This case is making me so fucking angry. theyre using common transphobic language, and also theyre not even HIDING their BLATANT FUCKING TRANSPHOBIA-
Wanna see the poster that made me aware of this current bullshit going on?
Tumblr media
The second paragraph. 'Roxy Tickle is a man that wants to be a woman.' Okay, well a simple google search says shes transgender. Going a bit more in depth? She has done Three years of hormone therapy and gender reaffirmation surgery. Like this isnt a transgender woman who has done nothing to change her identity, she's got surgery and 3 years of hormone therapy! And looking more into it? She has said;
"I am now legally a woman.
“I am already allowed to have a female gendered passport thanks to the letter from my GP confirming that they are treating me.
“I only have one step left - to update my birth certificate to say that I’m female.
“I needed two medical specialists saying they have seen my genitals and they both needed to sign a form in the presence of a JP.
"These are the most extreme levels of identity proof I’ve ever come across – to have to show your genitals to an MD is embarrassing to prove who you are. The documentation has all now been completed and I will mail it this weekend."
That was all 4 years ago. 7 years of this shit now. (as of today, april 11th, 2024)
And the poster still refers to her as a he?
And thats the picture they use. Now heres a better one.
Tumblr media
That was deliberate. They used an unflattering photo of her, and a very flattering one of Sall, just to try and tip people to Salls side. Common marketing ploy.
More research shows that she now has her birth certificate identifying her as female.
And this isnt enough?
By her logic, shouldnt a trans man be allowed on giggle, no matter how far through transitioning they are, purely because they were born female? I get the feeling that she would say no. This is simply blatant transphobia. Personally, I cant do anything, being a minor. I'm not sure how far this case is along, seeing as it started 2 days ago.
But I simply cant let this slide. When I saw it this afternoon it made me so fucking angry.
This case could change a lot of things. Make a lot of changes that make everything far worse for non cis gendered people, potentially influencing things world wide

Current politics moodboard cause my parents are trying to tell me, an adult who’s voted before (especially against their parties), how to vote. They caught on I would vote yes for indigenous voices lmao.
For non-Aussies there’s been a campaign to allow more aboriginal voices in parliament and my parents HATE it. I honestly couldn’t give a damn.
“They will force us to pay to use parks and change the names of places!” Then move to America. You love to hype america for their guns and trump so move uwu. I’m not telling them who I will vote for cause it’s none of their business and I’ve been told off about my political view before so no point talking to them about it. Suck it.
Also fun fact, last time I voted in our local election I put the legalise weed as my first party. That year that party had a HUGE increase in voters. I’m still smiling to this day and I don’t even smoke. Just want people to be able to smoke safely and have easier medical access.
Tumblr media
Also cat cause I think everyone should have this in their photos. Look at him.

I want to be clear that severely cutting off humanitarian aid to any civilian population around the world because a resistance group -which has been labelled a terrorist organization by an occupational force and its' imperial supporters of mass genocide -because this said 'terrorist' group had members allegedly 'apart' of the October 7th, 2023 attack... is a form of COLLECTIVE PUNISHMENT.
Denying basic necessities to Palestinian people -from the lack to inadequate access to food, water, medical supplies and treatment, electricity and fuel for months now -has already been/remains a crime against humanity that the IOF has rampantly been committing.
The UNRWA is supposed to provide health care, relief and social services -and involves itself in emergency responses during times of crisis, and so much more... so by cutting funds because of what I mentioned above, you're effectively saying ALL Palestinian people are terrorists who must be punished when they have done NOTHING. And any person who reduces this to a mere 'coincidence,' you are surely missing the point here.

as an australian i am disgusted. to see my country so proud to be racist? im genuinely sick.
today, over 50% of australia have voted against giving indiginous people a voice in parliament.
THIS is what we talk about when it comes to australia being racist. its fucking casual, its disgusting. and people try to hide and say "well look indiginous people dont like it" THEY DONT LIKE IT? OR IS IT THEY DONT EXPECT ANYTHING TO HAPPEN BECAUSE WE HAVE LET THEM DOWN SO MANY TIMES?
this country needs to change.

