Well first of all, he wouldn't be able to muster a single coherent thought for a solid minute afterwards, but I'm indeed pretty sure he still couldn't bring himself to see it as what it really is even if he pondered the gesture for hours on end. His own mind would keep coming up with endless ridiculous excuses in a poor attempt to somehow rationalize it instead. xD

I'm gonna be real here: it would take nothing short of an outspoken and direct declaration from Peach for him to finally stop being so dense on the matter. The poor dear is so utterly convinced he doesn't stand a chance that even something as bold and telling as a romantic kiss (if given without affirmation or explanation) probably wouldn't suffice to fully change his mind. 🥺💓

As a fellow Mareach fan, did the ending cutscene to Odyssey gut punch you as much as it did me? Cuz my inner ten-year-old was so frickin excited to see my very first ship finally have their *moment*—and then. And THEN.

I just. Haven’t quite forgiven Nintendo for baiting me like that.

I remember back when the game was being advertised, the first promotional image I saw of it was Mario wearing the white tux and top hat, looking very dapper as a groom. I wasn't nearly as much of a Mareach fan at that time (though I still casually shipped them like most people do x3) but even then I remember how excited I felt when the subtext hit me. Was there really going to be a wedding? Was Mario finally going to marry Peach?? :D

The anticipation was real. What made it a big deal for me was a mix of two things: one, the fact that Mario and Peach are both absolutely iconic characters and any significant change to their dynamic obviously deserved the attention, and two, how long it had been before said change occurred. It was what basically made me realize "Right. They technically aren't even official yet, and it's been decades! Damn" lol.

So yeah, I was pretty hyped. If I had been a bigger fan then, there's no doubt that the ending would have disappointed me A LOT more than it did, but at the same time, I kinda get it. :/ There's a status quo to this franchise that has forever remained unaltered, and it's also what partly made it such a classic. In terms of offcial material, I've made peace with the fact that Nintendo might never present them as an actual couple, because some fictional pairings are indeed like that. Bound to exist in canon only as a mere suggestion, an idea, an ambiguous concept. It's frustrating in a way, but as fans, there's also a comfortable sense of leisure and personal interpretation that comes with being able to pinpoint our own exact preference on the "platonic <<<<>>>> romantic" chart, so I guess it's not all that bad. 😅

gonna go with Noble Blood on this one! to not give the lame answer of Noble Blood, the song that gave the fic its name, the next best answer would be Luminary by Joel Sunny!

4. How many WIPs do you have right now?

oh god. i don't know. ok i checked. technically, i have 11, but there's a good chance at least two of them will never get touched again whoops (one is an MCU Loki fic, one is a multichap Tengen/reader fic i talked myself out of actually doing anything with, rip).

5. What’s a fic idea you’ve had that you will never write?

i've had a lot of ideas for like. pwp fics before but i just don't think i have the capability to write them, so i've never really tried bc i know i'd get frustrated really quickly (i've posted smut exactly once and it was only on ao3 whoops)

8. What project(s) are you currently working on?

Noble Blood is my main focus, but i've started a few more installments of my transfem gojo series, and i have a couple of events i think i'm going to participate in coming up, so i'll have some things cooking for those when the time comes!

10. Is there a fic that got a different response than you were expecting?

Noble Blood for sure. i wasn't expecting it to appeal to people when it was still just in the worldbuiling stage, and then after all the excitement people expressed before i started posting chapters i was expecting (& hoping for) at least as much excitement from all the people who had engaged with the worldbuilding stuff, but. alas. everyone that has actually engaged with it has been really lovely tho ily guys 💜

12. Do you have a playlist for your current WIP(s)? Share it!

i do! the Noble Blood playlist is here. unfortunately that's the only wip that has a playlist. i keep trying to make one for transfem gojo but nothing clicks for that one. sigh.

17. What’s something you’ve learned about while doing research for a fic?

i did like two hours of research for one line in Noble Blood a few weeks ago. learned some things but also found a lot of somewhat conflicting answers sooooo. don't try things at home kids i'm like half guessing at all this.

ok so i don't think this fic will ever get posted here (but it is on my ao3 here if you're interested), but i wrote this when i was Going Through It during my depressive episode:
