And before there's another long rant as though I'm pulling this out of my ass... I studied the bible at school since kindergarten. I've been indoctrinated since before I could fully read. I live in an extremely religious country, where religious tradition is commonplace and expected.

Don't try to pass off your new agey version of an asexual agender god as the absolute truth when you KNOW 99.9999% of christians do not have this interpretation in mind. It's just so fucking disingenuous and ignorant of basic reality... It shows what a fanatic you are, and to what great lengths you'll bend reality to for jesus... You know, the male son to the male god who, as per your precious book, was placed into Mary. Did she have a choice? Did she really?

"Came unto" can be interpreted as came upon, came over, entered, overtook. Don't pretend your personal favorite bible translation is absolute. Mary was TOLD she would bear the male god's male child by an angel. She was not asked, she was informed. Be honest. You know this is what you were taught as well. If it wasn't, then you are part of a small, very specific Christian community. This is what I learned in Catholic church, this is what I learned in Sunday school, this is what I learned in Seventh Day Adventist church, this is what I learned in Saturday school, this is what I was taught at SDA primary, secondary, and high school as well.

Just because they reframe it and pass along the interpretation that Mary was told she had been impregnated by the holy ghost and she rejoiced, the truth is she was informed by a male coded creature that she was to bear a child that wasn't hers. She was a child and had never had sex and she had no choice.

Also I don't think you wanna be claiming one particular translation and interpretation as absolute when it comes to the bible at all, considering the sort of deeply misogynistic stories present in that hunk of trash. It's all fun and games when we're all "love thy neighbor" or whatever the fuck, but please go ahead and spend some time explaining how woman positive [these passages] are.

Just because the bible isn't 100% about how bad and evil and gross and wrong and sinful and disgusting women are, it doesn't make it okay that so much of it dismisses women altogether.

Also please, the praise of Mary as a perfect holy being because she took a pregnancy she never chose, and bore a child she never wanted, and bowed her head, and said she was happy about it doesn't make the bible woman positive. It makes it propaganda for women to take their marital rape with a closed mouth and nobility, so that maybe they'll be remembered as beautiful, chaste, perfect martyrs as well.

Don't get me started on the concept of virginity that surrounds Mary and how it is used to degrade and control women.

Christians/new agey godly types often twist reality of the religious beliefs they claim to adhere to, so I truly hope your very very very male god keeps you warm at night, and that you'll at least start being honest about what you believe in, rather than making excuses for it. If you wanna be in a cult, go all out, don't pretend to hold out. It's even worse than just being outspoken about the inherent misogyny of your religion, because you fool other women into buying into your bullshit. Just be fucking honest.

would he accept what people say and become a monster, just so they have something to fear? Would he threaten the gods, knowing he has nothing to lose? Would he attack Aeolus, his father, with the claws he gave Gray? Would Gray win? who would he go after next? The people who wronged him? His mom? What would she think, when she sees her son, who was just a ‘rebellious teenager’ to her, who has now become dangerous? Is that even true, or does she see him as more threatening now? What would she think, when she sees him, not obscured by any illusions, as the monster he sees himself as? Would she recognize him?

what would Gray do after everyone is dead or has gone, ran away? Would he be satisfied with the revenge, knowing the world has wronged him and he has wronged the world, so they are now even?

are they? After all this? Is it still worth to live when your reason to live and stay sane is dead?

alternatively, was Seth ever actually Gray’s tether to humanity? Was it something Gray made up, to feel better about his violent thoughts, or to distance himself even more from humanity and sanity? Was Seth ever really as good as Gray wanted him to be?

everyone should attempt an artisan craft at some point in their life because it would cut down the number of comments questioning why handmade goods like ceramics or textile craft or woodworking are so expensive

and this is an unrealistic expectation, but I think the attempt should include seeing through to the end at least one "finished" item, no matter how clumsy or lumpy your first attempts might be. like to me, there's a huge difference in perspective between attempting to learn how to crochet or throw a pot for a few days, acknowledging that it's harder than it looks and giving up, versus committing to finishing that scarf or clay pot you started and working on it for weeks while you painstakingly learn from your mistakes and grow attached to your project while also simultaneously hating it.

