Its is observed for different reasons in different way all over India mostly in north & eastern India, but the common theme is battle & victory of Goddess Durga or Kali over the over Demon Mahishasur. Celebrations include worshipping the Goddess in her Different Incarnations for nine days. Amidst pure nature at the foothills of the Himalaya at Yogada Ashram Retreat we will practice different dimension of yoga, Meditation & kriya’s that will help us to transform to much higher level in life as a human being. The retreat will include daily hikes in the Himalayan foot hills, yoga & meditation session on the silver sand beaches of Ganga and visit to special events and some ashram & temples in Rishikesh & nearby places.

One of the first lessons I learned about strength is that exactly when you want to give up is when you need to push through. Statistically speaking the last 10% is often the hardest. The night is darkest and longest just before dawn breaks. We quit when they’ve been at something for awhile but the results haven’t shown up. We get frustrated with what appears to be lack of progress and we lose hope. But what we can’t see is that just around the corner of doubt is a door of possibility. Exactly when you think all is lost, when you feel like it’s never going to happen, when the desperation and escapism begin to sprout, it’s then that you start to build steady strength. As they say, if you find yourself in hell, keep going. Or, if it isn’t all o, then it just isn’t over yet. Be strong.
