Annabeth trusting Poseidon more than her own MOTHER to protect her. Oh this is sick.

Still trying to understand why athena would consider the kids delivering medusa's head to them as something to be embarrassed of. Like idk about you but if my 12yo daughter managed to kill the monster who disrespected me I'd be so proud of her you would see me taking photos with that head but I guess athena ain't a good mother nor a girls girls

Just saw episode 7, and I have a LOT of thoughts!!
1) Percy meeting his half-brother was so weird, like bro was creepy 😭 (was that the actor who played death on Supernatural???) Annabeth sassing him was hilarious
2) Annabeth giving Grover the ball to calm down, Percy reassuring him there was no issue with him losing the pearl, Grover insisting that they're still going to get his mom 🥺🥺, I love their friendship
3) I can't imagine how hard bing a single mom of a demigod (especially a forbidden one) must be, Sally is so strong. And baby Percy thinking she wanted to get rid of him, my heart can't handle this 😭. Sally and Poseidon were so cute... Like I have no words, they didn't even look at each other and yet I still felt all of the chemistry!! 😭
4) What was Annabeth's regret???? I hope we find out next season!
5)Speaking of Annabeth, her petting Cerberus into submission and playing fetch with him!! God, that was so cool and cute!!! I love her!!
6) kronos was planning everything all along!!!!!! Amazing!! I did not see that coming! But since he is trapped in Tartarus who did steal the bolt (and helm apparently)??? Was it Ares?? Clarisse?? I'm guessing we're finding out next season!
7) Speaking of, I loved the way that Percy was so smart, he was able to connect Ares story with Hades's speech and figure out it was Kronos! Amazing!!
8) A daughter of Athena telling a son of Poseidon that she trusts Poseidon, what if I kms????? 😭😭😭
9) I expected Hades to be scary, but he was just some funny fruity little dude, love that for him! His wife is staying with her mom and he's lonely, so he talks to the statue of his sister in law, love that for him 😭
10) I am so excited for the battle with Ares!!!!! Let's go!!! (God of War vs 12 year old kid who hates authority and is done with this shit; who will win?! Place your bets now, folks!)

I love that in battle of the super sons they reference Superboy but literally none of Bruce's other kids. I like to think that Jon believes his uncle/cousin (family trees are weird) Conner is just a cool punk rock college student or whatever and he's totally blown away by the reveal. "You didn't think that, as my brother, Kon must also be Kryptonian?" Clark asks, exasperated. "You're adopted!" Jon says, defensively.

In the 1st book series I can have at least a little bit of respect and hope for Athena being a caring mother (as caring as the gods can be anyway).
But TV Athena? I wanna march straight up to Olympus and have a little....chat, with the Goddess of Wisdom about being a somewhat decent parent, possibility of being smited be damned.
I like both of these interpretations of Athena btw, even if TV Athena makes me want to commit a crime (preferably against her).

the medusa parallels with everything that happened in ep 4 !!!! like Athena punishing Annabeth (someone who trusted and basically worshipped her) for something Percy had done.. just like when she punished Medusa for Poseidon's actions

the parallels between Sally and Poseidon’s parenting towards Percy, and Athena’s “parenting” towards Annabeth in this episode!!!!!!!
the episode being bookended with Sally and Poseidon trying to teach Percy basically the same thing, and even though he’s a DEADBEAT, Poseidon is still trying to keep Percy alive in some capacity.
and episode 3 having Annabeth defending Athena so hard from medusa just to have Athena basically sign Annabeth’s death warrant in this one because she EMBARRASSED HER?! EVEN THOUGH SHE DIDN’T EVEN MAIL THE HEAD?! Annabeth talking about how the st louis arch is a monument to Athena because it’s a monument to perfection, mirroring the way annabeth looks at love as something to be earned!! Percy repeatedly being impertinent and fucking up and both Sally and Poseidon still showing him some kind of love and protection are you kidding meeeee
anyway that makes sense right

Saw someone say that Poseidon saw what Athena did to Annabeth and decided this was his chance to out deadbeat her in parenting and I’ve been laughing ever since 😭

