this stupid stupid stubborn man. even as he’s bleeding out from a stab wound with no medication or alcohol to dull the pain, he’s more concerned about ellie’s wellbeing. without her, he has no chance of survival but he doesn’t care. he tries to send her away to give her a chance, and to give her the mercy of not seeing him die. and even as she holds pressure against the wound and stitches it, he does his best to stay quiet. turns his head away and clenches his teeth so he doesn’t scare her. look at the love in his eyes. she’s so important to him, but he still can’t tell her. so he tries to push her away. and when she refuses to be pushed, he finally lets her take his hand.
Bros… Arin corruption arc seems imminent. Or something adjacent to a corruption arc.
They keep emphasizing how good of a person he is in these episodes… like they’ll mention how he’s naive and super nice and all that….. and then the whole point of the gong of shattering is that it “shatters” the good parts of your soul, the parts that “hold you back,” in order to make you stronger.
And given how frustrated Arin has gotten with his own spinjitzu skills, maybe he’ll reach a point where he feels like the only option is shattering himself :(
It's so endearing to me how Alver would ALWAYS have a constant supply of cookies ready for Cale and his children.
Even in impromptu meetings with them?? Even when he's terribly stressed?? He'll make sure to carry some cookies wrapped in a handkerchief to give to them.
