Don’t imagine Luna Lovegood finding out that they use they/them pronouns. Don’t imagine it being the 70’s and that being wrong. Don’t imagine them feeling brave and telling their friend and then it spreading around primary school when they’re little. Dont imagine them getting bullied for using they/them pronouns. Don’t imagine them finding Nargals, Wackspurts, Heliopaths, Thestrials and becoming friends with them. They stop talking to the other kids at school and the bullying slows, when they get to Hogwarts they think all they need to do is deal with she/her pronouns and they’ll be fine. Don’t imagine they bring up Nargals and Wackspurts. Don’t imagine even people in the wizarding world being mean to them but for seeing things they couldn’t explain. Don’t imagine them crying themself to sleep wondering why they can’t just fit in. Don’t imagine after the war people finally see Thestrials and everyone start to think, maybe, maybe, Luna isn’t crazy, maybe everything they said was true and that all the creature are real. Don’t imagine them living into the present and finding out about they them pronouns and everyone knowing about the creatures and finally finally feeling like they belong.