My thoughts on Ep. 4 - I Plunge to My Death, A rant
First off, Sally and baby Percy scene was so cute. I swear to god, no one will ever top Sally Jackson for being the best mortal parent in the series.
That Percabeth bonding scene in the train. Bruh, I cannot wait for the Kindness International truck and Waterland scenes.
Annabeth opening up about her Dad and Percy utterly shocked that not all mortal parents are like his Mom.
Frederick’s college ring on Annabeth’s necklace. To non book-readers, yes, that's her Dad's name.
Annabeth having to earn Thalia’s respect.
Luke caring for Annabeth right away just makes it more gut-wrenching and heart-breaking with what he’s about to do. (SPOILER ALERT) “Family, Luke. You promised.”
Grover being super grouchy when he doesn’t get enough sleep. And as someone in their twenties, I totally could relate to him.
This convo:
Percy : Can I ask a dumb question?
Annabeth: It's like you need me to make fun of you.
That's it, that's their relationship.
Mentioning the god of the wild, Pan, and that there are searchers for him.
How that convo basically went:
Train Cop: I don’t think you wanna take that tone with me, little girl.
Annabeth: EXFUCKINGCUSE ME?
Grover: Annabeth, no-!
Echidna calling the cops on 3 minors, just screams typical Karen behavior.
The St. Louis Arch being an actual temple of Athena is a nice change from Annabeth just wanting to go sightseeing.
This convo:
Percy: You've done more for me in the past few days than my father has done in my entire life. If I had to stick with someone, I-
Annabeth: Careful, I think you were about to call me a friend.
Percy: *stumbles because of the poison from the stinger*
Annabeth: *catches him*
Again, that’s their relationship.
Annabeth and Grover splashing water at Percy at a fountain when there’s a big-ass river nearby. Idk, but I find that funny.
Athena letting Echidna and the Chimera into the Arch because it wounded her pride? OH, HELL NO!
Athena’s Logic: Punish her devotee because someone close to them did something that wounded her pride. Medusa=Poseidon; Annabeth=Percy. She didn’t even gave a f*ck that the devotee in question is her own daughter. WTF, ATHENA!
I always thought Zeus has the crown for being the deadbeat absent godly parent, but Athena is slowly giving him a run for his money.
Annabeth deciding to sacrifice herself so Percy and Grover can continue the quest. WTF!
Percy tricking Annabeth into taking the final stand himself. Dude, your fatal flaw is showing.
Annabeth having to deal with a forbidden child sacrificing themselves for her safety AGAIN (With Thalia, and now Percy). Girl must be traumatized.
Grover having to go through it again as well.
The Chimera being terrifying than how non clear-sighted mortals see it.
Poseidon “always been here/so hard for me to stand back” Daddy to the rescue.
This:
Percy: *gets stuck underwater*
Nereid: It’s okay. You father sent me-
Percy: Oh, hell no! *tries to swim harder*
Percy only now realizing he can breath underwater. Like, of course, he can. He's Poseidon's kid.
We're only in Episode 4 and it's already so good. Can't wait for the episode 5.

The writers of Disney's Percy Jackson could do the funniest thing... Do you know how Percy mocks Athena with the posh english accent? They could let Toby Stephens keep his accent, his very natural and very posh english accent.
Then, when they meet for the first time, with Annabeth and Grover in tow, and Poseidon open his mouth... the poor boy would be so mortified and ashamed that his deadbeat dad speak with that accent, that he would momentarily forget about his quest for child support: "Stop that sound you're making with your mouth. You're so embarrassing"

People keep saying that they don’t understand how Percy or Annabeth couldn’t join Kronos after all the stuff the gods put them through so far in the show (deadbeat parents, Athena’s punishment) clearly don’t understand Percy’s motivations.
Percy doesn’t stay at Camp Half-Blood because he thinks the gods are alright, he stays because he knows that Kronos is worse.

Annie: doubts about Athena a little
Athena: lets a literally demigod killer inside her temple to punish her daughter

'and honestly i can talk at great length about how fandom's obsession with eddie being super jealous and possessive feels very motivated by racial stereotypes but i'll stop now lol'
no please don't stop i'd like to hear more. (also i enjoy jealous buck wayy more than jealous eddie so i'm wondering if that's why)
i mean, this anon articulated it really well. and...i think the whole "eddie being extremely possessive" thing comes from where the rest of the very popular fanon interpretations of his character come from. buck—the white guy—is basically sunshine personified, he makes everyone around him happy, chris likes him more than his own dad, bobby and athena are basically his parents, he's friendly with everyone and has people hitting on him or thirsting over him all the time, he speaks in perfect therapy-speak all the time...
...and meanwhile, eddie is this brooding, anti-social loner who only has friends because buck, the extrovert, 'adopted eddie into his friend circle', who doesn't know how to regulate his emotions, he's basically a deadbeat dad who needs buck to pick up after him all the time, he gets crazy possessive and jealous, he's super rude and disrespectful to all of buck's girlfriends (whereas buck is a perfect angel saint who is always so respectful and supportive of eddie's love life)....
see where i'm getting at? like, it's definitely a Problem, the way eddie gets vilified like this for traits he doesn't even have, all because fandom has projected all these stereotypes conveniently onto the brown man. like, this isn't even an exaggeration. whether it's on ao3 or right here on tumblr, this type of characterization is super prevalent and...it's very telling, to say the least. 🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️ and i was just bracing myself for more of this after 7x03, so that new synopsis has come of something of a breather, lol.