Really disappointed in my country rn. Australia likes to act like its better than the rest of the world sometimes, compare ourselves to the shit politics in countries like the USA and UK but we are not. Australia is a very racist country, a lot of may not see but the truth came out during this referendum. My heart goes out to all First Nations Australians, you should not have to put up this.
There are some reminders for everyone:
Australia was only colonised in 1788 and we only became one nation in 1901. The First Nations people of Australia have been here for over 65,000 years. They have been here longer than some of the great wonders of the world like the pyramids.
The First Nations people of Australia where not included in the census and be counted in the constitution in 1967
The Stolen Generation only ended around 1969 with the continuing impacts being felt today.
The government only apologised for their actions in 2008
We continue to not listen to the First Nations people and destroy their sacred sites,

Canada led efforts to weaken the draft Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples at the United Nations, working secretly with Australia to develop a watered-down substitute in the early 2000s, newly released Australian cabinet records show. Crafting the state-friendly alternative was the Chrétien Liberal government's idea, but one Australia backed as a pressure tactic against Indigenous leaders who wouldn't alter their 1993 original draft, the records say. "Australia has aimed to negotiate with Canada a strong and complete alternative text to counter the status of the existing draft and prevent it from attaining the status of customary international law," two Australian ministers wrote in anow-public May 2003 cabinet submission. Canada saw Australia "as its most promising partner" in drafting the new text and was prepared to devote "significant resources" to it, a 2002 Australian departmental memo to cabinet says.

A new landmark study has found that access to gender-affirming healthcare significantly reduces rates of depression, gender dysphoria, and suicidality among transgender people.
While it’s no secret that providing gender-affirming care to transgender individuals who ask for it can greatly benefit their well-being, an increase in transphobic rhetoric and bans on gender-affirming healthcare has prompted thorough medical studies into the impact of such care.
Now, brand new research conducted in Melbourne, Australia, has found that allowing transgender people to access the care they’re after can reduce suicidality by a stunning 55%.
As part of the first-ever randomized controlled trial (RCT) on gender-affirming care, researchers took 64 transgender and gender-diverse adults who had been looking to start testosterone therapy and randomly split them into a treatment group and a control group.
While the treatment group was allowed to begin hormone therapy that week, the control group waited three months for their treatment to begin.
Before the study began, both groups were evaluated on depression, gender dysphoria, and suicidality. Three months later, the two groups were evaluated again.
RCTs for medical care can often be hard to conduct due to practical and ethical concerns. However, researchers of this study found a way to hold an RCT for this study by incorporating a shorter follow-up period. Rather than giving the control group a placebo drug, or no treatment at all, they were simply given a longer wait time.
The results showed a notable decrease in gender dysphoria, depression, and – most significantly – suicidality.
The group that received gender-affirming care right away saw a 55% reduction in suicidality compared to a 5% drop within the control group.
Depression scores in the treatment group decreased by half, while gender dysphoria rates also significantly decreased.
Breaking down their findings, researchers Brendan J. Nolan MBBS, Sav Zwickl, PhD, and Peter Locke wrote: “There was a statistically significant decrease in gender dysphoria in individuals with immediate [access to gender-affirming care] compared with delayed initiation of testosterone therapy.”
“A clinically significant decrease in depression and a decrease in suicidality also occurred with immediate testosterone therapy.”
“The findings of this trial suggest that testosterone therapy significantly decreases gender dysphoria, depression, and suicidality in transgender and gender-diverse individuals desiring testosterone therapy.”
Tumblr media
Of course, this isn’t the first time that research has shown significant drops in depression and suicide rates among transgender individuals who receive gender-affirming care.
A 2022 medical study showed that young transgender people who have access to puberty blockers are 73% less at risk of suicide and report improved well-being.
But, as anti-trans activists advocate for further bans on gender-affirming care, one of the key arguments is that the evidence in support of the care isn’t up to scratch with GRADE (Grades of Recommendation, Assessment, Development, and Evaluation) standards.
So research like this landmark RCT is so significant to the transgender community and its allies as the fight for their healthcare rights rumbles on.
