jaar en dag een centrum van bedrijvigheid. Louter gevuld met originele winkels (en één Intertoys).

51: Bootje huren

Wat is er nou mooier dan een bootje huren en zélf de grachten verkennen? Het kan in Groningen. De meeste wateren staan met elkaar in verbinding en dus kun je zomaar van de Reitdiephaven naar het hoofdstation varen.

52: Een gratis picknickkleed scoren

Bij de supermarkten rondom het Noorderplantsoen delen ze gratis picknickkleedjes uit. Handig. Zo zit je chill in het gras (zo heet dat hier) en blijft de boel nog netjes ook.

53: Zwemmen in een binnenbad

Wat als het te koud is om buiten te zwemmen? Logisch antwoord: binnen zwemmen. Bijvoorbeeld in Kardinge, waar het subtropische zwembad klaarstaat om je te laten dobberen in lekker warm water.

54: Stadsstrand bezoeken

Toen we laatst over het stadsstrand liepen, was het een graad of dertig en leek het alsof heel studerend Groningen lag te bakken in de zon. Heerlijk schoon water, perfect aangelegd en dat van een paar minuten vanaf het centrum.

55: Indoor voetbal

Voetbal? Houden wij wel van. Natuurlijk hoeft niet iedereen voor de lokale FC te spelen, want lekker een balletje trappen met vrienden is ook altijd fijn. Bij goed weer kan dat bijvoorbeeld in het park, maar bij slecht weer ga je gewoon naar het indoor soccer centre aan de Ulgersmaweg.

56: De bieb binnenlopen

In de Oude Boteringestraat vind je het hoofdgebouw van de Openbare Bibliotheek. Wie bij het horen van die woorden alleen maar denkt aan boeken, die loopt een héél klein beetje achter. Anno 2018 is de bibliotheek een leer- en ontmoetingscentrum. Inclusief exposities, lezingen, debat en een uitstekende koffiecorner.

57: Shop till you drop!

Geld in de zak? Dikke prima. Honderden winkels in de binnenstad zorgen dat die centen niet langer op jouw rekening hoeven te staan. Tip: begin aan de Grote Markt, loop vanaf daar naar de Primark in de Westerhaven, en dikke kans dat je genoeg leuke winkels onderweg treft.

58: Een veiling bezoeken

Ben je wel eens bij een veiling geweest? Zo’n echte ouderwetse, met een veilingmeester en een hoop curiosa? Veilinghuis Klinkhamer organiseert nog regelmatig echte veilingen, waarbij een hand in de lucht gelijk staat aan een bindend bod.

59: Exotische vogels zoeken

Ben jij een beetje een vogelspotter? Loop dan eens naar het Noorderplantsoen waar je geregeld exotische dieren tegen het lijf loopt. Ooit overgevlogen vanuit het buitenland en nu kind aan huis in Groningen. Bekijk anders even onze checklist.

60: Slapen in een zeecontainer

Hotels genoeg, maar waarom niet eens iets anders? Bij Rebel Rebel (op het Suikerunieterrein) overnacht je in een tot slaapverblijf omgebouwde zeecontainer. Bijzonder overnachten, op een wel heel bijzondere locatie op een steenworp afstand van de binnenstad.

61: Eten bij Brownies en Downies

In de Oosterstraat vind je Brownies en Downies, de lunchroom met een twist. Het personeel bestaat uit mensen met een verstandelijke beperking, die jou de allerlekkerste gerechten voorschotelen.

62: Kijken hoe ze bier brouwen

Brouwerij Martinus verzorgt regelmatig rondleidingen waarbij je een kijkje kunt nemen op de werkvloer. Zo zie je hoe ze water en hop verwerken tot Nederland’s meestgedronken drankje, en kun je als klap op de vuurpijl een fijne proeverij doen.

63: De beste beachclub van Nederland bezoeken

Groningen heeft een beachclub: het gerenommeerde Kaap Hoorn. Gelegen aan de Hoornseplas, met een prachtig uitzicht en een goede sfeer. Aanrader!

64: Hangen in het Noorderplantsoen

Het Noorderplantsoen is populair bij jong en oud. Logisch, want in het prachtig aangelegde park kun je heerlijk liggen aan de vijver. Supermarkt binnen handbereik, dus een barbecue is hier altijd een optie.

65: Naar de Hoornseplas

Aan de rand van de stad ligt een groenstrook, een strand en de Hoornseplas. De Costa Pesetas, maar dan in Groningen.

66: Groninger souvenirs kopen

Op zoek naar een mooi soevenir of een typisch Gronings cadeau? De VVV (op de Grote Markt) ligt er vol mee.

67: Streekproducten kopen

Op zoek naar typisch Gronings eten? Probeer eens het volgende boodschappenlijstje: Knol’s koek, een dikke eierbal en de Groninger metworst. Volop verkrijgbaar in het centrum.

68: Naar een kerstmarkt

Dit jaar Groningen het toneel van tientallen kerstmarkten, variërend van klein en gezellig tot groots en meeslepend.

69: De ijsbaan op de Grote Markt

Topattractie tijdens de wintermaanden! In december kun je op de Grote Markt terecht voor al je ijspret. Warm pak aan, schaatsen huren en gáán.

70: De beurt is aan jou!