once you finish the latter, your perspective changes from "why does this crocheted blanket cost $200" to "holy shit I can't believe they're charging $200 for this crocheted blanket instead of $2000" because you may have known crocheting is hard, you may have easily agreed with the idea that "handmade goods take time and effort" even before attempting a craft, but now you know firsthand the absolute time sink it takes to make things. like yeah dude, that one item took you 2 months to make and probably wasn't even an ultra complex item if it was the first thing you made, now imagine attaching an hourly wage to that time to calculate the cost (and this is ignoring every nuance of the artistic element and master crafters being able to work faster/charge higher because of their years and years of experience)

anyway this rant has been motivated by a comment I saw on someone else's ceramic post asking why a mug was $60 and they understand it's handmade but $60 just seems overpriced, and bro do you know how long ceramics take to make. that mug probably took at minimum 3 weeks between how long it takes to throw the mug, dry partially, trim the mug, dry fully, bisque fire, wait a day for the kiln to cool, sand and paint and glaze, glaze fire, wait a day for the kiln to cool, take product photography of the mug, write description and list the mug online for sale, im not even including the skill needed to complete all these steps without the mug literally exploding or collapsing while also making it an appealing piece of art, aaaaaaaaaaaaa

I know I've said it before but I'm going through it again and I just really believe (for me at least) that rejection sensitive dysphoria is the absolute worst part of having adhd

Like I'm cool with being a "failure" and I've learned how to cope with just about everything else, but even having a boyfriend (it's official now) who knows that I have rsd and goes out of his way to make me feel secure (like he's really amazing about it, y'all, I feel so supported) I still have the feelings and my brain still tells me awful things and honestly knowing it's just the mental issue, well, yk, "I also don't want me to be doing what I'm doing"

At least knowing what's going on helps me to not inflict it on him, when I was a teenager I was really one of those clingy gfs (sooooo glad cellphones weren't common back then) but it's still really fucking painful

Like I experience rsd as physical pain in my chest and stomach and feet and hands, as well as having the mental anguish, it's fucking stupid

After 4 years of thinking I was non-binary during my latter teen years, I desisted once my girlfriend sat me down and explained basic feminist ideology to me. Don't get me wrong, I already thought I was a feminist – but I had been slowly getting brainwashed by neoliberal feminism/trans activism/qu**r activism, and their ability to sell fallacies really is on par with cults... But I digress.

My point is that as soon as my girlfriend had the patience and strength and bravery to explain why it was so hard for her to just call me by my neo pronouns, my chosen name, etc, I finally sat down by myself and faced something that as a supposed feminist I should have seen from the get go: feminism is the notion that all women are worthy human beings. There are no ifs or buts, feminism is the fight for women's rights because female human beings deserve rights. There is no moral or political component that changes a woman's undeniable right to basic decency.

What brought me back to myself in feminism, after years of self hatred and years of nurturing my dysphoria like it was precious and made sense... Was the realization that if I knew that all women deserved respect, then I would need to extend that respect to myself.

This is no excuse for women's hatred of women, but a lot of us extend our own self hatred to other women. All that we cannot forgive in ourselves, we do not forgive in other women.

And that can be justified when we do not forgive other women's complacency and their full on choice to support men's violence against us... But it is the venom in our movement whenever we hate women for their hatred of themselves. Because the truth is most of us were raised to hate ourselves, and it takes a lot to untangle yourself from the notion that you deserve suffering and pain. If we let that seep into our politics, then we are failing other women just like we were failed.

The personal is political, and so I'd urge every woman to first look into herself, and find all the ways you still do not extend empathy to yourself. How much of that lack of empathy do you extend to other women? How can we change that?

What saved me in my early days of realizing being trans wouldn't, is that I surrounded myself with women. I found women I didn't like, women I liked, women I had things in common with, women I shared nothing with. And I dug deep to find our most relevant link, the one thing all women can know about themselves and other women: we are all female human beings. We are unconditionally deserving of respect.

