My introduction to adult Aegon would go something like this:
He returns drunk to his chambers after his revels to find Helaena and the kids there. As she glares at him, the twins, who had been waiting to see him, attack him with a hug, oblivious to the rift simmering between their parents.
That way, Aegon is still painted as a not so good family guy or husband but the scene still manages to convey his complicated relationship with his family; as well as introduce his kids and Helaena, whose violation by B&C in s2 EPISODE 1 push him to war.

"Helaena's suffering was an unfortunate side effect" ... no it wasn't! she wasn't a side effect! she wasn't accidently caught in the crossfire. she was the TARGET! B&C made her choose between her children, and then killed the child she didn't chose just to be cruel to HER. they threatened her and her 6yo with r#pe! no one has suffered like helaena did. no one. daemon targeted her in B&C just to be cruel, knowing damn well that she had nothing to do with Luke's death. TB loves to go on and on about how RHAENYRA suffered but completely disregard helaena (who they claim to care about). at least admit you don't give a shit about helaena...

“B&C was an eye for an eye, a son for a son”
No, it was “an accidental death of a 14 year old bully that faced no consequences for cutting someone’s eye out over an insult” for “INTENTIONAL MURDER A FUCKING SIX YEAR OLD THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ANY OF THIS”.
It’s not “fair”, it’s not “justice”, it’s a cruel, weak and cowardly move.

i hold no hatred in my heart for lucerys velaryon but if i see one more person use that poor kids death to justify blood and cheese i am throwing a luke is dead party à la aegon ii and you're all invited

If Blood and Cheese happens and they make Helaena choose Jaehaera over Jaehaerys to die because the writers didn't write Maelor in then I am going to commit homicide.
The last thing I need in this "TG is full of misogynistic, sexist assholes and TB is the #feminist, morally superior, perfect side" narrative that has been created, it is making the Queen of the Greens, the most unnecessarily suffering, innocent 19-year-old mother of three (two in this case) name her daughter to die instead of her son and receiving TB's vitriol over it.

people who say you’re “condoning” child murder because you still stan daemon and rhaenyra after B&C make me laugh. like babes the call is coming from inside the house. like who you want to like. it’s a fictional TV show. even when i read f&b i barely blinked when B&C happened and still supported the blacks. daemon could personally commit B&C and i would not gaf. bcs guess what! its words on paper! not an actual event! shocking i know! i’m not “condoning” anything. like aegon. like daemon. like aemond. like alicent. they’re all selfish nobles/royalty that benefit from a system that deems a person lesser simply because they don’t have some “bloodline.” war crimes my dudes. i’ll be watching S2E1 with a smile 🤷‍♀️

woke up with this stuck in my head... it's really difficult to overstate the sheer charm in Stan Freberg's vocals. at all times, but his role as Cecil especially! i feel i toss around words like "undiscovered" or "underrated" around too much but Time for Beany really is a gem i would love to see get more love

I just saw someone on tiktok say TB tries to rationalize an eye for an eye being unreasonable but a son for a son is somehow perfectly fine and I think that fully captures the delusion there 😂😂😂

B&C was the worst thing to happen during the dance. nothing the greens did even came close to B&C. and people who support\ defend\ justify B&C are in no position to claim moral superiority over anyone.
because it wasn't just about killing jaehaerys - an innocent child. no. it was about psychological torture, sadism ,and pure cruelty. they made a woman chose between her 2 children only to kill the child she didn't chose to torment her. they threatened a 6yo child with rape. they murdered a 6yo child.
like are you really going to tell me you care about "women's rights" when you justify a 6yo little girl being threatened with rape? are you really telling me that the blacks are "the good guys" when aegon spared baela and aegon 3 despite B&C and rhaenyra responsible for the death of maelor???
the fandom's willingness to justify & brush off B&C and helaena and her children's suffering is horrifying.

Not looking forward to the fact that apparently the first episode of hotd season two is called “A son for a son” and that Dyana is also in the second episode so im assuming b&c is a two parter? Makes sense, but i was hoping to not jump into two toddlers and a baby getting attacked and their mother having to choose between which son to kill so they dont rape her daughter. Also i just am not looking forward to seeing Alicent and Helena suffering like that. Because apparently (i saw a tumblr post about it dont know how accurate it is or who posted it) that the writers wanted to have Alicent raped during it? And Olivia shut that down immediately (understandable). The got/hotd writers love having women suffer, it doesnt matter if you hate the greens, blacks, Rhaenyra, Cersie, Sansa, Dany, they ALL suffered and deserved better.

(warning, I’m talking about show!Aemond; in the books the presence of the unreliable narrator makes things more complex to analyze and the death of Lucerys therefore was an ambiguous incident and we can’t possibly know what exactly happened and who is to blame).
I cannot believe some people are still saying that Aemond actually wanted to kill Lucerys. That was never his intention. Does that look like the face of a man who wanted to kill anyone?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He just wanted to chase him around a little, scare him maybe, have a few laughs. Sure, it may be a weird thing to do, but still, killing him was not his intention. If he actually wanted Lucerys dead that night, he absolutely wouldn’t have reacted like that afterwords. Him repeating “No, Vhagar, no!” quite literally means that he doesn’t want Vhagar to kill Lucerys. He knows that the consequences of Lucerys’ death are going to be catastrophic.
Whether or not he felt remorse about killing him, whether or not he was scared of the fact that he accidentally just turned a conflict between families into a straight up war, it doesn’t matter.
Because Lucerys’ death was an accident.
Arguably it wasn’t even caused by the boys’ actions; i’d go as far as to say that it happened entirely because of their dragons’ unpredictable and uncontrollable behavior. Lucerys didn’t want Arrax to burn Vhagar just like Aemond couldn’t have predicted Vhagar’s reaction to that.
Lucerys’ death was a force-majeure.
Which is exactly why I will never shut up about the fact that Blood and Cheese is not justified. It wasn’t an accident, an unexpected tragic event that bo one could’ve prevented. The death of a “son” wherever it would’ve been Jaehaerys or Maelor, was intentional. It was not an act of justice, it was an act of revenge. And revenge is almost never fair.
Ain’t no way you guys actually think it fair exchange.