All other judgements should be secondary to this notion. And please note that "respect" doesn't equal liking someone, doesn't mean blindly agreeing with someone, it doesn't mean to make excuses for them. It just means to empathize with other women's humanity and flaws, even if they're not who you wish they were.

bit of a rant here about my opinion on fanfic snd fanart

but also if you see this and its discouraging you from making fan stuff, dont let my (one persons) opinion stop you from doing stuff. so.

fanfic and fanart. Amazing. Love seeing it. But i never make it. And honestly, i want to make more fan stuff. And this is also something i want to improve my opinion on. I am always afraid that when i make fan content, i eventually will grow out of whatever interest i have at the time. So i just never make fanstuff.

like for example, im really into hermitcraft and life series lately, but i wont make fanart because im afraid ill look back on it half a year or so later and ill think ‘wow i hate that’ (actually its a much worse feeling that cant be really put into words). and im really trying to improve my opinion on this, because i really want to make fanart and i hate my brain sometimes.

im genuinely surprised when i found out that people in the yr fandom give simon so much shit and for what? trying to protect himself from getting hurt when wilhelm denied that it was him in the video after he PROMISED simon that he wouldn’t do that? or trying to move on from wilhelm? when simon got into dealing booze or stealing drugs from his dads, he suffered because of his actions! his friends(rosh and ayub) stopped talking to him, he couldn’t pay for the personal tuition and his mom and sara found out about it and were obviously very mad at him! sara got into manor house, made friends and mostly had a good time in the majority of the second season while she was basically betraying simon’s trust by not telling him who leaked the video and using that fact to get into manor house plus sleeping with the person who recorded and released the video! personally, i don’t think her character can be redeemed in s3! but i see people trying to defend her more than they will with simon and that’s very sad!

or the fact that even wilhelm didn’t have to suffer at the aftermath of the video cause he denied that it was him in the video! i mean, we all know that the internet sucks! imagine, the things simon had to read! and people want him to forgive wilhelm just cause he said he loves him?? i mean how can he trust him? does he not have self-respect? my poor boy prolly thought that he would only be hurt more cause if wilhelm can deny his existence now, why won’t he do it in the future? or how serious is wilhelm’s love for him if he can deny their relationship so easily after he PROMISED that he would do no such thing! or the fact that wilhelm’s doesn’t even apologize to him properly, clearly not realizing how much he hurt simon! i mean the guy keeps asking simon to be his secret? how can simon agree to that? notice how in the first half s2 it’s not that simon denies that he loves wilhelm, it’s more like how can i trust you? and he was right wasn’t he? wilhelm knew that august released the video but proceeds to once again make the choice for simon and keep him in the dark! i’m not saying that he didn’t redeem himself in the latter half of the season! but it definetely felt like only simon felt the repercussions of his actions! both Sara and Wille just got away! and august the guy who should have gone to jail was being rewarded by being the backup or getting the girl! simon definetely sufffered more than august and the fact that some people in the fandom still are annoyed by him is just really disappointing! atleast have a reasonable explanation for finding simon annoying or not a fun character! I mean if you can understand Sara’s action then simon deserves the same! i am not trying to say that simon isn’t at fault, im just saying that why are you harsher towards his character not towards sara, wille, or august!

also, can we not forget that marcus literally gaslights simon into not breaking up with him! like my guy can’t catch a break! i hope that simon gets to be happy in s3! even though he has to deal with his sister basically lying to him the ENTIRE FUCKING TIME!!!! my god, i just want both my boys to be happy!

Found a new favorite restaurant a couple weeks ago, but it's only open for lunch, except on Fridays when it's open until 7. Took my stepmom there last week and we were supposed to go there today for a belated birthday dinner but my stepmom thought they were open until 9 and they have builders at their house that aren't going to leave until 4:30 and it takes them a little over an hour to get to my house and the restaurant is another 30 minutes away so basically it's not happening bc I would rather die than walk into a restaurant less than 45 minutes from when they close

I told her it's not a big deal and I'll just pick somewhere else but I'm actually incredibly disappointed rn. I've been thinking about and looking forward to this all week... not to mention that it's incredibly difficult for me to make restaurant decisions under optimal circumstances but the petulant child in me makes it even more difficult when I already had a choice in mind

I'm an adult so I'm not going to bother anyone irl about it but I've got to complain somewhere
